You can also overclock your phone. Sometimes you can find this by: settings / performance / cpu. You can also download an overclockwidget or something else from the market. Overclocking makes your phone faster but is asking very much from your battery. The battery is becoming warmer si you have to look out and dont overclock to much.

Overclocking works very well, as I am running heavy games without problem!!

For GSM nxt light is the best you can overclock to whatever your kernel supports so 1.2 isn't the Max ovrrclock limit
Light edition it the better for gaming u get about 250 free ram on average

For music player, I'm using poweramp and it's really good with great equalizer.
About the themes, I'm not trying any so I can't help you with that. I'm just using some wallpapers though.

If you need a good gaming rom it will have to be GB. I suggest you try Nxt 1.3 by kris dee and you should use doomkernel v1.4. And overclock the kernel for better gaming performance .
Hit thanks if this helps

Its used gaming for gaming for better graphic and performance
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda premium
From what I have experienced using it, is that it lowers down the graphic performance so that the game can run smoothly. Speed at the cost of high end graphics
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda premium
It is a GUI modification software, it is capable of lowering down graphic details so that a certain program can run in lower performance phones. But it does not support most games though, I tried, uninstalled. It can even reduce quality of your launcher if you wanted to. But then your phone will look bad.
all the previous posts are relatively correct but ill just tell you one thing
chainfire 3D DOESN'T SUPPORT ICS ROMS (ur currently on cm9 which is ics)
It works on MIUI (CM9 BASED). I've tried

the dev of the app was the one who said his app doesn't support ics or jb (it has no improvement when its installed and applied, no changes are done) so i guess if u can see any improvement using it on miui, u shall tell him

In a nutshell:
Gingerbread ROMs are known to have incomplete OpenGL ES support. 3D games *require* OpenGL ES. Chainfire 3D adds the necessary drivers to Gingerbread.

Thanks everyone for the BIG replies... Anyway I tried installing it on my CM9 ROM and it does work cos' i think i set everything to perfomance graphics and then when i reboot, EVERYTHING become distorted including the icons... Temple Run does work weirdly but it SO smooth using it... Now, due to my MASS flashing power, Im using MIUI and i will install Chainfire 3d

i've been using this app since my GB days with my wonder,,
and i can say that its working for me,,,
i've tried it with raiden legacy,, reduce to 16 bit,,, and now there's no white screen problem within the game compared to playing this one without chainfire3d
NICE! So in order to make gaming smoother, i have to reduce to 16 BIT? I tried with CM9 once and icons became distorted... :/ What configs do you use ?

Does Real Racing 3 lag?

Guys, I'm playing Real Racing 3 on my Note2 and I experience lags in the animation before each race and when there are 15+ cars. Do you guys experience any lags on your notes or is it just me...

I have stock MB2 ROM, and you guys?

I'm using Omega v13 - and it had lag ever since it's release... Can you guys tell us what roms/kernels are you using so you dont have lag? Are you on 4.1.1 or 4.1.2? ....
on PhoeniX v8 and Perseus 33.4 I have no lag
I use stock rooted DMB2 too, and it has Lags when I play a race with 22 other cars. I tested the game on the iPhone 5 and it runs very smooth. Lets hope there are coming some updates in the future to make the performance better.
Though it's strange some users report lags and others dont... I will try Phoenix and see how it goes...
Edit: Can anyone report how is the gameplay when you tick GPU rendering in development options...?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
as the OP says, it lags "in the animation before each race". Well it's not a huge lag, just this animation is not as smooth as the race itself. And we're used to the absolute smoothness of the Note 2, I'm sure some people comming from an HTC OneX or an old device wouldn't even see a single lag
I just click the screen to skip this animation, it's not important, the race remains smooth whatever how many cars there are.
I'm using ARHD 12.0 and Perseus 33.4 kernel @ 1.6ghz (and that's enough, I don't use 1.8ghz, this game is the only one that kills the battery so fast, and actually the only one to drain more battery than the screen!)
Well I also don't mind those lags but since some people are reporting no lags at all I can't help but wonder what rom/kernel setup they have in order to run the game 100% smooth.....

Game kil*er
It lags on S3 too. In stock 4.1.2 and also in the Resurrection Remix 3.1.4. It lags a bit on iPad 3 (but graphics are awesome) also but not iPad 4(saw in video).
If it doesn't lag in some Note 2s, I'm sure it'll run in S3 too without any doubt.
Questions is though, why does it lag on some Notes and doesnt lag on other Notes... :/ :/ :/
The difference could depend with different roms (mine's stock 4.1.2) or background apps. My Note 2 plays the game lag free everytime, i had an iPhone 5 a couple of days ago and RR3 had an occasional lag..
Blasted my Galaxy Note 2 to your screen with the use of Tapatalk
No lag on emotion rom.n battery friendly for this game

i think Gio's performance is not enough to play games……
Chinese are improving themselves!
Not for the better games like temple run and boss 2, its abit too laggy for those games.
But for hill climb racing its just perfect, though. ;D

Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda app-developers app
use CM7.2 based ROM (currently im using LG themed music edition ROM), they're quite fast for gaming, i can even play agent dash with minimal lag
the other ROM i suggest is AOKP milestone 6 CM9 based. it can run as fast as the previous ROM but needs heavy tweaking (IMHO) but it still buggy (no native wifi tether, no native camcorder)
For me, this two roms are the most good for games. For the test, i've played temple run 2 and i haven't lag on this roms:
[DEV] CyanogenMod 7 | MoltenMotherBoard
ROM][PORT]SGSII JB ROM - Version 10
Tip: Install Chainfire 3D for better playing. Work on SGSII JB ROM, i 've not tried to cyanogen.
But: The game is more smooth on Cyanogen, only this Cyanogen.
