There's already one: Camera Zoom FX. I am sure there are many other camera apps too that can configure volume buttons as camera button.

Download a CM ROM, I think they have it
At least me with the Android 4.1 Camera, idk if they implemented it in the new Camera also, but the new one sucks anyway (apart from photo sphere), especially the gallery.

hi guys! exist! is called camera jb + is based on the previous version of the camera, but with many additional functions! You can customize the buttons trigger and finally there is the possibility of having the geotag icon!
I have it but I do not know if I can post it, since it is a paid application ....

Actually on my phone, the camera's picture quality has lessened! Even though its setted on 5 MB but the quality is still less than Stock Rom.... I wonder why
I think so, picture quality has decreased, but it doesn't matter for me as long as it can used
I took this pict last september ago using CM9 B1, and I really love it

Go to your camera settings, and set focus mode to macro.
Touch your screen to choose your focus object, when it done, touch the shutter button.

There isn't any difference on the photo quality from the stock rom.But it's slower than stock. Focusing is perfect but too slow. It takes 2 seconds! iPhone4 ,xperia Neo V, EVO 3D is faster than our camera(1second or less).

[REQ] Nexus 4 Shutter volume button

Hello, I would like to know if anyone has the opportunity to dévelloper a patch to use the volume button to take a picture / video?
I try a lot of application (ICS camera / JB, Camera Zoom FX, etc. ..) but the playstore quality photos / video is poor compared to the original camera!
I use CM10.1 but there is not this feature!
Thank you in advance.
Yes, use original CM camera, it has that feature. But you will have to live without photosphere.
original cm camera? could you post a link or which cm version?
Ask someone using the cm version to port it out

Gapps in default replaces the camera app , but it's possible to revert that change by removing 73-gapps-mako.sh file from /system/addon.d folder.
After removing the file and reflashing the ROM it's back to the gallery of the rom, which has the powerkey shutter option.
But as I said there will be no photosphere.

[Q] Is there any camera mod for gsm galaxy nexus ?

Hello all, i'm newbie here and i search for camera mods for galaxy nexus, is there anyone have a suggestion for me ? Please help me
I'm not quite sure what do you mean by camera mods, mind if you elaborate?
If you're looking for the stock camera apps with more option, CM has it, it even includes HDR (Although doesn't work anywhere near as good as the one on the N4), you'll lose photosphere and picasa though.

It allows you to capture a greater dynamic range between the darkest and the lightest part of the image.
Example
It doesn't work that well on the Gnex anyway, so it's pretty useless for now.

There should be some buttons combination, like power button + home button for android 4.3 (stock one), and the older combination was power button + vol.down.
I've checked on CM-REMIX (android 4.4.2) and the 2nd combination of buttons works.
There's always a button combination for a screen shot (since android 4.0+ I think).

As you didn't mention what ROM you are running I assume you are running the stock firmware, Samsung's TouchWiz video player got a built-in button to take video shots.

The method mentioned above should work, me personally I use a module for Xposed Installer called Xposed Gesture Navigation and from the settings choose the gestures you want, and their action.
If you have any question concerning Xposed Installer or Xposed Gesture Navigation let me know

The Camera on the One (M8) has now been made obsolete.

So Google just released a new Camera app that creates its own Bokeh effect, and it works really well.

EDIT* You must be on 4.4+ for it to work.
