[Q] No lock screen ink spill after reflash? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I apologize if a thread like this has already been started, but last night I managed to screw up my Note 2 by installing Chainfire 3D and softbircking it. No problem there, I managed to fix it by flashing the stock ROM and re-rooting from the files located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1883823. Fast forward to today, I just noticed that when I tap the lock screen with my S Pen, There is no ink spill animation. I don't really have a problem with it not being there, but that feature was just so cool LOL. Any way to reenable it? I know it's not important, but that small, tiny feature was just so cool it irks me that it's not working.

Any chance you're running a live wallpaper? Ink spill is disabled with a live wallpaper. There is also a toggle in the lock screen section of settings.

Hmm, I'm not running a live wallpaper, and I don't see a toggle in the settings. I do see ripples though, just not with the ink. D:

Is there a way to change the lockscreen without root?

Maybe there is a setting that I am overlooking to change it
I hope there is, cause I hate it!

Download agile lock from market, or something like that

you can change the lockscreen wallpaper by going into settings / display / screen display. There is a section for the lock screen. Just click on wallpaper and you can change it. Took me a while to figure that one out.

Looking to replace the lockscreen myself, but in the meantime you can at least change the image on the stock lockscreen by going into the gallery, selecting an image, hit menu->Set As->Lock screen wallpaper
better than nothing!
got it thanks
I used to use WidgetLocker on my Desire when it was still running Sense. It worked generally well. Sometimes it would clash with the Sense lock screen and I had to go through the Sense lock screen after the WidgetLocker lock screen. Though most of the time it worked fine. Maybe it wont have any problem with the Touchwiz lockscreen.

Try Ripple Lock, it's a Honeycomb lock with a single pulltab in the middle. It will replace your lockscreen without root, there is even an option to fix double lock (Galaxy S issue), you will need to enable mode 2.
here's what is looks like.....
I'm using widgetlocker. Put it on my phone about 5 seconds after turning it on. Has been working perfect with no issues.

I have a passcode enabled and my lockscreen is only the screen where you are suppose to enter the passcode. How would I make the lockscreen be a normal lockscreen where I have to slide to unlock and then enter my passcode?
Ditto...WidgetLocker for me as well. Simple quick and easy.
I use lockbot.

Lock screen black when playing music

This is my first thread on XDA so forgive me if I put it in the wrong place etc. I just picked up a gsm galaxy nexus and flashed it to stock jelly bean, everything went smooth and it was successful. I also have it rooted. Anyway whenever I play music and turn the screen of the and turn it on the lock screen is black with the no background and the cover art is partially blocked by the status bar. Is there a fix for this or is that just how it is.
I don't have any screenshots but I will upload soon.
Normal behaviour. Get used to it.

Really? Cause on my Nexus 7 it was normal, anyway at least it isn't a major issue and its not affecting anything else. I guess its just a cosmetic thing.

Because the nexus 7 is a tablet.. and has the tablet/phone lock screen ui to it so it only shows the small album art up at the top. the DPI is small enough for that.

It just does. Google thinks it looks nicer, I suppose, and I have to agree. People could use very colourful wallpapers, that plus an "psychedelic" album art, and you end up in a perfect mess.

Lockscreen Clock hide/remove? (CM10)

is there a way to remove the Clock from the lockscreen? on Jelly bean (CM10)?
I found a few old thread about it, but nothing seen to work. WidgetLocker crash a lot and i couldn't find the way to actually hide the clock.
I installed Wp clock 2, and I love it, but the stock clock is on the way on the lockscreen.
Thanks
Nope, I don't believe so. Maybe suggest they include it in future builds?

S3? Which ROM?
Any AOSP 4.2.2 that has lock screen widgets enabled (CM10.1 does in fact meet this criteria) has the ability to remove the clock from the lock screen. You simply lock the phone, get to the lock screen and press and hold on the clock until you can move the screen around. Move it to the top of the screen to destroy it. You should now have a blank lock screen page with no widgets (in this case your clock).

Tried. What happened was that my phone rebooted and the stock clock was back. Every time.

Screen off Animation

Hey everyone,
So while the guy at the sprint store was activating my Optimus G I noticed awesome screen off animation. Now that its a couple days later and all my settings are set up, home screen ect. I noticed that the screen off animation is none existent, it just shuts off like a normal screen. I looked everywhere in the settings to see maybe if I disabled it but cant find it anywhere. Is there something I did by accident or am I missing something here?? Any advice would help.
Thanks for your time,
Tim

Its actually really simple go to the lock screen settings and select which screen effect you want.
Yep what he said ^ Under Lock screen/screen effects. Dewdrop is pretty badass. This is just another feature I love about LG's UI.

Ok I am totally speechless now... Thanks for helping me realize Samsung is fooling all of us...

i have rooted my tab s 8.5 (t705) and updated to nf8 but all of the unlock effects are still there. where did you go to enable these lock effects?
it is located in settings/device/lock screen/unlock effect and there are 6 options namely none, blind, brilliant cut, popping colors, watecolour and ripple.

Change to one of your own wallpapers and see if they still work.
I just put a custom lockscreen wallpaper and the effects still work here.

unlock effect still works even if i changed lockscreen wallpaper. the only wierd thing in my tab s is that whenever i chage my homescreen wallpaper, to a live one, it will go back to default wallpaper every time i restarted my tab, this does not happen when a plain wallpaper is selected.
