[MOD][TW][4.1.2] AOSP Lockscreen Toggle and TouchWiz Lockscreen Mods - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Got The AOSP Locksreen to work on stock deodexed Touchwiz Rom.
I'm using NOTEorious Prime RC1.5 JB 4.1.2 AOSP/TW Mash-up N7105
Should work on other Roms as well
This is has Ink Mod Red/Black Built in to the Settings so no need to flash both.
Just Flash the Attached Zips [SECSettings AOSP Lockscreen Addon] and [AOSP Lockscreen] You may need to wipe Cache/Dalvik
As Always BACKUP before you flash anything.
Clock is White Right Now and I am Working on color mods for it.
Have a mod for blue Lockscreen Text
Manual Way:
It is getting hard for me to keep up with all the mod changes and everything going on in my life so I will post the changed files for this mod so that dev's can add them to any ROM.
AOSP Lock.rar has 4 files in side, just replace the files in your ROM with these.
android.policy.jar
\com\android\internal\policy\impl and open LockPatternKeyguardView.smali
SecSettings.apk
/smali/com/android/settings/ folder and open LockscreenSettings.smali
res/xml folder and open lockscreen_settings.xm
The 4th file is only needed if you have problems recompiling it has the changes need for wfd_picker_dialog.xml. It goes in res/layout.

TouchWiz LockScreen Mods
I will place My Touchwiz Lock-screen Mods in this post to keep the 2 separate. These do not interfere with the toggle mod so both can be flashed.

Didnt work for me on CleanRom

Could someone please post screen shots? I've been waiting for AOSP lock screen so that I could get the music controls that are difficult to get to in TW lock screen. I just want to make sure this is what I'm looking for before I load it up.
Also, does this add custom app access like modified AOSP lock screen?
Hitting thanks to OP for his effort, whether I end up using this or not.

That's what it looks like on mine with the all blue text. Will probably make an all black for that wallpaper.
Lockscreen icons are in framework-res. So you can change them to anything you want Slide up for Google Now [Hard to see on White Wallpaper]
I am working on lockscreen mods for this. A lot of the structure is in the original system so it makes it a little easier but I still have to find the hidden ones.
Lockscreen Targets can be modified but not easily. Would have to redirect the targets manually.

It seems this doesn't work Saurom install unfortunately ):
Flashed SECSettings AOSP Lockscreen Addon.zip with AOSP Lockscreen.zip in TWRP. I tried it with and without wiping the cache. All I got were bootloops.
Luckily I had a backup so this was no real problem for me.
Still looking forward to this mod when its working!

That mod is a hybrid so I'm guessing the android.policy.jar is different. Send that to me and the SecSettings.apk and I can see if I can get it working on there.

I'm guessing it is different. I just looked at the thread and I bet they modified it quite a bit to get the google wallet and per app dpi working. I'm trying to decide which ROM to flash next. If you want you can send me your android.policy.jar and secsettings.apk and I can try to make it for you.

Possibly. The framework for the aosp lockscreen is already built in. All I had to do was reference it. Samsung just added there stuff on top. If you send me your android.policy.jar and secsettings.apk . I can look at it and try the method I used for the note 2 if you don't mind testing.

OP - i'm using your AOSP lock screen with a stock, deoxed N7105XXDLK7, 4.1.2, rooted rom (with unsecured boot.img) from this thread and it's working fine. question: am i correct to assume that the AOSP shortcuts cannot be modified (e.g., change Camera to Email)? thanks for posting this!

[MOD] [JVP] Statusbar Tweaks - EDT - 6/14/11

Hey guys,
So in order to prepare for our (eventual) Vibrant Gingerbread release I started working on porting a couple of my mods to JVP just to learn and this just sort of happened.
With Gingerbread, I only needed to change one thing in the system, SystemUI.apk. The rest is set with my app. Furthermore, with how the app is setup, these mods can easily be ported to (I'm guessing) any Gingerbread ROM.
How the mods work: with how it is setup, there's almost no smali editing (I'm just as surprised as you are). I simply coded widgets in Java, and decompiled the new Smali classes and put them into SystemUI. Then all I had to do was change the SystemUI statusbar.xml layout to include my new widget. However, I had to add in some smali code to get the battery & the signal bar to toggle, however, they're very easy edits . Now on to the good stuff.
Installing
You can install the EDT Tweaks app or you can push it to /system/app
You must push SystemUI.apk to /system/app
I don't want to make a flashable quite yet because I want more experienced users to test this out, etc.
ROM Developers
You may use this in your ROM, however I have a few conditions:
-Keep the EDT "About" section intact. You may add to it, but do NOT remove anything from it.
-Do not rename the EDT Tweaks app, but you may provide your own icon for it
kanging is bad mkay
Sources
For people who wish to incorporate this into their own framework or modify it the sources are in my github (link in my sig, I suck at github btw)
Porting
As I said earlier, there's minimal smali editing. So. To port this to your SystemUI.apk you need to first decompile both of our SystemUIs, then grab the extra files from mine (BatteryText*.smali & Clock*.smali) and put them in yours.
Next, you can just grab my SystemUI.apk/res/layout/status_bar.xml and put it in the same location as yours. I doubt yours has changed much .
Alright almost done! Now to get the icons toggling (my text widgets will toggle without the following smali edits) you can just copy my StatusBarPolicy.smali over to yours OR if you really want to know the edits I did (if you're not using a Galaxy S based phone) open up com/android/systemui/statusbar/policy/StatusBarPolicy.smali and search for "# start." All of my additions start with it and will end with a similar tag. I can help if you like, just message me.
Bugs
- any modifications to the icons will take a minute to update (signal bar toggle & battery icon toggle, just unplug/replug to toggle it, or it will show when percent goes down)

[Mod][4.1.2][TW] Ink Effect No S Pen Now with Red/Black [Darker Ink]

New Darker Ink - For those of you that like the darker ink over the stock ink I modified the colors to make them bolder. Let me know what you think.
Flash either Darker ink or Ink Effect Red and Black but not both. They override each other.
Just flash the files attached. The first is the new patched android.policy.jar which should work like the other
The 2nd is a vrtheme to add classes.dex to secsettings so that you can choose the new colors
Step 1:
Flash the ink effect that you would like. Only diffenece between v1 and v2 is the grey shadow on lockscreen.
Step 2:
Flash SecSettings RedBlack especially if you want the Red and Black options to show up in you settings menu.
That's it. Pretty simple If you want darker in pick that one, if you want the standard ink pick that one. They override each other so only pick one.
I also attached the classes.dex file so you can do it manually for different roms, just overwrite the classes.dex in the secsettings.apk DO NOT FLASH THIS ONE. IT JUST HAS CLASSES.DEX IN IT.
V2
Removed the greyish tint on lockscreen that bajanman noticed. If you like it you can keep v1 that is the only change.
I would like to give a special thanks to jarari2 for helping me get the arrays right in the smali.
Confirmed Working on
NOTEorious Prime RC1.5 JB 4.1.2 AOSP/TW Mash-up N7105

Will this overwrite the previous policy.jar? Or add to it? Things like 4 way reboot are coded into it and unless its baked in with it then it could break that functionality right?

Empowering stock rom

Hello there,
I have been using stock rom for three days with certain mods and so far I like it a lot.
Just wanted to let you know about the possible mods you can find to empower the stock rom :
1. Advanced power menu
2. Battery percentage
3. Centre clock
4. T9dialer
5. Sms with quick reply from CM or other Roms works fine
6. Customised tiles with quick pulling (kevdliu mod)
You won't find mods for:
Volume wake (but you can buy pgm app for that)
Screenlock targets
Navigation bar targets (just Google search)
So far I am enjoying stock rom. Maybe I will keep using it.
However this post is a sign of personal gratitude to all users here that share their knowledge and make the stock rom a pleasant software for daily use. At least for me.
Cheers
This thread would be more useful with posted links to those mods attached.
Here we go:

It is certain that you will enjoy stock rom through these mods.
T9 dialer doesn't seem to work on odexed jdq39.
All the mods are for deodexed rom and for JDQ39.
There is luckily also a variant of extended power menu for odexed stock .
I'm not 100% sure since I havent done this on the Galaxy Nexus. But there is a file in /system/usr/keylayout/ that handles the hardware button actions. On my Verizon Nexus using CM10.1, the file is called "tuna-gpio-keypad.kl". In that file there will be three lines for the three buttons. VOLUME_DOWN, VOLUME_UP, and POWER. I'm not sure what the stock file has in it but if there is no "WAKE" after the volume buttons, putting it there should allow the volume wake option. Power should have WAKE after it already. This is all just in theory though. I used to mess with my hardware button controls with my old device. Havent done anything with the Nexus.
Well the wake word is there for both volume up, down and power. I think it is done on framework file.
These are all great mods I've used on any stock ROM I tried. Two mods kept me going to custom ROMs, volume keys to skip music tracks while screen off and no theme engine support. If I could get those two into the mix, I might consider a stock ROM again lol.

Here's an odexed T9 dialer I just made. I'm not on stock so I couldn't test. Recommend to make a backup of your contacts.apk and contacts.odex just in case of issues. Nandroid recommended as well. Please report if it works or has any issues.

If anyone on stock tries this, if you could verify contacts.apk and contacts.odex were placed in /system/app and permissions were set correctly, then it should be working unless something went wrong with the odexing, but I received no errors and removed the .dex file from the .apk. Any feedback is appreciated. This can be flashed via CWM/TWRP or if you are rooted, you can extract the contacts.apk and contacts.odex and copy them to /system/app and set permissions rw-r--r--. Remember to backup your existing files first or rename them by adding .bak to the filename. After copying the files, a reboot is needed.

AOSP Compatible S4 Touchwiz Launcher w/S4 Weather!!! Updated 4/17

4/17 - I've now updated it to a flashable zip, you get the S4 launcher and S4 weather widget
I love AOSP roms for the customizability and I also really like the touchwiz launcher so after many, many trials and errors and having to learn how to use apktool to decompile and build apk's i've modded the touchwiz launcher to work for AOSP roms. I know this isn't anything new since it's been done before, what makes this different is the homescreen is a 4x5 layout and the app drawer is 4x6 with a fully themed S4 Accuweather widget. I know a lot of you use custom launchers and this is not your cup of tea, this is for those who like the look of a stock launcher with a custom aosp rom.
The S4 weather widget really gave me a hard time, and because I was just learning it took me a very long time to get it to work but i've finally figured it out and it should work without any problems. Please note that in order to avoid a widget display problem I had to make the widget thumbnail in the app drawer transparent. It shows up just fine once you apply it.
I'll welcome any feedback and all I ask for is a thanks if you like it.
This should be compatible on any AOSP, CM10.1 based roms. I am personally using LiquidSmooth stable version.
Please make a backup and use at your own risk
Installation instructions:

It's now flashable!
Copy to SD card
Flash in recovery
Reboot and enjoy!

I'd like to give credit to dr30ma for the original s4 weather widget for the I9300 from which I ported over to work with our device. Also, thanks to Andybones for the universal flasher tool I used.

Can anyone who has successfully got this working try to see if the GS3 Touchwiz camera works? If part of the TW framework is installed, maybe some of the proprietary apps will work as well.

I haven't tried installing the camera but I suspect more might be needed to get it to work. Maybe certain libs and other framework. Give it a shot and let us know.

Just tried it and it didnt work. I even wiped cache/dalvik/fix pemissions. They don't even show up in the app drawer.
Tried camera, gallery, and calendar. None of them showed up.

S4 SecLauncher finished
Wasn't too bad porting the s4 launcher to work. I'm using a TW rom at this very moment so i'm unable to test it on an AOSP rom so if I have any volunteers i'll post the link to the launcher. If you've already installed the launcher from this post then you will just replace the SecLauncher2.apk in /system/app with this one. Rename your original something like SecLauncher.bak just in case you wanna go back to it you could just rename it back to original. This one also has a 4x5 homepage and a 4x6 menu layout.
Download Link
Don't forget to remove the "s4" from s4SecLauncher2.apk after you copy it over or else it won't work.
Apologies if this is a dumb question but will this give me the Touchwiz dialer or gesture control, like swiping with the hand to screenshot? I'm also using Liquidsmooth and those are the only things I really miss.

No, it just gives you the launcher and weather widget. Although I'm also on liquid smooth and I installed it like it says in the op, and whenever I try to open touchwiz it just forces close on me. Fixed permissions, cleared caches, still the same result.

Hello again ,
I started getting force closes whenever I used the aosp messaging app or the aosp phone app..this was the case with the initial s3 launcher.
As for the s4 launcher, It wouldn't lemme get to the home screen. Touch wiz kept force closing as soon as I rebooted once I finished pushing the file.
I am on aosp deviant xone BTW .
Thanks

OK I'll rework it today if I have time after work and see if I can fix the s4 launcher. Sorry guys.

I know what's happening...I forgot to include the badgeprovider.apk which notifies you when you get a text and you'll keep getting force closes without it. I'll upload it here in a second. Just push it to /system/app and fix permissions, and reboot and you'll be good to go. I'll fix the original package and upload it seperately for you so you don't have to download the whole thing again.
Download BadgeProvider.apk
Almost forgot to mention, this will just fix the s3 launcher force closing not the s4 launcher. Still need time to figure it out the s4 launcher on AOSP, works fine in Touchwiz.

[4.4.2 MODS] S5 Apps and Tweaks

I've shared these tweaks in a couple other threads. Enough people seemed interested, that I decided to share them here.
S5 Apps
All of these apps are confirmed working.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2677686
I have came across this thread. But, I have not checked to see how reliable these apps are.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2690997
EDIT 4/26/14: @Southern_mind has found a thread with a stock rom for the VZW S5. Be sure to test the apps found in here and let us know what works for you!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2728128
EDIT 4/26/14: @Misterxtc has posted the working files for MMS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52217991&postcount=45
EDIT 4/25/14: I found boot and shutdown animations for the S5 that can be flashed through Safestrap here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/themes-apps/galaxy-s5-boot-shutdown-animation-t2694225
S5 Settings
I just used the app that was included in this zip and replaced the system app using Root Explorer. It works okay, but I would like to see this done to the settings app for our model. If anybody can do this mod, please share.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2661715
S5 Toggles and Recent Apps
Xposed - Very easy install, great if your already using Xposed. Plus this gives you a few more options.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2719909
Build Prop Edits - Very easy
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2677196
Framework
This has been done on other variants, yet still has a few bugs. I'm not sure if they would work on our device as I am not willing to try it currently. But if somebody would like to try it, or mod them for our device, please share.
EDIT 4/25/14: I have flashed framework. It looks great. However, I had issues with incoming calls afterwards. DO NOT flash SystemUI. I have tested it, it is not compatible with our model.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2718341
Download Booster
I can not find any threads that convince me that it has successfully been ported. The settings mod allows you to turn the feature on, but it does't actually work. The only thing I've seen that works similar to this, is in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667025
ADDED 04/26/14
S5 Launchers
@jolly_roger_hook has some modded S5 launchers that will work great with everything else. Check out his thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2731391
Other Mods
I am currently looking for mods that may work, or could be ported over, to give us even more S5 features. Let us know if you find the particle lockscreen, ultra power saving mode, fonts, or download booster. If you can think of other mods that we should look for, or can already use, let us know.
Thanks
Thanks for the following people that have contributed or have been active in the testing of these mods. Make sure that you stop by their threads or posts and at least press the thanks button if they helped you out. They don't have to share their work, but they do so everybody can have a better experience. @Southern_mind @jolly_roger_hook @popkurn611 @Misterxtc
Anybody else I may have missed
Also thanks to BeansTown106, ChainFire, SexTape, Hashcode, Sparky_b, and anybody else I may have missed for helping to make this possible.
None of this is my original work. I just wanted to share what I have found. If your phone gets bricked, catches on fire, divorces you, etc..., its not my fault. Tinker at your own risk.

I wanted to just flash just framework, do I do that just as a flash through SS? I did the xposed mod for the toggles and recent apps so what is the systemui.apk in the same thread as the framework that makes you edit the build prop?
