CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Awesome - been waiting for this hopefully pdroid will work soon

Looks good so far. Did no dirty flash. Wiped all my data etc and reflashed. It seems that there are all features of cm10 already included and working fine. Going to try francos kernel next.

Pretty sure it's only member's of the official CM Team that can post the ROM as they have their OP templates...that was the case with CM10.1 on the Nexus 4 anyway

yeah! downloading!
any suggestion about the kernel?

Been waiting for this.
Can I flash this over CM10 stable without doing a full wipe?

going to try dirty flash from 10 nightly to 10.1 nightly; will report back.
EDIT: so far so good.. but it's only been 5 minutes; will try to report back again later today
EDIT 2: Alarm clock doesn't work, says 'stopped working' every time I try to open it.

Clean flash, then report. Probably a problem from the dirty flash.

Go to about phone and tap on the build number 8 times it will appear to you .. Google did that on purpose in Android 4.2 for beginner users not to mess with their devices

Maybe the thread starter should add a faq. The "how can i activate developer settings?" question will come again and and again. People will complain about it

Yes Franco's kernel works. I always use M4 on cm9. I'm running it with the RC now.
Thank you cyanogenmod for the support.
Yes, Franco's kernel will work. I would recommend his nightly 196 linaro kernel (yes, linaro kernels work with non-linaro roms)

Forgive me for my lack of research, but what is Linaro?
Also, I know CM is essentially a souped up stock ROM, correct? Are there any customization features or anything of that sort built-in as well? I'm asking because of the devoted time it takes to backing up your current ROM, testing the new ROM, rolling back to your previous ROM, etc.. I just want to know what I'm getting into pretty much.

[ROM][JB] Team EOS 3 *JELLYBEAN* Nightlies - Toroplus

Team EOSJB 4.1.1 ToroplusNIGHTLIES
Continuing on from the success of the EOS ICS roms, we present to you EOS3, based on JELLYBEAN!
It is the goal of Team EOS to develop and maintain the highest performing and most stable AOSP based rom for an array of platforms. For the latest news on Team EOS releases make sure you follow @teameos on twitter and on IRC on Freenode in #teameos.
--
NOTE: Team EOS, it’s members, friends, dogs, cats, and associates are in no way responsible for any loss of data or device functionality. Use this at your own risk!
--
A quick note on Nightlies: NIGHTLIES ARE DEVELOPMENT BUILDS. They are automatically generated every now and then, and represent the compilation of the latest commits to the code repository. While every effort is made ensure that the commits that are accepted are stable and do not have a negative impact to the overall performance and function of the builds it is not possible to test every aspect of a commits impact to the overall repo prior to it’s inclusion in a given build. As a result it is entirely possible that instabilities may be introduced as a result of a given days commits. That is the nature of the nightly system, and the risk that is taken using the latest code changes to the project.
EOS is an AOSP based rom. It is developed and maintained by Team EOS and is the culmination of our own in house development efforts.
Team EOS Nightly builds: http://goo-inside.me/devs/teameos/roms/eos3/nightlies/toroplus/
G-Apps Package
Because this is an AOSP based rom Google Apps are not included in the base rom. To install Google Apps please flash the following package after installing the base rom:
Temporary Gapps package gapps
--
Features:
Because these are nightly builds the included features are constantly evolving, we do not provide a change log manually. Instead please see the changes on jenkins for your build.
For the most up to date and comprehensive listing of the changes included in this rom please visit http://review.teameos.org
Kernel:
Kernel Note: This rom is currently using the stock kernel, so you can find the sources from aosp.
--
Installation Notes:
These builds are designed to be installed from your favorite recovery.
Perform a full wipe (read Factory Reset) prior to installing this over ANY ICS or JB based rom.
BUGS!
If you find strange or otherwise unexplained errors please report them here: https://bugs.teameos.org/ Please include logcats and as thorough a description of the issue and what lead up to the issue as possible. With out this we will be unable to track down these errors.
Want to contribute to the Eos rom? Well you can!
Just follow http://teameos.org/?page_id=6 to checkout our source code, and information on how to submit changes for review.

Exciting times!! Thank you for bringing more JB sweetness our way!
guys let me know if you find any bugs. But i gotta say, this beast is bad ass right out the box! Mms send/receive works, the device properly provisions on first boot. Ya, it's a bad ass first round. It comes with stock aosp kernel. We mostly do tegra kernel development. So grab your favorite jb compatible kernel and have at it.

Yes. This is built from AOSP. This is not a port from a system dump. And because these are nightlys (more likely 2-3 times a week-lys) new features will be popping up.
Well you are correct. This is a BEAST right off the line. Appreciate all the hard work.

Just flash the new nightly over the top, no need to wipe or install gapps again.
this is horrible. non-stock, the first boot is heavily modified (does not ask you to back up/restore, does not ask about location)
battery percentage mod that cannot be removed
edited the boot animation.
Very disappointed, would never have installed this. I recommend the Are U Jellin RC3 to anyone considering this one.
Do we need to wipe/factory reset if coming from the ACS port? I would think so right? I can't wait to get on to a true AOSP ROM, those ports just feel too....hacked

Parents just don't teach their kids respect these days, do they? If you have something to say about the ROM say it but watch your mouth and show some proper respect. Right now you are in someone else's house and eating their food, don't be rude. And I'm pretty sure Google backup and restore comes from the Gapps, not the ROM.

Hi everyone, here we are... AriesVE Dev Connection Team!!
The beginning...
The idea of a team has begun analyzing/testing and fix the problem of battery consumption in the CAF kernel 3.4.
A bunch of dev and tester has fixed in a week of cooperation the battery drain, and we have seen that joining the forces is more helpful in case of common issues...
That is how is born the DevConnection Team.
Currently the team is composed by the following members: (in alphabethic order)
[Dev] CastagnaIT, Christopher83, Educk, Ivendor, Krislibaeer
[Tester] smeroni68, Xellar, ktulu84
Rom informations:
This release of CM10.1 is based on Arco development for Galaxy W.
What's working:
Audio
Receiving and making calls
GPS
Compass
Proximity sensor
Wifi
Bluetooth
USB mass storage
HW accelerated gui
HW accelerated video
Camera
USB/Wifi tethering
VSync
USB OTG (Only FAT32 support)
Partially working:
Some graphical glitches in Panorama preview
Green color when taking pictures (saved picture is ok though)

Package for Release 5
Update: Google Playstore 4.2.9
Update: Hangouts 1.1
NOTE: Remember to wipe Cache and Dalvik cache from recovery after gapps flash!!
Please verify the md5sum to be sure you got the right one.
Before you install CM10.1: Preparation (First three are optional. If you want to start fresh, these can be skipped)
Install AppBak from Market, run it and save a list of all your apps.
Install SMS Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your SMS history.
Install Call Logs Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your call log history.
Boot into CWM5 recovery. Make a full backup. You will need this backup later if you decide to go back to your previous ROM and data.
WARNING: Many apps will Force Close crash if you restore data from a previous ROM.
Install
Wipe data, cache and Dalvik cache
Flash the rom file *.zip.
Flash the gapps file *.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM10.1 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
Reboot phone.
After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
WARNING: Do not restore backup data of system apps!
If you restore a bad backup with cached settings in telephony.db in data/data/com.*.*.telephony it can break MMS.
It seems that restoring backups can also break Calendar sync.
Upgrades
Upgrades from previous versions of CM10.1 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between CM10.1 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.

Yes I was wondered two about this. Now I have installed the new CM10.1 and there is no BLN. Seems like a copy/paste failure. But no problem guys!
The ROM is very good and better than arcos alpha 7 for the first impression. Will you guys switch back to kernel 3.4 in future?

Thank you ADC Team for supporting our device
Thanks, guys!
I suppose the second screenshot from the left is not taken form an actual ancora device, right?
Cause it should be cm_ancora-userdebug, and not cm_ariesve-userdebug.
Also, I'm quite confused. Is arco going to continue his work on his CM10.1?
If not, would you mind taking a look here for bug reports? Since this is mostly, if not entirely, based on arco's CM10.1, I'm pretty sure the bugs described over there occur in this ROM as well.
I think I'm going to skip it for now until things get clear up.
Thanks a lot
Great..

You could have asked for someone to do it, just as you asked for tester....? Or ask for more than one tester so that one of them can get your screenshots done before releasing the ROM...? I'm just saying.
Anyway, I would like an answer to the following question: is arco going to release future updates on CM10.1 or are you taking over the whole thing? Cause we didn't have any official answer from arco regarding this.
We might be getting started on the wrong foot here so I will just say this: we are all here to help this project evolve. And I personally appreciate what you're doing here.
Let's keep up the good work!
Cheers!

Hello! I was using CM9 eol, and then decided do upgrade to Jelly Bean, so I chose this ROM, and that was the best thing I've ever did with my Galaxy W.
That's the best rom for our phone, no bug, no issues, nothing. It's fast, smooth, stable and has a good battery life.
I have 2 questions:
1st: Can I flash CM10.1 custom kernels on this rom?
2nd: How can I activate navbar on this rom?
If someone wants a screenshot of something, just tell me that, so I'll post.
I've attached some screenshots, take a look!
Thank you!

Hi guys,
We decided to give you this update and we asked Arco before. Probably he will not release anymore update on CM10.1, so we started this activity for you.
Must be clear that we do not fix issues, we just update the sources on CM side and compile with current kernel updated.
A big thanks to Krislibaeer for his time and for the good job.
Most of the team is in vacation and the first post is not full correct... But you know, so we will fix later.

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

It seems that Koush Superuser still does not work. We must use Chainfire SuperSu (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=15380530)

It depends what problem you have. I've been using the unofficial cm's straight out and titanium back up and everything else has worked for me

Welcome to the OFFICIAL thread of Validus ROM for the SGH-M919, Build's are usually updated on a weekly or wheneverwefeellikely basis. All credit goes to Team Ground Zero and all our hardworking Devs. Team Ground Zero is built upon the willingness to learn, create and socialize on Android. Creators of Validus, a custom AOSP ROM with many features created in house as well as pulled from CyanogenMod, SlimROMs, Paranoid Android and others. Members are also dev/maintainers for other popular ROMs. Enjoy your stay! Also, unofficial builds from source will not be supported. You assume all responsibility for anything that may happen and Team Validus cannot and will not be held responsible for anything that may happen to your device as a result of flashing a rom.

Here's a good place to start for CM12 themes.
https://plus.google.com/u/0/communit...86113315228704
****Please Understand that the CM12 Theme Engine is in its early stages and some things may not work or function as they should. Use at your own risk and don't complain about themes in this thread. Our Team has worked really hard to theme this ROM the way we like it....The CM team has to get their theme engine bugs worked out, we are just happy to have it in there to play around with for now.....ALSO, please don't ask us about anything to do with xposed framework as Validus does not support xposed. Use it at your own risk and please don't report ANY bugs you may encounter while using it.

Team decided to take out pie because not working correctly and kernel doesn't have dt2w.. Its in the rom but kernel doesn't support it.. The feature list is a generic list for the team.. Sorry

I'll look into it
@chris4824 I also noticed that the lock screen shows no service even though there is
Its a CM issue.. Happens on my other devices as well.. Hopefully will be fixed soon.. Possibly with 5.1

Yeah that worked, thanks.
I saw a couple other things. This first one might be a CM bug, BBS says WiFi is using battery even though WiFi is turned off. Second the the font is black for the options.
I don't have that problem with WiFi. The team knows about the black text.. Not that big of an issue.. Concentrating on 5.1
