Phone reboots 10 seconds into using any rom - HTC One V

I have a CDMA Virgin Mobile HTC One V. I decided to root it yesterday to get a jelly bean mod. Well things didn't work out so well.I used Hasoon2000's all in one kit, unlocked my bootloader and recovery(TWRP CDMA 2.1.0) then proceeded to try 4 different ROMs and Kernels (PACman, CM10, CM9, AOKP) and they all booted perfectly. After the boot though, the phone will work perfectly for approx. 10 seconds and then freeze and reboot. . Please help.

You most likely have the new radio, install the old RUU(the one with Sprint in the name) to get the old radio version. Then you'll be able to install ROMs and kernels.

Sounds just like what riggerman0421 said http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2013489&highlight=ota

just factory reset from bootloader.

WiFi fails in Blue Sense V1.0

My HTC One V is a PrimoC (CDMA) on Virgin Mobile, running Android 4.0.4, running JmzPrimoC+ Kernel, as the one provided in the download seemed to fail.
I have just installed the ROM maybe an hour ago, and decided to setup my WiFi in order to get most of my applications I have on my Play account back onto my phone. But once I went to enable the WiFi Manager, it did nothing but output "Turning on..." and then just went back to normal, like it was never enabled/attempted to be.
Would there be a possible solution for this? I'd love to know because I really depend on WiFi for my job, otherwise I'm going to find another ROM.
If you go to jmz's site, androidfiles, the link is in his kernel op, there is an ICS sense update package. It has flash able modules inside it. Sounds like you are missing that, and once you flash the zip and reboot into fast boot and flash the kernel, you should have WiFi. Sorry I'm on my phone I can't give you the link.

Alright, thanks for the help. I'll go ahead and check that out sometime later whenever I can flash 2 other ROMs to my ONe V's.
Just remember, if you go aosp based ICS ROM, use Simons super sick ICS. If you go jb ROM, use his supersick jb. I personally think the 12-30 kernel is the most stable so far.

i just tried this and am having problems with the wifi, any chance anyone can post a link to the update?

CDMA and GSM?

The thing i get is that CDMA doesnt use SIM card and GSM NEEDS SIM cards.
What will happen if a CDMA One v rom is flashed onto a gsm One V???
Someone please tell me b4 i do something REEHIHIHIIIIIALLY(a litle Jim Carrey ) STOOOOPID
Soft-hard brick, really hard to fix. However changing ruu's will brick you forever. There are gsm to CDMA converters for suprimo ROMs but that's the only converter i have seen so far for the one v
Sent from my HTC One V+ (because the X+ isnt as awesome as my V+ )
if I helped you don't say thanks, click it!
Then is there a way to conver the CDMA rom to GSM?
If you accidentally flash cdma to gsm or vice versa, there will be a soft brick(but not too soft),but if you interchange RUUs,you have made yourself a nice paperweight.

Yeah I have had my htc one v soft bricked for the last few days, I have tried so many times to fix it with no luck(but I must say I have been learning a lot ) Then this morning I did a full wipe even my sd and flashed the suprimo v30 and flashed boot.img. the good news is that it got past boot screen however it was gsm and could not get past lock screen without sim lol. I'm just starting the process over again but I'm going to try flashing suprimo converter after installing rom and befor flashing boot.img.
If anyone could help me out with info or what not I would appreciate it, and if this works Ill post again
Thanks

The CDMA paranoid ROM I posted is 1ceb0x's gsm ROM flashed on a CDMA phone. Not all things will hurt, just be careful what you flash. Like everyone is saying though, font flash a gsm ruu on a CDMA, or vice versa.

If the rom is created/compiled correctly, you shouldn't be able to flash CDMA roms on GSM version...
You should just gets an error in Recovery, due to device model specifies in the rom does not match with your device.
Just put the right kernel, rom and gapps into your MicroSD... and flash again in recovery
CDMA > PrimoC
GSM > PrimoU
So now I'm able to get the roms working but for some reason only wifi doesn't work gerrrrrrr.
Any one have any advice?

The only difference in custom ROMs for our phones is a line in the updater-script. A change from primoc to primou or vice versa is the only difference it makes what ROM flashes on what. Its not how the ROM is compiled that makes the difference, as the libs are 100% the same with a one letter difference. Apns.conf and a few other things might need changed for correct operation, but other than that its good.
Ruu's are the difference. They use cid for flashing to certain models. That and different radios. Each carrier has a certain cid, and the only way to flash a ruu with one cid on a different carrier phone with a different cid is s-off.
So long story short, if you flash a gsm one v custom ROM on a CDMA one v, flash a CDMA kernel lol. It will most likely boot. (If you do this and something breaks though, don't blame me. I didn't flash it, you did.)

[Q] My wife's One V keeps freezing UP

Hi my wife has a One V with stock everything. It keeps freezing up and takes up to 1 minute just to open a new text message.
The phone has never been rooted or modified in any way.
I tried rebooting it, doesn't change anything. She does not have many apps installed at all from the market, maybe 1 or 2.
The way I fixed it last time was back up all of her sms and call log and setting and I did a factory reset.
This solved the problem but the phone was slowing getting worse and worse and now it is almost impossible to use it.
Is this a know issue? Is there an easy fix for it? Or maybe the only option is to root and install a custom rom for her.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks
I do indeed give you the advice to install a custom rom. This is a known issue with the stock rom.

Great I had a feeling it was ROM related. Since I have no experience with One V, can anyone suggest a good how to guide to unlocking boot loader, and rooting, and installing CWMR on this phone. Every device is different so it is like leaning all over again for each phone.
oh yeah any rom suggestions? Not sure if I should give her a stock based sense rom or AOSP / CM. Personally I love AOSP Jelly Bean 4.2 on my S2 because I hate Samsung bloat on my phone.
thanks alot.
Personally I would recommend 4.1 or 4.2 depends if she needs the functions that are still missing from 4.2 (biggest one being camera I think) if she wants sense I recommend suprimo. As for a guide, there are some as a sticky in one of the sub forums (I think their in general)

I suggest you look for provision or pacman 19.3 in cdma (from what I can assume your CDMA) they have 5mp camera which is what the stock camera has. Note: the difference for flashing between a Samsung s2 and our device is we have to take the boot.img from the ROM.zip we DL and flash it in fast boot (thing before you enter recovery) after we flash the .zip in recovery
I recommend twrp recovery also because i find it easier to navigate
ONE MORE THING:
Power + down vol to get to fast boot and tell us what radio you have.
IF it ends in .0928 your going to get boot loops if you flash a JB ROM simple fix I'll tell you if it does because it is a complex process.
However if our radio ends in anything else you should be fine (htc had an ota that upgraded radio and it fked things up).

I've never been very tech-y with this stuff, and now I'm having problems with mine. I don't understand the ROMs or anything. I don't want to void the warranty or anything.
Well assuming the rules here. You can't install a rom here. Because for that you have to unlock the bootloader and doing that voids the warranty.

Flashing custom ROM is the only solution...

[Q] No WiFi after flash to PACman. HTC ONE V

Unlocked bootloader, Used RUU to downgrade radio, flashed TWRP Recovery, installed superuser in recovery, flashed Pacman 4.2.2, followed by boot. The result was a working rom, but no WiFi. Phone is a VM HTC ONE V. Any suggestions? Apologies if this has been covered before.
Could it possibly be related to the radio not updating? Is there any way around that. Bootloader is s on.
R: [Q] No WiFi after flash to PACman. HTC ONE V
Try to flash the kernel again . The one mentioned by ice
Odp: [Q] No WiFi after flash to PACman. HTC ONE V
I guess it is known issue on this Rom build. Just flash v19.3 if you want fairly stable rom

I flashed to PACman 4.2.2 and now Network and Wifi is not working. I used the following build:
primou_PAC_JB_4.2.2-v20.1.0_03MAR2013-22442
is there any fix for this. Requesting help.
GSM or CDMA? VM HTC ONE is primoc ,a CDMA device, you flashed a wrong ROM.
CDMA should flash

not
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1948770

[Q] Phone Randomly Restarts Over and Over...`

Phone: HTC ONE V (Virgin Mobile, CDMA)
Radio: 1.00.00.0928
Recovery: TWRP 2.2.0
ROM: myOne 9.5
Hi! I'm having a very frustrating issue wherein my phone randomly restarts after booting it up. I installed the myOne 9.5 ROM and it worked fine. But then I tried to install a CM9 ROM and it started doing the restarting. After a few times of this it did actually boot, and seemed to be working, but restarted after probably 30 seconds and just kept doing that. So I tried to switch back to the myOne ROM, but it did the same thing. So instead I tried flashing a stock ROM and kernel. No dice. Same thing.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong here or how to get it working again. When I flash the ROMs I follow this order: wipe Dalvik, cache, system, factory reset, flash ROM, reboot to fastboot, flash boot image.
Should I be doing something differently? Thank you for listening and any help you can provide would be much appreciated.
Your problem is your radio. You need either to run the ruu for your carrier, which is what I had to do, or puck a Rom with ota support. I know that there are a few in the development thread that are confirmed working.

i don't think that it is the radio, because the ROM I was using worked just fine before I tried flashing the other one.
When you flashed myone, it is a sense kernel....they just added support for ota yesterday. Rhythmic Rom should work as well and may save toy from even needing to run ruu.

Thank you both for the help. You were right, it was the radio. For any other noob who finds this thread with the same problem AND the same phone (make sure you don't use this file if you're GSM): I fixed the problem by relocking the bootloader and running the RUU (search for: RUU_PRIMO_C_ICS_40A_Sprint_WWE_VM_1.08.652.6_Radio _1.00.00.0521_2_NV_VM_3.46_0503_PRL61008_release_2 62414_signed.exe)
This got me back to stock and reverted the radio to an older version that is compatible with most of the ROMs.
Again, thanks everyone for the help.
Great job.....now have fun!
