How's your LTE speed? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

My Epic 4g gets pretty good 4g wimax reception around Atlanta. But the 3g is the suck in my neighborhood.
I'm deciding against Sprint and Verizon sgs3. I've read enough complaint articles and blog posts (from the summer) about Sprint's lack of LTE that has me concerned about reupping with them.
Thoughts?
Thanks

I have the s3 and im in wichita falls tx and speeds are blazig fast! WAY faster than 3G even if i only have like 2 bars of 4G. From what I can tell sprint 4G is scarce but when you get it you get it! Im getting almost 3mb/s somedays. nowhere near the advertised 6 but its way better then the 200kb/s on 3G.

While on a call this past morning.

Unfortunately I must have deleted my screen shot, but 32 mbps down and 14 up in the northwest burbs of Chicago. Pretty consistent speeds at the moment but surrounding areas get varied results.

I was out on the balcony and noticed these three antennas. Correct me if im wrong but i think one of them is a 4g antenna. Ive had full bars on my OG Evo and now on my SGSIIE4GT. I know a lot of people say wimax sucks but to me 9 Mbps down 1.5 Mbps down is better than alot of dsl connections people have setup in their homes.
I cant see that close enough to tell who's tower that is. But everyone normally has a tower pretty close to them unless you don't live in the city..The issue is not distance, there's not enough 4g antennas and there want be anymore of those type. Most towers get congested and causes slow data and stay full. Your tower probably is not full. Drive 5 miles and try again.
I could run the test with a panel array up my ass and still get less than 1.5 Mbit/sec.

Sounds painful. I mean, who can live with 1.5 mbps?

I got the same thing... Two towers within a mile from my apt. I got those speeds indoors too.

Well, at least the IPhone can't take away from my 4G which was 4-7Mbps average and the last two months ..wow!

That speedtest app can show a wild range of results depending on server used. My ET shows only 2Mbps on the speedtest app with nearby servers but when using this site, it shows 7Mbps avg and often 10-15Mbps - indoors. I was able to confirm by doing downloads while tethered. Beware the speedtest app, use this site instead...

This was in my house with only 1 bar of 4g.
This is right outside my house with 3 bars (I've seen it faster though)

Something to laugh at. At my apartment.
Edit: I guess Having the 4g on would help when running a speedtest. Lol.

Lte is even better. My aunt had verizon. We live about 10 miles from the tower and she gets over 20 up and down in our house. I can't wait until sprint activates theirs.

Anyone using nexus on ATT LTE?

If so what kind of d/l speeds u getting? Thinking of ditching tmo.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Well, the Nexus doesn't use AT&T's LTE that they are currently setting up across the country, but it does utilize AT&T's HSPA+ network (which they market as 4G, but is much slower than real LTE).
Here are screenshots from the Verge's review of the Galaxy Nexus:

These are speeds in New York city. Remarkably good compared to many other HSPA+ phones.
Damn that's pretty slow....29 for skyrocket on LTE..tmo hspA+ on gs2 is high teens but I wanted to ditch tmo. I'm just torn between devices.
Can get skyrocket for $149...but really wanted nexus.

The Galaxy Nexus is HSPA+, not LTE. You'll get solid speeds but nothing near LTE of course. All depending on your location and a myriad of other factors.

If you want LTE, then your option looks like Verizon when they come out with it. The international GN won't support ATT or Tmo 4G

Well... AT&T's "4G" is HSPA+. They actually make the distinction between "4G" and "4G LTE". T-mo also calls HSPA+ "4G".
So specifically yes, the international Galaxy Nexus Supports AT&T's 4G, and T-mobile's 4G, but not AT&T's 4G LTE.

LTE coming to metro Detroit very very soon.

So for anyone here that lives in metro Detroit if they woke up this morning and ran a speed test they would see that we have LTE now. It hasn't been announced by at&t yet so I assume they're just testing it but the speeds are incredible I'll post a screenshot of my speed test results. It definitely drains the battery a lot more I noticed though. By the way for anyone familiar with the area I'm down river in Southgate.

I live in the st. clair shores too and work out in Detroit or macomb depending on the day, no lte for me yet but super exciting.
Im in Bloomfield Hills. I don't get LTE HSPA+/4G yes but no 4G LTE. Southfield, Royal Oak, Ferndale, Bloomfield (West, Township, Hills) are all areas that are well covered and should have LTE if there is a Detroit Market. Downriver and Southgate is the last place I would expect to get it first. I did not even get LTE in downtown Detroit. So far I did not get LTE at my Dads office in Trenton either. Their may me locations where they are testing the market and they have not expanded it yet. However they have added 12 new markets and are expanding so hopefully we are in the next wave.
on the at&t message boards on their site there was reports of downriver area lte testing now this so it should be very soon.

If you are on Pennsylvania Rd. between Fort St. & Allen Rd. you should be able to pick it up. I noticed it switched to HSPA+ when I crossed Allen Rd. heading west. I don't really know what the coverage area actually is. If you got it at Old Chicago then that is good. I work in Garden City and we don't have LTE here just HSPA+.

at&t LTE coming to Seattle in 2012

About freaking time at&t!
http://betanews.com/newswire/2012/09/06/att-4g-lte-coming-to-seattle-in-2012/
Amazon (HQ in Seattle) just announced Kindle Fire 4G LTE so I'm sure that provided some impetus for at&t.
att is sooooooo far behind with their LTE deployment. I am in Milwaukee, VZW T-Mobile, and heck, even US Cell have LTE coverage here, not at&t.
yikes.
at&t advertises HSPA+ as 4G. What a crock.

You want to know what is sad? Anchorage, AK where I live got LTE before Seattle. I thought there's no way in hell we'd get it this fast. Of course it is some gimped LTE. Only get 18 down and 9 up on off peak hours. I usually get around 8 and 8 during the day.

In the Dimond area I am getting consistent 20-35 down and 11 up.
Edit: I was surprised when I saw 4G pop up. Tested my speed, BAM.
Alaska with LTE, hah.
Thankfully, Portland is supposed to get it too around the same time as Seattle.
About time! Seriously, I believe Verizon has it almost all the way up and down the I-5 corridor.
AT&T + Portland is just awful, though. My friend with T-Mobile gets lightning fast 4G (AWS) all over town (although with some of the usual T-Mobile signal issues) and as soon as I get to downtown Portland it gets so congested that I can't even use my data without it feeling like Dial-Up. Can't wait for them to get off their lazy butt and deploy this stuff. Their HSPA+ network is too damn congested all the time. Stinkin' iPhones hoggin' all the towers

Now That LTE Is In Atlanta Should I?

Change my apn's from epc. to fast. and change my radio from LTE/GSM/WCDMA over to LTE only or LTE/WCDMA?
I'm getting 3 and 4 bars at right around 28Mbps, I was hoping there's someway I could max it up to mid 30's or 40's and 50's. So I was wondering, if changing any of this would do that, or if it'd get progressively faster slowly on it's own since it was apparently released a day or so ago here I take it.
It's real spotty around Atlanta kinda hit or miss really some of the spots I was getting LTE yesterday I'm not getting LTE today.

Yea I noticed throughout the whole day stationary at work, I'd jump back and forth from fully topped out edge/3g to lte I'd stay on edge/3g for about 15 or 20 minutes, then it'd skip back over to lte. Sometimes if I rebooted I'd pick lte back up immediately.
Kennesaw and Acworth here with only 3 bars:

I've got a Note II, and I'm in Smyrna, GA. The LTE signal here is intermittent, been on and off since midnight Tuesday. I've gotten as high as 30 Mbps up, 16Mbps down, but not with much consistency. We'll just have to be patient, I suspect, to see where coverage and speeds settle.
LTE is pumping hard in Buckhead.
