Amazon Wireless Saved My Life

Last night, my phone screen cracked. I was devastated and the hubby was furious!!!! I called Amazon wireless who I got the phones from late November and they were amazing to me and they are overnighting me a new phone. Sucks to have to root and all that all over again.
Just wanted yall to know that Amazon has really great customer service. They also gave me their black friday deal even though I bought the phones a week before so I got mine for free, and now another one, for free.

It was so crazy because the girl I talked to today, was the same girl who helped me in November when I missed the penny sale by a few days and she gave me the phones for free.
She totally remembered talking to me and that my granny's name was also Elizabeth and they she said she was just gonna replace my phone. I am so glad I didn't go through the insurance hassle with sprint. How weird is it that out of all the employees I get her twice and she remember so much about me. Crazy.
I was so upset I cracked my screen I had to take a valum. LOL

Can you buy phones off contract there?

that is pretty awesome,
I got the phone from amazon wireless about 13 days ago, thinking if I should get a replacement as the power button is mushy, making it difficult to press easily but hesitant to do so because its such a small issue.

I can attest to their c.s ...i had to have a new phone overnighted cause i lost everything on my phone including serial numbers and everything else lol...ty amazon life saver

I live Amazon and Amazon loves me.

If a item doesnt come on schedule, you talk to a amazon chat person, and you say your mad, then they will give you a 5 dollar or 10 dollar credit lolol. I seriously love amazon + prime. Love getting shipments in a day with 2 day shipping option LOL

Omg so they accidentally sent me 2 phones and my husband swears I messed his up by rooting even tho I completely put it back to unrooted stock so I called and said "hey.. Yall sent me 2 can I just replace my husbands cuz his buttons aren't working right" and they said "of course why not"!!! What company does that. So flippin sweet.

If you cancel your contract early they tack another $250 on top the carriers etf and automatically bill it to the payment method you used to purchase your device. My Captivate cost $99.99 then a $350 etf and $250 to Amazon when I left At&t. So I ended up paying $700 for a $500 phone because of a nasty breakup. Don't use discount online services if you intend to leave your carrier early.

If I remember right they only charge if you end your plan in the first 6 months. All I know is that they nailed me lol.

That's exactly how it works. I received the standard etf from At&t along with my last bill, then a separate notice from Amazon for their $250. They tell you upfront about the charge...still sucks though lol.

Careful though. You may get customer loyalty first and they will try to 'solve' your issue without retentions. Loyalty will give outstanding deals but retentions can go even further.
If you are not out if contract or close to it though you may not get much.

I think a $225 account credit a free white galaxy 16gb gs3 and still got a rebate form for $50 qualifies as a great deal from customer loyalty. All idid was ask for a good deal while being polite. She was awesome!!! tmobile #1

the way i see is u need some times as a tmobile customer, if u got less than 4 years u shouldnt try to negotiatre for anything

I've been with them for 6 years but when I called them last week and said I am mad that Verizon is selling it for 199 and my upgrade cost is 329. I said I want to cancel (which I wasn't) to move to Verizon and bam. Got two S3 for 179 each and also got a mail in rebate for 50 bucks per phone. Grand total for two S3 after rebate 258.

I just feel these are reasons T-Mobile isn't fairing well. Yes we all want deals but come on. This is just whining and I feel it is ripping T-Mobile off and not making them the money they deserve to make. The S3 is $330 on T-Mobile with a mail in rebate of $50. Making it $280. Yes the other carriers have it for $199, but with their plan prices compared to T-Mobile, you are paying less with T-mobile. Saving you money over the course of your contract. I've been with T-Mobile for 7 years and have not once felt the need to call retention and lie to them about wanting to cancel and switch carriers just to save a few bucks.

Retention is there to do this. Every carrier has retention that does this. If it was that detrimental to them they wouldn't do it. The whole reason they do it is to keep you with their service so obviously it's not doing much harm.
Also some people are dishonest. That's how the world is. It's great you've never had to do this, I haven't either but some people aren't honest and some people need to save as much as they can. It happens.

i feel the same way, thats why i say if you been with them for less than 4 years i dont think u need to whine and complain and want royalty

I had to sent in all three of my 32GB phones and went to the store and got myself 16GB Galaxy S3s which royally pissed me off because I wanted 32GB.
I'm still waiting for the credits to be posted on my account for the 32GB phones I sent back in.
Jessica on T-Mobile forum has been really helpful with my situation and immediately posted some credits on my account to lower the cost of the 16GB S3s that I had to pay out of pocket again.
I am glad that I posted on that forum because Jessica has been the one constant person that's been helping me through all these issues. She knows the situation from A-Z and I didn't have to explain it over and over again to different CSR's.
However, the fact that T-Mobile kept messing up and not registering the phones being returned to them are problematic and I, as a customer, had to pay for that. I wanted the 32GB phones but now I'm stuck with 16GB. In the future, I don't think I'll renew my contract with them and just go month to month. Or, if I do renew my contract, it will be the value plan and I'll just buy my phones from here or ebay or something. Too much hassle having to deal with T-Mobile.

10 months yo. I have a link I saved somewhere, but Google 'tips from an former t-mobile employee' should give you the link to some great info! I personally just saved close to $400 by calling into complain, with legit complaints, but hey I'm rocking a nice new phone. Plus I was able to get early upgrades on all our lines of service.
Edit: Everybody is entitled to a rebate if one is being offered!

Tasks AOKP ROM is nice. I use it as my daily driver, but it has a few little bugs.
Most of which I can live with. My only real complaint with it is that the Voice Dialer doesn't work through bluetooth.
Other than that its superb.

I bought mine for $199 from the att store, nice red one btw then called two days later and said my cousin bought one at best buy for $99 (complete lie) and they credited my account $114

I saw it at radio Shack for $99 after I paid $199 at at&t, called them up and told them about it. They informed me that they don't offer price matching.
I informed them I would just return the phone and go buy it from the shack.
They promptly credited my account $100.
So apparently anyone can get it for $99 if they are willing to work with a customer service representative.
Hope this helps people get credited

Tell me how it goes, because I really want this phone but I need it to be $99.

There was a thread about someone getting a gs3 for $99 from actually calling att and talking to a rep. I read this and called att myself. I bought mine for 199 at the store. So I called 611 and talked to someone. Told them I have been with att for a long time and felt I deserve the same price treatment as the person who got it for 99. Lady said how about 100 credit on bill. I said cool. Next thing I know it was only a 25 dollar credit. Week later I called again cause had issues with activating wife's new iPhone. After getting that resolved I told them about when I called last time and thought I was getting 100 dollar credit but only got 25. Somehow the guy this time hooked me up and gave me 2 different credits. An 80 and 28.50. And my other 25 he didn't take off. Said he wasn't going to. So all three credits took effect and I got 133.50 credit on my bill. So its like I got my gs3 for 66.50. Can't complain about that.

I got mine from at&t for 99.99 I called in and told them I saw people getting it for a 99.99 and asked if I could get the same deal, the csr had to get a manager/supervisor override but was very nice and helpful.

I bought mine from Frys Electronics last week for $150. Then I called AT&T and complained about the trouble I had activating it (spent 2 hours in the store on the phone, eventually had to go to an actual AT&T store). Even though there were no notes on the account, they issued me a $25 loyalty credit and waived the $36 upgrade fee. I didn't ask for anything more than waiving the upgrade fee, but they were very understanding of what I went through. I would highly recommend calling customer service if you aren't afraid to complain.

The reps at the store I went into didn't even care if the phone actually worked..
After playing with the pro and s4 I would have given $100 for it anyway!

Your right about that. I chatted with an ATT rep and she said in-store you can get the phone for free with a trade-in. I'm curious did you purchase the phone online from ATT? Than you spoke to a ATT CSP and linked them the deal on the LG site?

Yep that's how you get it free. I got my gpro free on launch day from them. My situation was different though. One of their supervisors got mad and cussed me on the phone about my upgrade. I asked if the conversation is being recorded and told her im going to report her. She said sorry and gave me the GPro, no cost with next day shipping, and that month's bill was taken care of too!

I need to try and make an ATT rep cuss me every month then lol.

I tried to get the $100 by trading in my iPhone. I took it out of the Otterbox Defender case and the store salesman took a look at it. He found a 1/8" long hairline crack in the back plastic cover of the phone directly over the center of the charging port, and then said he couldn't take it (for $100) due to the crack. He then looked it up, and offered me $15.00. Other than the hairline crack, the phone was pretty much immaculate. I wonder how they would offer $100 for a different phone that doesn't even work.

I just called and got the upgrade fee of $36 credited, though. The screen on the E970 is clear in sunlight compared with the E980, perhaps my biggest gripe.

I bought it in store yesterday for $100. I called 611 on my phone, they said they couldn't credit my account. I called back and told them I saw that they did it for others on a "particular forum" and they did it. They we're really cool about it the second time. Just reference the LG site and let them know that others are receiving credit. I imagine they go ahead and do it because it's a promotion they're running and the employees in the store should be pushing the promotion. It sounds like perhaps the employees in the store don't push it because they're on commission. that's just my theory.

I know there is an option to buy from ebay, but I am just afraid of being scammed.

If I can find another online store that sells 440, I guess I won't hesitate

buy from costco then cancel the contract after 14 days and pay the ETF. It'll be cheaper than buying from AT&T outright.

if u go to a cor store...a real att store not a dealer location they'll sell it to u no problem without service. dealer locations like ms wireless and parott only sell with upgrades and new lines cuz they r typically pure commission. cor reps still get hourly pay so if u wanna just walk in, bye, walk out, it should be quick and easy

U could buy it on swappa on the xda site.

I wish that were the case. I was able to buy the first one with a bit of persuading. I called Customer service and they said the same thing. Who knows. But Just FYI they may be getting ready to stop selling the phone altogether . I had to purchase a 3rd due #2 dropping and shattered the screen. It rang up for 400 dollars.

interesting the only time ive ever had an issue buying out right was at Verizon several years ago.
They must had had a glitch, that phone should had been 439 plus tax. But I wouldnt complain at $400! haha.

So they are supposed to let you purchase the phone full retail with signing up for even a go phone plan?

if u go to a cor store...a real att store not a dealer location they'll sell it to u no problem without service. dealer locations like ms wireless and parott only sell with upgrades and new lines cuz they r typically pure commission. cor reps still get hourly pay so if u wanna just walk in, bye, walk out, it should be quick and easy

Wow that's crazy. The only restrictions we had on no contract sales were with iphones. A phone that Att doesnt even market should be no problem, especially if u already have service with them. Did they say y the wouldn't sell it to u?

eh.... i dont have att service. i just want to purchase it,unlock it and use on an att mvno. i didnt told them this much but i did say i dont want att service

It will only affect your credit if you don't pay the etf.

saying you wanted it without service is probably why they didnt sell it to you. most sales reps r shady and sharks...i know cuz i used to be one. i used to see my coworkers bold face lie to customers sometimes if they didnt wanna do something that didnt make them any money. since you wanted just the hardware and no service they werent getting jack from you at all and just said they couldnt even tho its not a problem at all
