[KERNEL][UPDATE 21-11-2012] LJA TWiz-JB-OC - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

*** D I S C L A I M E R ***
This is a work in progress...
I am not responsible if you flash this and your device gets bricked or anything happens to your device from flashing this.

Instructions:
1. !!!MAKE A BACKUP!!!
2. Flash the kernel.
3. Wipe cache / Dalvik
4. Enjoy and post results!
This is a OC/UC/UV enabled kernel, build from TMO Samsung JB(4.1) Source. Am just learning the basics and this is my first job! Hope you like and enjoy!!
Note: My desire is stock reliability with oc/uc/uv benefits. This kernel wont have all the bells and whistles, my goal is a daily driver beast. Enjoy and hit thanks if you like!
Tested on: FrostyJB v9
Everything i tested work(i did used samsungs source...)
*** C H A N G E L O G
v1.1c(optional)
Same as v1.1b
Doesn't remove KT's apps (but keeps the tweak so you don't have to re-flash full rom)
v1.1b
Fixed uv table
Added missing 192 step in some freq tables
v1.1
Added more UC steps (192, don't know how to limit cpu on bootup, adding 2.1 wont let me boot)
Insecure image
Added Governors (pegasusq, interactive, smartassv2...etc)
Added Schedulers (sio, vr)
Added read-ahead (1024kb)
GPU OC (480Mhz)
Higher L2 per freq step
Don't have to flash rom coming from KT's (djintrigue808 zip tweak)
v1
Initial release OC/UC/UV
1.89Ghz Enabled
*** T H A N K S & C R E D I T S ***
ktoonsez (provided source from his git)
agat63 (lots of help with the unpacking - repacking script and initramfs)
djintrigue808 (provided an amazing rom! and the base for flashable zips)

Creepy Bugs!
Open to discussion!Source:
https://github.com/sairegsx/sgh-t999-jb
Note: Am just a regular Joe, not a programmer or developer, i read KT's source and added by try and error(by myselft) what is working on this kernel because at that time there was no other stock based kernel with OC and i guess no one was working on one and that's what i wanted, it worked so i decided to share it on the place from i have taken so much. I hope you enjoy!!

If this does work well, you should let DJ include it in his next update, or mention it on his OP (giving you credit for it of course)

Perfect thanks

I love open source mentality, as soon as i learn how i will upload the source to git
But he def. can use it. Is free to take. But i want to know if it will work for everyone like it should.

great! keep doing tests, and this can be one of the top stock kernels in no time

so to try this i have to be rooted?

Yes, because you need root permission to use apps like SetCPU / OV to change the cpu clock speed.

Yes, I will update first post.

Working good on frosty jb v9.1, temps range 29c-32c, oc up to 1890 using set cpu, profile set up with setcpu too, haven't tried undervolting yet. No fc or rr or crashing/freezing, still testing batt life, i'll try to post back again.

This is an ODEXED rom
Rom comes with SU and Busybox binaries but has no superuser.apk.
The app I have is too old and I didn't include it with rom so I won't overwrite any updates you guys might have.
If you flash this rom without wipe, and you can do it if coming from any other TW rom you will have superuser.apk installed and running.
If you perform full wipe before flashing this rom just log in to play store and download superuser.apk.
That's all you will need to keep root access in place.
tFH13_v0.1.0 AND tFH23:
1. Touch of ICS.
2. Themed mms, contacts, settings, systemui.
3. International SGSII bootanimation
4. init.d script.
5. build.prop tweaks
6. GN grey background in settings (thanks Ben's for help).
7. GN touch tone (Thanks Ben's for help).
8. GB updater-binary to make it safe to flash in any recovery.
9. Debloated
10. Hotspot hack
11. I'm sure something else that I'm forgetting.
12. New kernel AGAT_v0.4.5
13. New recovery tREC_v0.2.2
14. tFH23 comes with repacked FH23 kernel.
Install instructions:
1. Download rom
2. Check md5
3. Copy to your SD Card.
4. Check md5sum again.
5. Flash in any unlocked recovery.
6. Boot to system.

I have two questions. 1 Do you disable the scrolling cache in the service.jar? 2 do you plan on uploading the kernel by itself or are you just keeping it packaged with the rom? Thank you for all your hard work

Hey agat I wrote this in ur kernel thread but thought I'd put it here too. So when I restart phone it always defaults to ondemand governor. I'm using smartass but it doesn't hold on boot and I have to change it manually. Not a huge deal cause it does stick after a manual change but thought u should know.

By the way I'm running this rom and only having this issue with new 4.5 kernel.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Thank you!
Will certainly have to give this a go when I get back this afternoon! I'm sure it rocks.
Have I been blind or are there some new cpu settings to adjust in the 0.4.5 kernel??
Other than that it seems to be running fine. Before I flash this rom I decided to install the kernel on my Goodness install to check it out. I can confirm it is running well and it seems to be holding it's settings through reboots using extweaks. Here are my settings so far:
Default gov: pegasusq
Scaling freq: 50-900
Suspend max: 500
Suspend min: 100
Cpu uv: -25mV
Default i/o: sio
I'll update this report if I find any issues. Thanks again Agat for the great work you do!
Thanks for all the good work Agat..... Still waiting for tsg3.....
I flashed this rom and have it set up with extweaks with the above specs and all seems good to go.
I also did the 1x/3g mod using the file from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30397216&postcount=23
and the instructions in the OP to install and test it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1682112
I also added the Hoolm round battery while I was at it. The only thing I must warn about is it breaks some of Agat's theme. I looked a bit but I can't figure out what images I need to swap back to make it the way it came with the rom.
This is the 1x/3g zip file with the added Hoolm battery.

None of this is my own work, I wanna thank Nivron, dtm_stretch, Crawj and of course Agat for putting all this stuff out there! All I did was patch it together...

Some ppl seem to have issues with reading so here in big letters
this will work on anything AOSP based (cm aokp pa etc ) built after October 14th .
Please keep in mind Jelly bean is a work in progress
What s new in KKO.12 ?
3.049
BADASS governor .
kko.11
mostly synced with CM for vsync and other driver stuff .
FAST CHARGE V3.1
3.043 source
Vsync zcache
clean cache
_OC up to 1.944 Ghz (experimental)
_BFQ - NOOP - DEADLINE -VR -SIO etc (IO schedulers )
_Zram
_Lots and lots of Governors
_GPU OC
_ability to 'over volt up to 1400 and of course Under Volt control works as well (use system tuner free in the market )
_bln support (of course)
_mpdecision
Things to come : TW Compatibility . more governors more fixes
I would just like to point out they are much more features in this kernel then what is specified , I cant even begin to understand myself some of the tweaks that I have pulled from other kick ass kernel devs, but please if you have understanding about topology mpdecision and that kind of stuff feel free to have a look at my source and explain to others I will post in the op
Here is my source

First of all I have made this kernel for my device the US version of the galaxy note , and there was lots of interest from skyrocket users to have an OC kernel .. So I made one for them and then I received many pms within the hour of release that you guys out here would sure like to have one to....
Since our devices are all cousins well here you go ...
this will work on anything AOSP based (cm aokp pa etc ) built after October 14th .
this zip was first created by H0tw1r3 then modded by instigatorX so you guys coudl flash skyrocket kernel on your devices .
this has been confirmed to work on your device already and doesnt need the 'rotation fix'
here is better understanding about kernel features :

Thanks for the build bro
was just about to post. beat me to it!
Seems interesting. Just flashed something like 5 minutes ago but screw it!! Let the factory resetting begin :victory:
Is this a new build or the same as was posted in the CM 10.1 thread?

Solid for 3 hours. Disabled Focal and restarted. Camera working.
My boy pwncakes at it with a solid release, nice man!
:fingers-crossed:

Works fine on my desktop. Are you downloading from your phone?
ALSO
Flash this SU if you need to use Titanium Backup (TiBu) for restoring apps http://download.chainfire.eu/345/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.51.zip

rom and gapps are there? read, read, read!
Flash this SU if you need to use TiBu (or root access in general) http://download.chainfire.eu/345/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.51.zip
Worked for me and credit to a user in the CM10 TMO thread for finding this fix
mirror for anyone having trouble downloading the file from the op, and for the sake of it. (;

:good:
(@OP, it might be a good idea to add this to the first post) There IS ROOT access. To enable root access, go to "settings>about phone" tap "build number" around 10 times. Then go back to settings, and tap on "developer options" and enable root access. BUT for TiBu, you will need to flash the superuser zip from a few posts above mine.
Edit: I will quote the post for less confusion.

Guess I'll have to try on PC cause all I see on phone is 2 gapps, cherrypicks and that mirror is useless on phone. I'll have to do it on a computer like a caveman lol

I just put my phone into Browser mode(using Chrome) and I'm downloading just fine.
EDIT: I'm also able to download thru the phone.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the issue......
In app there's no ROM link. Have to use webview.
I'm retarded is the main problem

[KERNEL CM11/Carbon4.4.2/AOKP4.4.2/CM10.2] Chaco kernel 20140116

Hello everyone.
This is my first job.
Kernel based on 3.0.101 from Maclaw's source. Tested on my 8190L
It should work on 8190 as well.
kernel-Chaco-20140116
removed plug in do_io_submit() to improve asynchronous I/O latency
enabled TCP congestion control with Westwood+ set as default
kernel-Chaco-20140113
enabled RCU priority boosting
added VR scheduler
added Sioplus Scheduler
added some optimization flags
compiled with Linaro 4.7.4 modded by christopher83
kernel-Chaco-20140109
based on kernel 3.0.101 from Maclaw
ramdisk extracted from Maclaw's boot.img
added ROW scheduler
compiled with Linaro GCC 4.7-2013.11
multi-core scheduler support
enabled kernel size optimization
LZO as kernel compression method
ramdisk compressed using LZO
chosen SLUB as SLAB allocator
I would be nice if you try it and test it.

Did try it on 10.2 after backup. Now, I cannot even enter TWRP recovery. Any ideas?
EDIT: I managed to recover my phone with Odin. Anyway, do not flash on 10.2.
I will try and report after test

This is 4.4.2 kernel you flashed on 4.2.
Find Odin flashable kernel for 4.2, go to download mode and flash it. For any recovery to be bootable you need working kernel.

I am glad you liked it.
For now I am thinking to add more schedulers and a couple of governors. Actually I already added vr I/O scheduler, I just have to recomplie it.

don't know. I think that depends of what you want. Performance, battery saving. At least, I use hotplug + row and with that I think my mini is as fast like a thunderbolt
But battery goes as fast as the phone is right now right?
