I have had my UAG case for a while now and take the phone in and out at least once a day for various reasons. It is still tight and no chance of the phone sliding or slipping out of the case!
Hope that helps.

No problems here either, have had the case for 2 months, everything fits tight. This is my favorite case for my s3, wish I could get one for my wifes galaxy nexus.

Heck no it wont slip out, shoot i stuggle to take my phone out of the case. It wont sag either its composite case, made of moslty polycarbonate and part tpu

[Q] Otterbox Defender Series

Well I just ordered the Otterbox Defender Series for my EVO on amazon and I wanted to hear some some toughs. I know about the kickstand problem it has but that does not really bother me. I know the case is huge but that doesn't bother me either since the phone is huge by itself. So forum what are your thoughts on it?
How doe it feel? Does it really protect the phone? Any problems you have had?
I had one....the beltclip kept breaking...even though they replaced it for free it was rather annoying....so i bought a ballistic....had no issues yet
Sent from my PC36100
My honest thoughts? I'm sorry that you wasted $50. It is one of the worst quality cases that I have ever come across.
I liked the Otterbox.......dropped my phone from 4 feet onto my ceramic floor with no damage to the phone; though the holster and kickstand are horrible. But now I have the Ballistic HC.
I have 2 of them, one still in the box. I've never used either of them, I put one on my phone to see how it looked once and took it off and put my commuter back on. They do feel like they would protect the phone quite well but they just feel a bit cheaply made for the price they charge. For me, the commuter is the perfect case, I just wish they sold a holster/belt clip for it. I have heard the Sedio holster for the Active works with it, I just have a hard time paying $30 for just a holster.

It is, there's clear plastic (same material the screen protector is made of) over the camera lens and the LED flash
I have one and use it when im at work, I like it alot the camera lenses and flash are protected and the screen is protected at well. I had a similer case before with no screen protector but the rubber wore through and eventually the clip broke. The otterbox makes the phone considerably more bulky but I sincerely feel like I could drop kick the phone and it would be perfect so the bulk dosent really bother me. Its all about what you need the protection for everyones needs are different

Well from what you guys have said it seams like its an okay case but its horrible compared to the ballistic. I currently don't have a case on my phone so at least he otterbox will protect it. Now what are the problems with the holster and belt clip? Does the belt clip break easily or what?
I can't personally speak for this case, but I have the commuter case and love it. easy to pull the case on and off but protects it well from the drops and what not it encounters on a daily basis at work. I also can't speak for the ballistic either, but i'll take a look at it now that you guys have mentioned it
The case does live up to the defender series name, theres only 2 issues I have with the case, the kickstand will brake for sure no if's our but's, and the silicone layer has to be constantly adjusted specially after charging. I don't know of any issues with the holster, I just see people complaining on how bulky it is. But that is preference, I like the holster and it seems very well built.
Sent from my "Bullet Stopping Supersonic “ using tapatalk
I had one, def was not too impressed especially how the kickstand had cracks the day after i bought it. Then there were cracks all around the front screen protector. So, i did a warranty claim got a new one and sold it. Picked up a cyclops and very happy with it. I am switching up to the Kraken tho because at my work we get em for $20 so i figured why not. I haven't had personal experience with the Ballistics case yet but if the kraken fails me i may try it.
I've never owned the Defender case for the Evo, but I did have one on an iPhone 3gs. That was a solid case, but the way it was held into the holster wasn't very reassuring. From what I've seen, the Defender for the Evo seems to have a similar problem. It's just not very secure in the holster.
I DO however currently own a Ballistic case, and WOW is it ever solid. It's also VERY securely held in the holster. The biggest downside is that it's very squared off, very bulky, and a little awkward to hold. That's why I put it in the case at work, but take it back out when I'm at home most of the time.
Defender cases are quite a bit more ergonomic, but that doesn't matter for crap if it's gonna fall out of the holster, IMO.

i think the otter is better then the ballistic, the otter has thicker silcon
Like I said before I use mine at work only, I work for an ambulance company and my phone is subjected to some pretty intense probability for damage but I've had the defender on for like 4 weeks no problems at all and it hasn't fallen out of the holster once I did drop the phone about 5 feet into the snow and and it slid onto the pavement and the phone was totally uneffected I highly recommend the defender!

Rockin' a case, or running naked?

Was just wondering if you guys are or are not using a case, holster, ect. for your phone.
if your are using one if you could say which one and maybe some pros/cons, how you like it type of stuff.
I'm currently waiting on the otter box commuter to arrive, I had the incipio case much like the commuter and loved it but felt the commuter would add the extra protection I need.
Naked. I can't find a good case for my Dinc2 with ext battery.

Naked, for the same reason.
I'm going nude also. I roll with a naked Dinc2 because the slimness was one of the reasons I chose this phone, and since it is on my works company plan, if anything does happen to it I will get a new one no charge (to me that is, my company may get hit with a bill).
Has anybody tried the body glove for the Inc2.

Running naked. I don't like how cases bulk up the phone. Haven't run with a case for many years now across several devices without incident, and my devices have survived numerous drops.
I have the silicone one from the verizon store naked feels too slippery to me i'm afraid its going to slip out of my hand on the subway. Its doing pretty good. dropped it once on the stairs in the subway and its still fine. the only thing that bothers me is sometimes i have to take the case off to use the headphones jack. can anyone recommend another one? (i like silicone cause it lets me get a good grip on it. too afraid i'd drop it otherwise)
Anybody check out the TPU cases for this phone? I also admire the slimness of the DInc2 and was thinking about this as an alternative to both hard and silicone cases.
Cheap on Amazon too.
EDIT...nvm saw the TPU thread down below. Definitely getting one!
Using the Incipio two piece case half the time, the other half running naked just for the slimness of the phone
Naked.
Look at this phone. It's basically already wearing a case. I mean, I know accidents happen but I feel like this phone was designed to not need one.
I have the otterbox defender series and love it. Adds a lot of bulk if your not into that.
Would love to get there extended battery if they would get a case to fit it.

once you scratch that aluminum in the front though you will be sorry. even WITH a case I dropped my phone in between my dashboard in my car and my seat and it scratched the aluminum so I had a nice long scratch of the aluminum. sucks.

Aluminum? On the earpiece grill? That's the only part I can think of that you're referring to...
the whole front is aluminum from what i saw from the scratch. it sure isn't plastic..
the entire casing besides the back case,, give it a run with ur finger nail, once that starts chipping, or you scratch it you will see what i mean, i could be way off with the aluminum but it sure isnt plastic like inc1

It is something close to aluminum or other soft metal, at least that's what I thought. I also scratched the edge of mine just taking off a mobi hard plastic case I bought. Didn't take much at all to make a scratch.
Now, the back is plastic but made to feel the same as the front but I'm pretty sure it's not.

I agree 100%.
if it's the hard gel case from verizon, I bought mine the day it came out, it was the only gel case they had, but they gave me a full refund as there was a Tech Bulliten out fromm what I read here on the forusms, no receipt or anything and it was a diff store and got my money back so I was happy, cmae home and ordered an ottterbox. sucks just from a case the potential for damage is there. hopefully in a few months we don't have a bunch of complaints about this. I returned my scratched device for a refurb. no charge. told them it happened with a case on it. they had no prblem with refurbing it.
Using a cheap TPU case off Amazon for now. Waiting to find that "perfect" case for my prem-case.
I wish they made these for the DInc2. I would pay big bucks for that.

wood? I wonder how well that would protect that. personally I would never put that on my phone. but it's cool. I am awaiting on the otter box commuter to arrive on Tuesday, and I can say from experience, that otter box is very well made cases, and come with a screen protector if you're into that.. I don't use them, but I will give pictures and a review once the case comes and I use it for a day or two. high quality case, can get it cheap on amazon, and great brand name, that isn't bulky. they also make a defender case, which isn't my style but looks like a truck could run over it and be fine lol.

Yeah, I used the Seidio for my Eris, and I am considering it for my DInc2. Never been real hot on the Otterbox look, though I haven't seen one in person. I like my cases low profile and simple looking. Maybe I'll meet an Otterbox one day and fall in love.
I don't even care if the wood case broke the first time I dropped it. If I could find a good one I would rock that thing like hobos rock trench coats and buy another if it broke.
I wood pay more for the case than I would the phone.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Mesh Vent Case - thoughts?

Since a fair few of you will now have one of these, I was just looking to get some thoughts and opinions on one please?
Also I know it can stand vertical with this case on, but can it stand landscape?
Thanks

Yeah, it's a great little case. I bought the black one, and i'm looking at getting a blue one next. Really cheap for official ones from Trusted Sellers on ebay (roughly £7 without original packaging, £10 with)
the only downside is it lets dust through the little holes, so you get a neat little dust pattern on the back side of your phone - a regular removal and wipe on your trousers helps.
I've had one on it for about 2 weeks and I like it, only drawback is I had to shave down by USB connector plastic to get it to fit while the case is still on. I ordered another from dealextreme because it was really cheap. I notice the case just touches the mic area but doesnt cover it up. I like it because it's not very bulky and the plastic 'mesh' back fits over a soft case and makes it rigid and easy to hold.
Good luck for u
Got a generic cheap mesh case from eBay, its pretty awesome but as mentioned above, gets a bit dirty after some long time, and mine is cheap enough to start breaking on corners, had a few falls tho, and that's the purpose of a case, so the phone doesn't break instead
I had this case, it was okay at the start but in the end the plastic on the top corner started breaking away. Also the one and only time I dropped my phone with this case on I got a nasty scratch just above the screen where there was no protection. I had to ditch it. I'm using a plain black tpu case now, much more protection. The advantage of the mesh case is that its so slim.
Edit : Oh yea and its a dust magnet.
Got the original mesh case, I dropped it twice since I got it. First time no damage at all, protected the phone nicely. Second time the phone popped out of the case as it hit the floor (shoulder hight, had a nice spin to it also) but both the case and the phone didn't suffer any damage. So I guess it serves it's purpose and looks nice as well.
Aesthetically nice.
Crap if you want proper protection.
I bought it merely to protect the camera and back when I put the phone down to prevent scratching. For overall phone protection it's definitely going to be lacking as the top and bottom edges of the phone aren't covered. The case clips on easily but stays on fairly tightly. The rubbery material gives better grip when holding the phone. Dust does get in over a week or so over the back of the phone, though isn't noticeable with the case on, and can easily be wiped off. I think the case looks pretty nice, all key areas are fully accessible and for the price of about £8 was worth it.
is not compatible for i9100P
I've just buy the genuine Samsung mesh vent case for my Samsung Galaxy S2 win NFC (i9100P) but it is NOT compatible. My colleague on the i9100, not NFC, perfect fit.
Some ideas?
Light, strong and keeps the thinness we all love about our S2s!
Dropped mine a couple of times on to wooden floors and no damage yet
Protects the camera lens too when lying on a flat surface
The dust comments are true but only noticeable when u take the cover off so no big deal and it fits so snugly it kinda looks part of the phone!
To answer original question tho, no only stands in portrait
I got an official Samsung one given with mine. Good at protecting from scuffs when it's on a table or desk but wouldn't like to trust it with protecting my phone from a fall.
That's why it's sat unused in a cupboard at work! If anyone wants it just message me and I'll stick in the post.

I'll take the case if it's on offer, let me know your thoughts on shipping to Australia Figure you sent all your convicts here, so a case shouldn't be a problem

To Case or Not To Case...

So I got a regular rubber case with my Nexus (assuming it would add the least amount of thickness) and I always use cases with my phones but I'm noticing that it really increases the thickness and feel of the phone, which I dislike.
How many of you are and aren't using cases and what is your reasoning for each?
Should I risk not using a case or should I just suck it up?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
I'm not using a case, and my only reasoning is that I haven't found one I like yet. This thing has flown out of my hands inadvertently so many times, I will probably be getting the sylicrilic from VZW just to have something on it until I find what I'm looking for. If I can ever figure out what that is.
I just ordered the Diztronic TPU that everyone is talking about. Hopefully I'll like that one better than the one that I got from Verizon earlier today...

No case for me yet. I also haven't found one I like. I'm really attracted to the nekkid look though.
I'm generally a nekkid guy. Dropped my precious today and the plastic back is VERY susceptible to scratches. Reconsidering my no case choice but love this phone as is.

I use a case but...
A scratch on the body won't bother me as much as a scratch on the glass, so I would definitely use a SP if nothing else, but that's just me.
But I want mine in pristine condition for when I sell it and get my Galaxy Note II
I'm definitely getting a case. I never did mind a bulky phone ( I used to have a n900 with an otterbox on.. That thing was a tank, in both size and durability)
Got a case.
This phone with such a large glass and slender body to go along with it feels like it would fall apart if I ever dropped it. Maybe it isn't so but handling something this expensive/large/slender needs some protection for me to freely use it with peace of mind.
I'm using a temporary Case-Mate Barely There case along with no screen protector right now and I'm very antsy when handling my phone. So much so that it's a hassle.
Got the Diztronic case too and will be using Ghost Armor when they finally have the product line.
I had my wife buy the phone AND an Otterbox when she went to vzw... I have had OBs on all my phones and will keep doing so. Sure you can get it cheeper online but I pulled the phone out of the box put the 4g card on then put it in th OB!!!! And that is where it will stay!!!
I don't care about maintaining the cheap plastic backplate much to justify for a case, but I got myself a Silicone case from Verizon anyway because I don't want to scratch the camera lense when laying the phone on the table.
Diztronic rocks. I have a bse full body shield on and the case fits with that too. Scratch proof and protected. Love it

heres one thing i don't get from you guys that go naked. what about the effin camera in the back!? you realize every time you place it on a surface you're landing it flat on the plastic of the camera?
I never wanted to go no case but since my Desire, I've preferred the pouches just because it doesn't add to the size of the phone, and then you don't have to worry about anything hitting it. But I think this phone is just too large to use a pouch with. I bought a Nokia-brand pouch that fits my Nexus, but it hangs out the top by half a centimetre. Not a problem because it's not loose in the case itself, but it's still not the best situation.
One of the main reasons why I prefer the pouches is because then I don't have to worry about a screen protector, but I've already got a nick on my Nexus' glass, so I'll probably wear an SP and a case all the time.

good choice. i expect this case to b great because their silicon cases are the best to me. they just stretch after awhile. like any other silicone. but that case isn't rubber. btw, Rearth reached out to me and let me know the case fits both GSM and LTE models.
I dropped my phone within 24 hours of getting it. It left 2 quite big marks on the body. The plastic body is pretty soft and can be easily damaged.
I now have a replacement and put in case striaght away. But it does feel so much slimmer and nicer without a case
do you find excessive dust with an otterbox? seems like my G-nex is totally prone to dust. otherwise i love the case, makes the phone a little easier actually for me to hold without getting the feeling like it might just slip out of my hand.

Need Something Similar To Otterbox

I really need some advice, I usually swear by OtterBox but they have of course not released any cases for the 10 and if you listen to them they say that they don't have it in their plans. So my question is what is the best case I get as an alternative to an OtterBox? I'm looking for something with a similar level of protection. I tried the unicorn beetle pro but I don't like it because there's plastic on the back of the case that makes it very slippery when placed on a surface, I miss the grip that the OtterBox had on the back of the case. Also I need a belt clip.
I just ordered one of these
http://www.amazon.com/Holster-Protec...ilpage_o00_s00
What worries me however is that cheap price
What recommendations do you guys have? Thank you so much in advance

The Amazon side seems to be unavailable already...
Well, I'm an otterbox fan too. Sad there are no news about an otterbox for the 10. Check out the specific thread about cases... Just found something similar to Otterbox there...
http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Full-...etle htc 10&qid=1462899739&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1
Maybe that will cover our needs until there will be an otterbox in the future.
I ordered also an Incipio dual pro case, which is really nice but not so good like otterbox. I still don't have the device.. But the cases
What I can't recommend is oeago double layer case... Ordered that too, but this is really hard plastic and I guess the device will get scratches easily with that one.
Edit... Just reread your post ... Didn't saw your review about the Unicorn... Just ordered that one... So you don't recommend it?
Get this, you'll thank me later: http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Full-...qid=1463161450&sr=8-1&keywords=htc+10+supcase
Only thing I would recommend you do is remove the screen protector from the case (it's just held on with glue) that way you can use whatever protector you choose. These cases are WAY better than Otterboxes.

The belt clip holds absolutely fine, I'm pretty sure that you can put the phone in the case either way but I think it's specifically designed to be put in with the screen facing inward. The only complaint I have the back of the phone is not 100% all silicone. The back of the case has hard plastic on it that makes it slide across surfaces very easily
It's worth mentioning that the phone does not clip into the belt holster as firmly as OtterBox's do, I think it's pretty clear that the case is considered a clone. Be careful because I would say that if you drop the phone from more than about maybe 10 feet in the air it may pop out of the belt clip

I would but unfortunately I do not have the case anymore, I returned it this morning out of frustration. As good as they try to be the sad truth is there is just no replacement for an OtterBox. I guess this is just the consequence of buying a phone so early, I'm hoping that within the next few months OtterBox releases a defender series Case for this phone, as soon as they do I'm all all over it
I'll try to explain as best I can, the belt clip on the beetle does not snap in, it is more of a friction fit I'm almost certain that you can put the phone in with the screen facing outward however when you do you will have to touch the screen with your fingers in order to get it out of the belt clip. The case is really a knockoff of the OtterBox defender, I had high hopes for it when I ordered it as well and despite the fact that I tried to get myself to like it I just couldn't
it says it will damage it if you do it face forward. waiting for jcase to return my phone so couldn't try it

Are you usually on a boat or something that would cause things that are laying on a flat surface to slide around on their own cause I honestly don't understand why that would be an issue, but in the past there would be pads of TPU on the corners of the phone so it would never have been able to do something like that.
Anyway, if a belt clip wasn't so important I would recommend Supcase's Unicorn Beetle Hybrid case (once it finally comes out) It's the other's little brother and is my absolute go-to for my past 4 or so devices. It is similar to the UAG cases, but they look and feel much better.
To be honest the protection that your case and the Otterbox offers is complete overkill. Btw, I absolutely hate the rubber material that Otterbox uses... talk about junk.

I understand your point of view don't get me wrong. Yes I really returned it because it would slide around on its back, I need a casecase with some kind of grip. I don't go on a boat or anything but I'm in a wheelchair and I've had several instances where things started sliding around whenever I'm doing what I need to do. To be honest I've been using OtterBox's for so long that I've gotten used to them. I know where you're coming from when you talk about the silicone but to be honest I've never had any issue with OtterBox giving me a hard time about replacing it for me when need be
Some people consider the protection that an OtterBox defender offers as being overkill but I remember back in 2015 I accidentally ran over my OtterBox and I'll tell you what after that I was convinced that the case had just paid for itself, I had to get a new one because the case was broke but the phone was completely fine
