init.d support is already in my rom, this is why i don't see important to make it native in the first version.
In next release it will be native.

Which ROM? I installed Kernelpan1c Nitro HD ROM and my wife is liking it very much (it's her phone). But she wants me to hook it up with my init.d scripts as she knows how much battery life and performance is improved. However, when I tried to add the init.d forlder manually, the phone soft bricked. I guess I should post this in the ROMs thread, but I am using this kernel, and as far as I knew, in order for init.d scripts to work, your kernel has to be compatable.
I love this kernel but I love to use cm9.
I know the developer here wants to wait cm9 to rc stage in order to make the kernel for cm9, I would like to ask if you can change your mind cos cm9 original kernel is so lagging. Pls help!

no, im used this at froyo 2.2.2 v10a ... once i have a CM, some old version, i dont like it .. i kno, im the only one ... i wait for a NIghtly with this .35 kernel
- back the topic: OC 806MHz stable, antutu benchmark passed etc - i will test higher later
- wifi works perfectly, and i supose wifi responds a little quicker then on oryginal kernel
- rest i see is working with no bugs
- OC with antutu CPU Master
- battery life with no bigger drain
thx ron
Ok ron good work, the phone is a little better but on games it lags is the kernel or the rom stock v10e?
This is a bit off-topic but kinda relevant. Here's the deal, somewhere I read that V10I is not rootable, so just to confirm, up to which version of stock rom is rootable? V10G? Wanna go back to stock rom, root, load kernel (making it relevant)...
So I just went ahead and played safe... Flashed V10G, rooted it and installed the kernel... All I can say is thanks! Blazing fast even the first day it wasn't overclocked... Dont run benchmark tests, I dont trust them, but compare experiences, and by far this is the best!
I'm testing this kernel with Froyo 2.2.2. Do you planning to release kernel v3? Battery life is still bad.
Thanks.

Same to me but battery is drying at night while I sleep.
12% was consumed in 8 hours of sleeping.
Maybe Dev of kernel can add more Governors, like ondemandX, interactiveX.
Edit : I changed governor to conservative and now it's a bit better.

Unofficial-Official JellyBean for P930/935/936 + Sphinx V4.1

Unofficial-Official JellyBean for P930/935/936
Unofficial-Official JellyBean for P930/935/936 - N2 - with working WiFi. Just clean ROM like original from SU640.
Download: (Need minimum 630mb free size on System part )
http://dfiles.ru/files/w4gujg5ef
For information:
For JellyBean ROM for I-Project need 1Gb system size. So when you flash KDZ it will repart you eMMC.
I unpack KDZ from SU640, and repack System part.
Deleted all Operator Apps and Google Apps, remove SecurityCheck, adapt ROM for GSM, and now size of ROM ~ 630mb. And we can flash it via CWM without problem on old partition table and it working with old MODEM.
I ported new kernel 3.4 from LG F120S and SU640, adaptive it for P930.
My port Sphinx V4.1 - 4.1.2 JB for P930
Probably fix copability with different bootloaders;
Rework battery and charger drivers;
Translated to RUS/UKR
Need 646mb. free space on System part!
Download:
http://dfiles.ru/files/1er0nv65u
First patch for Sphinx ROM
Fix some bugs in sound driver;
Fix proximity sensor;
Some fixes for telephony.
Download: Global_Patch_1.zip
Second patch for Sphinx ROM
Fix random boots during sleep;
Added 2 new LG apps: PhotoAlbum widget + Photo wallpaper;
Restore EasySettings.
Download: Global_Patch_2.zip
Bugs:
Blue screen of death on Widows PC (try different mode connections); - turn-off "USB-debug"
Big thanks All authors who made Sphinx ROM!

Will available on my Github later.
Who install ROM please install patch_1.zip
If you delete strings from build.prop
ro.build.target_operator=SKT
ro.build.target_country=KR
you will see new settings for GSM and it remove T Roaming Settings.

Dont know about 2.6.35, but 3.0.x not stable because all using CM kernel for base. CM kernel base on CAF sources, not on LG original sources.
3.4 working very good for me. Battery life and performance on Stock 4.1 are great without any dirty tweaks and patches in kernel!

CM took the lu6200 ICS sources and added display stuff from caf.
The original lge ICS ota was unstable for all iproj devices.
I have a weak p930 that will be the judge of the new 3.4 kernel. It reboots about every 5 to 15 minutes under the ics kernel. I will try when I get sources... No sources, no install...
Can't wait to flash this once WiFi is working
I don't have unlimited data and use WiFi a lot.
Flashed this ROM. It looks very good except WIFI issue. Am now testing battery drain. Looking for WiFi fix.
I've been checking this thread every
Hour for a WiFi fix... I use this as a WiFi only device so the lackthereof is a killer right now for me... That being said if anyone has a lead on what's breaking it I would love to help find a fix for the problem. Really never thought we would see a jb release for our device from LG but I believe it will be a major stepping stone for future development of our P93x's. Once again I wanna thank miroslav and all the other great devs and tinkerers who bust their asses to make our phones into beasts, and I look forward to seeing what awesomeness will come with these recent leaks.

I'm thinking test your ROM, but whats is the kernel included in the zip file?

Others seem to be having no problems. Perhaps its something to do with gapps. I'm assuming you used full gapps. Try the mini or light version of gapps. So long as u done your full wipes I can't see any other reason. Maybe try flash ROM let it boot then go back to recovery and flash gapps.
Edit - OK so apparently light gapps just causes FC'ing I'll link to other gapps when I'm home.
i flashed this ROM with full Gapps in Xperia Arc S, and it's working really fine, until now had twice random reboots, but that's not really a problem to me.
other than that the ROM is awesome. :good:

See I'm pretty sure its the kernel giving random reboots. But with LuPuS or Fusion kernel, WiFi and Bluetooth will not work on 4.2.

No its nAa kernel as I havent started on a 3.x kernel. Of course there is legacy camera like in cm10 included in the R no need to flash extras.

I instal the ROM with full gapps and it is running fine now. In one day of testing I got one fc and one random reeboot. Thanks for the info.

All 4.2 ROMs changed firmware binaries and changed wifiload script. But... suppose I could try get get kernel to install and use old firmware binaries and run lupus wifiload script?? We will see!! maybe I'll push back kernel update until I give it a go and get someone to test.

yea do this as soon as possible. 2.6 kernel + cm10.1 = Super Awesome and stable

Hi,
May I also post on the Pro version here? There is no seperate thread for it.
It's my first attempt on a custom rom after using stock ICS. Unfortunately, I found it to be very unstable
My first attempt was Lupus/v21, now I'm on Fusion/v22. Both seem to be highly unstable. Just using apps is normally fine, but a few things seem to provoke lockups including unlocking the screen, listening to music and using the camera.
I did a full wipe before installing (system, cache, dalvik cache, data), I even tried the permissions fix.
Otherwise it seems a great rom, perfect feature set and very fast, but the unstability makes it unusable for me

Yes u can post here also. Comparing any 4.2 ROM to STOCK ICS, stock ICS would be the winner in terms of stability. 4.1 is the best if you want JB IMO. But 4.2 and especially PAC 4.2 has a lot more features, customization amongst other things. It doesn't matter on the kernel its going to be the same. This is why FXP stopped developing after CM10 for the XPERIA 2011 line-up. It will never be 100% stable as will any 4.2 ROM for Xperia 2011.
I don't know what calls you stabillity, but 4.1 is very stable, almost as 4.0. 4.2 isn't stable specially with 3.x kernels, but 4.1 is perfect. And FXP stop the development for 2011 line becase they have to develop for a lot of devices, i think.

I said 4.1 is stable. And no they stopped because without a stable 3.x kernel it would be impossible for a stable 4.2 J. There was no 3.x kernel for 2011 device back then, but even still they knew if there was a 3.x kernel it would need a lot of work to get stable, if it even can.

But 3.4 kernel is pretty stable now na?
I think that crapy random reboot is the only problem now.

(Q) Which Kernel?

Which kernel is best and most stable to use with stock ROM as I'm new to this device just seeing what other users opinions are that have been using it for some time.
Also does Odin have to be used for flashing is can it be done threw the standard procedure of going into recovery and flashing via install zip?
Thanks in advance

Most stable is the kernel by arco68 made for rooted stock roms.
Yes, some kernels can be flashed via CWM provided they are the correct format.

Would you be able to link that kernel thread as the 1 I have found closest to that was 1 based on arco68 kernel.
Thanks again for the help and responses much appreciated.

Optional: Flash GT-I9195_Kernel_v1.zip to use a custom stock kernel, which might fix battery drain for some.

I noticed that before as I used that guide for rooting but was looking for a kernel with a few more features but if this is the best to date I'll stick with that, thanks again.

You're looking for stability so that's the most stable.
I'm personally using f4ktion's 1.3.6 but that version is currently only for AOSP roms. Sticking with Samsung stock roms you only have f4ktion's 1.3.0 to play with but some have reported that its features (BLN) are not working.
Vikinger Kernel is based on arcos modified stock kernel with the extra of bln-feature. Should be as stable as arcos. Never faced unstability and I am using it since release

Are you talking about his kernel? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47893414

yes
My favourite would be F4ktion's, and I spent the last week on it.
Unfortunately the wifi seems to be broken - works at first, but sooner or later (typically within a few hours) something happens, phone becomes hot, wifi can't be switched off, and everything becomes laggy.
Battery will last two-three hours once that happens and the phone will blame wifi for 90% of battery usage.
Only reboot fixes it, until it happens again.
During the last week I was experimenting with different solutions such as using stock's configuration files (the stuff under etc/firmware/wlan/prima) as well as trying to replace the prima kernel module from other kernels. Nothing helped.
(well, most of my attempts made wifi not work lol, the few that worked didn't fix the problem)
If anyone has any ideas what else to try, it would be great -- the kernel was great otherwise (after lowering minimal frequency down to 160-ish MHz battery prediction exceeded 6 days, and that's before I undervolted anything).
In the meantime I'm on Vikinger's kernel - not because I use its features but because installing it was the easiest way to get wifi working again,
Does Vikinger's custom kernel support performance control where you can change clock support etc?

No
No clock change beyond what stock has, no undervolting.
It doesn't have any interesting governors either.
like I said. It's just arcos kernel with the extra of bln support. you could have get that information from the first post of the vikinger kernel thread. all features are mentioned there
