[Q] SMS from PC - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

For our work process, we send SMS to our customers via the phone so that there is a chat log to check the conversation history. We have a custom code in ms Access (vba) which the program automatically process the message we want to send.
With the button in ms access, it will use the software myPhoneDesktop to send a message to the iPhone. This iPhone will in turn decrypt the message and set the message in the SMS app so that the phone number and message are in the right place. All we need to do is to press the 'Send' button on the iPhone.
We now want to upgrade to the Note II and wonder if there are anything similar. There is a MobileGo by Wondershare which has an excellent SMS function which we can send SMS directly on the desktop (the messages are also logged in the SMS thread so it's exactly like sending through the phone) or Moborobo which does it similar.
What we need now is to make a similar function in ms access to automatically send the message through this software so we do not need to copy and paste the message ourselves. I have thought of using macro, but it will have to record mouse clicks and everything so it's not efficient in the long run.

Ufff... I'm sorry I can't help more, but the only thing I can think of are:
1) Use an app that allows you to send an email, or reply to an email (which is actually an SMS Forwarded from your phone) and having the reply be sent as an email.
2) Samsung Kies Air and Airdroid offer sending SMS through its interface.
But I don't know of anything that can help you through Access :s. Sorry

Install MyPhoneExplorer on your gNote-II and MyPhone Explorer (PC Client) on your PC. With this now you can use your PC client to send SMS. Further, you may integrate the PC app with your MS access for further needful..
Google MyPhoneExplorer for links...

I am not sure whether I understand the question correctly, but have a look at MightyText

Push e-mail.

Hi,
Firstly, this is all new to me so please be gentle!
I have read varies threads about "push email" on here and feel totally confussed about the whole thing.......so felt it was best to explain my "vision" of what I want and find out from one of you guy's if its remotely possible or just stupid....so here goes.
I would like my Orbit/e-mail account set up in a way that would allow the following.
e-mail would be "pushed" to me via outlook on my Xda.
My home/work PC would not be any part of this process.
When e-mail is "pushed" to me it would only show the header and give me the choice of viewing the attachment at a later stage if i wish. This would reduce potential data cost.
I don't mind if it means changing my email address (currently with UKonline).
My work colleagues could send mail to my "PDA email addess" and it would then be "pushed" automatically to my PDA without me doing anything.
The process would be free/cheap.
.........if this is possible would someone PLEASE give me step by step instructions of the process and specific software that I should use.
Many thanks in anticipation
Rob.
I thought I'd answer this as I've tried a few methods.
basically, here's what I did,
I got an application from a company called qore. This is a piece of software that triggers a send/receive on receipt of a certain text message.
I'm with T-Mobile, so they have a system that sends you a text message when an email is sent to <your number>@t-mobile.uk.net. If I remember correctly you get the senders details and some of the message.
So, I set my outlook at home to automatically forward all my emails to <number>@t-mobile.uk.net.
The mail application from qore, intercepts the text message I get from T-mobile (there's an option where you tell it to look out for certain characters in the text message) and then triggers your unit to do a send/receive (over GPRS) and retrieve your email.
All this is done without your knowledge. i.e. you don't get an indication of the text message, you just get an indication that your mail has been received (if you have set up notification of this).
All other text messages are received as normal. so the qore program only filters out the specific one you tell it to.
sadly, when I tried it, it was a little hard to set-up as it kept intercepting random messages. maybe they have improved on it by now.
I think what you need is an account here:
http://live.mail2web.com/
basically you can point your "pda email" account to an address with mail2web and it should get pushed to your pda
I tried it out and it worked, but I dont really need it so haven't used it since. It does mean you will use some extra GPRS as I believe it maintains a "heartbeat" connection ( I think that was how someone explained it !!)

Push Email
1. Register a Hotmail account and use the included Microsoft Pocket MSN software it works!
2. Register an account with http://www.consilient.com it's free and allows push mail from many services...
Hope this helps..

Um. Help. I just got tasked with answering these:

My manager who thinks I'm a TP2 expert sent me this, could you guys help me out with what to tell him? Im new to the phone myself, but I wanna give him the right info. THANKS to any who answer any question. Much appreciated.
Questions:
1. I use Outlook Mail on my laptop to manage my emails from multiple accounts (Verizon, 2 Gmail, one Yahoo). I do not use it via an exchange server. It’s basically the place where I pull in all my emails and from which I send out emails.
However, as such, it has more than 4000 items, many of them with attachments.
I obviously do not want my phone to sync with Outlook Mail if it means my phone will end up trying to hold all those emails
However, I do want to be able to use my phone to access those accounts AND in some instances be able to retain on my phone a copy of select emails that I will want to have access to when I don’t have my laptop with me (e.g. hotel reservations, etc.).
At present, it seems I can only do that if I keep the email on the server at V, G or Y. But is there some way that I can:
a) keep the email on the phone, independent of whether or not it’s on the server;
b) copy the addresses, text and links from the email and store them in another document somewhere else on the phone so they can be referenced and used?
2. I use Outlook Calendar for my calendar, task management, etc.. And in that sense I would like to be able to sync with the phone, make calendar entries on the phone (i.e. after a phone call or text message) and then have that sync with outlook later, etc., etc. How can I do that?
3. I also want to synch and cross enter contacts – how?
7. I get a new email. But when I tap on it to read it, I get a message telling me the text will be available the next time I download; but sometimes even after I hit s/r again, it still won’t open. Sometimes, when I clock on it it shifts to reply mode and in some of those cases I can see the email that was sent but the text of which I couldn’t see before. In other cases, that still doesn’t work. If I click reply, same split results. Odd. In any event, if the email has arrived, shouldn’t one be able to view the text the first time one tries to open it?
11. Can I delete an email from my phone without it deleting the email from the server?
I want to keep it on the server, but I don’t want to clutter up my phone with the email

Yes, can sync with multiple pop/imap accounts
Can be set to download only last weeks or todays etc

Create a new sub folder in each accounts folder structure on the device and copy the mails for retention into these folders

Copy and paste into word doc on the device

Only sync your calendar not your mail with activesync
Contacts will be merged between PDA and PC

Configure the mail app to download entire message including attachments, not just headers

Code:
Again options in the settings for the mail app on the PDA
I want to keep it on the server, but I don’t want to clutter up my phone with the email
Click to collapse
Advise you look into the detailed configs and get a better understanding of the settings available for mail on the PDA, all the features you want are available as standard.

Email Messaging on HTC Touch Pro2

Hi All,
Say, if i do emails on my tp2, i send the email out and forget to bcc me, i forward the email to myself separately. I only get my signature without the full contents. Wondering if this is normal??
Is there any way we can configure the client or alternate programs to like pull emails like from 9am to 6pm instead?
Kinda like Nokia's default email client on e71s, i can choose when and how to download emails. And at the same time have an option to automatically send me a copy of the emails.
Thanks alot in advance or sorry if this is a stupid question..
EDIT: Is this a known thingy? Will wm 6.5 be addressing this issue?
1. When I forward mails, the entire message is included. I can think of 2 reasons why this isn't working for you.
a. You use Windows Live email (ie Hotmail) and you didn't toggle on the setting in Windows Live to include original message when replying/forwarding.
b. You've only set to download the email headers. You need to download the full message from the server before forwarding to include the whole message.
2. You can schedule your email push/pull between specific times of the day only if you use Windows Live or Exchange.
I know many people like to bcc themselves on all emails but you can just check the Sent folder as an alternative. I guess it's just a matter of preference...
My work email is primative pop3/smtp.. I'm using the default messaging on the htc touchflo3d, not the windows live.
Hmm.. i'll try the down entire message thingy..
Hi,
Have tried to use download entire email messages... still the same.. when i forward the email out.. it goes until only my signature.. does not forward the entire message
anymore ideas??
I was wondering that perhaps it may be because you're connecting via POP3. But this doesn't appear to be the case. I just tested setting up my Gmail account via POP3 and I can forward messages just fine.
After you tap on "Forward", you should be taken to a compose screen where you type in your recipients. If you scroll down, do you see the original message in full?
thats the thing... i can see the whole email in full.. theres teh "edit original sender's message" thingy...
but when i actually click send.. it only send out the portion i typed.. -.-
I have sent my phone in for service b4, updated software, hard reset... all the same... maybe i'll try my gmail and update again..
What happens if you tap the part thatt enables you to edit the original message before you send?
same ; ;
10chars
tested with Gmail and yahoo... by configuration, both uses imap on the client..
tested with my other personal email from isp... think i found a pattern..
If i forward from inbox.. everything ok..
If i forward from sent items... only what i type is sent...
i didnt test on imap.. deleted my account.. anyone got any observations??
any help??!?? ; ;

[Q] HELP - Facebook, Outlook + SMS

Hello,
I have a few problems witm my HTC Touch Pro 2.
The first one is with the facebook app. The original facebook app is not working, as it should. If I turn it on and I want to write a message I get only: Fetching. Or if try send somebody message: 104: Incorect signature. Does anybody know where is the problem?
And I found here on XDA FbTab app. I have now FB in HTC Sense, but when I try to authorizate it, it doesn't work again, because it doesn't receive the Fb Code. This app is made by meltwater.
My second problem with SMS. So, it's not a problem but - I would like to have messages from FB, Email and SMS together. Is it possible to write a message and than chose the service? Some app ..
My next problem is with Outlook synchronization. I have on my PC Microsoft Office 2010 and when I try to set the synchronization in Windows Mobile Center 6.1 I get a message, that Outlook is not probably instaled in my PC. What should I do?
Thank you very much, I hope, that you'll understand

Default Email app download the same (POP3) email over and over

Hello,
Randomly and habitually in the middle of the night, my S3 download the same message from the POP3 server again and again.
Example : I'll open the message, mark as read, and then next night the app checks for new e-mail, the message is back again as if I'd never opened it in the first place.I know, i can choose the option delete from server, but I dont want this. My desktop is in charge to delete from the server, not my phone or my tablet
Is it possible for my S3 to act like the iPhone mail app. In others words, download the mail only one time and leave a copy on the server.
Thank for your help....
Same problem here - Tried K9 but it just wasnt for me. Not seeing much else out there
Why does anyone even use POP these days? It's a terrible protocol for managing your email. I'm in the email business and POP users always seem to have issues with email clients and/or losing emails. Use IMAP or switch to hosted exchange
