GN2 Media needed. (Alerts/Notifications/Ringtones) - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hi there folks,
There are some ringtones and such that my wife just loves from my GN2 that I'd like to share with her.
Unfortunately I do not have a rooted GN2 so i can't grab the stock ones. (Like Ice Blue Tone.)
Can anyone point me to a ZIP file with the stock GN2 media or perhaps grab them for me an upload?
Thanks in advance,
-Bonzai

Next time, just download any of the Sprint GNote 2 ROMS, unzip it, look in System/Media/Audio and the ringtones and such are there.

[APP][REQ] SGSII Stock Clock/Alarm app apk for Galaxy Nexus

Hi All, I originally had a SGSII and then sold it and changed to the Galaxy Nexus just before Christmas. Now the one thing I absolutely miss is the brilliant Stock Alarm clock, which had the options to do pre-alarms and other stuff and basically just worked and even managed to wake me up which most dont seem to do that well.
Does anyone have the apk that they could point me to as would love to see if it works in my new phone.
Thanks in advance,
GD
Just wondering if there is a way I can extract it if I download a copy of the stock ROM? I'll pop it up somewhere for others once I get it out since I've spotted a number of posts asking for the same apk.
Its good to share
GD
Hello
I was searching for the exact same thing, cause i have the exact same problem! Did you find a way to do it?
I download one other alarm app but i dont like that solution, id rather have a native alarm clock with that integration, pehaps can't we notify android team to put it as a upgrade? Also, the app ive downloaded doesnt bring me the same experience i had with gs2's alarm... I have trouble trying to waking up but that alarm clock seems to resolve it..
Please keep us informed!

Hi vpena, glad its not just me
I've not had the chance yet to work out if there is a way to pull it from a stock rom, but will have time probably Friday to do the leg work. If I get anywhere I'll be sure to post it here for others to benefit from.
GD
Here it is, ripped from the ICS leak. I bet it won't work on a GNexus, since it probably relies on the TW-Framework.
Don't install through ClockWorkMod or open the apk on your phone, the zip file contains an apk which you should push to the system/app folder. You should probably know that already though.

Thank you! Using it on Spike's awesome ICS ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1451346.
Thanks xethor, I'll give it a shot anyway as there is no harm in trying.... I looked at Gentle Alarm but it was just too much of a faff and over complicated for what I want....
Cheers, GD
Unsurprisingly it didn't work, but do appreciate people getting involved and hopefully someone will benefit from having the apk.
Cheers, GD

[Q] [Request] Extract Emoji from MIUI?

As of right now I believe we have bigger things on our Dev priority list, (ahem ICS) but does anyone think its possible for them to extract the MIUI font, or just the emoji from it and create a flashable zip that is compatable with our phones? Not having them gave me a bit of Iphone envy...so I bought a 4 (came to my senses within a week and sold it). I think someone already created a zip but because of the whole sopa/pipa thing wherever they hosted it no longer has it for download. Thanks for help!
Have you tried Go SMS?

yeah, use it for emoji for text. I wanted them to be seen in twitter and the stock messaging app
I have all of the emoji png's. the problem is "activating" them. I placed them in the framework-res.apk, as they were in the MIUI rom which had emoji working, but since the iOS 5 update, this method no longer works on any rom.

Really? Didn't know you would have to activate the pngs to see them... Lost cause then? kinda like trying to run sense weather on touchwiz.

JB new google search/now fetching notification tones

Has anyone been able to extract the tones the new google search uses in JB when finding a query & when displaying the results? I think they're pretty simple & would like to use one of them for my default notification tone. Is this a hard thing to acquire?

There probably inside the Google Now APK. Extract the APK(with 7zip for example) and they'll be somewhere

Ya that's what I thought. I tried that & there wasn't much inside the apk that could be modified or pulled out.
Anyone know what APK the new search is named? I have JB downloaded & looking at all apks but I don't see one that says "GoogleSearch" or "Search" or anything like that.
someone managed to extract the sound when returning results. I can't remember which thread he posted in but here it is. credit to the original poster

Glad to oblige. From what I remember from the thread, Google Now, Voice Search, and one other thing was bundled into 1 file: velvet.apk. Try and see if you can extract the files from there.
Good luck!
Didnt know I wanted that, now I like it

I now have it both in sdcard/ringtones and in /system/media/audio/notifications.
I've selected it in the sms settings.
Thought i got it all figured...but it doesn't make a sound. Do i have to change it to .ogg or something for it to work?

Same here, anyone could help us please?
I've always just put my notification mp3s in this dir structure, which ICS finds just fine after a reboot. You may have to create all those folders so it looks like this.
/sdcard/media/audio/notifications/

[MOD]Touch Sounds - Updated with AOKP Touch/Lock/Unlock and Blackberry Storm click

I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but after owning the GS3 and the Note 2, I've gotten awfully tired of the water drop sound when touching anything on the phone.
I changed my screen click sound to the CM10 touch sound and the soft buttons to a different sound pulled from the samsung rom (kind of a softer click). Both are much more suitable for me.
Just thought I'd make it a little easier for anyone else like me.
This is not flashable. Must be rooted. Download zip and extract 2 files. You need to use a file manager and paste these in the /system/media/audio/ui folder, then fix the permissions and reboot. Good habit to back up original sounds.
Should work on any GS3 and Note 2 stock based roms.
3-5-13 Fixed. New zip has AOKP touch sound, and lock/unlock sounds.
3-5-13 Blackberry Storm click

I'm trying to get an outgoing mail sound(swoosh), on my unrooted SGSIII. Would your method work for me, if i downloaded a file manager? I have the sound that i want in my notifications folder, but there's no place to put it, in order for it to work. It's the sound that you would hear, when you send out a text or email, from an iPhone. Thanks for any help that you can give me.
Sorry, you need to be rooted. I used to use ChompSMS instead of the stock app. I believe it uses the same sound when you send. It used to at least.
yeeeeeeaah!!! you read my mind!! i was so tired and wating for someone to do this!! you rthe best thaaanks a lot!!

[Q] Noob Questions

Hi
I posted this thread elsewhere, so, many apologies if I did this incorrectly
I have two Note II's. One I bought and rooted (Korean made) then had a few problems so I bought another (made in China - different sellers).
Anyway the first one is good now with PACMAN AOKP 4.2.2 the other still fully Samsung.
I cant get my work exchange email to work on either. Any recommendations for an app? Will happily pay if it will work.
secondly I would like to install a nice bootanimation on my rooted device, something tasteful like the mega droid walk. Will this work on my 4.2.2/ Have had issues installing any bootanimations so I rerooted and dont want to stuff it up again. any suggestions? No girls or cars. I am a woman (old) and I own a car. I want something clever.
As for boot animation there is an option in settings.

Bootanimation will work on any ROM except Samsung ones unless you use a different kernel.
But apart from that download a XHDPI bootanimation and place it in System/Media and change permissions to R W R R. And you're all set.
