Audio out.. Wtf?! - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I've done everything possible to stop these wake locks. AudioOut_2 is worse than 3,but both r still annoying. Phones been on this battery for less than 2hrs and that wake lock is over 10min and 6%. The Damn thing shows up even when I put my phone on vibrate. It makes no sense.

You said "Everything possible". Enumerate.

Turn all sounds off; touch sounds, media sounds, ring tones, etc. Basically my is in silent mode (which sucks). Doing this lessens the amount of wake locks, but they r still there, it makes no sense. Plus I'd rather have sounds on, but it seems to just destroy my battery life.

What kernel/kernel version are you on?
Sent from my i9250

I have the same wakelocks, they take over the partial wakelocks on my phone. I almost always keep my phone on vibrate but I do listen to a lot of tunes whether it by via Spotify or Google Music.

Haha!! Sounds dumb. Your not aloud to let your phone ring because it will have a wake lock Lmao! Sorry but on topic I don't bother about it. Don't forget some wake locks are normal

I know people that ended up in a clinic because of the constant wakelock hunt..

Rite now I'm on eclipse with whatever kernel comes with it. I'm probably gna try James Bond or air kernel and see if they help.

Music Issue

i dont know if anyone is having this problem.. but when im listening to music and i get an email or im... the music starts to have static or something? is that normal?
What is your notifications ring tone set to? Might be the ringtone that actually sounds like static/interference.

Only when the screen is off?

I have the same issue (4.0.3, matri1x 1.5), but only affects sound when the screen is off. Pulling out and then reinserting headphone jack works for me, but would like a permanent fix.

Possible?

Is there any way I can have an alarm that wakes me up, but not the rest of the household up?
Thanks

Set the volume of the alarm lower ? Settings>Sound>Volume
Turn your alarm volume down?
Yeah, but then I fear it wouldn't wake ME up lol

Set to vibrate only and put it under your pillow

Do you think that would work? Might try it actually, what about using headphones? Lol
Sent from my R800i using XDA
Hearing something vibrate under your pillow will surely freak the hell out of you, so you should be ok.
Wouldn't recommend headphones, fell asleep once with them in, hurt like hell taking them out in the morning. Was like they fused into my ear!

I've accidentally left my phone on all the way across the room. Got a text, it vibrated, and it startled me awake. I guess that's probably because I'm a light sleeper though
Thanks

Set it to vibrate, put it down the front of the PJs and you'll get a happy ending wakeup in the morning!

the solution is quite easy:
get another alarm app (e.g. alram clock extreme -> free on getjar)
And use the increasing volume function.
Meaning: your devices alarm will start at low volume and will get louder the longer u ignore it.
So u can quickly disable it if u are awake already (and keeping your household asleep) and still be sure that it will wake u when it comes to full volume late (oh here all are awkae again).
But imho the best solution and also sparing your nerves a bit since you dont get harrassed out of sleep at full volume

Neat Screen off feature

I stumbled across a cool little feature while the screen is off. Cover the light and proximity sensors for several seconds and the top half of the screen will emit an aqua blue aura that displays missed calls, messages, and battery. I know this feature is somewhat useless, just thought I'll do some digging after it accidentally popped up on me while handling the phone.
Edit: Cool, I didn't realize it was the Quick Glance feature. Thought I was going crazy when I couldn't figure out how to reproduce it.
Hmm I do not see that

Doesn't happen here, either. Is this some kind of buried setting?
I could see this being useful if it could detect your phone is in your pocket, and when you pull it out, it would show that information.
It's in settings - motion - quick glance.
Then if you scroll down while still in motion to advanced settings there are more options for it in there.

Yeah I found it, very neat. I turned it on, I'll see if I continue to like it or if I find it annoying.I turned on a few more motion features. Why not try them?
The phone must also be laying flat (like on the table for example) otherwise it doesn't work.
Yeah it doesn't seem to be too reliable plus the info goes away too fast for me

thanks for this...no more pressing the power button when my phone is on the nightstand just to see the time or battery...etc...nice feature
Cool.

Does turning this on have and detrimental effects on battery life? Does it get activated accidentally in your pocket?
Love it. Wish it was faster, though. My screen turn on lag is not good

I noticed you can press the touch keys in those few seconds while the screen lights up and it will make the drip sound... little annoying in the middle of the night.

Don't think it would do much damage to the 3100mAh battery. I'm still getting over a day's use, at least 6 hours of screen on with the quick glance feature on. According to others, it only triggers if the phone has been laying on a flat surface. So I think it'll be just fine in our pockets.

AudioOut_2 wakelock

I'm getting this wakelock. I dont know too much about these things, so all help is appreciated. Thanks
Sent from my galaxy note 2 using xda app-developers app
I think that it might be directly related to the actual audio output. As in, I listened to music for 2 hours, I get a 2 hour wakelock. I noticed that I didn't have anywhere near 2 hours of screen-off wakelocks. I did however watch Netflix for around 2 hours.

There is another thread on this issue. Maybe you can search for it. Basically this wake lock comes about if you set volume to 0 or silent mode.

So only solution is to never put the phone on silent?

Phone vibrates and won't boot

So I was listening to music on my phone with slim bean and it fell behind the bed and when I found it all it does is say Samsung and vibrate in a consistent pattern. Also if I remove the battery and put it back in it vibrates as soon as battery/charger is connected. Does this mean it somehow got in bootloader mode? If so is their a way to get it out without my PC? I tried getting into twrp but. No avail.

These is a similar thread floating around here where people have had this issue when using Pandora. See if you can search for it.

Thank you, I fell into a noob panic. Thanks for calming me down lol. Looks like I may have a power button issue on my hands

No problem. I knew there was something on it but didn't know the details. People have also had a similar problem with Pandora. Don't know if that's what you were listening to, but there seems there's a problem with Pandora and the latest roms.

I was listening to music from my SD card. I got it to boot
But I didn't have the similar in and when I rebooted it it did the same thing. Also got it to load the tarp splash and it rebooted then and I can see the screen flicker like it was booting and the power button was pressed. Looks like I'm going to have to send it off. Hope I can get it replaced for free if not I'm gonna look at a different phone.
