Google Apps keeps crashing on Stock Jelly Bean - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

My girlfriend updated her Galaxy S3 OTA and hasn't been unlocked,rooted...etc
But gmail,play store...etc aren't working a process.gapp crash when I turn the phone on,who do I fix that

I'd be tempted to factory reset.
You could root and wipe the cache, etc.
Or maybe just as the phone is now go into apps and clear data/cache for the offending apps.

I would prefer not doing a factory reset because it would downgrade the OS and delete all her apps...etc

Anyone?

A factory reset would not downgrade the OS, but it would delete all apps and data. As mentioned earlier, I would go the the apps settings screen and clear cache on apps that were offending and on all service apps. If that doesn't help, clear data on them as well. If it's still having problems than a factory reset would be the only other thing to do unless you're willing to root the phone (and most root methods involve odin which would result in a factory reset anyway).

How do I completely wipe my G2?

I am having an issue with my battery and had recently installed a bunch of apps and widgets so not knowing which on was the culprit I deleted them and wanted to just do a factory reset and start over. But I would like to know that I am completely wiping everything and starting as if I bought it new. The problem is that when I do a Factory Reset through the settings menu I still have the same wallpaper, so I know it hasn't been completely wiped. So I go through recovery and wipe the cache and do a factory reset that way and it still has the same wallpaper. How can I completely wipe this thing? This is an unrooted, stock G2 if that makes a difference.

Yes I have searched and came up with nothing new.
Try not signing-in to your google account once you do a factory reset. When you sign-in, your previous settings/configurations are being restored.

Please help!!!

I keep getting this message popping up "The application Open Sense Plugin Manager (process com.htc.opensense.pluginmanager) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Then it makes me "force close." I do not receive new text messages or emails at all! Also, none of my settings save. I can't use my alarm or my new voicemails do not show up. I am very confused. My phone is rooted and has been for some time with no issue. If anyone can help I know XDA can?
Are you on a custom rom at all?
Either way, sounds like a software issue, which a factory reset should most definitely clear up.
Yes I am using Konies Elite and have been for 9 months or so with no issues. I dont think its the rom but rather the phone im not quite sure. If I do a factory reset will I lose my root and all my current apps and settings?
Hey,
Yeah just back up any data *text and what ever else you need* and do a factory reset and it should fix your issue.
If you are rooted try wiping cache data and dalvik and reboot the rom and your issue should be fixed! If not try a new rom
I hope I helped if I did please hit the thanks button,
Stevo

You can also boot into recovery/advanced/fix permissions, that should work, try that before erasing everything.

If it was a hardware issue, you would have more problems than just Sense closing. That is a software issue for sure. Since you are rooted, you dont have to do a factory reset, just re-flash the rom from recovery. Be sure to fully wipe data/cache/dalvik first to ensure everything gets installed correctly. You will not lose root, but you will lose apps, which can be backed up and restored with Titanium Backup
Just wipe cache and dalvik and flash the rom over itself you will keep your apps and data but it will reinstall all the stock apps and data from the rom so if you accidently removed something or something corrupted it will be replaced/repaired

Doing a hard reset

Hey guys, I have done a few things to the phone and now am interested in doing a hard reset.
I have rooted the phone with superoneclick, (Will I lose root doing a hard reset-- my guess is no)
I have disabled some bloatware and uninstalled a few ATT apps. I will be sure to enable all of the apps that i disabled, BUT I am wondering if I will have any issues because I uninstalled those ATT apps? Do you see that as being a problem.
Last, I modified the lockscreen file so that it removed the emergency call button, do you see that causing any issues doing a hard reset?
Thanks
No, you will not loose root.
Can't say for sure about att apps, if you removed them with app manager or market, then they will be restored with hard reset, if you removed them with something like titanium backup, then they might gone forever.
I guess you could just flash system.img from the unbrick post before you do hard reset, at least that will for sure restore any bloatware you removed.
Also, not sure you are going to wipe data using cwm, if yes, then be careful since CWM currently has problem when wipe data, use following step instead:

Factory reset on JB, i9250

hello everybody,
I updated my GSM Galaxy Nexus to Jelly Bean and after few hours of checking how it was with its new OS I decided to do a factory reset to be sure everything was clean before starting to put my apps, music, videos and so on... I chcecked what app were system app just to know if I was going to lose something special, but there was nothing more than some updates on GMail, Google Earth and others (the rest were system apps)...
But... SURPRISE... after the factory reset I found I've lost Play Magazine, the Google "Shazam-style" widgets and others system goodies...
How is that possible? Does the factory reset delete also system applications?
My GNex is yakju Galaxy Nexus i9250, completely untouched, no root, no unlocked, no nothing... just bought!!!
Thanks to everyone that will answer to my question.
Bye
They disappears if you are not in US.
Some say unfreezing those apps using TB fixes the issue.

thanks a lot for your answer. if I restore flashing a stock version of the ROM using the GNex toolkit will I get the m back?
They are not gone, still there but are US specific. You need to use titanium backup to unfreeze them. As I've learned here never tried it as I don't have a use for them anyway.
To know if you have them remove your sim and factory reset and do not log in to WiFi, and you will see all the goodies are already installed. Now use your WiFi or put the sin and they will disappear again.
If you use the factory image, the apps will get frozen the first time you reboot your phone. Also unfreezing them with Titanium Backup will not survive a reboot.
Since you haven't logged in to a Wifi or unlocked your SIM, the phone doesn't know your location on the first boot. -> The apps will be there after a new flash or factory reset.
Boot your phone and all apps that can't be used in your country will get frozen. Travel to the US, log into a Wifi or put in a US SIM and reboot your phone. -> All apps will get unfrozen.
Ok interested...
Androidme aosp + market access on boot installed all the body's and still available.
id like to ask a question regarding the factory reset on jb...
im on a custom rom, and i just realized that when i launch the factory reset...although it warns me that it will delete all my musica nd photos, it deletes nothing...ofcourse it removes all apps and when it restarts ...its all fresh configuration...but still my data are all there(even the app data)...
sorry if this is obvious, or just an idiotic question...but do you guys/ladies have the same thing?and how can really format my 'sdcard'?
thanks

Severely Delayed Notification

Hi, I have a Pixel XL on Verizon running stock v7.1.2 firmware. I have a problem with my notifications taking hours or sometimes over a day to show. This includes apps like Gmail, Outlook, Instagram, Slack, and even things like Dominos. The issue is present regardless of my connection, whether I am on Wifi or LTE makes no difference.
I've read other posts and disabled the battery saving options for these apps, but the problem is still there.
Is there something I can reset or clear a cache, or anything to fix the notification system?
I had this problem awhile back. I updated the firmware, and it went away. I haven't had it since.
Ok so first in setting clear cache for all apps that are doing this, if that doesn't work, clear your dalvik cache. If you have TWRP recovery, it's simple go to recovery, wipe, advanced wipe, dalvik cache, wipe. If you have stock recovery, you have to search it up on google.. That's all I know, I've never had this issue so yeah, good luck
Unfortunately I can't access the dalvik cache because I haven't rooted this phone. It's starting to look like a hard reset will be my only option.
Unfortunately you are probably right. The Pixel doesn't have a cache partition like other Android phones where you can go into the stock recovery and clear the device cache. I'm not sure what TWRP actually clears since the cache partition doesn't exist on this phone. You could try a Play Store app like Clear Cache as a last ditch attempt to avoid a factory reset but it probably won't help. My experience with these types of apps is that they don't work on the Pixel. Even if you do a factory reset as long as you are backing up your apps through Google you should be set up and as good as new within an hour and it should solve your problem.
You can clear all the apps cached data by going to settings>storage then click on cached data and it will clear it. About the only way to do it I believe.

Twrp tries to clear two things, dalvik cache, and regular cache. Only Dalvik gets cleared though because regular cache does t exist on the Pixel.
