[Q] Xperia Ion not turning on - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

I tried to apply that kernel to root the phone and after it rebooted it was just showing sony, turning off then showed sony again, it was doing that over and over again, and hard shutdown pressing pwr+down vol for 10 seconds and it turned off
now i cannot even turn back on the phone or start in fastboot or flash to fix it.
Do you think it bricked the phone? is there any other way to make it work again?
i followed this guide that worked for me the first time but now it did not work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963961
I used this kernel Stock_Kernel_6.1.E.3.7_Root.elf - 11 MB in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2047456
If you know any other way to make it work let me know please, i got this phone like a week ago brand new unlocked non AT&T

Charge the phone in a wall charger for a few hours then try the guide again

I did that and now i get a red light in the indicator light
Now it does the same Logo boot looping but still not able to get the blue or green light to flash is there any trick?
i am following this

There are two things you might need to know
[[a]] IF YOU ARE NOT GETTING RESPONSE FOR HARD RESET(3 vibration) AND SOFT RESET(1 vibration) by pressing { Power + VOL.UP}
SIMPLY PLUG YOUR PHONE TO WALL CHARGER
UNTILL YOU GET CONSTANT RED/ORANGE LED. Mine took 20 hrs to get red led from NO LED(Off) to RED LED BLINKING.
[] {BLINKING RED LED WON'T BE A PROBLEM} JUST GIVE IT MORE TIME, Can Take Few Minutes and utop hrs to GET CONSTANT RED LED,
Main target is either getting Boot Loop OR getting Hard /Soft reset into WORK, if you still haven't got it, Charge it for 10 minutes in wall charger AND.
[ Setup the Flashtool with FTF of Your NXT Phone and when it asks for Phone] (((( Just Plug In Your Phone Into PC for 5-15 minutes )))
If You Got Boot Loop Means You're One Step Close
1) Try Power+VOL.UP for Single Vibration (Soft RESET) If you get Single Vibration then quickly Press the Volume UP Button, while keeping it pressed Connect the USB to PC.
If Dont get Blue Light then again do SOFT RESET and Try.
try it with Usb already Connected too Keep usb Plugged in and Soft reset the phone and quickly press Volume.UP button keep it pressed till you get Blue Light If turned out to be red try again .
Keep it in mind that if you got boot loop or you can reset the phone you are only One Step close
Now Blue led / fastboot mode gives you an option to flash kernel.sin and system.sin separately so extract it from ftf file using 7-zip.
and start Flashtool Click Thunder icon --> select Fastboot --> select kernel to flash ---> (select kernel.sin which you extracted from ftf) --> NO flash it and then -----> Select System to Flash ---> (Select the System.sin from extracted location)
2) If you Don't get any response from your phone Just Keep it in Wall charger for another cycle to complete It may take 10-24hrs If you don't get success even after that try for another 10-15hrs to get Green LED like Our frnd Spectre Style (Keeps on Charging for 2 days to get GREEEN)
Don't think that if you dont have 50% then you can't
When i Flashed i had only 2-3 % battery And when Phone turned On it showed 0% and instantly Switched off. and guess what i had put it on charging for 2 days. So It Doesn't matter Just make sure you do 10 minutes of charging for the further flashing thats all.
I was modding the kernel i messed up with kernel itself, wrong RPM.bin/symlinks (long story), Did Hard Reset and phewww Phone was Completely UNRESPONSIVE, and by my procedure got it successfully recovered . Don't freak out you'll eventually do it...
This NXT series needs charge charge and charge (battery charge OR will eat up your minds charge) But still Love it
btw What is Your Situation, Tell me frankly what was it you messed with
My reply is Sooo Big but yes can make it your phone alive, So Put Phone on Charger if you have it right now , and read from top to bottom and decide in which situation your phone is right now. Make a note of what happened when what you did, as this will help ppl when you share it.

Well the phone was not being recognized by the computer
After the Bootloop it does that like 5 or 7 times then it stays there like if it were on but the screen is black ( you still can see that the screen is on but in black)
Now Windows was asking me to install a driver called qhsusb_dload i was searching the drivers for it and i found one that comes with an application called s1tool.7z
I did a forced install and i selected the driver in the list called Zeus Flash Device that was what was installed in a tutorial i was trying.
Now Flashtool detects that there is a device connected but i still cannot get flash or fastboot mode
maybe you guys have an idea once it ask for that driver qhsusb_dload
FYI bootloader was unlocked
Flashtool shows this message now
28/016/2012 10:16:26 - INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
28/016/2012 10:16:26 - INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode but cannot flash yet

I did it on my xperia s..
It should surely work.
And if ur phone drivers are nt recognised jst install pc companion.
Also ur download might get interrupted in between due to shut down of ur cell.
Dnt panic.
Jst remove ur phone from computer WITHOUT closing ur sus window and charge in wall socket till u get orange led light.
Thn again plug in usb pressing vol down.
Thn press retry in sus.
Download will resume..
U might need to do it 5-6 times as battery wont charge more than 5%.

Thanks now i am just waiting for the phone to shutdown because screen looks like it still on after that i will do the wall charge to start doing what you said.

Shut down ur phone by pressing volume up + power off..
It will giv one vibration after 3 sec.
Leave the keys.
After about 10 seconds again press both the keys.
Wait for about 8 seconds.
U'll get 3 vibration.
It means ur cell is off now..
Wait fr about 30 secs for the capacitor to get discharged.
After that do wat I said in my above post

well that did not work, when i connect the phone to the PC when the application ask me to plug it led goes red but the application does not detect the phone.
Sometimes shows a MTP USB install driver but that is it, i have the drivers installed from the Flashtool all of them and also the one for PC companion.
The red light stays on, after a while the phone boots automatically then it shows Sony and restarts and does it again..
any other suggestion?
I have tried pressing quickly the down vol button while it is doing that to see if i get flash mode but nothing...
If nothing works do you know where i need to send the phone to have it fixed? or if you have any other ideas let me know.
Thanks

Hi, i think i hame the same problem. I already searched everywhere and I'm loosing my hopes. I'm trying to revive a Xperia Ion and this is what I get:
When I plug the phone in the wall charger the red led turns on for some minutes and then turns off.
The same happens when I plug on PC, when the led turns off it is detected as "Somc flash device" in windows device manager and this shows in flashtool:
INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode
Nothing changes if I plug in pc with volume + or - pressed, it don't goes into fastboot or flashmode.
I hope you could help me. Thanks

Guys phone is completely unresponsive, you can't turn it on, you cant boot into flash mode or fastboot mode... Its just turned off and it used to have backlit on with the entire screen black, when i plug micro usb cable it only tries to Charge the battery (RED led is on, no Orange led), for several hours. Nothing happens.
I Really need help. Thanks!

Thank you, my phone has no blinking red light, but when I plugged it to my PC to start trying some tricks, the led went off. And I think is dead again, should I wait until red led comes back? Also, Flashtool sees my device as MTP or something like that and when I try to soft reset it, Flashtool says Disconnected and then connected, so hopes are high. (No Screen at this time, still black, no boot logo or battery icon)
Did ur phone have enough charge? If may have to charge it properly before it can boot properly.

[HELP] bricked XPERIA S by silly mistake

Hello friends,
I am new (and dumb too) to XDA and all the root and all these things.
I just rooted and unlocked bootloader of my Xperia S.
and flashed the Jelly bean AOSP ROM as in following thread.
[ROM]JB AOSP 4.2.1 alpha 2
I was playing in recovery mode and I don't which option I choose but I think something like "Wipe Partitions" or "Format partitions"
After that I rebooted phone but it just went dead.
I think the battery was low (~15%) when I messed up.
Now it's not responding to anything, no boot, no recovery mode, no fastboot, no flash mode,(vol + or vol - with power) :crying:
Only thing was that I put it on wall charger at 2:00 am (no LED), at morning 10::am RED LED was strong on, but still no fastboot and flash mod e while connecting to pc :crying:
Still I kept on charging whole day ( I saw some threads regarding XPERIA S UNBRICK )
now after ~8hours, connected to pc but still detection.
Also I want to mention that When LED was on while charging and the I connected to pc , IF LED went ON , then phone not detected by computer.
and after sometime the LED went off , then Device says it connected as in screen shot below, but no fastboot or flashmode.
Please help me. Sorry for bad representation.
Hi, the i'm not a phone wizz but it happen't to me a few days ago as well. Tried everything almost bought a new phone because i thought it was bricked....
Now it's alive and kickin'.
For me worked:
Mine randomly started up till the battery was empty, 2-3min and that was enough.
Download the Emma flashtool, it's from Sony itself.
Install the flashtool and start it..let it settle.
With the red light on when it starts try to get it in plug in the usb in the phone (it's already connected in the pc) while holding the volume button down, and when you're lucky the flashtool will recognize the phone and will collect the correct software/ROM/kernel. Just hit the install/repair button and that worked for me, it installed the correct software and it was alive again...
Wish you all the luck.

no response from Emma. Also no flashboot or fastboot :crying:
Have installed the fastboot drivers for your phone?
If you connect your phone with vol- or vol+ you shouldn't get a red light, it should be blue or green.
Try charge phone for a while then download a jellybean kernel (e.g. *.sin file), then adb push the kernel to the phone. Boot into recovery and refresh rom.
This will require adb and drivers both available in the flashpoint folder.

OK I will try. But the phone RED LED going on as a charging indicator only.
(Generally when phone shuts down at 0% battery and if we boot it up without charging, it turns on and turn off , after i fyou connect the charger, the instance the RED LED goes on but screen remains blank, After sometime the screen shows charging battery )
the same case is happening with me.
Should I remove battery, will it void its warranty?

So u can charge ur phone? It sounds like all u need to do is reinstall a kernel then a rom. No need to remove battery. If you connect urban phone to a usb, when off, and hold a volume key you should not get a red led. You get a red led when u don't have flashmode and/or fastboot.

Have you tried a 'hard' reset of the phone/power.
Phone may be in a loop with power still on or some other state.
Hold the power button -and- volume up button for a good 10 seconds.
You may feel the phone vibrate once then a few seconds later it vibrates three times in rapid succession.
This should indicate the phone is powered down.
If powered down, it may then be able to recharge itself and if you're lucky show a battery charging icon.
When recharged, I'd use SEUS to reload the stock firmware.
Good luck.

as long as you cant do the power+vol up till it vibrates 3 times, u cant connect to flashtool/fastboot.
imo, what u can do now: charge the phone for some hours then do the power+vol up again. if it still wont vibrates, leave it for couple of days, hoping the battery will drain, then charge it, do the same process. still wont vibrates (or if u want faster way), bring it to sony service center.

The reason why i don't want to do it because if i did it my phone will be cheaper because it will called "Fixed Phone".
Now i got the first logo again while it's connected to the PC , i tried to press VOL- but flashtool didn't detect it and came dead again.
Maybe the next time i can get into recovery , but what can i do?

if its not working now is cheaper. but you have to tell nobody that you disassembled it to fix ur phone.
but if you have time try this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31618617&postcount=32
Thats what i am trying to do.
Now i get my phone on again , and i got into recovery and reboot it to fastboot , flashed stock kernel.sin.
Then i turned it on and it show sony logo then i did 3 vibrates to get it off to flash a stock rom but dead again.
Now i am thinking how to get to flashmode?

All what i can get ofter connecting to PC for a long time is the device start up and show Sony logo then the logo disapear and reboot then do it again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again then stop booting and got dead.
Edit 1: When it show Sony logo i tried to press VOL+ and connect the usb but no fastboot , the same with flash mode.
Edit 2: When it start rebooting wave again i tried to press VOL+ and - then it got stuck with black screen , Flashtool can detect it in USB debigging off mode and it can't be turned off with the 3 vibrates trick.
Edit 3: By removing the sim card the phone turned off. Now back to the first stage with only red led and after long time connecting to PC it show Sony logo then reboot.

I think: you should turn off but when it trying turning off it goes brick, get stuck... i dont know you have to turn off manual ( with disassemble) and connenct usb and vol up because now it cannot be in fastboot or flash mode. or you should leave it to full discharge than it will turn off but it may take several weeks.

No problem , thank you for trying help.
Charging for 10 hours , only red led.
while on a loop, press the volume down button and connect it to the PC. If it doesn't work, press power+vol up till it vibrates once keeping the vol down button pressed as well. if it goes into flashmode, forget everything and flash stock ftf.
on a red led situation, hold the vol down and connect it to PC. It will show no led but keep holding it for long, it will go into flashmode

I tried that to make it restart with one vibrate but no flashmode , i will try it again with holding the VOL- before i do the vibrate.
For the led when i connect it to the PC holding VOL- the red led apear , why?
**** **** **** **** **** **** me , whn it start the rebooting i pressed the VOL+ and = and the power bottom and it start to connect and dis connect again on MTP debugging off mode and after a while i got the green led and flash mode but the ftf waz compressed and while it's extracting the green led gone....
Fixed!!!!
This is small guide what to do:
1- Charge your phone with PC or wall charger until you get a stable red led (Stable led not flashing led) maybe that will take hours.
2- Now connect your phone to the PC , you will find the red led back again.
3- The idea now is that your phone will auto start after some time , you need to be holding the VOL- bottom before it start up that you can get a green led and you can flash the rom with flashtool.
Some times it got start up after like 4 minuits after you connect it to PC , and other times maybe it will take like 20 minuits to start. So you have to hold the VOL- bottom almost the time and there is no problem if you let the bottom for some seconds , but be carefull that it will suddenly boot up so you have to be holding the bottom.
If you success with rom flashing , connect your phone to the charger and wait until it will start first time and get dead , then start again normaly
Charge ur phone with wall charger (its faster than pc) until u get green led. After that, hold Vol - and connect the phone to pc.

Xperia Ion (LT28at) needs URGENT help!

I tried to flash the Generic JB firmware on it yesterday and caused it to completely brick.
Is there an easy way to fix this? My laptop recognizes it as "SEMC Flash Device" but other than that the phone will not turn on, will not charge (no LED), or even reboot while pressing (volume key).
Is my phone busted? Someone please help me restore this, I have no other phone to use, and really need to get this fixed.
Try this
Does your phone Buzz once when you press power+ volume up?
if it does then hold it till it buzzed 3 times
then click this --- > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170

I really wanna keep this "new" situation appointed to this thread (in case this happens to anyone else):
alright I'm gonna start a "HARD RESET ON MY XPERIA ION LT28AT"
- The phone is completely dead, no LED when plugged in.
- Computer recognizes phone as "SEMC flash device"

You should really listen to the advice given and read all the stuff in the first two post of the linked thread. All of the answers are there for you. For a L28at the rubber band trick looks like a great option. But you must plug your phone in to your wall charger and leave it alone. If you mess with it before it starts looping it will only take you longer to get it going again.
It happen with my ion also.
Charge your phone upto 15 to 30hrs then you see yellow led, don't plug out wait for green led to come up.then flash your phone with stable firmware.

I already searched everywhere and I'm loosing my hopes. I'm trying to revive a Xperia Ion and this is what I get:
When I plug the phone in the wall charger the red led turns on for some minutes and then turns off for some minutes, then on again, and stays in this loop, no matter how many days I keep it in the wall. I already changed charger and cable.
Thanks
