[JTAG] GT-I8160 JTAG pinouts - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Here is a JTAG pinouts for GT-I8160.
Pins are accessible even without a disassembling! Just need to remove the sticker under the battery.
Very easy compared to the "big brother" I9070 (see 2nd pic).
It requires RiffBox/MedusaBox to operate.

can you post more pictures with samsung i8160 dissansamble?

[Q] Micro USB part (desoldering)

The micro-USB connector on my HTC Desire is damaged. Charging is not a problem. However, trying to connect it to a computer causes shows flaky behavior. I took it into the vendor who are estimating a charge of $140 to fix it.
I can solder/desolder the connector quite easily as I have SMT facilities at work.
I would like to source the connector first however.
Anyone know the part number or where I can source one from?
Hi
try to sample one from eg Molex.com
I think you have to pay for the shipping oid
http://www.molex.com/molex/products...pageTitle=Introduction&parentKey=usb_products
Good luck
Thanks.
Would be good to get a more definitive part. Dont want to desolder and realize I have the wrong part.
Has anyone seen the unsoldered PCB footprint for the device?
Is the connector a bottom or midmount?
Images taken from the HTC disassembly video (is on youtube)
But maybe there's just a cold solder joint and you don't have to replace the whole connector.
Thanks. Those pictures are neat. I took some of my own after opening up the back casing.
The damage is inside the connector (the cable wont stay connected). So not a dry solder joint problem.
I guess I could try and buy a few different connectors and try to see which fits.

[Q] Motherboard component broken

I somehow managed to break a resistor (or so it seems) on the motherboard of my TP2 Is it possible to get hold of a chart or so where the resistor values are provided?

solder points for inductive mod

I am looking for the points in need to solder the wire at.
I am looking for something similar to this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1557923
If you look at his third picture he soldered it to a resistor because he thought it was easier that way. I would prefer the same thing. Unfortunately this is the guts of an ATT S2 and it seems dif than our tmobile one.
If someone could provide this with a nice pic pointing out the spot that would be great!
Thanks.
now i dont know about any solder points but what i did was to remove the back pannel and exposed the the carger port which is connnected to the usb port..then i went to my local hobby shop (here in the midwest i went to hobby lobby) and $6.99 later i purchased copper tape. what i had done was to look at the battery which is labled where the positive and negitive terminals and laid the copper strips accordingly, now on the other side i made sure that the inductive coil was also in line so that when i placed the battery cover on the back of the unit it will touch the copper tace lines. All i have left is to see if if the touchstone works ( i still have yet to purchase that...) and it will be complete. Now also i have the verision galaxy nexus extended battery installed and some how it all fits. once i have figured out how to get the pictures to show up from my flicker account i will repost them.....heres some quickie links (backdoor) http://goo.gl/6a4YY when i get my other camera back i will post a pic of the inside with battery
I am sorry but the charger port that is linked tot he USB port?
Not sure what you mean. Can you please clarify?
please forgive the neebie question what you are trying to do....what is the purpose.
Thanks for your reply in advance.

As the link in my original post says basically i want a wireless charging system called inductive charging.
Something similiar to this too that i found on the forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26443496&postcount=34
I want to take the wireless charger of a palm pre and modify it to work with my S2.
I need to take the charging coil and preferably solder it to the point on the S2 board where the charging takes place though the USB plug.
The guy in second link basically linked it to the battery contacts, i am not sure how safe that is since it bypasses most of the resistors and charging components of the board.
So hoping someone can help point out where i can do the positive and negative charging contact points on the board.
Awesome! found what i needed here. Will post when i do my similar mod.

[Q] Replacing USB port

Seems my USB port needs replacing, I first thought I may have had some lint or something inside there as it wouldn't charge but after checking with a flashlight one of the pins had bent completely.
The only thing I can find for the original desire is eBay ID 380759842289
Can anyone confirm if this is right, or where I could purchase one from the UK.
Are they hard to replace? Would it just be the case of removing the 2 lower t5 screws, taking the antenna out of way and then what? Are they soldered on or ribbon cable?
Cheers
I had a similar problem, my device couldn't connect via usb but it was able to charge, so my first thought was the same as yours (about the lint). I tried to clean it and I found something like a little wire which was out of its place.
I ordered a usb port (about 1.50 euros) for that model and I followed this guide on youtube to disassemble the device /watch?v=8sYB_AM_jHE
You have to dissolder the old one and then solder the new which is a little bit tricky. It Worked!
For the replacement parts you can search on ebay for htc desire g7 its the same or use google you will find a bunch of them.

- Nice one.. NO - this is of course not wireless charging - This is the NFC (Near Field Communication) Antenna
NFC is the P in GT-I8160P - The Phone without is called GT-I8160 (without P)
