Will rooting my device remove provider lock? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hi Guys,
I bought a Galaxy S3 that was meant to be unlocked, if I root it or install a custom ROM onto it will I be able to get rid of the lock?
Thanks.

No it will stay locked...untill u enter the code /& with a micro att sim or such.. if u root or root n flash a rom... u still need unlock codes.... if u have a contract u can ask for the unlock code for free....(from carrier).. if u dont have a contract..then u can pay for the code... I dont know the best sites... cuz I get my unlock codes for free threw tmo.... im sure if u can't get one for free... someone here will mention a site that does unlocks....

[Q] SIM Unlock on RunnymeadeAIO ROM?

Sorry for posting whats probably a common question but I have RunnymeadeAIO (v6.0.4 S.E) on my Desire and I need to SIM unlock it before selling it.
I tried the 'SIM Unlock Utility' (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943726) but it doesnt recognise my phone as a Desire - guessing this is because of the ROM im running.
Is there any way to unlock my phone, preferably for free? If not whats the best paid option? I'm at the end of my T-mobile contract.
Thanks all!

Unlocking Rooted phone

Hi guys
I have just asked o2 to unlock my samsung galaxy note 2 which is rooted. Is it gonna be ok to unlock it or is there gonna be any problems?
First wrong section.. Ask question in Q&A section.. I don't know why people never think.. "I want to ask a question.. Where should l post my question?.. In general(information section) or QUESTION AND ANSWERS"
Second.. By unlocking what you mean? The carrier? I don't know the legality of doing that in your country but there's several (free) tools in the play store to get carrier free your device..

I have seen the B option. It is only 2.49 which is nothing to be honest but I think you didnt get my question. I was thinking the unlock could cause a problem to my phone because it is rooted. I think it will be fine. Thanks anyway

[Q] Unlocking the At&t s3 for tombile[need help]

to step one and i looked in every folder i dont have a nv_data.bin file. i also tried googleing it but that took me to some website to pay for an unlock code which i think is a scam, is it? but i would like to do it for free is there any other tutorials you guys can link me to? and help me. and Will i need to cut my Tmobile sim card so it fits in the S3? it doesnt seem to just fit? Please help thanks!
Follow instructions in this thread to unlock your S3. I have done it, and it works fine (as long as you follow everything).
Pretty straight forward.

i want to update my ics

Hi guys,i have this phone which is unlocked..on the back it says at&t but it works on my number here in Montenegro(Europe),so i want to update it..i cant update it with OTA,so my choice is up to Kies..but i am afraid if i update it with kies that my phone will lock for that at&t and i want be able to use it,is that true?Does anyone have experiance like that,i d really use a help. Thanks
If your phone is indeed unlocked and working in your country as of now, updating its firmware will not lock it back to AT&T.
In others words, flashing a ROM does not affect the lock status of a device regardless of the mean used to flash it.
Happy flashing!
This is completely true. A phone that is unlocked for use on other carriers will stay unlocked no matter what firmware is installed on it...and this includes the stock versions that are available via Kies.
Thank you for quick answering,i appreciate this

As long as its a T-Mobile t989 s2
go to http://techerratta.com/browse/twrp2/hercules
Download 2.6 tar file and use use Odin to install, and remember the phone is only as crappy as u let it become, u could always use kies to update to official 4.1.2
