How to get the S Pen to work on back and menu button? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I really like this S pen but is there anyway to get it to work on the back button and the menu button. I find it very annoying I have to use my finger on those 2 butons rather that te s pen.
Any ideas?
Thanks

There are quick commands you can use on the screen to simulate those buttons.
While holding down the button on the S-Pen, draw
"<" to simulate back
"^" to simulate menu

On your phone, go to Settings -> S Pen -> S Pen help -> Gesture
All the S-pen gestures are listed there.

The concept of having a hard Home button is a joke. Just make it the same like the others. But, I've never liked the capacitive buttons either for the problem you are mentioning. The gesture shortcuts help, but it's just a workaround for the problem.

^^ This and you can make your own gestures as well.....

You can enable the on screen soft menu. You have to add a line in system/build.prop. You have to be rooted.

Buy the app
Gmd spen root.
You can make any gesture you would like for back or menu or home. I have even enabled an option so i dont have to push that annoying button on the s pen for back and menu. Google gmd spen root note 2 and there is a free 2 day trial. After the trial i immediately bought the app.
EDIT
Try this

You can also activate the menu and back buttons by holding the S-pen button in, pressing the S-Pen on the screen and dragging down just above the buttons
Thank Enrique Huerte on G+ for that secret maneuver.

Hotkey (Shortcut) for Screen shots?

What's the best way to create a hotkey shortcut for a screen shot? With my previous HTC Amaze, I could press the Power and center button and it would take the shot without having to launch an app before hand. Anyway to do this?
Thanks,
You can do that with your galaxy s3 too
even with your hands on the screen !

Ahhh, got it! You have to hit them both at the exact same time. Thanks!
Also just learned you can swipe the side of your hand across the screen and it will also snap a screen shot.
You are missing the cool features of sgs3.
Swype from left to right or right to left with palm of your hand. That's how you take screen shot. Like you scan a page.

Yeah, but if you have folders open where you want to take a screenshot of the content swiping the hand doesn't always work (the physical touch on the screen closes the folder). For this I use the two button method.

[Q] Taking Screen Shots without the S Pen

Is this possible? I don't like using the S pen to take screen shots because I always end up marking up the image and it gets annoying having to take it out just for a quick screen shot.
Slide your hand across your screen.. boom... I find it works best using the back of my hand with my fingers touching the screen as well

Yes if you swipe your palm across the whole screen either right or left it will take a screen shot. Also holding down the power button plus the home key will also do it.

Neither of these work for me, I guess it doesn't work on Nova Launcher and only Touchwiz.
Thank for the replies though!:good:
Edit: never mind, holding power + home worked! thank again guys!
Just hold power button and home button down at same time and it takes a screen shot hope that helps

also the palm swipe requires that you enable "MOTION" and check the screenshot option (motion is off by default unless you selected to enable it)
I can confirm ALL THREE operations function. press hold spen (pressing button) or palm swipe or simul press hold home and power.

S-Pen pie menu no-show

Hi there. Love the phone. Small problem though - I pull the pen in and out, press the side button on the pen, but nothing - no pie menu. Any ideas of what the issue may be ?
You need to hover the pen over the screen so you can see the pointer on the screen. Then press the button and the menu will show up.

I'll add "the button on the s-pen" I had the same problem and it took me a while to figure out the button is on the pen.:laugh:
I'll also add that in s pen settings there is the following options for when you remove the pen: turn it off when you remove pen, action memo, and air command. 'Air command being the one your referring to' It could possibly be turned off

Thank you for your respond. I was doing it wrong whole time; instead of holding the power and home key button for a few sec. I press it and just let it go right away.

On screen nav buttons

The note 4 had the ability to have movable on screen nav buttons, can't seem to find this function on the 5.
Anyone know where they are, or did they deep six them?
