[FREE] 50GB Cloud Storage w/ Box.com - Nexus 4 Themes and Apps

To get 50GB of storage at Box.com all you need to do is download & log into the Android app (apparently limited time offer) and you're automatically bumped to 50GB.
I got a buddy of mine set up with this where he uploaded his music to Box (since he doesn't have a computer to do it with he downloads music to his phone using the uTorrent app legal sources of music) and I have him using CloudAround Lite to stream all of the music from his Box account to his phone. It has some pretty sweet capabilities to stream from just about any cloud storage (only one allowed with free version) and lets you decide how much to cache on your phone (number of songs unfortunately, so you can't simply limit how much space the phone can use of your storage.) Plus the interface is not so bad either. It needs a bit of tweaking but the dude seems pretty interested in getting your feedback.
If you don't mind spending some coin, there's also FolderSync which is amazing for so many creative uses of cloud storage since it allows for one-way (to local or to remote) and the option to delete from source after sync which is pretty neat if you want to (for example) always have your pictures uploaded on to a cloud storage but not take up space once you have taken them and two-way sync which is just useful if you want to use it as backup type source.
Anyway, this definitely would help with the lack of storage regardless of what options you choose and makes uploading music to the cloud pretty easy and also gives you the ability to do what Google Music can't do: actually would let you sync music from your cloud storage on your virtual storage.

Does anyone this stack with the 50GB I already received for installing box on Touch Pad?

Unfortunately, no it doesn't stack.

Nice, shame it's got a 100mb max file size upload limit for free users though.

Thread regarding this already exists in general

Windows Phone 7 & Skydrive

Ive been preparing for wp7 i downloaded the zune software and now i have a skydrive account my question is how do i upload music files to my account? i can upload everything else except music? im lost here
and also when skydrive works on wp7 how will it be will it take a few mins to load up your files from the cloud or will it be like files u have on a storage card and instantly be there likke their on a storage card
you cannot upload music to skydrive. does not suppports music.
pics and docs can be upload to skydrive. phone will stream pics from your skydrive and it will automatically lower the resolution depending on the phone's resolution and screen size. all this will be very instantaneous assuming your phone is using a 3G connection.
Music files will sync via the Zune software to your internal storage (no sd card in WP7), but I guess you can stream music via an DLNA server too? Not sure...

Photo upload software/apps

Hi,
Was wondering if anyone knew of a good app or method for instant backup of your photos/videos without having to manually copy and paste while connected to PC.
I'm currently using Google+ and it's instant upload feature to back everything up but would like something different since some of the pics I don't want to share with the world/google.
I'm fine with paid apps as long as it gets the job done, but free apps are always better.
default setting for google+ instant upload is private. so you're not sharing to the world, but only to both google and you.
if you don't mind to spend some money, "dropsnap" app is quite good for instant upload to dropbox (free 2gb cloud storage, can pay if want more)
Dropsync with Dropbox works great for me. As soon as I connect to wifi all the photos on my phone are uploaded to my private photos folder in Dropbox.

[Q] USBStick size recommendation for XBMC + Apps + Few games

Looking to make some space for the FireTV using some USBSticks. Trying to figure out what size would be recommended on a full regular XBMC setup & streaming apps & some games. (Not to many of the huge ones)
I have not install XBMC yet. But want to have the storage setup. Plan to us the StickMount method. But trying to figure out what size USBSticks I should start with. Don't want to go to small or to big. Trying to use the USBSticks I already own.
It is for 3 Fire TV's. I can either go 4GB + 4GB + 8GB Or 8GB + 8GB + 16GB Or if XBMC takes a ton of storage 16GB + 16GB + 16GB. I can just stream larger stuff like movies from a network drive connected to my router.
I will install some games & apps but not the huge ones. Read somewhere that the XBMC thumbnails can take a large amount of space. Want to avoid Low memory issues from the get go. Any info or direction would be appreciated.
Send your thumbnails to your NAS, I have no additional storage in mine, not a lot of games on it though. XBMC, a bunch of addons, all the prerequisite rooting stuff, a couple apps, few educational games for the kids... Still 2.5G free...
That should work... Guess I should run naked until I am on the last GB on the FireTV. One of the FireTV's will be wired to the router. Got any speed hit from accessing thumbnails on wifi ?
I run everything wired normally. If I'm wireless, it's a much smaller library and wireless has not been an issue.

By library do you mean local media. I thought the thumbnail issue & low memory issue was due to XBMC streaming thumbnails taking up a lot of space cause of quantity?
Well, I have two setups (Home and Offline profiles).
Home - This is my main profile, it uses my MySQL DB server for it's library, and SMB shares for the actual video files as well as the thumbnails. The library contains some 5500 video files, and the Thumbnails folder takes up about 2.5G of space.
Offline - This is a travelling profile, with the library stored locally (userdata\database) and videos and thumbnails being stored on a USB connected hard drive. In this mode, the FireTV is also a wifi hotspot for my tablets, etc, sharing out the videos.. Depending on the length of use, I might have about 100 videos on the USB drive.
It's a different setup though, you're right, the FireTV is all using local storage, it's the iDevices, etc that are wireless. That might not be a good example to answer your question, however those same iDevices while at home use the same large centralized library (and thumbnails) and they are of course wireless. They don't struggle with the Thumbnails too much. Yes, they are a bit slower, but not horribly. Honestly I figured it was more because they were slower devices than wireless.
But, yes, one reason why people were having trouble with space was storing thumbnails in the userdata\Thumbnails folder within XBMC. As you can see, my library could take up over 2.5 G of space on the FireTV is left alone. I didn't configure it that way for the FireTV, that's always been my setup. I've got about 6 or 7 devices that all share the same content, so it made sense to have one library to feed them all. Thumbnails being different on different boxes caused me to centralize that.

Sound like an awesome setup. But I don't have anywhere near that amount of content. I usually delete things once watched. Right now I am looking into this:
CWM Flashable: Mount external USB storage to /data and /sdcard as the best solution for the low memory problems.

Do you have a step by step for how to send the thumbnails to my NAS and have XBMC access them as needed? I think that would solve some storage issues for me if the mount script I have been trying doesn't end up working like I want it to.

That has all the info.. Don't forget to delete the Thumbnails folder on your firetv once you changed the location.

Please help me with this hacked version of Pandora

Hey there folks. I'm in need of some assistance with trying to crack into Pandora further than it already has been hacked. You see, I have this newest version of the Pandora One music app that I got from a friend and it's great. This hacked version allows you to sign in and run Pandora like you bought Pandora One and updates like the OEM version does without any issues. This version also allows you to stream the audio quality in 320 kbps, do unlimited skips, it has no ads, and DOES allow you to use it more like Spotify... via favoriting songs as a Playlist and downloading the songs directly to your phone. When you click on the "like" button, it also gives you an option to download the currently playing song to your phone (which downloads in about 10 seconds or less at full 320 kbps quality).
*Here's the tricky part*
When the songs download, they get automatically downloaded to your phone's internal SD card memory and stored into a folder named for the style of genre/station you were listening to. So if you were listening to your self-created station based on a particular artist such as "Thievery Corporation Radio" or you were listening to any of the automatically-provided stations such as "Dubstep Radio"... songs would be stored in the approriately-named folder in your internal SD card "Music" folder via the following path below.
..... /storage/emulated/0/Music/Dubstep Radio
So now that it is known that songs are stored in your phone's internal SD card's "Music" folder location, does anyone know if there's a way to change this and force Pandora's downloads to be stored in a particular folder you created within your external SD card instead... exactly like in the "Save To" directory settings on the hacked "OG YouTube" app??
I have uploaded the hacked Pandora .apk to this thread, so if anyone can figure this out... have at it and please repost to this thread with the edited .apk to install. I have no idea how to hack/crack apps and add options that the original app would never give you/have access to. My main purpose with this is to take out the step of moving songs from my internal to external SD card.
Thank you.

Not good...using cracked/edited app is illegal and with my small knowledge of this great forum XDA moderators/admins will not tolerate/entertain these activities...You can be barred from this forum for uploading or spreading cracked apps...
Peace....

It's not that serious bro.... the guy just had a simple question. You take things too serious. Maybe you should mind your business. Because he simply asked a question about how you can change the storage location. He didn't ask u if it's ok and legal to use a cracked app.
Obv it's illegal but they got modified everything. Remember when rooting was taboo? Smh. If you ain't gonna answer a question... keep ya 2 cents buddy.
No need to reply to this. Your response is not wanted.

Hey buddy. I know this an old post. I'm wondering the same thing. Did u ever find a solution??
Viviana
Nah, no one has helped since my original post was made back then. To this day, I still use the "modified" Pandora (One) and I still have not found a way to change the storage location route it automatically takes by default to save music files.
To anyone interested in taking a crack at it with the app, PM me for further "discussions."

XDA does not support nor allow piracy.

Really f###ing annoying!

OK here's the problem
As you all know Google went the IDIOT route and chose to give us a 32gb and 128gb option
128gb sold out QUICK so of course some of us are stuck with a 32gb phone
So naturally I bought a type c flash drive to store my music
The problem is I can only play it through a file manager like "Solid Explorer"
Yes this works but it isn't intuitive AT ALL
You can't browse other songs while one is playing among other essential needs
I used the "USB Media Explorer" app and yea that worked but it is hideous
I wanted to know if there was a way we can get "Google play music" or another DECENT music app to be able to read the flash drive when plugged in
Anybody recognize this problem and have any luck so far?
Dude, Poweramp. Why would anyone use any other music player on Android? I've tried them all and it definately reigns supreme imo

RocketPlayer - because it integrates directly with iSyncr and allows me to rate songs directly on my phone, which are then passed back to iTunes on my Mac.
Why Poweramp other than because it 'reigns'?

The entire point of this is to have files stored locally so you don't have to use a data connection to play them.

Well the way it reads.. he wants to play local music files.
Maybe he doesn't know Google play let's you store 10k songs on their servers... That's the reason the pixel is 32 gigs with no external storage... Google has cloud solutions for all media. And if streaming is a issue because your not on a unlimited plan then the 128 gig is the way to go or another phone.
Google really F'd up the ability to play music files from external storage.
I've been pissed about it for a couple years now.
There is some usb_stick_mount app that someone like Chainfire or someone else developed.
It helps a little but was designed for older images.
Dammit, I'm all pissed again now just thinking about how badly Google F'd up on this external storage (USB drive or USB stick) access.

I know Google Music has the option to download songs to external sd card. I wonder if the flash drive would allow that too.
Yeah, I hear the OP. I ended up giving in about a year ago and went all streaming instead of local files. I have Verizon and yeah I pay a bit more but I have a hefty shared data plan and my fiance uses very little of it, so I never get into trouble with data limits.

Poweramp doesnt let you choose the correct path
The music from a flashdrive is in mnt/media_rw and thats not an option
I tried poweramp and musixmatch
And for everybody bringing up streaming or cloud storage which also needs to stream
Im from NYC and im on the subway VERY OFTEN i cannot stream underground and i dont want to download my music from google play for obvious reasons
I bought the flashdrive in order to free up storage
I just want to be able to have a decent good looking music app play music from my flashdrive
I seriously dont understand how this isnt natively supported
