Where to get a note 2? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Every bestbuy and att store in my area is sold out, and i'm looking to buy one off contract. Any smaller kiosks or other places like walmart that might have them?
also would i be able to just buy a tmobile one off contract and pop my att sim in it?

You would need to sim unlock the Tmobile phone first.

[Q] Where can I buy the GS3 T-mobile version retail price?

So I have been looking and trying to figure out how to get this phone without having to do an upgrade and not pay extreme prices for the phone. Living in SoCal I could wait for AT&T to come out with there's and just use that phone as it supports the 1900 bands down here. But would like to use the T-mobile version as it supports all of the 1700 everywhere.
Any ideas or thoughts? My understanding is that Costco and Walmart only does updates. I am not changing my voice plan.
they should let you buy it outright at a T-Mobile store since you're paying full price. I did it in a cheap prepaid plan and the rep had trouble entering it in the system but the manager had no problems since I was paying full retail. He just had to enter his manager code I guess

Verizon marks phones for unpaid bills and other stupid ****. They black listed my Droid Incredible because I terminated my contract for the Nexus. DINC is literally a brick now.

That DINC can be used on alternate networks like cricket or metropcs that accept foreign esns... it not really hard to flash/reprogram them if you look a little bit.. that's the reason they are sold on craigslist all the time.
Before I took the plunge and bought a new GSM GNex for the $30 tmobile plan, that's I'll I did is buy bad esn phones off of ebay and reprogram them for my cricket account

a lot more people in the world have the International version of the s3 (gt-i9300)
That is always the case when the international version uses a different cpu than domestic. That is why i am hoping Note 2 comes with Exynos in the US also.

yes but you wouldn't get LTE. and you would be paying an unsubsidized price so you wouldn't really get your moneys worth from a pricy at&t plan.

I beg to differ on this statement. I have both Euro S3 and ATT S3, the only advantage of the ATT is the LTE. Aside from that the Euro is hands down better in every aspect.
Unsubsidized pricing is NOT that bad, the huge benefit to this is you are not tied to busted ass ATT for 2 years and are able to leave them at any moment.
And with my Euro I have gotten more than my monies worth. The only reason I have the ATT one is because I got a steal on it and I couldn't pass it up. But it honestly just sits on my couch most of the time.
And if you are not in a contract buying an unsubsidised unlocked phone actually saves you money rather than signing a contract with a carrier. My folks pay $100+ for what I get for $45 month. If you do the math, you pay full price 10 times over buying a subsidized phone.

Pricing of the cell phone plan has nothing to do with if the phone is subsidized or not...

That correct, on At&T the plans are not connected to the device, you only get a break on the price on the device if you agreed to keep your account for 24 months, what phone you have or what plan you have during that period doesn't change or affect the contact.
Correct but if you get a subsidized phone you signed a contract.. carriers plans are more than the prepaid or postpaid plans that offer the same benefits.. its a known fact that carriers get you in the door by offering phones subsidized while offering higher rates than prepaid but if you do the math buying the phone outright you save more money (a LOT MORE) going with Straight Talk over AT&T and essentially get the same service.
Sent from my SGSIII
You don't have to but the phone at a subsidized price you can buy it out right and not sign a 2 yr contract its your choice.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
What do you guys pay for AT&T? $90 a month per line or so? $60?.. $50?.. Straight Talk is exactly the same at $45, they are also on the verge of allowing lte.. the minutes for dollars scam the carriers have been using is very outdated and coming to an end.

Well if your going with one of the most costly carriers buying the us version from at&t over the unlocked version saves you 20% the cost of the phone + a 2 year plan. Obviously you would save money from using the unlocked version on a crappy carrier / plan without LTE..

we pay $10 per line line plus $30 for unlimited data and $20 total text unlimited text on 4 lines. granted it is grandfathered, so it is 100% with it for us to stay on our plan.
straight talk limits your data to 2gb and they don't offer LTE. i also have yet to see anything indicating they will or could. to each his own, though.

Does att block imei?

I have been chatting with this girl on Craig list who wants to get rid of her sgs3 to help pay for an iphone later this week....
I know all the sprint / tmobile phones on Craig list eventually are blocked for non payment / reported stolen...
To my understanding att doesn't care about this stuff... At least last year the un didn't..
Is that still the case? Don't want to get this good deal on a phone just to have to unlock and sell it again..
Want to buy it for my sister

What if somebody opens an att account.. Sells their phone on Craig list and stops payments to it.. Will att block the phone they got with the contract?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Just meet up at the store make the purchase there. If the seller is unwilling to go there then tell them to screw off. They will have security cameras all over the place so there is evidence that this person is selling you the phone; and you will also have a witness that this is taking place so if later they claim that they never sold it to you and it was in fact stolen then you have some evidence in your corner. Legally speaking nothing is concrete but you have to think as litigious as possible because scum is everywhere.
And if you want to get really ridiculous you could type up a document stating that they will in fact pay in full the remainder of the contract and/or pay any fees necessary to keep "the specific ImeI" from being blocked from att service. You would have to have them sign it in front of a witness and a notary. If I were spending more than 400 bucks I would get this ridiculous. Then if you have to take them to small claims court this contract will be as good as any other contract and any judge worth a damn will force them to pay the damages.

Where did people buy t-mobile note 3?

From negri, ebay, or just t-mobile store?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda premium
Online via the T-Mobile store (corp portal link)
Walked into the T-mobile store day after launch and picked one up. Using it unlocked on AT&T.

T-Mobile online
I waited for weeks for Negri because I didn't know they were that shaddy. Costs more from T-Mobile but at least I have the peace of mind. 5% cashback also helped.
Brought mine from someone. $560. I unlocked it, now I'm rocking it on AT&T LTE network.

Oy! For the love of God, stay away from Negri. I'm sure the thread is still here somewhere. Just search.
I got my from Swappa (After I cancelled my Negri order). Got a decent deal, saved about $100 over the cost of getting it from T-Mobile. Take your time to find a reputable seller. Look for sellers that aren't just buying and selling used phones (i.e. look for an original owner).

SWAPPA is what I would recommend. Can't trust the IMEI problems froms Craigslist or Ebay phones.
Got mine from swappa as well, paid $680, brand new in box.
It's not always a horror story with craigslist, there are a few decent people on there lol. But yea I agree other places are definetly more trustworthy and safe to buy from, just don't expect to get as good a deal from them since your not taking a chance.
I met with craigslist seller @Tmobile so to be sure it was paid off and not blacklisted, just gotta be smart and do things the right way or you will get screwed over on that site

They want the unlocked bootloader of the T-Mobile Note 3 (GSM) for easy rooting and ROM'ing, but want to use it on ATTs more expensive (GSM) network. Has the ATT Note3's bootloader been hacked yet? I don't even know.

BTW NUMBER 1 advantage of T-M here is normal coverage comparing to ATT garbage (even regular signal coverage is extremely weak)! Even with the microcell booster.
