When it comes to modding xml's I am kinda lost
If some one could make one that turns all the test to white!
I can then theme it to look way better!

Ive been trying to learn more about this myself.. Like how to edit .9 images and xmls. I have been searching for guides and just going by trial and error but it seems like im at a dead end.. Cant find enough info to even get started. Editing png files with paint.net is easy, but if anyone could point me in the right direction for a place to learn how to go more in depth with xml and .9s, it would be greatly appreciated.

Theme Help, Looking for PNG Location

I have been trying to find this image and cannot. In the screen shot I am trying to take the progress bar you see in green and go blue with it. I have looked through both frameworks and systemui and anything else I can think of. I can find several twprogressbar PNG's but they are already blue from the theme Im using. Does anyone know where that image is at. Thanks in advance.

try secdownloadprovider.apk
Just checked. No green pngs in it either. Thanks.
Checked both. The actual provider doesn't even have a Res folder. Kinda odd.
Its an xml not a PNG. I don't have a PC right now so I can't look and tell u the exact one but dazed knows. I would send him a pm. Sorry I couldn't be more help but it changed in ICS and without being able to look I can't remember which it is.

Hey that is awesome. Thank you. I throught I was going insane. Its the only green really left and I wanted to try and change it. I'm not the greatest with XML but I can give it a shot. Thanks again. I'll shoot him a PM after while.
Its really easy to change. If u want u can download my theme or Dazed‘s blue theme or an ICS theme and when u know the exact one u can swap them out or you can open them up and look at it so u get an idea. U need to use something like notepad++ to edit the XML and if your going to make the change yourself your going to need to decompile the apk because just extracting it with 7zip or something won't allow u to edit the XML. U won't be able to read it.

Thanks. Once I know which one it is I may do that. The hardest time I'm having right now is decompiling and recompiling ICS frameworks without issues. I am using APk multi tool and for the life of me I cannot get it to see the project. I try to decompile with dependencies and it says select a project so I do. But it never selects. I'll keep playing with it. But if burst knows which one it is that would be awesome. I see he's now in the thread.

Apk manager is the best. I'm tired so too lazy to read previous posts, but the progress bar XML is progress_horizontal.XML under framework-res.apk > Res > Layout.

I just decompiled that and couldnt seem to see that file in the layout folder. maybe im looking in the wrong place?
Edit, there is one in the drawable folder?
Well I changed out the Progress_horizontal.xml and the TWprogress_horizontal.xml from the drawable folder. I used the framework from Tiffs ICS with a twist of Honey theme v1.0. That damn bar is still green. Verified all the PNGs were right. And made sure that I did indeed get thee right xmls switched over. Not sure what else to try. I looked in the layout folder and there wasn't a file named that in there. and ideas?
My bad, it is drawable. For ICS, it might be a part of SystemUI. (They also placed the battery mods in there.) Try those sub folders and search for "progress". I haven't done any ICS theming as of yet, but I think that should do it.

I'm flashing now so we will see shortley. Thanks for all your help. I will post back in just a few with the results.
Nope. OK, time to browse systemui a little better.
Found another one in tw.framework
OK, so I think I know what my issue is, problem in my process. thanks again. post back when i figure something out. if anyone has anymore input its all welcome.

Change Font Colour

Is there an easy way to change font colours easily? I use iFont to change font styles but really want to change font colour so it will work well with bright colour wallpaper.
No as each apk sets the don't color staticly so you would have to edit all the base files and every apk

I would start here. [GUIDE] Want to learn how to theme?

[TUT] How to theme apps in black & white ! |Noob friendly|

Hi folks
I’m learning and keep learning how to theme , so here is what i learned about theming in Black , if this guide helped you please press Thanks Button .
Lets start , you need Notepad ++ , PC and apktool package .
Download : http://d-h.st/gxg
You need to know how to decompile and compile !! before starting .
Method 1
Editing res/values/styles.xml .
Example : <style name="SEMCNotesTheme" parent="@*android:style/Theme.DeviceDefault.Light">
This is Main theme for app ! so by Editing it you will change the theme for full app
This one , to make it black just remove .Light in the end , if you want it from black to white add .Light in the end ,
After editing : <style name="SEMCNotesTheme" parent="@*android:style/Theme.DeviceDefault">
-------------------
Method 2
Editing AndroidManifest.xml
Thats why we dont see any "theme text" in styles.xml ,
Example in backup & restore app
<activity android:theme="@*android:style/Theme.DeviceDefault.Light" android:label="@string/backup_wizard_app_name_txt" android:name=".ui.phone.PhoneMainActivity"
First of all you need to know what this "android:theme" for ?
in the line up there we see "android:name" = PhoneMainActivity so its for Main theme
And this " android:name=".ui.tablet.TabletMainActivity" " for Tablet Mode or Tablet , So its like Main theme
Remove Light for black theme , or add .Light for white theme
Example for black theme : <activity android:theme="@*android:style/Theme.DeviceDefault"
Example for white theme :<activity android:theme="@*android:style/Theme.DeviceDefault.Light"
-----------------------------------------
Method 3
Editing Smali.files ,
Loading , as i said i’m learning
Note : You may use Method 1 & 2 in same app
Extra : How to edit Settings background - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2443226 by @funky0308
IF you have any question please write it
IF you like the Guide please press thanks and write if you tried to theme by following this guide .
Bravo abo ,nice tutorial..

I think you'll find a way.
But I'm 100% with everyone who wanna share knowledge with others.
Maybe when we see thread "how to change fonts" or similar though it's ridiculous but for someone who is new in this world that helps a lot.
So who ever know something - share that knowledge and we'll have great new themers and developers.
