4.2 OTA updated failed. Log sayd it is something related to sdcard- - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello, I'm trying to update my galaxy nexus to 4.2 but I'm getting an error. Here it is what the log is saying:
Fiding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Instaling update...
Verifying current system...
assert failer> apply_patch_check("/system/bin/sdcard", "c06958d726ae0ba560904837ac2896066589b6d8", "4a3747579b0cef3aadec7ed95b30a013af5197ba")
installation aborted
After some time searching on google, I discovered that it was because franco.kernel updater changed the sdcard file inside system/bin. So, could anybody help me? I know that the major thing for me to do is restore this file, but I don't know how to get it in first place, and after I get it, the forum I was reading said that I need to set permitions to this file (more specifically these rwx,r-x,r-x ).
Could anybody upload this file to me and link me to some forum explaing how to set this kind of permissions? Sorry, I know it's lame, but I couldn't find it.
Anyway, thanks for at least reading this.
---------------------
Before anybody coments: No, I'm not using a custom kernel. I have a back up of the stock 4.1.2 kernel which I restored to my phone.

I resolved this by flashing the system.img file from the 4.1.2 image, and then doing the OTA update again.

WOOW! I was thinking in doing this, but I thought I would screw all my phone! Anyway, thanks! I already have the image here. Really, thanks!

Did you lost something? Apps, images, nothing?

[Q] 4.2 update failed

Yesterday I try to update my GN from 4.1.2 to 4.2 using CWM to install the upate patch.
But get the following message when verifying the update patch:

I got the update patch in /cache/ I copied the patch to sdcard root and install zip with CWM. And I have tried to download the patch from google. Still got the same message.
My GN is 4.1.2 now and it is a stock rom updated from OTA.
Last time I failed to update the GN from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 is due to the kernel. After I changed back to stock kernel it is fine to update with OTA and updated to 4.1.2
But this time I can't update it. Still got a red "!" when updating from OTA. And got this problem when using CWM recovery to update.

Both are valid options, just make sure permissions are set right.

Nope .. it's power.tuna.so for this error - got the same here and unfortunately i'm have no backup from it from 4.2.1 - replaced it some day when trying another kernel as this file is altering the governeur settings in some kind of way. even more crap is that it's not restoreable from a stock image as there was a patch in 4.2.1 applied to power.tuna.so ... so extracting it from an older image will not solve this problem..
so .. does someone has the actual power.tuna.so from 4.2.1 for us?
EDIT: I'm an idiot .. of cos there is a full image of 4.2.1 - i have extracted the power.tuna.so and replaced it accordingly - update is running fine now.
Shared for all of you here -> https://www.dropbox.com/s/cvq3kmipq2w7ym7/power.tuna.so

Here is the 4.1.1 stock rooted OTA. It is a flashable zip. Flash in recovery. Wipe cache/dalvik only. Reboot then update to 4.2.2.

if im reading it correctly, your radio doesnt match the radio it should have if you were stock.
EDIT: you clearly modified system files because of that.

Okay, well then how do I fix it?
flash the correct radio for your version/model.

downgrade

I have a problem with my os. I' ve install android 4.0.4 on my galaxy w. There are many problems, so I want back android 2.3.6. If i try to install any custom rom 2.3.6 it failed.
Can someone help me???
You have to give more information than just "it gives problems". What kind of problems? What kind of errors? What you tried to do and didn't work?
If you don't give any information is impossible to help you
Care to provide us more info..I see no reason why a ROM upgrade esp. on ICS can give you problems as compared to use stock ROM.
Care to provide :
1. Which ICS ROM you are using ?
2. Did you do a Titanium BackUp of Apps (previously on GB)
Please advise :good:
I tried about 4 roms from xda-developers and i found about 2 "official firmwares 2.3.6" on any other pages.
Every time it said:

(bad)
Installation aborded.

Maybe your zip file is damaged.
check theme for errors and download them again.
If not answered go for odin flash.

This is the message you get if you try to install a Rom zip file using the stock recovery,as you have found is does not work. You need a cwm recovery for rom zips and stock 2.3.6 roms need Oden to be used for installation.

Flash Stocked Recovery But Cant Update OTA to Lollipop

I did the same routine I've done to date which is flash the stock recovery with the right CID, then download and run the OTA however for some reason the update doesn't stick. It shows the green progress bar in recovery mode and then I get the red exclamation until the phone reboots itself with the old version...
Any idea why this is happening?

There could be dozens of reasons for that... Hold volume up and Tap the power button to see the installation log and you'll see the error that caused the update to fail.
It says package expect xxx user release keys but device has guy release keys.... Basically the release keys don't match? What does that mean?

Are you trying the Developer Edition OTA? What version do you have now? (I mean x.xx.401.x , x.xx.1540.x , x.xx.707.x etc) can you do a getvar all?
What version does it try to update too?
Also I don't think that's the full error, doesn't say much. Because for all I know it says "Device expects Brightstar US xxx -release keys and the device currently has HTC Europe WWE xxx - release keys. Just saying the release keys means nothing.

That is an error log from someone that had a similar problem before. Leaving everything out and shortening it to just "user release keys" tells me nothing mate.
The error log you just posted is identical to what I received.

I think that installation is just detecting that you're not on stock rom of some kind. After hours of trying to fix the problem I just:
1. downloaded a stock rom for my model
2. restore nandroid of stock rom
3. unroot (just in case)
4. restored stock recovery
5. re-locked the bootloader
6. updated using OTA automatically. Don't try to download and manually install OTA files if you're S-On, it just won't work cos the it's broken.
The key is just installing unmodified stock rom from a nandroid backup with absolutely no new apps installed. Anything else and you run the risk of it modifying the rom.
If you figure out how to trick the OTA to install an already downloaded OTA, to save on bandwith of having to re-download after a failure, whilst on S-On, please tell me how cos it would greatly save time. And before you ask, Sunshine, for getting S-Off is incompatible with my M8 Asia model, as you can see from the error log above.
