Who wants WebOs ported?! - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Just as the title says ..
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium

I would love a WebOS port, all it was missing was a super phone to run it.

I would like that... all it does is add more adversity which is great

I hope you're volunteering? Or that you have a possible dev volunteer?

This comes up every few months. Ends up in a dead thread with nothing accomplished.
Last I heard can't happen until it's goes open sourced.

rightttttttttt.. so you think if someone wants a WebOS phone they should go back to 5 year old hardware..
anyways if webos had a decent market I would switch to a webos rom.. The problem is they don't.. Otherwise the OS is great..

Instead of putting web os
Why don't you guys that want it start by writing the apps for android and just out it on top of modified aosp

Why WebOS?
What can it do that Android can't?

it has desktop like multitasking, it is also a gorgeous OS. Since google sniped webOS's designer, google has stepped up their own UI. At this point i would say the advantage is simply the multitasking. Google has pretty much borrowed all the great ideas webOS had like swiping notifications and swiping apps to close. WebOS always had performance issues likely due to bad hardware and the robust multitasking. A phone with 2 gb of ram and a chip like ours should power it nicely though.

Pure AOSP Gingerbread Rom For The Epic......

Hey guys im a budding xda dev with a lot to learn and I decided to take a shot at creating a 100% stock Android 2.3.3 rom for the epic 4g. Anyone interested in seeing this happen.....I've made a little progress already.....
I would LOVE to see this.
Isn't that what CM is?
CM7 is heavily modded......This will be the exact same software found on the Nexus S......
Absolutely yes!

Great to hear u guys are interested....the more people the better I feel about taking on this project.....
This would be absolutely awesome! I'm almost ready to give up on my epic because there isn't a rom that I'm happy with, but I'm a complainer, not a do-er. So I don't have a right to complain. This is so different from the hero. But I would love to see a aosp rom that is functional.

Actuallt I am lying. I'm on the syndicate rom and I'm having pleasant experience. now that it is themed.

COOL )))))))
DO IT DUDE!
I mean, CM7 is great, but having the option of an actual PURE AOSP ROM would be great! Please take on this project, and good luck!
Agree. Pure gingerbread would be great

Can't see the pics or the link from the app lol
It's not the real ics launcher. It's by SyndicateApps. The same people who made the honeycomb launcher.
Its too laggy for me. I ran it all day yesterday and ended up sticking with the honeycomb launcher
Its boring IMO, I hope that this isn't really the ics launcher. which means I hope those leaked pics were fake lol
Posted by Mr. Z's Epic 4G Touch+Keyboard
Yeah, I mean the way it looks now it does, but with those leaked pics we dont know if there were customization features or stuff like that that weren't shown, which I hope is the case. It looks like they're keeping the sexy holographic style from honeycomb.
I added a video
Thanks to qbking for the video

It's not real... The developer of this launcher got an email from the Android Market Team and was suspended or in Google terms banned from the Market.

Yeah, and Google won't tell them why either. Don't let this keep you away from their apps.

Perhaps because it's giving a false look at Ics? Or maybe (I truly with every fiber of my being hope not) they were close to the actual look of launcher for Ics.
The first one would make more sense to me, you don't need consumers judging the next iteration of Android prior to release due to the actions of a third party developer. Banning them is an unfair way to go about it if that's the case. But it would make sense.

Any app like uber music?

I don't know how many 2010-11 android users we have(it seems like we got hella n00bs lately- no offense), do you guys remember federico? Launcher pro creator (he was rewriting the app), he made uber music, which looks great and a lot like windows phone metro ui, fede hasn't make any updates since last year, almost a year from now, idk where he is and I don't think people do, so I guess his apps are still there but not updates, so I was wondering if there is any app the does the same with music control on notifications an extra features

Mostly yes.....give it a whirl, see if it works for you. I had it installed before.....think I got rid of it due to battery life though.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I'm definitely loving it the battery life seems to be good. Everything works perfect except for 4 g. And that's definitely not an issue for me since I have no 4 g in my area.

by the way in case anybody wants to know the launcher that I'm using is called holo launcher. It's just like apex and Nova. But you can use it on gingerbread. Ya know I just wish we had more options for EL29 roms and gingerbread roms like this. It runs sooooo smoooth. It would be awsome if a dev picked this up and finished it! I dont think it has a lot left to do either. Refine the kernel for better battery life and add some cyanogen settings that are missing. I wish I could dev.

Why call it a sheep phone? Does it make you feel good to insult people based on the phone they bought? I own an iphone, also an android S3 and a windows 7.5 phone. Am I a sheep, a lagdroid fan and a broken window?
When you get a gf, son, you will realise that they are only phones and that you can judge someone by more than what phone they use: p
