[APP] XBMC 12 Beta 3 [Dec. 7] - Nexus 4 Themes and Apps

XBMC has finally released a working beta compatible with the Nexus 4.
xbmc-12.0-Frodo_beta3-armeabi-v7a.apk

Here are other versions,
http://code.google.com/p/xbmc-android/downloads/list
all run fine on Nexus 4th But I find the menu font too small. It looks much better on a tablet.

The official beta 3 is the first version to work with the Nexus 4 IAndroid 4.2). Don't try anything before that. Also, the non-neon versions shouldn't work with the N4.

I've just added this app to the Nexus 4 Complete Index
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium

I can get it installed upon my Nexus 4, I then install a "advancedsettings.xml" file for my network syncing and all looks good since I can see the files and metadata associated with the files. But when I attempt to play a file, I get "This file is no longer available. Would you like to remove it from the library?" prompt. Every file I attempt gives this.
Am I missing something? I have the free version of MXPlayer. Do I need to install the "playercorefactory.xml" file as well?
TIA.

Figured it out. Don't need the "playercorefactory" file and had to input userid/pw for connections to network for syncing. Works like a champ now.

Flash Player APK (UPDATED)

Adobe has stopped allowing downloads for Flash Player on all devices running Jelly Bean, including the Nexus 7. This APK has been tested and works great on the Nexus 7 so far with 4.2.1.
APK File: install_flash_player_ics (1).apk - 4.49 MB
Awesome. Thanks.

couple questions...
1. so will this allow flash to be used on chrome?
1a. if it doesnt work with chrome, what's the benefit of a standalone apk versus getting a browser that can use flash?
2. do you have to be rooted for this to work?
thanks!

1. No, chrome does not support flash.
2. You need the flash apk to be able to use flash in a browser that supports flash I.e. dolphin browser
3. No, you do not. Just make sure you go to setting, security, and click the unknown sources check box before you try to install the app.

You can't download it straight to your tablet. You have to extract it on a computer then transfer it to your Nexus.

Theres no default file browser installed so get something like Astro:
These are the instructions I followed, can't remember if I used the APK linked on that site or not, so to be safe use the one linked above.
PS : This five minute spam rule is annoying. (but can see why its here).
i installed the flash apk but when i try to view a flash movie it crashes the browser (opera mini, maxthon, and dolphin hd)
thanks works awesome on my nexus 7 and on my galaxy nexus
top notch
This worked great! Thank you

Thanks for the apk. You can download it straight to your tablet if it was not gziped and just install it with a file manager... On another note, I didn't really see the point of putting it back on my tablet after downloading it to my PC since I already had the sdk installed.
Code:
adb install -r com.adobe.flashplayer-3f0d57a34bf0204acb2f9b310aa37ac7.apk
did the trick and installed it just fine for me..
Worked like it should!

Thanks, OP!
Now if we could get a working AOSP Browser for the N7 because I'm not too fond of Dolphin and the other 3rd party browsers.
Cheers,
Kermee
If you are using Dolphin as a Flash solution Do Not update to 8.6 which just came out. It completely removes the ability to use Flash for Jelly Bean even if you have it side loaded. It gives a message that they will no longer be supporting it for Android 4.1+

I find that opera mobile crashes alot with flashplayer installed. ive installed various versions said to work with jellybean. ill keep trying it out or try Firefox or something.

[APP][LEAK] Google Wallet 1.5 - R87 - v15 APK from Nexus 4

Pulled this from the Nexus 4 dump and it is tested working on my Gnex. It is a slightly newer version than the current R79 v5, I can't tell any major changes so far. Reset the current version of the app before installing.

Thanks finally came up with something that works

Thanks for posting this fix. It reallly worked. So simple and effective. Also I was able to apply for my Google prepaid card refund. That was the main reason for doing this. I am on a Verizon Gnex and this works for those looking for a solution.:good:
Are you supposed to flash or extract and install?
Extract and install
Thanks very much, It's been a few months since I've had a working APK on my VZW gnex and this worked without issue.
Now I can leave that old leather thing at home. Cheers!
Doesn't work for me, says "Wallet is not available for your device / mobile network"

did you request the refund through the app or on the website?
I don't know when this started, but all my cards show an "unexpected error" message. Last time I know it worked was October 7. I've had this problem for a few weeks. I can hit try again but just get the error again. I updated to this version and still have the problem. I'm on PA for VZW.
Has anyone used the app to request a Google Wallet card from Google? Like here: http://phandroid.com/2012/11/01/google-wallet-credit-card/
I haven't been able to find a menu where I can request a physical card. Maybe it's only on the source-built Wallet?

On the previous page someone said this version was much larger than previous versions. Perhaps it's in there, but disabled?
not sure if i did something wrong, but I did a reset on the app, extracted the zip and then install the new one...but its stays stuck on " setting up wallet, this may take up to 5 minutes." its been like 10 min now... any ideas??

Thanks, it worked...

[App-DEV] MyScript Mobile for SGH-i957

Regarding This forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2005018
This app was ported from the Xoom to the Note 2... (it works perfectly on my Note 2) and I managed to create a flashable zip for the SHG-I957...
After flashing it... just wipe Cache and Dalvik and then you will see the app in the app list... Now...
---> When you run it for the first time, it gives a certificate error and it closes... then, you can open it a million times and it will work fine....
I believe it should be a dumb error and anyone with a bit knowledge can make it work on the tab too...
Here are the files... (Note 2 working version & SHG-I957 ported version with dumb cert error...)
any help would be great for me and everyone here...so we can all have the app on our tab.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=dHHO--XZlqM
:good:good for school
Thanks
Will be trying this out soon. Looks useful, can't wait to try it in school :victory:
Are we supposed to flash both files?
I flashed the I957 one and it gives the error like you said and doesn't allow us to use any of the features.
Ex: can't change writing, can't turn page, basically everything besides close the notebook.
I don't want to flash the other one if I'm not supposed to.
Thanks.

That is weird...it's supposed to work now...oh well, i just updated the files in the OP so you can download and install the latest version if you haven't yet...
I had installed it on my samsung vibrant yesterday, and just transferred the apk over to my tablet, worked without issues.
I am new to android so bear with me. I started to download this app but it wants permission to access all my data and also to be able to erase all my data on sd card. What does this mean and is it dangerous? Thanks

Trying to make a flashable zip...

Hi.
Trying to make stock 4.3 mms.apk flashable via TWRP for various reasons.
I've had a crack at it, flashed it in TWRP (stuck the zip on the device storage, selected install and then the zip etc) and...it said it installed ok, didnt throw up any errors however in android it doesnt look like it's actually installed?
apk is in the system folder but not showing in app drawer/can't launch it.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

No no the update script i had automagically set permissions.
This was something far more stupid...
I forgot to flash the odex file with it :|
But something strange i've never seen before, when i loaded messaging after the flash it popped up with a very gingerbread looking box asking me to set a message limit for conversations hmmmmmm...
Anyways, here's hoping this works when the time comes to need it...
It's part of my android 4.4 still being usable plan due to a hatred of hangouts...either on my GN or if i get a nexus 5 (and assuming all leaks are true and messaging app is being ditched in favour of hangouts).
Annoyingly this flash didnt work on the other device i tried...i dont know if that's because i tried flashing it to a nexus 7 where it doesnt want to work or if i'm an idiot and i don't know what i'm doing. probably the latter...
*edit*
i dunno, i guess i'm just an idiot.
Anyways, deodex'd the Mms.apk with http://www.xda-developers.com/android/deodex-all-the-things-with-universal-deodexer/ after a quick google...
and that happily installs on the nexus 7...so yay. Guess i'll use that going forward (i did the deodex at default OS version and left compression level at 5 because i dont know any better).
But at least it works so when the world ends and google try to force hangouts on me even more i have a backup...
