Anyone have the slingbox and having trouble with slingplayer on JB 4.2.1? I get good audio but no video, the video is a frozen frame and never updates. I have 4.2.1 running on my Nexus 7 and my Vz Galaxy Nexus. Slingplayer works fine on my Nexus 7. I have tried several roms and kernels and on my Vz GN the slingplayer will not play video, only audio.
It works fine on my nexus 7 but its not rooted its stock and the sling player app works fine

When my GN was on 4.0 (stock non-rooted), all my 720p movies files played smooth as butter with MX Video Player. But ever since 4.0.2 update (stock non-rooted), all the movies files became extremely choppy, they are like slide shows, but audio is fine in all of them.
I tried both h/w and s/w decoders and results were the same. I even tried other players such as Mobo Player and Playerpro and still the same choppy playbacks.
Anyone else experiencing similar problems?

Hey guys,
Since Jelly Bean, I've been having issues with the stock video player. Whatever video I'm trying to play (and they all play fine usually), it sometimes freeze the whole phone. I have to restart the Nexus and then it plays fine.
I'm running stock 4.1.1 rooted and this never happened with ICS. Now it does that about once a day.
Any idea ?

Okay running codename android 3.8 and when I try to watch anything on hulu I get a streaming unavailable error. Anyone else ?

I do too, just Google the hulu+ with the DRM hack and it'll work. I know its the old one but at least it works. Funny thing is my N7 on the same ROM works just fine with the one from the market.

I can't get 1080p Netflix either. I don't think Netflix is even 720p on my Nexus 7.
When I watch youtube videos at 720p on the Nexus 7, it is very sharp. Netflix looks like upscaled 480p in comparison.
I'm hoping that maybe we will receive a Netflix update today or tomorrow since July 30 is the official release date of the Nexus 7. I can't remember if my Nexus 7 updated Netflix last Friday when I purchased it.
Anyone here rooted and or with a custom ROM able to get Netflix to play at 1080p? Mine won't. Don't know of its because of root, deodex, not stock, slow internet, etc. Anyone able to chime in?

The most I've gotten is 720p, but I've read in the CleanRom thread that Hulu will play 1080p. The problem is either Netflix or your internet speed.

How can you tell if its playing in 720 or 1080 p? I just played the expendables 2 and it looks very good but I don't see where it said what quality.
So here is what I can tell you, you have video quality settings in your account on Netflix. Set that to best, then you have to have a high speed internet, even at that apparently to get HD your ISP has to have signed with Netflix for Netflix to stream it.
I noticed that my Google play movies will not play in HD on anything but the stock ROM. I can be rooted and get HD but not on a custom rom. Cleanrom won't even work. This is weird to me.

Netflix will range from low quality to HD to 1080p(if supported). 1080p on a 7" tab is overkill and much more bandwidth intensive. It would be skipping all over unless you have an almost flawless connection.
