S Pen Holder Kit Tip - Galaxy Note 10.1 Accessories

Is it possible to change the tip on the stylus that comes with the S Pen Holder Kit? I'd like to use one of the black rubber ones that came with the Note 10.1. I tried pulling it out but it doesn't seem come out.

Thanks for the reply but that video is for replacing the tips for the stylus that came with the Note 10.1. My post is regarding the stylus that comes with the s pen holder kit, which is a smaller stylus. Anyone know if it's possible to change that tip?

I've got the same S Pen Holder, it's not for the Note 10.1, it's an add-on for the Galaxy Note N7000 5.3". Don't try to take it apart or else you'll break it, it's a combination of plastics assembled with a special glue.

Unfortunately you cannot change the tips on the holder as they are not interchangeable due to being part of the stylus. The ones that can be changed come with spare tips, even the note 2 does not seem to have interchangeable tips.
I have not based my response on any research other than trying to remove the tips on the older pens.

Hello, i just got my sg note 10.1 and in the manual they show you how to change the tips. So in my opinion they should be able to change the tips. The only thing i dont know is why there are black tips and white tips.

Galaxy Note 10.1 S Pen Holder Kit ET-S110EBEGXAR

Hi all,
I stumbled across this the other day;
http://m.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab-accessories/ET-S110EBEGXAR
The pic seems to be of the smaller n7000 version of the pen holder and seems unclear that it comes with both the holder and active stylus.
I would really like a larger pen. Does anyone have any additional info?

I have this one and would not recommend it. It is the original one they made when they first released the phone version of the Note. Although the pen makes a big difference to using the phones small S-pen, there is a button on the side of the holder that gets pressed unless you hold it a particular way and causes your writing flow to stop.
The way it works is that you place the small S-pen inside this holder which aligns itself with the button and then you just twist the holder into place. It does come with a spare S-pen, the one made for the original Note.
If you want a full sized pen, you should go for any Wacom pen enabled pens that also have the eraser on the end, the eraser works well with S-note and other apps that support the eraser function. It may also be a good idea to order different tips and depending on your preference, use the one that suits your usage patterns.
Do you have a link for one you recommend?

You can have a read through arjag's other thread to get recommendations, I have the one for the Lenovo x61t which works well however I have not yet tried other tips yet which I will do, the original ones,I tend to find are not as smooth as the one fitted on the new S-pen of the Note 10.1.

Thanks for the comments everyone.
I was really hoping that Samsung had actually released a pen holder kit that fitted and came with a n8000 replacement stylus.
As mentioned I my other thread, I am too disappointed in the performance of the Lenovo pen to use it.

Um, how would you write when you are on a call?
How about just using a BT headset as a BT headset and the pen as a pen?
This seems like a gimmick to me with few practical uses.
Hi,
I agree that the bt pen seems to be a gimmick too. After using a dual mic (dsp) headset there is no going back. I am very happy with my Plantronics Voyager Pro.
It really does seem there is no such thing as a "Galaxy Note 10.1" S Pen holder kit and Samsung are just trying to get rid of un sold ones.
I think this is a bit rude of Samsung!
Does anyone know where to get the propper replacement S Pen for the N80xx?
Edit: Scratch that, through samsung's site of course http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab-accessories/ETC-S1G2BEGXAR

s-pen rubber tip broke off

Okay, this is very annoying.
The rubber tip of my s-pen broke off!
I now have to write much more 'vertical' because now the tip of the spen is quite flush with the rest of the pen.
I think I'm going to have to superglue something to the end, it's too blunt now.

plastic isn't going to scratch the screen. Otherwise, all the note 1's users would have been ripping their screens to shreds.
I am pretty sure s-pens are not cheap too. I wonder if I can get a new one under warranty somehow.
I don't even use the s-pen all that much, so I might just live with it.
- Frank
Shouldn't the S-Pen be covered by the same warranty the phone has? This site does say one year warranty: http://samsungfulfillment.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=69

Hrm. Now that you mention it - I never actually took a close look at the tip of the stylus before, so I have no idea if it was ever on there at all.
is it possible to replace the stylus/s-pen tip/nib?
does anyone know where I can get new ones?
mine is showing signs of wear.
I believe with the Note10" it comes with spare tips in the box. My note2 didn't come with spare tips.

The nib for the Note 2 s-pen is not replacable but if you have an s-pen for the Note 10.1 it will work with the Note 2 but will not fit into the Note 2 slot.
i bought one, made in china, less than $10

Help me choose a pen

Hey there,
so I've been using some standard noname pen for some drawing apps along with my S3... but truth is I really hate it.
Its one of those with a pretty thick writing piece, it gives a feeling of not exactly knowing what you draw or what you are tapping onto.
So I was looking for another pen, a pen with a pretty slim tip, giving a more controled experience.
First thing i noticed is that there really aren't alot of those. The ones I've been looking at are made by samsung for their galaxy note and galaxy tab devices.
So here is the question: Are those pens basically compatible with the S3? Who can really give me assurance it will be working?
This is one of the pens I'm talking about: Samsung ETC-S1J9SE
This is the S3 pen with really really bad reviews (I really don't want to buy that one): Samsung ETC-S10CSEG (C pen)
Can someone provide info or suggest another pen?
Thanks in advance!
swent
PS: All I want is basic touch functionality, I know some of these pens have extra buttons or rubber features, I don't care for these extra functions.

Stylus / S-Pen confusion

I'm looking for a full sized stylus without any offset issue and have been following the other thread with interest but no-one yet seems to have found something which ticks all the boxes. I'm also a little confused about a couple of things and would appreciate some help. My Q's are:
Is the S-Pen powered and therefore charged by the tablet? I've got both the original and 2014 Note 10.1's and the stylus from the original works on the 2014 no problem and without offset. The thing is the battery is completely flat on the original as it's not been used for some time yet the stylus still works and I'm pretty sure it can't have any charge left in it so how is it then working?
The driver behind this is that I was looking to get a stylus holder for the 2014 stylus but can't find one so thought I'd get an original stylus/holder to use with the 2014 but the issue being I wouldn't be able to keep it charged as the original note is about to be sold.
I've read that the Surface Pro stylus works on the 2014 without much, if any offset. Looking around I found this stylus...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/2XNo1access...qid=1394362536&sr=1-1&keywords=surface+stylus ...and wondered is anyone had any experience of using one or know whether it would work with the 2014.
Any help guys, very much appreciated.
Edit: I've now found an old wide metal pen which both the original and 2014 styluss fits into, funny thing is when either stylus is placed inside the old pen they don't work on the 2014 screen but when they're taken out they both work fine. Weird, is this because the holder has a metal body?

If a pen you're using has no offset issue on another Samsung Note device but does on your N10.1-14 then something's wrong with your N10.1-14. If the pen included with your N10.1-14 has an offset issue it should have it on all Samsung Note devices. I got a S Pen wet once and it developed an offset issue and I had to replace it so they can be damaged or defective. As for a full-size stylus my favorite is the HM-5100 which is also a BT headset. It's pricey though. It's the one on the bottom.

My current S-Pens don't have any offset, I'm looking for an additional full size stylus that doesn't have any offset issues but it appears most do. Your picture won't enlarge for some reason. Is the third one down one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-E...UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item485ec2b59b ...if it is I'd be interested in knowing if you've noticed any offset issues with it? It uses the original 10.1 stylus right? It's also less than half the cost of the Bluetooth stylus, which is just too expensive.

It's not a holder - it's a stand-alone stylus. I use it for voice commands and quick phone calls as its a true BT headset. It's great as a stylus because it's weighty and feels good against the glass panel. The button's also well placed so it's easier and more natural to use.

The feel of the HM5100 is superb compared to the standard Spen. If it's charged then it doubles as a BT mic/speaker. If it's not charged then it's still the best feeling stylus that I've come across

I love using a stylus with my S2. I think I actually do so more than I used the S-pen on my previous Note devices. I am actually just using one of the type that you described because I found a few lying around. I wouldn't mind upgrading to a more... stylish stylus (heh) but the kind I'm using does work quite well. Let me know if you find a nice one that you like :good:
Personally I just use a cheap and cheerful stylus from the pound shop. Maybe one of the soft rubber ones that you don't want (it's dome-ended and semi-flexible, not pointed) but it works well enough and if it breaks or dents (the body is thin aluminium) then just replace it with a new one. My S2 case has a pen/stylus loop to store it, and for me it's fine.
My kids also use styluses (stylii?) on their tablets (Hudl's) - they have solid novelty ones that look like pencils but again work fine (although are a bit chunky and small for my adult hands).
So after checking out amazon and some local stores, I still have not found the best pointy stylus that I want but one that I can compromise with and some others.
The Adonit Jot Pro really works, but just worried about the plastic that it will eventually scratch enough of the screen.
The cross dual stylus is the one I compromised based on that it has a pen and the slim and firm rubber of the stylus. Can be slippery to use as a pen though.
Bamboo's smart stylus pen, though advertised to work for samsung galaxy devices does not work. I tried it at a local bestbuy.
But you could get the one from Bamboo with carbon fiber tip (not pointy) and that one works.
Maybe buying this in the future to just try Lynktec Apex Fine Point Stylus. It is advertised to work with galaxy tab s2 in the shopandroid website.
Hopefully you guys can find better than I do.
does this tablet have a pressure sensitive digitizer? someone on Reddit said it did...
Hey guys, I just got a pack of styli that I ordered from Amazon this AM and I'm finding them to be pretty nice in addition to a killer deal. I was doing some research on the topic and found a couple that looked good in a Lifehacker article, but checking out the reviews lots of people had some kind of beef with their recs and they were about $15 each. Browsing around Amazon lead me to these: http://www.amazon.com/Bargains-0-18...49936069&sr=1-2&keywords=bargain+depot+stylus which looked like they were worth a shot, so I grabbed a 4-pack for $9, because math.
So they just showed up about an hour ago, and I would definitely recommend them. The stylus itself has a bit of weight to it, so it feels like using a decent pen, and the tip feels like it's just the right size. In addition to a bag of extra tips that you can switch out if necessary, each has a cap also which I thought was a nice touch. So I'm not sure if this is what everyone's looking for, but if you want a comfortable/precise stylus you really can't go wrong here.
Does anyone have any stylus-centric apps that they frequently use? The S2 is my first non-Note device in a while, so I'm used to doing things with an S-pen that a stylus isn't capable of. I just DLed Google Handwriting Input and Squid (nice for marking up PDFs). I use mine just for swiping around a lot because I have a tablet stand that's a little far from my chair, but I'd interested in hearing about any other apps :good:

That's the model I chose. Works well, not too chunky at the tip, and priced right.
Did u end up getting lynteck fine point.
OK, so how do you guys carry the stylus on your tablet? I'm using the Samsung book case because I love the thinness and the way the flaps work. I bought the Large Pen Loop by Arune on Amazon and just don't like the way the stylus just flops around when it's in the loop. I'm thinking of some type of leather or plastic sleeve that can stick on the case and the stylus slides into it.
I thought that a stylus don't work on galaxy's tab s2 9.7 lte alias sm-t 815... yet I See that a metallic thing work as a pen... with a pencil it don't work... this only could work with Wacom displays and a magnetic overflow...I'm confused. ..
im using the 'amazon basic' stylus and it works great with my s2 8.0...
But this is not this what I mean... If u heave headphones so u should try to use the tap with the jack plug as a pen so the spen also should work... I try it tomorrow

You are never going to find a stylus for the Tab that will even approach the tip of the S Pen because the S Pen has nothing to do with the TouchScreen. The S Pen on the Note interacts with an electromagnetic screen placed behind the LCD screen in the Note. Tabs don't have that screen. Instead a stylus for a Tab depends on replacing the "capictance" of your finger with that of the stylus's rubber tip. Can't do that with a tiny tip.
However, if you read further down in this thread, you will find a stylus that does have a much smaller tip than normal. The only problem with them is that the tips must be replace every so often because their special capacitance quality "wears out" with use. Thus the replaceable tips that come with the stylus.

No, because the bluetooth receiver in the Tab would have no way to determine the exact position of the external bluetooth pen.
