Hdr camera for cm10.1

I read a post here saying that cm10.1 has Hdr in its camera. I thus flashed cm10.1 but still I can't get the Hdr settings in the camera. How do I activate it?

Make sure you don't flash gapps which have their gallery apk.

My friends, Even with flash gapps the HDR recording should still be in the there. I have been running this CM10.1 on my galaxy nexus for a very long time and I haven't even seen it. I assume they announced yo let people know it is coming.

The standard gapps replace the gallery2.apk in cm which has HDR. One option is to push the gallery.apk from the ROM's zip file to /system.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
A better option is to manually delete the gallery apk in /system/app, then boot into recovery and reflash CM10.1 (without flashing gapps)
The HDR function makes the pictures look good too. I took a picture of a cheesy tot and it looked more fire than IRL.
I flashed the gapps w/o the camera or gallery. Someone around here provided the .zip, I can't remember who it was though. Search for it and you should find it. If not, I'll find it for you or upload the .zip when I get to work, can't do it now.
The Gallery from latest AOKP builds has the feature. But the wait time between the shots are slightly long so you have to literally hold the camera still, and the algorithm to patch the pictures together isn't precise. Right now I prefer HDR Camera.

I went back to the VZW CM thread where I thought I found the gapps minus camera zip, but couldn't find the same one. I will upload the one I have on my phone if anyone wants it but I'd rather not since I didn't create it and cant remember who to give credit to.. Anyways here are two ways of getting both cameras on CM10.1..
METHOD 1 or METHOD 2

No comparison to the cheese tot? lol:silly: I was so blown away when I took that picture because I didn't thing my gnex could produce something that looked that good lol.
Want me to upload the gapps I have? I did a clean flash of CM10.1M2 and then flashed gappsnocam.zip on top of that..
Here's two images.. one taken regularly and one with the HDR option.

Pretty obviously the second.
I have a download link for the GApps in my signature along with the apk for the HDR camera gallery app.
Downloaded the camera again..but no good.
Maybe I should do a clean install of CM10.1 than gapps no camera then HDR camera.
BTW: Does the HDR camera take three shots about 1.5 seconds apart from each other in different EV's and then combine them?
Can you post samples of regular + HDR taken from same place/angle?
Thanks

I did it as this, and I got HDR.
1. Flash CM10.1, then GAPP,
2. Boot to Android, use Root Explorer to remove system/app/GalleryGoogle.apk
3. Go to recovery and re-flash CM10.1 again.
Then you will get a camera with HDR.
But I think the HDR is quite difficult to use...
The picture I took is double image...
But why does HDR picture blurs ?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Because you have to be very still to make a good picture. Basically you can't move.
Can't really understand all the fuss about HDR.

I found (I said that already) Google camera is better with moving objects so I'll use them both

Anyways m just asking u for any tips which u can give to me so that i can also capture some great pictures using this camera app, ur response is awaited

Well, the reason I searched for another app was that the stock one took blurry pictures and had very few settings.
Now for taking pictures: always take more then one. I have maybe 10-15 pictures of that fire out of which I only kept about 4 of them. Many will come out blurry or simply not satisfying enough. Try to center the picture well and play with the exposure settings until you find the right one. Also try tilting the phone up and down so that it modifies it's contrast and brightness automatically and you'll eventually see the picture you're looking for on the screen. Snap some pictures and move it slightly from picture to picture so that each is a tiny bit different. One of them will be THE ONE.
It's not a great camera, but I've seen a lot worse.
Protip: Nexus Camera allows you to make timelapses (Video -> Settings/Options -> Timelapse)
I honestly can't tell the difference between the stock app and other camera apps. The pictures they produce look very similar to me. Am I visually impaired ?

the flash bug should have been fixed. the NO-HDR on 16:9 "feat" does still exist. just to be clear.
IF you select a format ratio of 4:3 on either the front or the rear camera you WILL get HDR.
IF you select a ratio of 16:9 on either of the cameras you WON'T get HDR.
HDR from 2.5 on will ONLY work on ratio 4:3. that's not weird, it is rather unacceptable.
I still have the flash issue as of last night
