Data Not Working Today? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

For some reason my data connection funked out today. It has worked fine on the ROM, kernel, etc. up until this morning. For some reason I can't get it to work today. Anybody else with this issue?
I would download and reflash the radio, but at work I can't download things and my internet on my phone is (obviously) down. Hopefully this will fix it when I get home.

Have you tried toggling airplane mode? Rebooting?

Data isn't working for me either on stock rom. I didn't change anything today that would have caused this. I'm on AT&T.

Yes to both. Have tried the following so far:
Toggled data on and off.
Toggled Airplane on and off.
Rebooted.
Powered down, pulled battery and booted up again.
Restored previous fully functional nandroid of a different ROM through CWM.
So far no luck. I am unsure what would cause the radio to stop working with no apparent changes on my part.
Occasionally I have the H or H+ showing above my radio signal, but other times it disappears. Even with it showing I can't connect to internet, tried Browser, Facebook, and Tapatalk. Signal bars are grey signaling that connection is not made to Google servers. If I stay on home screen the H+ will return, but if I start an app like Facebook it disappears again or it just hangs on loading.
Very odd behavior.

Sounds like it could be an AT&T issue then, because I am also on their service. I will try to give them a call after work, I suppose.

this happened to my wife's gnex as well, on AT&T. haven't seen any other posts regarding this issue in the 4.2 thread. she's rebooted several times without a fix.

For me it doesn't have anything to do with 4.2, because I am still on a 4.1.2 ROM. I have a few 4.2 gapps but those can't be the problem, either, because I have been using them for a long time (weeks).

Sorry, didn't catch that. So I switched my Note over to WAP and it won't connect to data. Must be an ATT issue with the cingular apn.

4.1.2 here, same issue. No data connection. Took it to the AT&T store and he added a new APN, but it still won't show up as H+. Just "H" and grey bars, as opposed to the blue color they used to be. If you guys want the info for the new APN they added, I can type it out for ya

That solution works for me. I hope this method is safe.. not too knowledgeable regarding APNs.

AT&T here as well, data isn't working with cm10, or any 4.1.2 rom or official 4.2 either no matter what sort of trickery I try, nothing works. I think it is definitely on AT&T's end. Oh well, off to the bar I go!
Edit.. before any smartasses ask.. I also tried dicking around with apns (wap. cingular, phone apn, and the 410 APN as well..., airplane mode, rebooting, nothing works. Located in PA here, there is a tower 50ft from my house haha.

Hmm... same here. I'm on a Cingular Blue plan, using the "proxy" apn. No data even though it thinks it's connected. Anyone hear a response from AT&T yet on this issue?
Anyone have a list of APNs that are dead? (maybe that would be a good start)

Got to be an att issue, mine was the same when I left the house, on microcell it's fine

The link got my wife's up and running. However, oddly enough, that didn't work for a friend who is still on 4.1.2

So far no luck with any of these APNs. I called AT&T and they didn't seem to have a clue what was happening, they also wanted me to call prepaid center since my nexus isn't in their help files. Will keep trying.
edit: looks like i had some luck with the APN quoted in the post above this one, not the picture in the other thread though.
swapping back to my preferred ROM and putting it in there to see if I can play again.

[Q] Connecting my S3 to AT&T data?

Greetings!
This afternoon I received my AT&T branded S3. A friend signed up for AT&T and wanted to keep his old phone so I purchased the S3 from him.
Upon booting up I am able to connect to the AT&T network, however data services are not working. I noticed that it was connecting to the PTA access point pre-setup on the phone so I tried adding the usual AT&T WAP access point (wap.cingular.com). I have had many "international" phones before so I am accustomed to setting up all of the settings myself. I am stuck here though as I am unable to figure this one out.
I would appreciate any and all help!
Thank you in advance,
Matt
data
i received mine today also. i tried cutting my galaxy s ll sim down and using it. i had not data. so i had to call att and it is a totally different data scheme for the 4g lte. i was on the phone for 45 minutes before all was fixed. i had the old grandfathered unlimited data plan and it was looking bad for a while, but they finally did some checking and over rode the system to modify my current unlimited data plan to work with the new s lll. i have never had a problem with the service i get from att, today was no different, they fixed me up and this phone is sweeeet. so it may be your problem also and have to switch to the new data for the 4g lte.
Solved!
Called AT&T, first level support tried reprovisioning my account (turn off phone, wait 2 minutes, call back), had me setup voicemail and then tried telling me my SIM was not a 4G sim (I cut down my old SIM, by old I mean 3 days old). Eventually got escalated to true tech support, they wanted to reprovision my account again, I let them know we just tried that but I'd be happy to do it again. Lo-and-behold this time it worked!
No change of data plan necessary, I had the 2GB plan from before.
I also had no date, but i just added a new apn and it worked. Try this:
Name: AT&T US HSDPA
APN: phone
Proxy: <not set>

I sold my Skyrocket like 2 weeks ago for this. Living with iCrap (iPhone 3GS) for 2 weeks was god awful experience (I gave my iPhone 4 to my wife so..). I'm like in heaven now....
ordered 6/6 premier, blue. bayarea Nocal. It's delivered like 2:15PM.
I hope everyone gets what they want as soon as possible....
Just had a buddy try the wap.cingular settings and it worked.
looking to use my S3 without calling in and changing my phone type. Leaving it at iphone so i can use both with no issues.
Does anybody have the full apn settings? is there a separate one for mms?

You need reprovisioning. PTA is the correct apn And necessary for lte. It will slow down all the way through 4g3g and edge. Mine does.

[q] help! Urgent!

Hi, I'm in the United States, using AT&T on a telus branded galaxy s3
unlocked using the jelly bean unlocking trick...
trouble is, now it won't hold a call and will disconnect at random times
saying that i'm "out of network area"
It will reconnect to the network soon after (a second or two after my call disconnects)
but will repeatedly drop calls soon after...
I can't get a call going for more than a minute!
So I tried buying an unlock code from cellunlockers.net,
and got one.
But the problem is, I can't input the codes either...
It says connection error or invalid MMI code...
So i can't input any USSD codes...
So here are my questions:
What can I do to fix this issue?
Can I lock the phone again and undo the jelly bean unlock trick?
Thanks in advance!
I don't think it has anything to do with unlocking the phone, if your phone is locked you can't place a call. it has to do with the network you're on. Have you considered that you might actually be "out of network area"? Do you have the proper apn settings?

I'm currently on stock rooted 4.1.1,
and this problem has been happening for
the month and a half or so i've had an AT&T sim card
in my galaxy s3...
Under APN settings, there's only one APN,
Cingular 410
You need to add the proper APN for AT&T. Just search for att apns and you'll find them here on XDA.

Ok. So it seems as though you are not giving enough information for anyone to efficiently be able to help you. Please provide as much info as possible. You said you are on AT&T (Not the gophone plan). You need to find out what APNs that the gophone SIM uses so that you can enter those in the APN Settings.

Is there a way to make the SCH-I545 Verizon S4 work on the T-Mobile Network with LTE? Which does have the LTE Band 4 on the phone.
I have the HSPA+ working but it does not send MMS... Only my Voice, Text, and Data work.

I didn't test MMS, SMS or anything, but see my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397984&page=2 LTE worked fine for me last night. Mind you, I'm on an MDK (Loki-able) phone w/ ME7 ROM and EMJ7 radio flashed. I used APN Manager Pro to edit my APN, I did nothing but add the fast.t-mobile.com APN, and it worked immediately with a T-Mobile $30/mo data prepay SIM.

I'll be traveling today and might be carrying several phones/SIMs to play with. If I have a chance, I'll give MMS a shot. You definitely need your MMSC set properly or MMS isn't going to work, though, I can tell you that much.
I'm experiencing the same problem, same phone. I also do not have an MMS protocol setting available to change. I'm guessing this is the issue. Does anyone know how to change the MMS protocol on this particular phone? Or is there another issue at hand here? Thanks for the help.

[Q] Network Connection Intermittent. Radio, Modem? Not APN.

Hopefully this is where this post belongs. It's almost the same as AT&T.
I purchased a Note II (SGH-i317 M) locally used. It seems to be having signal issues. Everything seems to be working normally except the radio. The previous owner said he installed CM on it and began to experience issues, and restored to 4.3. I didn't inquire on all the details.
The phone is supposedly originally a Bell (BMC) phone, and has been unlocked. The IMEI appears to be clean to Bell and Swappa.
When I first got it it was occasionally registering as H+ with one bar. But very very week. I read 4.3 has all the carriers in one package, which explains the Rogers and Bell apps installed. I changed the CSC to BMC and now it's only installing the Bell apps. It's also reading my SIM and connecting automatically with "Browser" APN which is like half filled out.
I manually added these APN. I pulled these from here, but they are the same APN I am using in my two other Note 2s.
APN Name: Bell LTE
APN: pda.bell.ca
Proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
Port: 80
Username: <Not set>
Password: <Not set>
Server: <Not set>
MMSC: mms.bell.ca/mms/wapenc <--- with http in front, can't post URLS
MMSC proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 610
APN type : <Not set>
It is showing LTE and web browsing usually works, but calls and texting isn't happening. This is occurring at my house, but as I drive around town it will stop working. If I dial *#06# my IMEI shows, and matches the sticker in the back.
So what have I done?
I tried rooting and installing another ROM, I erased the data and such and reinstalled 4.3. I used ODIN to flash 4.3. I have played with APNs. And changed the CSC as mentioned.
Now I am a complete noob, and I want to learn but I need some, or a lot, of help. So I am asking all the Note II gurus on here to help me out.

sending mms tests while on wifi ( t-mobile)

Seeming to have an issue sending an MMS message while connected to wifi. They sit at the little clock icon not sending our nor recieving . Soon as I turn off the wifi the issue goes away and pics send quickly... Anyone else can attempt this?
Am I really the only person having this problem?
I had an issue earlier today, corrected by adding a new T-Mobile LTE APN with the T-Mobile MMS settings properly added to the MMSC field and mms added to the "APN type" list.

I'll have my 10 tomorrow so I can try. Wifi texting works fine on my S7e so I can check the settings.
I'm also having this issue with the unlocked 10. During initial setup I chose T-Mobile as my carrier and now the APN settings are locked. Even when I add a new APN with the correct MMS settings, it won't allow me to select it.
thanks for the APN worked great. have you gotten wifi calling working? i keep getting an error when it pops up.
I don't have this issue at all. I turned on airplane mode than turned on Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi calling was enabled. It worked like all charm. Calls, SMS and MMS all went through immediately. I just set up my phone normally and chose tmobs as my carrier.
