[Q] How to deodex i8160's Stock Rom - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone!
Im newbie and i dont know how to deodex my stock rom.
I've used dxda kitchen for system.ext4.tar from Stock ROM but kitchen cant deodex its
Help me pls! Thanks! ^^

kitchen works just fine, you've done something wrong.
did you read the MANUAL??

Can you give link of Manual, sir?
And teach me how to change the API pls
Thank you for reply

You must set api=10 TO deodex rom.wirh kitchen..
Inviato dal mio GT-I8160 con Tapatalk 2

read the kitchen's thread, the first few posts most important.
in kitchen there's always a description about the function you're currently using
during deodex there's option to change API, then you get a screen with availible APIs and for gb2.3.x it's 10 so just enter correct value
can't teach everything, you know, try reading some threads on XDA, there's already 99% of your answers here

Many thanks for your help!
Now i can deodex Stock Rom ^^
One more question, does someone known add 14 toggle buttons to the rom? Tell me again pls ^^

can anyone tell me how to add this to any rom ? i have seen these options in quite a few roms, but don't know what i need to be able to achieve this.
thanx
I'm interested as well. I saw the thread with the mod the other day before cooking my ROM and lost it. Haven't found it yet.
You can find a flashable version of it here :

in second post.
I use it in almost all ROM's I test.
android.policy.jar
ah thanx guys.
btw does anyone know which and what *.smali file you need to edit to achieve the above result ? i would rather do it myself to my own classes.dex than using the virusrom one. (unless i absolutely have too)

Lol dude, I was the one who made this MOD for Galaxy S, So I definitely know what I am doing. It's just that I don't have a Galaxy S II and all the ROMs out there are Odin Flashable, so I don't have the required files.

What rom are you using? You need a deodexed rom in order to use this and the only one that's out there is VillainROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1081368
Change the Permission of framework.jar to the same Permissions as that of the framework-res.apk. Long pressing filename in Root Explorer will give you the Permissions option.

[Q] Need help regarding stock rom customization

Uhhm ok first of all I'm not a 'PRO' at android manipulations or something, just an average xda guy, so please be friendly ...
I was thinking if is there a way that I can make my stock rom function like custom roms? Like have what most custom roms have to offer? I read that stock is always better than custom...
Also like my stock can have tweaks to lengthen batt life, make it faster eventhough its just stock. And also have tweaks like MegaBassBeats etc. just wondering since idk if I can flash those directly on stock.
PS. Im currently using Hybrid v4
You can follow kurotsugi thread to create custom rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1590330
I always use stok rom and customize with some tweak, modify infitrams in kernel and add another work from other but still love to use stok kernel.

That thead made after i custom my rom. Lol.
But kurotsugi more better than me to write and his progres very awsome n more advance than me.
Actualy just use rootexplorer, titanium backup, cwm, and winrar in window enough for minimalis customize.
if you don't want to make an installable rom, you can skip that part. you can go directly for customizing section. you can follow chamatht post about deodexing apk's.
PS: thanks savie, but I'm not as good as savie have said. I'm just another noob here

sir what do you mean if I dont want to make an installable rom? and which part do I skip? I just want to make a rom or just customize stock rom and let it have maybe the following:
-bravia engine
-megabassbeats
-v6 and [email protected] support
-deodex (still thinking about it, since it looks kinda hard)
-merruk kernel (I think I read somewhere that it is ok with stock rom? not sure)
those are currently my target for this project... is it possible to have those on (modified) stock rom sir?
Edit: I just read your guide sir, and I think I can do it (I think), so I can customize an existing rom that I have now and put bravia engine + megabassbeats etc. on it? Btw, I have a ccopy of chobits rom so I have the files, your guide says "put be_photo and be_movie in system/etc folder then edit the build.prop" what do I put in build.prop to make it work?

you can go straight to the customization. see add_build.prop.sh inside megabassbeat. that is the script that you should add.

don't copy all the script. you'll need to copy the string and value for build.prop file. if you don't know which one should be copied you can use this one. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zf40rush0bdj1u2

[REQ][ASK] Indonesian Language in Custom ROM

[REQ][ASK] Indonesian Language in Custom ROM
Dear My Beloved Developers...
This is Could be My First Thread, but I Hope all of you can Help me for a little bit...
I Have so Many Question in My PM and Some Massage in Others from a Lot of My Friend that Maybe always Count on Me.
But I Still Cannot Answer Them, its Because I'm Noob in Android and also Linux and Others.
I'm Just a User and not a Developer yet, but I Love To Read and Try Some Possibilities to Increase my Knowledge.
It's all about Custom ROM for GT-S6102
Since We are already Have More Than One Custom ROM so i Made This Request and Ask Thread
Can U Guys Help Me to Answer This for Me:
1. How to Get My Native Languages in Custom Rom? It's Indonesian Languages, We are in XSE Baseband
2. Can I Request to Put Our Indonesian Languages Into The Custom ROM?
3. How to Make Third Party Apk into becoming System for Replacing Stock System APK?
So My Beloved Developers. Can You Help me?
Please...

May God Bless U All
EDIT:

Do You Need Your Native Languages in Custom ROM?
This poll will close on 29th September 2012 at 10:57 AM
Here are the possible answers to your questions( evn m a noob)
1. How to Get My Native Languages in Custom Rom? It's Indonesian Languages, We are in XSE Baseband
The languages are stored in the framework of the rom as values-xx (xx is the short form of your language example en is for english). You can add folders in there and then compile the framework
2. Can I Request to Put Our Indonesian Languages Into The Custom ROM?
LOL! Its your xda account. Do anything you want. Just dont spam the devs.
3. How to Make Third Party Apk into becoming System for Replacing Stock System APK?
Place the desired apk in /system/app of the rom
I think he not try to spam and maybe only know this is section for duos but not see this is developer section for duos..
Question and Ask for duos still can use in Q/A section bro just give detail title.. U can pm techno to move thread to that sec and dont forget to say sorry..

1.If you have decompiled an apk, you would obtain alot of files such as values-en,values-de etc in the /res folder. These folders contain all the translations of the rom. If you want new languages then decompile any app which has your language and copy all the folders starting from the name "values-" to decompiled framework-res.apk.
2.I meant something else from my statement. Dont spam the devs with PM's such as "I WANT THIS IN YOUR ROM". It really irritates us.Just say it once on our rom thread and its done. Yeah, I have received requests from some people to add more languages in the rom so I will be trying to add them.Even though I have never added languages..
3.Maybe the cache is created in /data folder? Or could be that you didnt copy the apk file to correct location. I dont have any idea
Thanks...

[Q] Editing roms

I'd like to learn editing, modding or porting roms and stuff like that.
Is there any good tutorials and sources where I can study and try to make some roms?
Thanks!

you can ask me some stuff in pm if you want !
Well, I need to know everything, because I don't know anything.
I think that firstly I need to learn how to customize the stock rom, right?
What should I do?
Download stock rom and edit what and how?
Awww, screw it.
I'll stick with using someone's roms. It looks to hard to develop.
Pls, close this thread.
look in ur pm ;D
Yes, thank you.
p.s. I can't give more thanks because I'm limited to 8 thanks per day.

I don't know
It'll be mostly made by you, I mean, I don't know anything.
Maybe I should try something by myself, to learn just some basics, then we can try making new rom.
But, is there any emulator or something to try the rom without flashing directly on my phone?
I don't want to flash bad and untested rom and brick my phone.
i can teach you how to port from ace, theme a rom and tweak it but thats it, if you're interested, pm me
ps: always have a nandroid, so you can restore in case of brick

experiment a bit with uot kitchen, and dsixda's kitchen to edit roms. for example take a clean cm7, and use uot kitchen to theme it and use dsixda kitchen to add some features o something..
what is the difference between uot kitchen, and dsixda's kitchen?

uot kitchen is to thema framework and system files from a rom, for example lockscreens, statusbar colors etc..
dsixda kitchen is to add technical features to a rom such as root acces, no boot sound, init.d support, kernel modyfing and much more.

Uot is in browser, so no.
Dsixda can be used on windows with cygwin, a linux terminal emulator so you can run linux compitable scripts.
