I modified the phone.apk for AOKP rom to allow both a lower dpi and removal of the Phantom VM icon. I tested the lower DPI and confirmed it works but I don't have the Phantom VM, so I can't test it. This may work on other AOSP roms but I am not sure. If you have Phantom VM, please report back if it fixes. Thank you.

So this is fugutweaks pulled from Samsung ROMs.
It really gives you a smoother scrolling experience on AOSP ROMs.
It replaces your app_process and system_server binaries
Samsung has optimized those two files thus giving a better experience than stock android ones.
Sorry guys. I know some of you feel that this is just placebo. I realized that the files are same with S2's and Note's files.
I don't know about it initially as I used AOSP ROM that time and I didn't tried it on samsung ROM.

Yes it can. But don't flash it. Instead, extract it and copy the files manally using root explorer. Or replace the update-binary forst before you flash it.

After you download my file, you will get a zip file. Extract it. It contains 2 folders, meta-inf and system. Go into /system/bin/. It contains 2 files. Copy them into your /system/bin and set their permissions to be the same as other files in that folder

It´s working for me. I´m on stock deodexed LPF. Boot animation is still there. The only thing I did is copy the files with root explorer instead of flashing zip.

That is easier said than done almost every Rom would need a different flashable zip that is why there is not one I know there is one for aokp millstone 5 but that's all I know... You could probably do it yourself just pick a Rom and change the icon

You just need to swap around the filenames in the SystemUI.apk so that it will show the 4g icons when you are using Hspa
-extract SystemUI.apk from /system/app
-move to your computer
-rename SystemUI.apk to SystemUI.zip
-go in and mess around, go figure, do not extract the zip, or it won't work.

Interesting. I did that exactly and then I renamed it back to SystemUI.apk and did an overwrite in /system/app but the connection still shows H instead of 4G. I basically renamed the 4G and H icon files vice versa. That should work right? I did a reboot as well. Do I have to keep it as zip and then flash it using recovery instead?
When I come home I can try to do something with metamorph. Then it can be used on any rom/version.

why is the H horrible? It's a much more accurate indicator of network type than "4G". G's are just marketing BS, HSPA is what you're using...

It's not a flashable zip.
Try messing with other folders, i recalled the SystemUI.apk having 2 or more folders with these icons.
This is awesome and worked really well but it got rid of my Battery display.
Here is the 4.1.1 Stock camera from our devices. I have edited and removed the stupid gallery. I find it to be very slow and annoying to use. QuickPic is my Gallery of choice. The camera still allows you to swipe to the right to view your pictures taken with the camera.
I have completely removed the gallery. It does not exist
You need root. Easiest way to install this is by using a root file browser, navigating to /system/app and deleting the file "Gallery2.apk"
Then download "JB Camera no Gallery.apk" from the attachments, and simply install to your device.
OR
Download the zip, and reboot to recovery and flash it in recovery.

What the heck is picasa? I have never heard of it and saw the code for it and since i never heard of it i let it go. However, i have no idea what it is, so i have no idea if it will work or not.
Picasa=Google plus photos.
I sync my pictures with it and then i can see it in the gallery

Your welcome. Photo Bucket is also a good place to store photos that you want to post in the forum. If you look in the homescreen screenshot thread you'll see that the posts I've made are full size shots. By copying the image link from Photo Bucket and pasting it in a post, it adds a full picture instead of the thumbnails many of the members use.
As mentioned earlier, it's also a great place to story your pictures instead of keeping them on the sd card. It's a good option for those who don't have a lot of
space. :thumbup:

That's weird seeing as the only thing in the zip is the keyboard.... Do you have a symlink to the Samsung keyboard in preload/symlink/system/app? If so, delete it... if not check in the ROM zip and extract it and put it in the above mentioned spot and change permissions to 0644. I'm just shooting in the dark, just something you can try. Let us know if it works.

Ok, so take the apk from the zip and place it there and system/app, set permissions to 0644 for both. If that doesn't work idk. Oh and from your screenshot, it would be above those, SamsungIME comes before SecBrowser in alphabetical order

Ok so placed them and set permission and still get the Samsung keyboard has stopped. Then reflash ed the zip checked both places it's there permission set to 0644. Still get the error.

It's not possible unless someone would theme it like that. I have tried to theme the launcher more accurately but I had no luck getting the different png files to show for the indicators.
