I know its hard for some to fathom but what he did was try and make you understand that you are asking about something that even if he knew or anyone else at this time it would be speculation. He is also merely trying to get you to instead of starting a new thread just do a little research and find out these answers.
The bottom line is you want to know something and he said to find your answer maybe you should simply look it up. In my eyes he tried to help you and hopefully before you post again you will do a search. If you do that then his mission here on earth will be complete.... LOL :victory:

Cool Brightness Shortcut

So I was just messing around with my phone and I found this cool way to change your brightness settings without having to go into settings. So besically all you have to do is slide across the top bar of the phone (where the time, battery, and data signal notifiers are). But do not pull down the notification bar just slide across the bar sliding to the right turns up the brightness sliding it left turns down the brightness. It works on GB and ICS. I dont know if this is a known feature or if samsung put it in there or if its just a glitch but i just wanted to share it.

[TIPS] Samsung Galaxy S III: 15 Power User Tips

Hello members,
Every once and a while I come across an interesting article that is worth noting such as the article titled "Samsung Galaxy S III: 15 Power User Tips" over at PC World. There were some well not so known tips and great features that were listed in this article that wowed even me about the Samsung Galaxy III. Dont take my word for it, go over there and become informed. If you know of any other tips that were not posted, please do share the wealth.
Some examples are such as :
Save That Screen Retrieved from this article here:
"Take a screenshot. And another. And another. Taking screenshots with the S III is a snap—all you have to do is swipe the screen with your palm. So go ahead, take some more. And some more. And, well, you get the idea.
Other Android phones don't make it quite as easy. If you're using a phone running Android version 4.0 or later, you have to press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons at the same time"
Make the Phone a Flashlight
"Stop digging around your bag in the dark, hunting for your keys.
If you have your S III in hand, you've already got a flashlight. The Assistive Light widget—which you can add to your home screen by going to Apps, selecting the Widgets tab, and choosing Assistive Light—turns the camera's flash into a flashlight when you need it most. Some other Android phones have this widget as well.
Want to add the flashlight feature to your Android phone? Check out Tiny Flashlight + LED, available as a free download in Google Play."
Oh yes, here is a great one that I did not know of......
Wake Up in Style
Let's face it: We all have to get out of bed sometime. And what better way to face your day than to be prepared for all it has to offer.
Using the "Briefing" setting on your Galaxy S III's alarm clock, you can have your phone wake you by reading the time, weather and weather forecast, news headlines, and any appointments you may have lined up. To turn this feature on, go to alarm type in the settings menu and change it to briefing.
Not a Galaxy S III owner? Download WakeVoice from Google Play to get some of these features on your Android phone.
Regards,
A lot of those are pretty obvious now that the phone has been out for a while thanks anyways tho.

well did the phone in the video look like your s3? i didn't think so. the uploader doesn't even know what he's doing.
if you had read on "many sites", then you would've discovered that it is a brand new OS that has not been released yet. and currently, the only supported device is the Galaxy Nexus. of course, ports and such will always get to the other devices, but as of now, no other device (including our Galaxy S III) are supported. if you really had read, then this thread wouldn't have been made.
not trying to be an a$$, but seriously...
I did read and I saw it was only tested for nexus on the ubuntu site also I read the headline of the video stating it was on the sg3 you are focusing on the reading aspect when in fact it was a mistake by the video poster and just cause they haven't released any type of ubuntu mobile version doesn't negate the possibility of a leak which was my original hope :/

Need an inventor

Searched around I dont think anyone has done it.
but usually when you are working/browsing/whatever on your laptop and you receive a notification on facebook even if u check it. the notification remains along with the bln lights
it is annoying having to recheck it and swipe it from our phones each time
Theoretically this is possible right?

I may be wrong but the phone would need to communicate with the computer via the Web browser or a server that's installed on the computer.. Then the phone would need an app installed that can view and manipulate individual notifications, and can communicate with the computer either by wifi or bluetooth..
Now.. I have no idea how to do that but I'm sure it's possible
Good luck!

No not a remote control.
Consider the scenario of you sitting in front of your PC and having your phone next to you.
they are both connected to facebook, Google+, xda ... etc . when your receive a notification, you will get it on both devices which doesnt make sense !!
you should only receive it on one side. logically, the pc

because it is not really the next big thing.... The HTC one is awesome, and people *****ing about locked boot loaders... That's only att. You can even get a developer edition. Best phone out at the moment no doubt. Gs4 is disappointing really, same old cheap plastics, same blend design...

In the GSIVs defense, its amazing compared to the s3. Its much better all around, with hardware that more than doubles the US GSIII variants and a design much more reminiscent to the Note 2 than the GSIII. The One is amazing too. Don't know about the build quality anomolies though.. the GSIV may be plastic but it sure doesn't have build quality issues like the HTC One.

If we allow everyone posting about "good-byes" from one phone to another, the threads would be full of nothing more than that type of "good-bye" or "hello" stuff.
This is a development site. Not a place for opinions of one brand over another which lead to hard feelings or arguments over device loyalty. Leave that stuff for social media websites.
