[Q] Camera problem - HTC One X

Hi guys! I have been trying to get 4.2 camera working on my HOX in any possible way, but still I experience some crashes and slow performance. I just wanted to ask if anyone has stock camera apk from jb 4.1 and how to install it having v.4.2 on board?

Well i don't have the apk.....but my best guess is to use a root file explorer and replace the camera.apk file in the system apps dir
Edit : download a 4.1 JB rom from here and take out the camera.apk

And I'm on CM10 Nightly.

Just open the rom zip of the nightly, extract the apk from /system/app folder, push it to phones /system/app folder, change permissions to 644,reboot.
Remove 4.2 apk first.

[MOD] STOCK MMS with Emoji support for ODEXED ROMS

First of all I'd like to thank the guys of the following threads for providing the modded apk and the instructions to create an ODEXED apk.
[MMS] Emoji/Softbank Stock MMS for JB 4.1
{TUT} How to Odex your APKs.
Instructions:
- Use root explorer to backup or rename Mms.apk and Mms.odex in /system/app/
- Paste the two files provided and set the permissions.

- Zip file provided is not flashable thru CWM.
DISCLAIMER: I created the odexed apk to use it on my stock JRO03C Jelly Bean 4.1.1 GSM Galaxy Nexus, functionality on any other rom is not guaranteed, BACKUP the files before replacing them.
Worst case scenario: The messaging app force closes and you will have to use root explorer to restore the backed up files.
Cheers!

how to replace phone / contacts on stock ROM ?

hi all
i have a copy of the ICS phone and contacts apk's from here
BUT i'm not able install the apk's as the installer complains that there is a apk with the same name....
i've looked in /system/app and can;t see phone.apk or contacts.apk anywhere.
Can anyone please assist ?
Did you ever figure this out? I would like to keep my stock touchwiz rom with the multiwindow feature, but I would much prefer, the vanilla ics/jb phone and contacts app.

[Q] MIUI calculator.apk on cm7

Dear XDA.
I would like to have a miui calculator.apk on my oficcial cm7. Is it possible to do it? Will replacing the .apk files via root explorer work?
I don't think so. I wanted to do the same and I had many crashes of "new" calculator. You can try it, but prepare yourself to see some FCs.

[SOLVED!]CM camera app

Hey, after flashing few ROM I saw that not all of them have the CM camera app (with the advanced settings, specially the Power shutter feature).
I tried adding it manually to AOSPA (removed old GoogleGallery.apk and moved Gallery2.apk to system/app),
but I didn't worked out (Gallery worked, Camera FC).
Is there a solution for this?
Update - on vanilla rootbox it worked. Maybe I did something wrong on PA..
(or it just not supported on PA?)
SOLVED!
SlimRom's Gallery2.apk is working!!!!

Thanks sarkar1990!
There is a flashable zip somewhere on xda I will post a link if I can find it again
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
And it works on every ROM?
Umm.. Anyone know what files are related to the camera app?
Maybe I'll replace them with the files from CM.
...?
No one knows?
Should I ask on another forum?
I want to have the same camera
I'm also using Vanilla Rootbox (4.0) and I still have the stock camera with stock options - has anybody an idea on how to fix this?
On rootbox I think you can just download the gallery2.apk (download CM and only unzip this app, system>app).
Then remove (or move) old gallery (GoogleGallery.apk).
Move gallery2.apk, change permissions (like other system apps) and restart.
If you can't move it, you need to mount you system partition (r/w), search Google (it's simple).
What I think problem with aospa is that it's missing libraries because it's mostly stock.

Click to collapse
It works perfectly - thanks a lot. In case anybody out there is as new to it as I am: Use ES Explorer and use it's Root Explorer - it's as simple as this
That's exactly what I used to install CMFileManager
Solved!
------------------
Well, it didn't really solved.
When I click on the power button the device lock, not taking a picture.
I guess there is still something missing.
I'm having a real terrible go at this. I somehow removed the original google gallery apk through ES File Explorer and Installed Gallery2.apk but it crashes every time I try to open it.
I have a Sprint Galaxy Nexus running CM10.1 RC3. I know I must be missing a step or something. Help please.
As I said in another thread, I don't know how to solve it. After updating aospa slimroms camera crashes too.

{Disussion} Replacing the snapdragon camera with google camera by Root Explorer

Hi everybody,
I'm using RM5 plus, I am using this phone running mokee rom, lineage, aosp, viper, rr rom
The interesting thing is I tried replacing the snapdragon camera with google camera by root explorer. it runs so well, not error, not stop.
I rooted device and use root explorer delete folder "Snap" of original camera in system/priv-app and install Google camera here. Cut folder of Google camera in data/app into system/priv-app. Reboot device
