Got an email this weekend about a good deal on Galaxy SIII, got it today over the phone with CS.

I don't mean to thread jack but Wirefly has a really great price as well.
I used Wirefly to get mine for $199.99 tax free with free shipping and the process was VERY seamless. Before finalizing my order through them I even went into the T-Mobile store near me to see if they could match the price or even find anything fishy with the deal that I should be weary of. The salesman looked at his system for a bit and went through the order process on Wirefly with me then said "I'd hate to give business away to another merchant but we can't beat that deal and it looks 100% legit to me. If I were you I would go with that deal also."
So I ordered it through Wirefly right there on the spot. I chose the option to upgrade the phone while keeping my current plan and my phone arrived within 3 days with a final price of $199.99. The salesman even had me return to the store when I received my phone so he could give me a micro sim card for it free of charge.
I was nervous about going this route but I can honestly say that I would do it again in a heartbeat and plan on using them for future upgrades, assuming their prices remain cheaper.

I just called T-Mobile and asked why it was $329 when everybody else had it for $199. She said that it just is. I told her that I'd be buying a Galaxy Nexus straight from Google instead of extending my contract. She then transferred me to the "save" department where they instantly quoted me $186 before shipping and taxes. Ended up paying $211 and some change for express shipping and taxes and had the upgrade or activation fee waived.

I called and asked to be transfered to the "loyalty department" ended up paying 300 but they waived my upgrade and shipping fee AND credited my account 200$. Basically only paid 100 for the device

Sounds like there are all sorts of ways to get the S III for $199 or less with T-Mobile. Just have to be smart about it.

Wow Loyalty Department is awesome. I called them up and spoke to a nice guy about my situation. and Got a hell of a deal for a blue 32Gb GS3. I explained to the gentlemen that my wife wants to move to At&t and being with tmobile for 10 years I didn't really want to go but a friend of hers would hook us up with gs3 phones for $150 each and lower a monthly. The customer service was eager to help out to keep us with tmobile. after a few minutes on hold he came back with offering me a blue 32gb SGS3 for $120 and waving the over night charge plus saving me $50 on my monthly bill. also one of my phone are able to still upgrade next month. I'll save that for the next big thing in a few months. I love tmo. they know how to keep me as a valued customer. at the end of the phone call I asked him how soon will I have my new 32GB GS3. he said I should have it tomorrow when I get to work.
I should change my signature now... so happy

Yea t-mobiles been great to me. I have five lines and the next set of full up grades is dec and feb. Well i called tmobile told them to transfer me to customer loyalty. And after a bit of talking with the women ( sounded hot so hot) she said i will give u the s3 for 360 and also got the 50 dollar mail in rebate which is cool so actually paid 310 for phone and it was at my house in 3 days. She just said i see u are a valued customer with 5 lines and always pay your bill sir we want you ro stay . Anyways im happy customer...also even tho she called it an upgrade she said it will not affect my actual upgrade i think because i extended my contract. But thats cool cuz i have been with tmobile forever anyways. So when december comes around i can get whatever is badass at that time

I just signed up for Tmo on July 5th and called them about this code. They said its a student code and wasnt able to apply to my account since I'm not a student. Has anyone else been succesful adding this code to their account?

just got off phone with customer retention they are able to offer the gs3 for 179.99 that price is only through customer retention need to call them to get it

I think it depends how long you have been with them plus if you pay your bill on time every month and stuff. Little variables cam change the price drastically. Just a thought?

It's the Same department. When you dialing 611 and operator prompts you to select why you are calling just say "Cancel". That connects you directly to them.

When you guys upgraded via retentions, did they make you change your current data plan? I have the grandfathered 5 GB $30 data plan and I don't want to lose it. When I upgrade online it doesn't make me change it but obviously it's a lot more expensive.

It all depends if that plan will still be available with the offer they give you. Just say you wanna keep it and see if they agree.

I was in the same situation. Heidi gave me $5 off my data price per month. I asked her several times if my 5gb status would change and she assured me it would not. Ask nicely.

Galaxy Note II Off Contract Availability

Guys, where are you getting your Note off contract? Hopefully this thread can help members in the same situation get a galaxy note 2.
I have a pre-paid plan and do not want to be locked into any 2 year plan.
So far, it seem like only T-mobile stores are selling them for $650 + tax and that's if they want to sell it to you. What about Bestbuy? Walmart? etc.

I got mine from the T-Mobile store. I'm not sure if this really answers your question, though. It seems like you already know that the only place that's selling them right now (that I know of) are T-Mobile stores.

I am currently switching from Sprint so I'm not a customer. My local T-mobile store sold it to me off contract but I had to buy a $10 pre paid card to get it activated at the store. I had already ordered a micro sim activation kit online and was planning on activating it myself.
I think it's on a store by store basis.

I bought mine at a T in Albany NY. First I went in to said they had 2 in stock. I said I would like one and will be paying retail. Suddenly the 2 they had in stock had been shipped to another store. I asked if they could call the store to se if they were in stock. The store they shipped them to had already sold them The next store I went to said they had one. I waited for him to get the phone out before I said "I think I'll pay retail". Now I have one and love it.

Yeah I'm wondering if there's any other places that I can buy the phone off contract and maybe even avoid sales tax (via online purchase). Everyone is paying about 700 for theirs.
I've visit one store yesterday but all they had were Gray only. I believe the white one are rare at the moment. They were saving it for new customers or those that are extending their contract.

Not sure how that's cheaper... from a T-Mobile store it costs $649.99 off-contract, it's $703 off wirefly. Even with California tax (8.75%) that makes the Note II $707 from the T-Mobile store. Not to mention that wirefly charges tax to CA, so... for me the wirefly price would be $764...
But yeah, my store wouldnt sell to me, as they were saving it for new and upgrading customers.

Full Purchase Price at T-Mobile Store
I purchased my GN2 yesterday at my local T-Mobile store in the white color 16GB configuration for $683.00 after taxes. I have a SanDisk Ultra 64GB microSDHX memory card class 10 for $50 from Amazon inside it....The only problem I had was when I wanted to purchase it the sales rep at the T-Mobile store wanted me to use my upgrade and I said because I buy my phones outright and he had this shocked look on his and I was like OK....But I did purchase it with no problem though and it took all of ten minutes for me....

Got mine at the T-Mo store last night. Was just over $700 with tax. Wirefly doesn't charge tax in my state but they want I think $729 off contract for it so it was still cheaper to get it from T-Mobile and note have to wait.

Called and visited several Tmo stores. All stores had stock. Most stores had both white and grey in stock. Most said their manager would not let them sell at retail while it was "new". From the way the conversations went, I think I could have talked most stores into selling me one.
One store agreed to let me purchase a white one but not a grey one.
None of the stores seemed to be running out of stock.
$649+tax.

Exactly, there's a coupon that brings it down to $704 or something on wirefly, but still, rather have it now than wait 2-3 days for $3 savings or so.
Not to mention if i have a problem, simple as walking in and exchanging.

Yeah, it's up to the managers and the two near me are greedier than most i guess.

I woke up at 10:00 in the morning and called my closest store and they had 3 Titanium Grey in stock for New activations or upgrades so I thought I would be out of luck but I went in anyways and I "upgraded" my pre-paid account to the Note 2. That is funny as hell cause that really should not be considered an upgrade as I already have to pay full price for my phones... I took em to school on that one! LOL

Yea they don't get commission when they are sold outright. At least that's the way it was when I sold phones for RadioShack.

Not only commissions but if they run out and someone wants to come in to start a new plan then they also lose a new subscriber. I wish I could afford it at $700 but thats like paying $30/mo for two years just for the phone.

The funny thing is that some people can afford to pay a monthly bill of $100.00/month or more but if you buy your phone outright you cut that monthly fee in half and that is what pays for your phone plus more... No contract for me! :good:

Bought mine on launch day at a Tmo store. They were happy to sell it to me for $650 and setup my new micro sim for me, no contract of course.

This won't work for those of us trying to upgrade, however.
But I may try to print this out and take it to Best Buy and see if they will price match (not knowing that it's only for new customers).

Yes, Walmart usually is between $50 and $100 cheaper. I tried to upgrade to the Note II through them, but when I added it as an upgrade the system told me the quantity in my cart was more than allowed and kinda froze there. I don't know if it was a system glitch or what. But I assume you'll eventually be able to upgrade through Walmart.
Note, last time I upgraded through Walmart (to Galaxy S II) my data plan got removed all together. I had to call AT&T to get my grandfathered unlimited Data back. My recommendation is to call AT&T after any upgrade and make sure your plan has not changed. Upon upgrading to the not II through AT&T my $5 for 200 text messaging plan (no longer offered) was removed and I had not text capability at all. I had to call them get it back.

I purchased the Note 2 from ATT on Friday. Today I see that Walmart has it for 250, so I chatted with the ATT rep and got them to price match it and they will credit me $50 back into my account and got the activation fee waved as well. Only been with ATT for 2 days and I already like their CS. Good bye Sprint, you wont be missed

yeah. i getting tired of calling att to save that 50$. called 3 times, no deal at 199$ !

Called CS to get $50.00 credit to my account but before she did, she gave me a big stink on how ATT does not match competitors prices and that was a one time
courtesy credit.

I didn't get that. It's like all businesses. They don't like to give much away lol

I bought mine last Friday adding a new line and paid 300.00 think I will give them a call and see if I can get something back since I have both notes hopefully I can get the 100.00 and activation fee back...

Ordered mine yesterday, be polite, tried 3 times, the last one I talked to tried to accomodate me, and I even requested the upgrade fee waived. And by the way, I am not yet due for an upgrade. so Early upgrade, note 2, and waived fee. I tried to have them match the S3 on Bestbuy and Samsclub, they said no and just go to the store on Black Friday.

I tried to price match T-Mobile at $49.00, called twice, second time to premier, no deal.
Got it for $199.00 on a 3rd call very easily, just said: "Look, the reason I'm calling is, a couple of friends on this enthusiast forum got a great deal for $199, what can you do for me?" She said she would talk to her manager, did it, and they accepted. Without me asking, they waivered activation fee and gave me free premier shipping, but it should be shipping on Tuesday only (asked for the White Note II).
So I'm very happy with this, can't wait. Hopefully before thanksgiving I'll have my new phone!

Got note 2 white 249 $ best buy mobile with code. Called att premium and they would not match this price. So they loose the sale and good will.
Best buy mobile ebay had the discount best buy mobile from site didn't. Only hitch I had to call for a closer store pickup.
They had an open box phone waiting at the store which I declined. To swap it for an unopened box they had to return the phone and discount the new one.
Bottom line they can do whatever they want only if they want to and you're nice to them.

There are two "equal" deals . You probably selected 249.99 with new account. There is absolutly the same $249.99 deal for upgrade. Both are sweetened with $100 e-gift card for Walmart today so final price $149.99+tax

According to the fine print it is for new and qualified upgrades. The eGift Card will be mailed out by the second week of January though.

I tried getting att to match the offer but no go. Fortunately I was able to upgrade my line through walmart without ay changes to my family and data plan Total came out at 249 with 100 gift card = price hard to beat. So excited to be a new note 2 owner!

I bought it from the store and they are giving me the run-around. I have half a mind to just bring the thing back and purchase from somewhere else. If I knew I wouldn't lose my number I would kuat cancel it.

Hope it still is $249 tomorrow. i got mine at best buy today for $299. they won't match the $100 gift card, but I would rather have best buy's black tie protection and i used their buy back program to trade back my Note - got $300 for that

Called ATT for a price match they successfully gave it to me..I already called a week ago and said I seen it at best buy for 199 so they gave me credit for 100 bucks...I read this thread wrong....at first I thought it said 149.00 so I called ATT again Today.and said wallmart has it for 149.00 and a 100 gift card..sure enough I had to speak to a supervisor and got credit for 50 bucks..to equal 149.00 total cost. Then just read this and it said wallmartS price was 249....opps...lmao
So I learned they must not check..because I was wrong and still got the price match..lol.

Went and upgraded both my phone and my son's phones today. Got myself the Note II and my son HTC's One X+. Hell of a deal. Had to order them online since the local stores didn't carry them at all and of course they are both backordered, but at least I didn't have to pay any sales tax since the outfit was out of state. Not bad paying $399.98 total for two top of the line phones and with getting $200 back in gift cards makes it a steal as far as I'm concerned. Will likely have to deal with the typical screw ups of Walmart messing up data plans and such with AT&T next week but that's a small price to pay and one I've never had and issue getting cleared up. I've ordered my phones from Walmart the last several times and they always seem to get something wrong. But they have great prices so I keep going back.

A few weeks back I called a rep to ask about my ETF to cancel and go to Verizon for the Note II. The lady I spoke with offered me the Note II for $249. I didn't t buy the phone at the time. The rep noted it on my account. I called back last night and spoke with another rep.
He honored the offer, even though I wasn't told all the details correctly the first time I called, and long story short, I renewed my contract and have a Note II on the way.
I ended up paying $312 {289.99 +tax) and got bill credits totalling $97, free overnight shipping and he waived the upgrade fee.

I love ATT Retention dept as well. They gave me $100 in credit just because I said I was thinking of switching to T-Mobile. Didn't have to upgrade or anything. They just gave it to me.

ATT has been nothing but fantastic this time around. I am actually coming from Verizon and I wanted the Note 2 on a couple of our 5 lines. However, Verizon was being very...unfriendly towards my interest with this phone. We had 3 lines that were ready for upgrade immediately. However, in trying to sign our new 2 year contract to Big Red, they wanted a $30 upgrade fee per line. Additionally, two of our lines were going to lose their unlimited data. The third was going to drop from 4GB down to 2GB per month. They were in no way willing or interested in working with me to keep me as a customer. So, I immediately requested to cancel all lines of service. They threw a fit at that but that's a different story. In any event, I wound up doing a bit of shopping around for an alternative carrier. After deciding on ATT, I visited my local Best Buy due to the ATT corporate store being crazy busy during my lunch break. Best Buy got me set up with the Note 2 and also price matched Amazon Wireless. So, I walked out that day with 3 Notes for $175 a pop. However, the guy at Best Buy somehow set our share plan on different data plans per line. This next bit is where ATT customer service shines. I called in to have the matter addressed. It was a super friendly call from start to finish. I wasn't upset to begin with but had I been, the rep was super friendly and I'm sure it would have been de-escalated. At the end, to compensate me for the "inconvenience" of having to call in, she waived my first months bill entirely. That's what I call customer satisfaction. ATT might not have the same coverage, call quality, or speeds when compared to Verizon in my local area. However, the customer service more than made up for it in my book.

Just got them to match the amazon $179 price minus Best Buy phone freedom ($50)....out the door $136 after taxes. No complaints here....

Wow, I'm jealous. But I don't think BBuy would've done that for me - I wasn't eligible to upgrade till June of next year.

This was from AT&T retention department....I just asked them if they could match this price before I bought it from BB.

Just wanted to say thanks for this thread.
I purchased two SGN2's last week at an ATT store, as they were the only ones carrying them in my area. We got the $100 off the second phone deal. After seeing this I called them last night and got the response to call a different number that wasn't currently open. She did credit my activation fees though ($86).
This morning, i called the number she referred me to and they said they did not handle that type of thing, Then forwarded me to another dept. After being disconnected and calling back the rep kindly credited me $120 to my account, I did not want to push the Amazon Wireless price and I am extremely happy with this.

A couple weeks back I was having problems with my Galaxy S 2 that I already had replaced under warranty for factory defects, This time around was a charging issue. (Always says its charging) So I asked them if they would be able to allow me to upgrade because I was extremely unsatisified with the phone and they went ahead and upgraded me. I told them about XDA people reporting getting the phone for 199 from other reps and that Amazon Wireless was running a special for 199. They had me pay 330 which was about the price for the phone and the tax for it, waived the upgrade fee and credited my account a whole 150 bucks. Needless to say I was very satisfied, On top of that she even through in 2nd day delivery. So I had my replacement device within days, and my phone bill this month was a mere 30 bucks.

i just dialed 611 went to the upgrades/service change option and chose other. I talked to the girl and asked her if they would price match that offer and she said yes. I had not already ordered he phone though so i did it through her. It all depends on who you egt to deal with in the long run.

Meh, not that big of a deal. The phone is 174 at Amazon.

I just got off the phone with them for a completely different issue. The price of the device wasn't an issue for me. I got my Note II for only $63 and some change. But, anyway, I saw a thread on another website, where a lot of people were complaining about our devices not coming with the much vaunted multi-view capability. There were many people reporting that when they complained to AT&T about it and threatened to cancel service, as a way of trying to give them an incentive, AT&T offered either a large one-time credit or a temporary monthly reoccurring credit. The typical result was getting $10 knocked off your bill for 12 months. Sure enough, just before I got off the phone with the retentions rep I spoke to, she offered me $10 off my bill for the next 12 months as a way for AT&T to apologize to me. I'm quite happy about that.

I spent an hour and a half on the phone with them today. The best I could talk my way into was a discount to $274.99 and a $100 credit on my bill. I guess considering my upgrade isn't available until may 13 its not all bad. I kept throwing the amazon deal out but they wouldn't price match it outright on the device.
