This is a major bummer - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

So I recently decided, in an effort to save money on my cell bill, to switch from a CDMA Nexus over to a GSM model. I was searching and searching and my wife had one rule. We can't afford to buy a new phone until yours is sold. So I sold it on Swappa, went to a dying Dinc and ordered a GSM Galaxy Nexus the same night.
The seller is super awesome and shipped it right away. Its a mint play store model with cases and batteries. Unfortunately it was shipped through USPS....... And they 'appear' to have lost it.
It was shipped from Cali on the 6th, ETA was the 8th. Tracking shows it in Tampa on Friday night. All excited I cancel plans to get the shipment when it gets here... It doesn't come. I figure its OK, its the post office... I check Monday afternoon and my shipment is back in Cali. So now the tracking shows CA>FL>CA. I call last night, assure me they will get on it and call me today... No calls, no tracking updates since Sunday night.....
I'm calling the consumer affairs number tomorrow and seeing what's going on, I think its lost, gone forever.... Unfortunately I thought the package was insured.. I thought everyone did it for how cheap it is, but it isn't... Sadly if they lost it I don't think they or Paypal will be able to assist..
This isn't a thread to bash in anyway a fellow member, the seller is really cool and even before it went missing we were shooting emails about his new N4 and such. This is just a word to the wise..
1: Don't use USPS
2:Insure all items... Its dirt cheap, for me to insure 250 through UPS it was 2 candy bars.
Hopefully the situation has a good resolution... I have a bleak outlook though considering it hasn't been tracked since Sunday night

Dang that sucks man. Hopefully everything works out for u. I had the same issue with an oil pressure gauge I ordered for my race car and USPS lost it. They said it was delivered and I never received it. I had to buy another one. They suck when it comes to shipping.

Good luck man.

Do you know what type of USPS service was used? If it went Priority Mail, I think it gets $500 insurance automatically. Might be worth looking into. Bummer either way though.

USPS does suck! Had a package that came up "out for delivery" last Wednesday. 6 days later nothing and no further online tracking info. After spending 30 min at the post office they "found" my package. Bastards! Sorry to hear OP.
good day.

What is the exact saying on the tracking. I had a package being missent, but eventually returned to my address. So maybe the buyer will receive it back. Don't lose hope yet.
Always insure with signature confirmation and label it as fragile. The signature confirmation is used as tracking.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

yeah, give it about a week and it may still show up.
I have had things missing, delivered to wrong house, etc and they show up a couple days later.
As long as it's not broken, thats a whole other mess and I lost on both accounts in this case.
Good luck.

I hate USPS, I ordered shifter bushings for my car awhile ago and was anxiously awaiting it so I could install my new shifter. USPS showed it was delivered to my house in the afternoon, but I was home at that time and what do ya know, no package. They searched and searched and never found it. Luckily the company I purchased from was extremely helpful and resent my order via UPS. It was only a $20 part, but still frustrating. Oh, and my mom ordered two separate things in the same month, and USPS lost those as well.
Basically, USPS sucks, I hope it turns up somewhere.

Well it had a good ending... They lost it and somehow it got sent back near where it shipped from. They sent it back to me and it arrived this morning..
Priority mail does NOT have any insurance, I checked..
Enjoying my GSM Nexus

Enjoy the phone.
Its awesome!

Glad to hear the happy ending! USPS has been solid for me. "Lost" mail usually means it was delivered to the wrong address (packages don't just "disappear" in real life ), but most people are cool and return the mail so it gets to the rightful recipient. Lost phones on the other hand.... some people are just damned thieves.

Experience ordering my galaxy nexus from mobilecityonline.com
Im sure with the many websites selling the nexus their are people who wondering where to buy from and hopefully this will help.
I had signed up for email alerts on the stock for the galaxy nexus. When I first checked they were expecting an ETA of Nov 23 2011(which I believe was the day before thanksgiving). It wasn't bad at all so I decided to check the place out. November 22 comes along and I get an email from MCO stating that the phone is in stock. I had pre ordered it. So once I authorized the payment I had To verify my card and ID. This was the biggest "hassle" of the entire process but I also understand that the phone is a $750 and they want to prevent fraud. I couldn't FAX my information on the day stock came in so I had to wait until the day after thanksgiving. Once I faxed my information, I called and they had to verify with the store manager (they base their store in NYC). Weekend goes by then Monday comes along. I get an email that they have shipped my phone. I receive my phone on Tuesday and I couldnt have been more excited. All in all the customer service was great. They answered all their calls in a timely manner and they always called back. I will deft purchase at MCO again.

Experience With Wirefly

So I bought a couple Note II's for me and my wife on the day it came out. Wirefly had a special price of $249.99 on that first day.
http://www.tmonews.com/2012/10/samsung-galaxy-note-ii-available-for-249-99-from-wirefly-friends/
You had to go to their "Friends and Family" site but it seemed to be the real deal. I had never used them before so I called insted of purchasing the phones online. While I was waiting the price went up to $279.99 and the CSR would not honor the $249.99 price. I was upset but I still wanted to get the phones. So I went ahead w/ my purchase.
My wives phone ended up having an overly sensitive SPen. So we had to send it in for an exchange. The CSR I spoke w/ messed it up and didnt process it right so we had to mail in her phone before we could get the replacement (they are supposed to send you the replacement first and have you put down a deposit).
I wrote a poor review on http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Wirefly and quickly got a response from Wirefly (They actively monitor this site).
The guy from management couldn't have been more helpful. He expedited the shipping of my wife's new phone and got me a credit for the extra $60 I spent. I was very impressed and wanted to let people know what a good experience I ended up w/.
Moral of the story, if you have issues w/ Wirefly use resellerRatings to get somebody from management to help you. The CSRs are useless.
Bought mine off contract over the phone with Wirefly and it took the CSR one hour and 11 minutes to process the order, what a joke. I was ready to strangle the CSR.

Yeah I had bought it from wirefly also a Galaxy s3 and Note 2 and I had a question, called in and the guy was like, let me order for you. I wish I didn't order it through him, he tried to up sell me on so many different products and accessories and it pretty much took like 45 minutes for the order to be placed. If I did it through the website, it would have taken 6 minutes top.

Broken screen and Best Buy Protection

On November 11, 2012 I bought, at full price, a Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 2 the day it became available through Best Buy Mobile. I waited for Best Buy to have it specifically for the Geek Squad Protection, which I also paid in full for, and it's reported "superior" service and protection. At 12:30pm I left the store, by 5:30pm the screen was cracked from a short fall from a bench. I took it back to the store the next evening for the GSP claim. I was told they had to send it in to try and repair it (this phone just came onto the market two weeks ago) and it could be up to 12 days before I would get it back. I have followed the tracking number and it went from Michigan to TEXAS and arrived on Thursday morning (15th) at 9:36AM and nothing more has been reported. I have called the 800 numbers and the local store to try and get some kind of update but they see nothing more then what I can by tracing the service order number. I am a Premiere Silver Rewards member since that program began and I always buy the protection plans. This is the first time I have ever waited for a product to be replaced/repaired more then a couple of days.
I am so upset about this that I may return the phone when it finally does come back, and get my old phone back. And I will change back to the Sprint protection. Sure I would have to pay a deductible, but I would have a new phone overnight instead of being without my brand new phone for over a week.
Should I come to my senses and keep the phablet, I will definitely get an Otterbox when they come out!
I hate to
I hate to inform you but because of the phone being so new that even with the Sprint Asurion insurance I still had to wait for almost 2 weeks to get my replacement. The good news was that I recieved a brand new phone because no referb were available. My phone lasted a little longer than yours, mine was about 18 hrs, 12 of which It was in a secured locker because I was at work.
I would tough it out. Im pretty sure they will send you back a new one.
Brad might i ask how much did you pay in total out the door including the insurance an taxs? I want the note 2 real bad but not willinh to pay a huge price when i hear that they break quite easy.

Got the price match to Sprint's $649.99, then did the buy back of my EVO LTE of $350 ( which I paid NOTHING for with rebates in June ) and changed over to the BB 2yr Black Tie Protection instead of the monthly payments. It was $509 out the door, so realistically I paid the $300 just like a normal update. I was happy with the deal...at the time.
Cool ima try an check at walmart where i work if they carry them they also have a 2yr accidental insurance. Thats what i have on my pc an my Nexus7. I realy want this phone
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Walmart accidental is one time use not like unlimited with best buy. Bite the bullet and be more careful next time.
Had an interesting chat with my local BBY store manager. She told me that I should have had a phone (either repaired/refurb/new) at 5 business days...period. It was near closing so she told me she will see to it first thing Saturday morning. She took my personal phone number and said she would call me.
BTW, no matter how careful you are, just about EVERYONE drops their phone once in a while. I have had an HTC - Hero, EVO 4G and EVO 4G LTE all of which I've dropped without them EVER breaking. So I sure didn't expect the Samsung to be any more fragile especially after watching the You Tube videos where the AndroidAuthority dropped one from different heights without any breakage. I guess I hit the "Achilles Heel" lower left corner.
Finally, I will be keeping the phone and the Best Buy Protection.
Cool everyone lives this thing waiting for mine on vzw
Final update
Today I went into my local Best Buy and true to her word the store manager called the Mobile manager and had him get me a NEW Note 2. :good:
I have a cheap case and a Clingo neck strap on it until the Otterbox is available.

Anyone gotten a Verizon refurb lately?

Has anyone gotten a Verizon GN refurb lately? It seems it's been removed from Verizon's inventory so I'm wondering if I'll get a GN or they'll substitute something else for it. I really don't want to get some Motorola phone or something.
Got one at the end of December, but that was before it disappeared from sales.

From what I understand when you want I replacement nexus. Verizon will probably give you whatever they have left in the back.
Dont count on Verizon upgrading you, Its going to be a LONG time before that happens.
I just received a replacement yesterday after the current replacement only lasted 6 months before dying.
I will say this. the QC has gotten 10000% better than a few months ago, back in July I went through 3-4 replacements and they all
had problems, The one i got yesterday is perfect.
I received my "like new" refurbished phone about a month ago, right around the time they stopped showing up on their website. When they say "like new" they weren't kidding. It was flawless. Looked brand new to me. Not even the tiniest of scratches or knicks could be found. I'm sure they have a good number on hand to serve as replacements. I'd assume they can get a fair number refurbs from samsung at any time as well.
When I went in to ask for a warranty replacement I was trying to get the lady at the store to "accidentally" have a note 2 sent to me, but she just laughed.
From what ive been reading, since the Gnex is discontinued if you need a replacement verizon is sending out samsung gs3 to you.

That would be sweet. I noticed one post in the GS3 section saying that's what happened to him.
I sprung for overnight shipping. We'll find out tomorrow if the Fedex guy doesn't get lost in the snowpocalypse.

Yup, got a GNex. I'm going to put it on Craigslist and think about getting a refurb GS3 if I can find a good price.

It's here! Oh wait... *Missing/Stolen Shipments*

Went to the UPS Store to pick up my phone, shipped a day late but showed up quick.
Got home, opened the box, pulled out the bubble wrap, took out the Daydream View I ordered, and looked at an otherwise empty box.
Not even enough room for the phone in the box. Only one box shipped to me, only one shipment, just no phone. Now waiting for Google to call me back again with a solution from their refund team and find out how long I get to wait...
*sniff*
WOW! That bites. Mine should be here Thursday or Friday.
There'd better be a brand spankin new 2 XL in that package!
Sorry to hear that man!
My wife ordered hers the same night.
Supposed to ship yesterday, still hasn't shipped.
Sounds bad... Looks like the second shipment batch has gone fast as well..
Better than mine,,,On Trac delivered my phone,,,just to the wrong address, so I had to go search my neighborhood until I found a house numbered like mine just missing a digit and there it was LOL. Of course, this was after three hours on the phone with On Trac and them swearing to me that the geo tracker for my package when it was left was at my address. Well if you look at where it was left and my house thats like half a mile away LOL,,,wow!
And the plot thickens.
They called me back and cannot just ship me another one. They want to refund the Google financing and have me order another one which puts me at the back of the line. Said that they physically cannot just send me another one unless they send me the identical package with another Daydream View. I offered to send back the Daydream view I got and they said that that was perfectly fine but they cannot provide a shipping label for it. What kind of bat**** crazy stuff is this?
I am now going to be escalated so they said that the escalated people can't do anything more. Guess we'll see if I get a new phone this year or not.
Not your lucky day... bummer dealing with Google confusion!
got mine tues @ 2:23 pm cst......
been tring for 4 hours but the Damn bootloader isnt unlocking. you cant imagine how much a electronic device can piss you off unless youve been around the block yourself
Can somebody that got theirs do me a favor? Measure the outside measurements of the pixel 2 XL box that it came in? The actual box with the phone not the box that the phone box shipped in. If that makes any sense.
And now it gets even better. Nobody calls me back today so I can make a phone call on my way into work after getting rerouted three times to their escalation team I come to find out that I'm screwed.
First off they said that everything they see shows that the phone was in the box. In order for me to get satisfaction I get to know do the following.
Send an email back to them confirming that I am the official buyer of both items and that I did not receive the phone, only the Daydream View.
I also now get to go home tonight and take pictures of the box, fish the packing materials out of the trash and take pictures of that, take pictures of the Daydream View and packing materials in the Box, and pictures of all the outside labels.
After sending that in there's going to be a brief investigation into the phone and if it's found to actually be missing they will refund the Google financing charge. They will also refund my overnight shipping.
I then get to reorder my item and get right at the back of the line again.
The great part is the refund can take up to 14 business days they said.
On an even brighter note, my wife ordered hers a little later in the day then I ordered mine and it was supposed to ship two days ago. No shipping, no delay notification, and they still have not replied to her attempt at contact from yesterday. I love Google but what the hell's going on?
My wife is the best. She just ordered me a replacement while we wait for the rest to get finished with.
*slams had into table*

Mine did not show shipped until about 6 hours before delivery.
The requested images are standard for shipping claims. They need pictures of everything to verify what it looks like. If I was missing something in the shipment, I would have kept everything together until it was resolved just based on past experiences.

I'm not overly anxious either because I have my Nexus 6p and it's pretty much brand new after getting the battery replaced a few months ago. I'm just a little wound up because that's a lot of money to have sitting out there waiting for these guys to agree that it was missing from the box.
Besides, I'm looking at this kitchen table packed with accessories all waiting for something to put them on. Lol

Oh for sure, and I always do that. Anything I order I keep the box in the packing slips and such with it until I'm satisfied before breaking them down. My wife threw away the bubble wrap that was in there but it's on top of the garbage so it's not a big deal to get back out.
I'm only pissed about that because they should have asked for them last night or called me this morning as promised. Now there's another 12-hour delay for me to get the pictures and get them to them.
And now one of my best friends that followed me on the Nexus 6p train bought hers the same day.
Hers got delivered yesterday and the box is missing.
In one place FedEx says it was delivered at 1 and another place that says 3. It is saying it was delivered to the front door of her apartment building instead of the front door of her apartment.
Management for her apartment building said that FedEx did not come by that day.
Albuquerque metro area for me, Denver area for her...
SOUTHWEST PIXEL 2 XL CONSPIRACY!
Anyone else have their device come up missing or stolen?
My 2XL shipped Monday, but according to FedEx it's been on a truck out for delivery since Tuesday. Contacted both FedEx and Google and basically have no idea when I will see my phone.

Wonder if it's a system wide theft issue. I ordered myself a Pixel 2 XL and my wife a Pixel 2 on Saturday, Nov. 11. Both were marked as shipped the following Monday. Hers arrived Wednesday, but mine never made it past the "Label Created" status with FedEx. Google's Order Status said it was delivered, but the FedEx tracking said otherwise.
The best part is, my credit card was charged when the shipping label was created, but the device never shipped. This clearly goes against Google's policy about not charging the customer until the order actually ships.
Had NUMEROUS (6+) chats and emails with Google Support, each time them telling me a different story. From "take my word, you'll receive it today" to "ignore the tracking, we're expediting all XL orders and you'll receive it tomorrow" to "the tracking number is still valid, give it a couple days" to "the XLs are in high demand and your order is now delayed" and then "It's something with FedEx's system - you should contact them".
I then demanded a factual update otherwise I would dispute the charge on my credit card, since it already was charged. The latest story is "It seems that the device is lost in between the order shipment process. Don't worry, I have requested that your replacement device be sent out right away. " Yeah, uhm "LOST". Aka stolen.
That last update was as of Tuesday morning (11/21) and a new device has not shipped yet. Bummer because with Thanksgiving, I"m sure that will cause additional delays. Plus, who knows what promos Google is doing for Black Friday.
TL;DR Google Support doesn't know WTF is going on and I'm still waiting for my Pixel 2 XL 1+ week after ordering it and them saying it was delivered.
P.S. The order was coming from their Monrovia, CA center. Doubt it's the same for New Mexico, but it's possible.
Update on my situation. Finally got a new update from Google: "Sorry to hear about your lost or stolen Pixel 2 XL (128 GB, Just Black). We went ahead and sent you a replacement device, It was shipped on November 22, 2017 via FX2."
I guess FX2 is FedEx 2 Day. Today is only Wednesday, but unfortunately due to the holidays and weekend it won't arrive until Monday night. They processed this as an RMA, but have assured it's a new unit being sent, not a refurbished one.
Fingers crossed everything goes smooth from this point forward!
