Case Containing Batteries - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Accessories

I have seen cases for other phones that contain a second battery to charge the phone's main one? Does this type of accessory exist for the Note?

they do,a lot of them exist on ebay and amazon. I think ecell sold the 3500, probably their other wares are good. I'd check some threads here if I was you. I think there is a review on some of them

I don't want an extravagant battery. Even just a case containing one the same size will do. I want it a case for the actual phone though - not a separate "carry battery" to charge my phone off. The thinner, the better also.

I am using a similar case in long trips. Better than external power banks(with cables)

I own the first one in black. It works as advertised and makes the phone feel protected. THe Microusb port on the bottom of the device is a tight fit and faces backwards to the one on the phone. This means you have to pay attention plugging it in so as not to munge the plug. I have two batteries and this case that I take with me when I expect to need to use my device excessively.

I found this one, I am not sure if it is any good or not but I like that it has a kickstand and I like that it looks somewhat like an OEM case.

Right, I ordered this model yesterday
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120972372225?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
It came today.
From what I noticed so far:
- It looks great. Phone fits tightly inside, overall shape is longer and just slightly thicker than a usual protective case.
- Product description mentions some king of a stand. Don't bother about it. It's just a plastic coin-shaped object which you can slide in the hole at the back of the case (you have to keep it in your pocket separately).
- The case can't charge your phone if you're using it. Its output is only 500mA which is not enough for charge and use. The description at the back of the box states 1Amp but the instruction mentions only 500mA. Phone's battery slowly discharges even when the case is on (there is a button at the back to switch it on/off). Of course the overall combined both batteries life should be longer but if you are close to 0% of phone's battery life you are better of switching the phone off, letting the case to charge it and then switching it back on. I'll do some tests tomorrow if it's better to keep the case on from 100% phone's battery life or drain the phone and then switch it off, switch the case on, charge and switch the phone back on. I'll see what gives longer battery life.
- You can charge your phone without taking it out of the case. just be ready for some longer charging times because of those 500mA.
I don't know yet if both phone and case are being charged simultaneously or first phone and then, if the battery reaches 100% the case.
I'll add some photos later on today.
If you have any questions, throw them in.

Seidio 3800 MAH Extended Battery

http://www.seidioonline.com/t-mobile-galaxy-s-II-3800-extended-life-battery-p/bacy38ssg2t-bk.htm
Has anyone gotten this battery yet? Does anyone know if they will make a case for it like seidio made cases for the evos. Thanks
Looks to me like that battery would give an sgs2 the belly bump of a lady at 7 months with two buns in the oven...
Since it's unlikely you'll ever find a case for it, why not buy an extra battery or buy a power skin case?
Using tapatalk on my Galaxy 2 to post this!
Shouldn't it come with a case?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I tried the powerskin and it was a pos, all around the sides wouldnt fit right and the charged notification would beep a lot
I agree with the fit/finish issues on the powerskin case. Wished they'd made it fit the phone as well as the Vibrant version did.
The beeping on charge happens when you connect it to a wall charger that can't provide enough amps for the powerskin case. I've had the best results with the Samsung charger which comes with the phone but it will also charge properly from a computer USB port. The charger that came with my motorola bluetooth stereo headset will cause beeping when connected...
Anyway, I imagine this battery + case wouldn't be that much larger than the SGS2 + Powerskin... So, if Seidio decides to make a case for it I might buy both. Not much action in the US on the NFC side of things right now so having NFC enabled batteries isn't that important to me.
just got it guys....will do a review in a couple of days, but after i put it, set brightness to 100% and it took me about 4-5 hours to get it down to 15% from 46% seems pretty legit!
I ordered the battery, I will do a little review on it when it gets here.

I had the same experience. I had one for my HD2 & it was very well made & the battery lasted all day, but the t989 version felt like a cheap knockoff or something. Sides didn't fit, the leds were different shades of blue, and it died after only a couple hours. I ended up returning it.
Battery is the main problem with all those phones.one good thing they can do is attack a dollar panel to all the phones or make hydrogen fuel celled phones that would be amazing.

hmm thats not that much better than stock for me, my battery comes tomorrow. I wonder if the s2 doesnt charge extended batterys all the way. Are the volts right around 4.2 when its done charging? and how many cycles are you on?
its way better than stock
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
i concur i usually last 13 hours, i'm a real heavy user...when i say heavy meaning...wifi tethering, checking stock every 5-10 minutes via browser, facebook 30 mins, weather every 1 hour, 2-3 gmail account sync, watching youtube every now and then. using Tune in radio usually drain a ton of battery for me too.
i had the camero sinio battery, it seems to last longer than stock battery if anyone want to go the cheaper route.
so far the battery is awesome, I have 86% left and its been on almost 5 hours. thats with light use though. Also After a few cycles it will get slightly better.
Edit: 12h 8 min 78%

How's the fitment of the extended back cover? Any uneven spaces and whatnot?
Are you using the phone naked without a case?
The back cover fits great, and I am not using a case. You have to make sure it clicks in all the way so there isnt any uneven space. Also the phone doesnt get that much thicker because the battery in the s2 is longer so it doesnt even look like its that much bigger. I wish seidio would make a case though.

Phone with extended back cover, compared with TPU case:
Front and back of phone, with extended battery cover on. The cover is quite solid and fits flush with the phone. The build quality is very good, quite similar to the stock back cover IMO.
As far as the performance goes, I'm pretty happy so far. After I got it, I charged it completely, and then started using it. Here is my usage graph so far. I accidentally left TuneIn Radio running in the background overnight, hence the big "awake" section. Even after 16 hours of some decently heavy use, I've still got 34% left. And this is on the very first charge, before any calibration has been done. The stock battery definitely could not last through this much use on one charge.

The phone is a few mm thicker now, but it is still comfortable to hold and does not bother me at all. The increase in battery life is very significant.
Ordered mine from Amazon yesterday. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
Thank you for the review and pics, very helpful!
I am debating to order one for myself or not. I am wondering if anyone knows about these batteries if they have all the stuff built-in to stop charging once the battery is full and something to turn them off if they overheat. I know all OEM/expensive batteries come with all those things included in the battery. I know on Atrix forums on xda or some other forum I was reading on, someone opened them up and tested and a lot of cheap China batteries were missing the features of stopping when the charge is full and turn off when heated and all that.
Just wondering if this is a well known and recognized brand so it won't blow my phone or mess it up. Any info on that part? It seems like other people who bought this brand for their phones are quite happy. Now that you've had yours for almost 5 days, what do you think? Has the life of battery gotten better with more use?
Thank you once again.
I received mine yesterday, and that night put it on the initial 12 hour charge. Started at 40%, and after around eight hours, it said battery full, and gave me the popup notification. (I have a slow charger) Battery did not overheat, either.
EDIT:
The build of the back cover is very good. OEM quality, IMO.
Just ordered it Can't wait!
Does this company have any plans for a case to accompany the bulky cover? I really like having a case on my phone, but if I go with this battery and cover then I wouldn't have that option.

Just buy a new cover if you scratch it. For $15 with an extended battery included, it's quite cheap.
I'm using an invisible shield on my screen to protect it, but leaving the back cover exposed since it's so cheap to replace.
I just got it in and it feels bulky but doesn't look bad. I was tired of my phone dying in 6 hrs so I hope this can last me all day I'll update as soon as I try it out.

The case is pretty much a Kraken case with a battery built into the back. The battery is 2000mah.
With medium usage yesterday it stayed at 100% from 7am to about 1030pm (with using the trident battery along with the Samsung battery)
It is a bulky case..its alittle bigger than a Kraken case, but it feels stronger than a Kraken case. I dropped it afew times and it never split apart like the Kraken did..so they might of fixed this issue.
So ya..figured I'd put this on here since I didn't see anyone else talk about this yet. Atleast when I searched for it I didn't see anything about it.
By the way I got mine on Amazon for $45 with free shipping so you can find it cheaper than the $70 asking price. :good:
Case looks awesome. Looks better than the kraken. I love trident products. If it weren't for purchasing the Samsung 3000mah battery I would totally picked up this case.

Well, I finally got mine and in short I'd say this case is good but not great. I'll start with the Cons First
1. The Rubberized case that comes with it is quite loose fitting so it slips off pretty easy.
2. The case is large for only a 2000mah battery, I feel that they probably could of used a higher cap battery.
3. ***This may only be mine*** The bottom snaps dont stay together all the time which worries me because if they are not snapped properly then the stress of holding the bottom of the case together is on the usb port.
Pros
1, You can use the rubberized case as a stand alone case (although I wouldnt)
2. It comes with a belt clip (again I wont use it, but its nice to have)
3. Comes with screen protection
4. When its all together its fairly rugged
5. It has the ability to select what you charge first when its plugged in (the phone or the case) and when one is charged, it starts charging the other.
6. Price, I found mine for only $45 shipped. Retail is $70 though.
I'll try and post some pictures later.

You're not the only one. My case does the same thing. It's almost as if the rubber inner case is too big for the design on the bottom side of the case. I just sent an e-mail to Trident's Customer Service explaining the issue...I'm hopeful for a reply.
I did the same, lol.
I got mine today after leading a Harlem Shake video at a sales training course. After misreading the instructions, I finally got it working.

Flip Cover with Backup Battery for Galaxy Note GT-N7000

Sounds interesting right? yes, its very much true. I bought this type of cover from local market. I must say the cover has a brilliant design. Also, the way in which it functions is simply superb. I am also sharing some snaps of the cover here. Such type of cover really comes handy in case you are travelling and it is not possible to get charging point.

Since my galaxy note is white in colour, I have a white flip cover. The small dots (5 of them) on lower left hand side is for speakers. The 5 bright dots slighly bigger in size at the lower center show the backup battery power level. This case itself contains a backup battery worth 3800 mAh inside.
The circular button on the lower right hand side is for charging the mobile. Press this button for 3 seconds and then it will start charging your mobile's internal battery using the power of the backup battery. If you want to stop charging, again press the button for 3 seconds.
When you use the external charger with wire, it charges mobile's internal battery as well as the backup battery simultaneously. The backup battery is sufficient enough to fully charge your galaxy note's internal battery once. This type of design comes very handy when you are traveling and you don't have any charging point anywhere.
See how Galaxy Note fits in the flip cover. The design is very nice and made keeping in mind the size of the phone. This flip cover acts as a protective case too.
This snap is extremely important. The mobile needs to be carefully placed inside the flip cover. See the silver colour charging pin in black circle. That needs to fit properly in the mobile's charging slot. Don't damage it.
The flip cover also has a stand from back side. This makes video viewing a brilliant experience. Overall, I liked this flip cover a lot and I can definitely suggest you all to buy it. Its really worth !!!
IMPORTANT POINT TO REMEMBER (my observation after use of this cover)-->
================================================================
Whenever the cover battery and phone battery are getting charged simultaneously, the preference is given to cover battery. Cover battery is worth 3800 mAh and Note's internal battery is around 2300mAh so overall charging time goes beyond 5 to 6 hours. Thats why I use this cover in case I am out of house for long time or I am travelling as it is not possible to get charging point. A day before going out, take the phone out of cover and charge the cover. This will be faster.

Review - Dock and Power Battery

So i bought these 2 bad boys during the discount Motorola had on their store and thought it would be nice to share with you guys my thought of them.
Have used them for almost 4 days now and here are my comments:
The Dock
It's the first dock i ever get for a device so it's been a nice experience overall and i do enjoy having my phone there standing up waiting for me to ask something away. The design is pretty cool and to be honest the color set on my Moto X Dev Edition rides just nicely with the color scheme of it so no complains there.

It is a bit pricey for what you get, which basically is the dock, a wall plug and an usb cable (usb to microusb), have to add that the cable and wall plug was kinda crappy, it made this little noise which for what i know of electronics is a capacitor not working properly so i just replaced that with the OEM cable and plug.
The usb mount part gives you movemente freedom up untill 75 degrees aprox, so that's nice.
Now as for the features or the use of it, i move it from my PC to my night stand table and finally i see a use for the daydream function which kinda sucked for me since they released it. Of course i am pretty much lost on which application can benefit of this feature but as for now having the clock itself helps me out alot when i wake up at night to take a piss - you know.
To wrap it up, i like the dock but i still consider it pricey for a regular user so unless you have the money for it - find an alternate solution.
The Battery
You guys know how the Moto X gets a kick ass battery life, well i use my phone like alot, seriously i kill the battery in 6 hours cause i steam music on LTE, keep FB nonstop plus i have my wireless headset running 24/7. With Kit Kat i do have a bigger drain but meh i really don't care much about it since i can always charge it or use the battery.
It takes around 4 hours to charge completely and it has the ability to charge 2 devices at the same time or at least i believe it does since it has 2 output connections.
It also has an additional Micro USB port which is attached to the powerpack itself so if you don't carry cables with you, it is just the perfect companion. And for the 3000 mah capacity i seriously think this one is a no brainer. Again it is an expensive tool but i honestly believe it could save you when you are out of the city, on a trip or simply out of juice.
So far i have charged it twice and used it to charge my phone once, it still had around 50% capacity which is indicated with little LED dots in the front of it, just above the Motorola Logo. One minor detail, the plastic does tend to catch a lot of scratches, you can see them on the final pic.
In conclusion i would suggest you to grab the powerpack if you travel alot or if you just simply use the phone as much as i do.
Again, there are much more cheaper solutions but to be honest i don't trust chinese batteries, had a bad experience with one of them. Kinda blowed up on me so, noty.
Please feel free to ask anything about the dock or battery i will try to answer and provide feedback as needed.
sorry for the language, english ain't my first.
thanks
Ive been trying to pick up a dock, they have been out of stock all week. Sucks
Nice review
Envy. In my country Motorola doesn't sell accessories and it's impossible to find them.

I'm liking the dock, but i don't find a need for a power battery
Off-Topic: Hey what case is that?
It's a cheap bumper case I got off Amazon, let me know if you want the link.
Agree with you on the battery but i had a $50 coupon i had to use on their store so that plus the discount made me buy those.

Yeah if you don't mind that'd be awesome
And I gotcha. I probably would've done the same

I have a Pebble watch added as a trusted device. Unfortunately, the phone relocks when docked. Major buzzkill of an amazing feature.

The Moto X one? Why/How much?
Are you saying the only reason you got the battery pack was because of the coupon you had? Just curious because I was thinking about getting one of those Anker ones. They seem to do more for the price.
But don't blame you if you basically got that battery pack for free.
On the dock, how much friction is required for insertion / removal of the phone on the USB connector?
