I was just looking for a dark and good looking JB Keyboard,
but I couldn't find a simple dark keyboard as I had found for my ICS.
So I just copied the conted of the drawable-xhdpi folder from my
ICS-Dark-Keyboard to the drawable-xhdpi folder of the JB-Stock-Keyboard and the AOSP/AOKP Stock Keyboard.
So the theming-credit goes to someone else I don't know by name, but I realy love this stock looking dark keyboard.
My contribution is only the idea to put it into a 4.2 Keyboard APK and make the flashable ZIP
hope you like it, have fun guys!
in some cases it can cause Keyboard FCs so Backup before!
if you've played with your DPI it could happen that you will not see any changes because this Keyboard is JUST for XHDPI (320DPI)
Check your Keyboard APK Name and ROM-Type before you download and flash!
Download flashable ZIP
(pick your fitting version from my Google Drive )
Do it yourself way for every ROM and everyone who can use a ZIP Tool:
Code:
- Download res.zip from my Googledrive
- extract your ROMs Keyboard file (LatinIME.apk, LatinImeGoogle.apk, no matter wich one you have) using a Root Explorer
- copy your keyboard file to a PC
- open your Keyboard file with 7-zip (open Source)
- go to res/drawable-xhdpi and drag&drop all the files from the res.zip's drawable-xhdpi folder you've downloaded
- put back the changed keyboard APK to your phone, copy it to system/app and don't forget to change the permissions to what it was before
Thats all, no magic required!

Where to download? Is it a zip or apk? When I click on apk it does nothing

What do want with recompile?
All I have made is copy some PNGs to the XHDPI folder in the APK I've opened with 7-Zip

added deodexed Version

does anyone want a CM 10.1 Version but gesture typing still don't works in CM's LatinIME version

I'm gonna help you out.
Here is a VRTheme flasher with the integrated png's. You can flash it over any ROM. It doesn't overwrite the LatinIME.apk - just the resources in the app.
It works for LatinIME.apk and for LatinImeGoogle.apk.

Brainmaster! I love your Lucid version of Rasbeanjelly. But after flashing, the keyboard in your rom doesn't quite match the pictures (the text on buttons is blue?). I actually came to this thread trying to get a dark keyboard to match the rest of your ROM. But this VRTheme flasher didn't actually work on darkbeanjelly.

Thanks, I didn't noticed it. Gonna fix it in the next ROM.

I was testing Infamous 2.6.5 ROM and theme from "Only Infamous 2.5" section "AOSP LCK.BAT%.MOD".
The Infamous2.5 Theme works on Infamous 2.6.5 but the icons on the toggles bar didn't change.
AOSP ICS theme:
FYI, Color series "White" for Darkside.V7 seems to work with Infamous v2.6.5 ROM, same issue with icon toggles not changed:

I'm on the 2.5 theme also and it's quite good. The quickpanel settings app (toggles as mentioned) are still in green and the power menu is not all in blue (though the restart submenu is perfect). Otherwise, it looks great!
Edit - also the vibrate icon when silent is enabled is grey instead of blue (not sure if that's theme or rom).
Anyone willing to test my Touch0Color theme on this rom? Please PM me and i will send you a link.
Thanks.

If you want the toggles to theme also, just download the zip file to your computer and open it with 7zip. then navigate to MORPH\system\framework\
Inside the framework folder will be a folder called Darkside-res.apk rename it to Infamous-res.apk now the zip will theme your toggles.
Also to avoid any other problems navigate to MORPH\system\app\SystemUI.apk\res
inside the res folder delete the resources.arsc file.
Now any of the color series themes should work on Infamous v2.6

I open my toggles apk with 7 zip and hate to say that I do not see a MORPH folder. First let me confirm that I am working with the correct file. Filename "14toggleLE1-Blue.zip" .. I open that file with 7zip and have the following:
system/app containing "quickpanelsettings.apk" and "systemui.apk"
and
system/framework containing "lk95-res.apk"...
where did I go wrong??

I did not make that zip. You would have to extract the drawable-hdpi folder from ik95 apk the theme you want. And also the drawable-hdpi folder from the infamous.apk folder from the rom. Then replace the images from the rom apk with the one from the theme you want. Use 7zip to put the new drawable-hdpi folder into the infamous.apk and put it in the flashable zip file. Delete all other apk's from that zip before you flash it and it should change your toggles.
If that's to confusing post the theme you want and I can do it tonight.

Swype BETA themed (Themed to nearly 100% Sprint 2010 Swype beta theme.)

2. Install Swype Beta on your phone.
3. Download the themed Swype Beta from the link above.
4. Place on SD card.
5. Push the themed Swype beta to /data/app (using any type of root explorer) of the phone's internal storage and set permissions to RW-R-R.
6. Reboot and you're good to go.

I got a flashable for second keyboard. The Swype Beta is complex because it requires you to have the installer running for the swype portion to work. No matter what, you'll be required to install the installer and log in, but if you can make it so the keyboard is placed in /data/app, then that would help.
P.S. I can easily change the buttons to blue, I just need help editing .so files because that's where the line is orange.

UPDATED 12-23-12
DOWNLOAD
-Flash in recovery
Just a reminder, this is for STOCK LJ7, either stock ODEX or deodex
So, if you just want the center clock:
-Download the respective zip for your system (if you 're on stock ODEX, download the ODEXED version, vice versa for DEODEX)
-Extract the zip
-Go to the /system folder and delete these folders
Code:
/csc
/framework
/etc
-Navigate back to the root of the extracted folder (should see just the META-INF and system folders)
-Select both those folders, add to archive (zip up both those folders)
-Place newly created zip on SD and flash in recovery
Just want the Camera no shutter menu mod
-First, mount your /system partiton on your phone as RW (you can run this script as root if you don't have a file explorer to do this)
-Navigate to /system/csc/feature.xml
-Look for this line
Code:
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>false</CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
-Change it to true, so it should look like this
[code]<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>true</CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
-Reboot to apply changes
Just want the Messaging Mods
-Download zip as per your system
-Extract it
-Navigate to extracted folder and go to the /system folder
-Delete the following folders/files
Code:
/system/framework
/system/etc
/system/app/SystemUI.apk
-Read the above How to on re zipping your folders

And Now, the new Black Collection ( Updated 18/02/2013) :
Installation:
1) Download the Zip files
2) Put the ZIP file on your SDcard
3) Reboot in Recovery mod
4) Select flash Zip files
5) Select the Zip files
6) Reboot
If, After flashing the zip, you dont have the theme, its probably because your rom have the 4.2 keyboard by default with another name.
For get it work, just go to /System/app/ with '' Root Browser'' and delete ''LatinIME.apk then reboot.
I can take some request for another color.
Thanks
Thanks a lot for this. If you could, please make it available in more colours. A glass black-ish for a start would be great

Hi strategikqc,
I followed your instructions and I after flashing my keyboard is still the default color. Any other instructions needed? I am using Omega V34 [ELKC]. Is this compatible with Omega?
Thank you

The 4.2 keyboard is universal and work with all rom.
The probleme you have its because your rom have this keyboard by default and the name of the apk are different so your rom only use the keyboard installed by default.
For make it work just use root browser lite or any root explorer, go to /system/app and find LatinIME.apk and rename it to LatinIME.apk.bak.
Be sure you have the themed keyboard installed in the folder (LatinImeGoogle.apk) and reboot.
If you prefere you can just rename "LatinImeGoogle.apk" to "LatinIME.apk" in the zip file than reflash.
I will rename all apk in all zip files soon for better compatibility.
Thanks

hello to everyone!
I want to share my last softkeys
These are in a unique WHITE version (however various custom rom may change colors),
but as you can see, I added the shadow, so they are suitable for both light and dark backgrounds!
Manual installation:
When I want to change icons or buttons, usually I "fetch" and override its png from custom rom that I'm using...
.... overwriting the original systemUI using RootExplorer or similar directly on my Nexus
my "TRIBAL KEYS"
Morph theme (for all 4.4 roms)
Morph theme (for all JB roms)
I hope you like...

I think everyone in this forum knows how to do ...
each with its own knowledge ... ...
I always proceed in this way:
- Fetch the file \system\app\SystemUI.apk from my mobile phone
- I open it with 7zip from the PC, and I position it on \res\drawable-xhdpi
- drag new png icons on 7zip opened folder , confirming the changes
- close 7zip
- I copy the updated SystemUI.res on mobile phone
- Overwrite it on the original (on \system\app\) using RootExplorer (or equivalent) with relevant permits.

For what it's worth, you don't need a pc to do this if you use zip themer. Use a file explorer to extract the apk find the image, make a new one, use an existing mod and replace the images, rezip mod and use zipthemer. I have a thread with instructions on doing this.

I have read various threads on this, but personally I prefer my method.
It seems to me more direct.....

There's no right way. If it works it works. I didn't mean to dispute your method, rather to inform people that there are various options. I sometimes build mods when I'm away from home. So I like the flexibility. It avoids the need to transfer things back and forth. Though I do more detailed image editing on a pc.

Ty for sharing op. Looks awesome
updated amount of keys in first page!
I really like the softkeys! But I can't flash them with zip themer (because it doesn't find SystemUI.apk), neither can I manually add them to the apk, I mean, I can, but as soon as replace the original SystemUI.apk with the one I modified, I get a bunch of FCs and lose the notification bar and softkeys. I have to reboot and restore a Nandroid.
Is it because I'm in Kitkat? SystemUI.apk changed its location, it's now under /system/priv-app/, so I guess that's why zip themer can't find it. I tried doing it manually twice. So sad, haha.

do you update edify in zip themer with your kitkat rom? I don't know is just a suggestion.

Hi! Yes, I did. And it updates without an issue. It's just when trying to build the theme that it shows the message "Some items will be skipped due to missing system files... /system/app/SystemUI.apk".
Because of the message I noticed SystemUI.apk is no longer in /system/apps but in /system/priv-app.
Thanks for your answer.
