[Q] International version - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Can anyone tel-me what are the diferent Versions for the Note 2?
I have friends in the USA and the UK who can buy me one, but need to now if it works in Portugal.
Thanks for your help

Try Google Search

There are 2 versions of the phone
The 4G LTE one which only works and used in the U.S and they are locked aswell , so you cannot use your sim card in Portugal unless you unlock the phone(pain in the ass..)
There is the international one which works every where in the world (Unlocked) They use these in the UK aswell,
So if your going to get the phone get it from your friend from the UK

newbie question, purchasing the T-mobile and using in US?

I would like to purchase T-mobile MDA-3 for use in the USA and Europe. Can I just put in my US simcard and will it work or does it need to be unlocked? What should I look out for? ANy suggestions would gratly be appreciated?
Most come unlocked. I just recived my MDA III, it was T-Mobile branded when I recived it. Came in a German T-Mobile Box, but my ROM was English. I bought mine through Tiger-Direct.
Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for it? Also, will my current T-Mobile sim drop in and work?
The MDA3 is quad band so you should be able to use it anywhere in the world! So long as you have roaming set up on your sim you should be fine!
Not so sure about the locking though!
I am using it in the US
I have an iMate PDA2K in the US and it works just fine. T-Mobile gets a bit confused when you call tech support and their system can't automatically recognize your device, but I just tell them that I have one of their HP Windows Mobile models that they sell in the US and they seem cool with it. All I did was swap in my SIM card and it started working right away. GPRS, etc all works fine.

Taking Desire to USA on T-Mobile

Hi there
I live in the UK and have an HTC Desire which has been baked and it's just the way I like it. It was bought on a T-Mobile contract and is locked to T-Mobile.
I am travelling to the USA and want to put a USA T-mobile sim card in it.
The last time I was in the USA I took my Nokia N95 over which was locked to T-Mobile UK but it wouldn't work over there with a USA T-Mobile sim card.
What will I have to do to get it working over in America? Is it just getting the phone unlocked in my local market in the UK?
I don't want to be empty handed in the USA. I love my Desore too much to leave it in the suitcase!!!!
Any advise is grateful
Adrian
The phone is locked to simcards from t mobile UK, hence why you couldn't use a t mobile US simcard.
You can unlock the desire for about £10 with a code from ebay, no cables or mods required, simply put in the code when you first try to use the other sim card. You may find you only get 2g coverage in the US as I think the euro Desire only works with 2g networks in the US.

Is the 3 version network locked?

I need to know if the 3 version is sim locked or not, id heard it wasn't so I was planning on getting one and putting my o2 sim in, thanks for any help.
Version from 3 is not locked. I bought one and use it with Russian SIM card.
I bought phone with PAYG.
They have confimation of this in their twitter. You can try to find.
I purchased from a 3 shop yesterday and can confirm that is unlocked. I'm successfully using my T-Mobile contract SIM from my lost/stolen Galaxy S2
As above all current stock at Three is Sim Free , same with the Nokia Lumia 800.

[Q] UK GS3 - Oringinally Tmobile - Root Question

Hi All,
I bought the GS3 on a UK contract with t-mobile, however I immediately gave the sim to my other half, and instead chose to use my virgin sim card.
Do I still use the rooting guide stated for the GS3 t-mobile version?
(upon inserting the virgin sim the phone asked me what provider to use t-mobile or virgin...)
Help would be appreciated.
Coops
if you have a UK Galaxy S3 wouldn't that mean you have the non-US "international" version ?
In which case your phone is totally different from the one TMo is giving to us American folk... I'd ask in the 9300 forum to be honest.

[Q] HTC One X tegra 3 - in Japan - Docomo/Au/SoftBank

Hello,
I just came back to Japan and I am currently not signed up with any cellular provider yet. (Also I DO NOT have old cellphone sim...)
I REALLY want to get HTC OneX in Japan... Sim Free 32GB International version with Tegra 3.
HTC-S720e-32GB
My question is when I went to Docomo they told me that they will only let me use it if they will find some sort of a stamp... which means that it has been cleared to used in Japan...
Has anybody just bought HTC One X International version in Japan and got signed with a cellular provider without problems?
I know if I had a sim I could probably cut it, but I want to know if I could just go to Docomo and get a micro Sim from them and use it normally...
Has anybody tested this on Docomo or any other provider in Japan?
Please let me know, I've been drooling for this phone and I'm afraid that I will be unable to use it if I buy it... /:
Also I don't understand this whole business with APN stuff...
//
So basically my question is can I just go with that sim free HTC one X to any provider in Japan and get my Sim... put it in and just enjoy my phone... or they are going to refuse to give me the sim?
