Benks Magic Potato Chips Multifunctional and Ultra-thin Lather Case - Galaxy Note 10.1 Accessories

Just ordered this case. (picture below)
http://dx-box.com/benks-magic-potato-chips-multifunctional-and-ultra-thin-lather-case-for-samsung-galaxy-note-10-1-n8000-case.html
After hours of looking, and after ordering the ROCK case, I think this Benks Magic Potato Chip case maybe what fits the equation.
So for others that have similar requirements to me:
Slim
Tri-Fold Stand
S-Pen opening
non-leather looking
non-covering of the device bezel
The ROCK case has all the above EXCEPT S-Pen opening, if I had known that earlier I would have bought Benks first.
Best part is, they are Hong Kong Post, so they ship anywhere

Let us know how it goes! I feel like note 10.1 cases are so few and far in between. Still using my 6 dollar poetic one...but it's just so darn fat and ugly that I think I might get another one.

looks nice. Does it have a magnetic closure? I love this tri-fold idea but nearly all of them just seem to flop open offering no real protection. The ones with the strap aren't to bad but i dont want to be fusing with straps...lol.

Yes, it appears to be magnetic from the descriptions in the images.

I would like one of these types, but this one doesn't seem to have an opening for the connector port, so it looks like you would have to have it open to charge.

Take a look at the attached screen shot. It looks that at the bottom there is no plastic frame.

I looked at the page again and I really dont think theres an opening for a charge port. Bummer!

Benks VS ROCK case
Got it delivered recently.
It looks pretty good! The pictures in the OP are accurate. The outside cover front and back is textured with shallow lines, but it is smooth to touch. The ROCK case is similar, but the material is grippy to the touch. This makes the ROCK case less likely to slide.
As can be seen in the pictures, the front cover is divided into 4 pieces, with the magnet inside the opening piece. The ROCK case is divided into 3 pieces without magnets. I find that the ROCK case cover is less likely to flip open (if for example, the case is held vertically).
The Benks case back cover is hard plastic that surrounds all sides except the top, so it gives more protection. The ROCK case surrounds only the bottom with clips on each corner. So the ROCK case looks more stylish, but less protection.
And yes ROCK case does have a charger hole allowing the tablet to be charged while the case is closed, the Benks does not.
Stylus:
Kind of a deal breaker for me.
The ROCK case has no stylus opening, requiring unclipping of clip at the corner containing the stylus, but the Benks case does.
That's pretty important to me, since it's a Wacom tablet.
So ROCK case is more stylish and grippy, but the Benks case is more practical because of the stylus opening.

I find that the rock case is great for people who bought an additional stylus. I have the one with the eraser and the fact that the case covers the stylus opening does not bother me at all I love it.

Thanks for the info. Very helpful. Glad there is a charge port.

Benks Demagnet Mod
Demagnet Mod:
Purpose:
To remove magnets from the case. This avoids magnetic distortion that causes the Wacom digitizer to register S-Pen inputs incorrectly.
The magnetic distortion is temporary, such that, after lifting the magnetic cover away from the screen, the Wacom tablet performance returns to normal in a couple minutes. But I have no idea if there could be other permanent effects if the magnets were kept in constant proximity for a long time.
Comments:
There are 10 magnets located on the middle of the opening end of the cover. They are sandwiched in the following fashion:
Inner cover fabric layer
glue
transparent plastic
glue
Hard Plastic Magnet Tray - 10 magnets
glue
tin foil
glue
Outer cover fabric layer
Magnet removal:
Recovery
The Benks case is good. Balance between style and functionality. So I think the mod is worth the effort to anyone who is looking for a good case.

This case looks really good and and I would be interested in buying it too, thanks for the review!
But as I use the S pen quite often, I'm a bit concerned by the magnet issue that you raised... Is it really indispensable to remove them?

not really, the only noticeable effects are slightly curved lines in the area of the magnets. This effect disappears after a couple minutes once you remove the cover off the screen.

Before you start reading I would like to mention some key notes about this article.
Buttocks of Kate Upton
Expensive
You can continue now.
The order
Today received my Zenus Case. The “Galaxy S3 Prestige Classic Dual Leather Diary” to be precise. Quicker than I thought. Fourteen days after my order the mailbox was filled with this package. I ordered the case at Zenuscase.net with paypal. Shipment to Holland costs 8 dollars. This case costs 49,99 dollars. This makes a total of 57,99 dollar, a lot for a case.
The package
The package itself was basic, no protective material just a cardboard box with the case in its own package. Although this is very little protection I think it is enough for just a case, even a case this expensive.

The case itself
Quality
The quality of this case is topnotch. Really good stitching, very nice leather and inner materials. The case really feels expensive. Every corner, and every edge is well made.

Fitment
The Galaxy S3 fits good in the Zenus. Very sturdy and impossible to fall out if you flip the case. Why not perfect you ask ? You need to really push the phone into its housing. The lock button is not really centered with the cutout in the case. I think the case needs a bit of time to fit perfect. Don’t get me wrong, it fits really good but it feels like it is not in there for a 100%, more like 95%.
Cutouts
As mentioned above the cutout for the power button is not fully aligned with the button itself. I believe the cutout is 1mm to high. The button is easily accessible, so I don’t see a problem.
There is not an actual cut out for the 3,5mm jack but the standard Samsung headphones fits well. Really thick jacks as Sennheiser uses might not work. I did not test this!
A cutout for the speaker is present and this cutout has been filled with a cloth piece, preventing dust coming into the front speaker.

The rear cutouts for the flasher, speaker and camera are located just fine if you take a little effort to put the phone good in the case’s housing.
The credit card slots are very well clothed and have a very luxury feel. I don’t use money or credit cards within the case but they fit well.

Ergonomically
As a flipcase fanatic I think this case is very easy to hold, type and watch movies as every other case where the cover flips over the same.

Cover closing mechanism
The case closes very easy and snaps in the magnet lock very fast. My only concern is a myth actually, I’m scared the magnet will affect the phone. I hope somebody can scientifically bust this myth.
NFC
This case still allows you to use the NFC feature with the case around the phone, also the magnet doesn’t affect it.

The pro’s and con’s
Pro’s
Very luxury case with a very good finish
Materials used are very nice to touch
Closing mechanism is very, very good
The case holds the phone really well
Cutouts are good, but not perfect
Very classy case
Con’s
Very expensive
Not all cutouts are well located
(The magnet might affect the phone??)
3,5 mm jack not accessible for really thick jacks
The verdict
The case is an average case, The materials and finish are high-end but the cutouts could have been made a bit tidier. Also the case is very expensive. I will use this case as a daily one because I really like how it feels. I hate to have a rubber condom (Read: TPU Cases) around my 600 euro smartphone. Therefore I have chosen this case. Although I’m a bit disappointed with most cutouts it haven’t lost any functionality and the case just feels so nice. Almost like the buttocks off Kate Upton.
Kind Regards,
Thomas Vasse
Nice review. I picked up a Zenus Masstige Color Edge in Royal Navy a couple of days ago and although I like the fact that it feels less stuffy than an all black or brown leather case it does feel like a 95% product.
When you put 3 cards in the slots the front flap bulges significantly and makes the overall product much thicker than you want it to. I was able to test the case by mashing in my temporary One X.
Other than that it's a good enough case that I would recommend only if you are the type that is willing to spend unwarranted amounts of money on phone accessories.
ed. The closing mechanism on the Color Edge is a snap button on the front side of the case vs. magnet on the rear of this case above. My previous case for my Galaxy Tab had a magnet on the front side and I never experience any issues.
could you post a picture of the top end of the phone? so we could see the jack issue? I am interested in getting this case now
Looks good. Is it made of genuine leather?
Its deffo genuine leather, you can smell ut too. I will make a picture of the top later this day.

I had one zenus case for the GS2.
They made very nice cases now for the GS3.
But I don't like the side flip.
The GS2 case was a flip over, and that's better when someone calls you.
I ask the people of zenus if the make the case like the GS2,and they will not:crying:
Now I have the original samsung flip over case,is very nice, but it is not a zenus,
the zenus leather is very nice, after a year the GS2 case still smells leather.
Good luck with your nice case and thanks for the review.
Cheers.
it looks like $ 20 case.
Very strangely. I know Zenus making nice accessories, but this look like a Chinese chip case.
-Magnet will spoil your screen very soon (The screen will lose sensitivity to touch in the area where the magnet)
Best regards.
Thank you for review.
I have also used a case with a magnet latch and never had a problem.

Seems like the issue with the display would only be if the magnetic area was against the screen though, correct ? This case has the magnetic latch on the back of the device.
Also, I saw no Kate Upton bum.

Uhm out of precaution I took the magnet out, de-sowed the lip of the flip. And made a button with the leather from the lip. I glued this in the hole.
This is a very neat case and it looks really classy lying on my desk, out of precaution i made this the way it is now. Still love the case.
In my honesty to XDA I reccomend everyone to NOT buy this case.
Today it fell on the ground and whilst falling it whipped out my s3 damaging the bezel. Nothing more though.
I thought it was sturdy enough to hold the phone but things are otherways.
I honestly regret my purchase now

Packaging:
Nothing special, plastic box shipped inside a plastic bagvelope (bag/envelope) The box it comes in is much easier to open from the bottom than the top, learn from my mistake. No fancy packaging here, the case slides around inside the box a bit. Nothing inside the box but the case...no screen protector, no cleaning cloth, no fancy color brochure showing other products the company makes, nothing. In my opinion, $30 is a steep price to pay for a case so to see the case flopping around in it's box and no extras at all included with the case was kind of a let down.
Fit and finish:
When I first grabbed the case out of the box my very first thought was "oh boy, feels kinda slippery." I got the Garnet Red version, planned on getting the limited edition Gloss White when it becomes available...more on that later. The case is lined with a black felt material on the inside part of the back wall to protect the battery cover from getting scratched during installation/removal, might even add a little shock protection as well. Sliding the case on to the phone one thing I noticed is that the front edges do infact put a little pressure on the sides of the face of the phone, this is notable because those of you who have a wet application screen protector or other full face protection like the Moshi iVisor or any one of the curved full face protectors may have a little problem getting this care to play nicely with it. I think a wet application would be fine so long as it's fully cured before you go putting this case on and as long as you are careful when installing it...making sure it's not pulling up the protector as you go. The case slides on and locks in place to itself thanks to a little tab built in on it's inner wall on the back. Getting it off can be tricky, especially if you have an aftermarket, non-stock battery cover on like I found out. I highly advise not using the case with anything other than the stock battery cover. I had my white carbon fiber cover on which seemingly added no extra bulk but apparently the tiny little bit it did add made it next to impossible to remove the case. I ended up using brute strength to get it apart and luckily avoided causing any damage to it or it's locking mechanism. Putting the stock battery cover on made things much easier. Helpful hint, when trying to remove it, press down on the raised part in the back when squeezing the top part of the case on the sides.
With the case installed I noticed that the fit was so snug that there was no daylight at all between the face of the phone and the edge of the case, a good thing. The cutouts are all spot on but the bottom mic opening wasn't quite centered. There are no overlays over the buttons so they are easily accessible and engaged. Those openings are beveled/tapered to allow unobstructed access to the buttons...no need to tactically attempt to press the buttons, you just press them as you would normally as the case does not get in the way. The color I chose, Garnet Red, has a metallic sheen to it and is very easy on the eyes however it lacks grip. Holding the phone, it's not as bulky as I thought it would be, but it's not as easy to hold on to either. The finish is very slippery so make sure you have a firm grip on it. This is the first case I've had on this phone that requires you to stick your pinky out while you're holding the phone to ensure it doesn't slide down. Very disappointed. The design of the case does provide a front side lip, allowing you to set the phone face down with no worry of causing damage to the screen.
Final thought:
While the case looks nice, fits like a glove and allows easy access to all ports and buttons, it is very slippery to hold and can be a problem depending on what type of screen protector you're using. The locking mechanism is a nice touch but be aware if using an aftermarket, non-stock battery cover as it can make the case nearly impossible to remove. Am I going to order the limited edition Gloss White when it comes out? It'll surely have better grip but i'm not that in love with this case to say for sure.
I have the Seidio surface in blue and I do not find the case to be slippery it has a lot more grip than the stock battery door. The finish is a soft touch finish that does not show fingerprints.
Here are some photos and I have a full review up to.
from my AOKP galaxy s3
Grip is not a strong point of this case by any stretch of the imagination. It's coming off as soon as my TPU bumper arrives. The finish on this case is pretty much identical to that on the Incipio Silicrylic Dual Pro, the difference being the silicone sleeve which gives you the good grip. I like everything about this case except for the lack of grip and how it limits what screen protectors you can use with it.

Just trying to find "the one". The SGP Neo Hybrid is on my radar. Not really sure there's any others I really want to try out right now.
I have the platinum series which is pretty much this case with the holster. I have had it for my past three phones but am on the by bubble with this one. I have to agree that this case is more slippery then I remember my past cases to be. Because of that (and the fact that I dropped my OG Evo with his case on and the Efren shattered ) I am looking for another case. Thinking of getting an otterbox. Need something with good screen protection and a holster.
Does nfc work?

Yes sir
Alright guys, today was my first day out in the wild with this case and I have discovered something......moist hands = good grip with this case! Normally my hands are dry, no sweaty palms for me....but its pretty warm out today and I wear nitrile gloves alot during the day which cause my hands to sweat badly. So after removing my gloves and patting them dry I picked up my phone to take a few pics and I noticed it wasnt sliding in my hand. Figuring it was the moist hand I was holding it with I turned on the AC to dry my hand completely and sure enough, the slipperyness was back.
So those of you with sweaty palms, this is your case!

GS3 Storm Trooper Style

It's a combo of the white plastic bumper case you see floating around on the web and the OEM white flip cover.

I chose a pebble blue GS3 over the white because I actually don't like the way the white GS3 looks on the front when the screen is off (due to the contrast of the black screen to the white frame). But with this combo, there's very little bulk, great protection, decent grip and I got that Storm Trooper look!
I don't use the flip cover all the time as it does become annoying when you have to use the phone a lot or especially when taking pictures. I did get an extra white battery back which makes it nice to just have the white back and bumper (just imagine it without the white front).
Quite impressive! Never thought about doing something like this. Can you post a pic of the setup without the flap?
Thanks.
i really like this look, i saw the genuine samsung flip cover on it, could you put a link to the bumper?
Also i probably wouldnt want the flipcover on there all the time. i had an idea, to cut off the flip cover so i could reattach it when ever i put it in my pocket. how do you think that would work out?
You should put two small slits on that bumper at the edge of the flip.
The original bumpers I ordered
The aluminum bumper I'm waiting on
Pictures of the aluminum bumper as requested. I don't like it as much as the TPU and rubber bumper because it adds significantly to the overall size of the phone. REALLY feels big i my hand now. As you can see the ports and buttons are now set so deep from the bumper exterior that certain cables just don't reach and it's now difficult to press power/volume. Aluminum FEELS awesome, though. Will continue to look for a bumper that's thinner profile and metal feel like this one. Protection is exceptional due to thickness. I actually dropped my phone from about 5' in our server room today onto a tiled floor. No damage to the phone and just wiped a smudge off the bumper.
The neodymium magnets I ordered to try to see if I can make the front cover detachable
These magnets are small enough where I might be able to insert them into/under the front cover and attach to (inside?) the bumper. I'm not too worried about the cover falling off as if you put enough of these in the right place, they're pretty hard to pull apart - I'm actually more worried that the magnets would make the flip come apart in time if I insert them inside the flip. Too bad I can't find a stainless steel bumper as aluminum isn't magnetic. If anyone has seen one, please link me to it.
That looks awesome.
How do you feel about the rubber bumpers? They look pretty cool. Do the side buttons lose any responsiveness?
Might have to get myself one of those
Please let us know how that white aluminum bumper works out for you... I think I might need one.

thanks. rubber bumpers are cool because they give the grip that's missing when the rest of it is glossy and smooth, so it's a nice contrast not just in terms of color but texture. Because of the side buttons being under the rubber part, they work well - maybe I accidentally trigger volume/power a lot less than i used to without. Responsive as needed w/o being hyper sensitive to touch.
on another note, another reason i wanted to do just the back and the bumper is I wanted to do the palm pre/touchstone hack for inductive charging. With this setup the little lump caused by squeezing the Palm Pre inductive coils into the back battery cover is lessened by the bumper so it lays flat on the table. Other people who just have the back and maybe a TPU case over it have this wobbly situation because it's not flat. This bumper alleviates that. Charges well through the battery back on the Touchstone while still feeling like it's protected due to the bumper.
This is awesome man! Can you make a YouTube vid? Please!

Nice - If i used a full case I'd throw a kickstand version on instead of just a regular case - might as well go all out if you're adding the extra thickness.
That's the only thing I'm missing on mine - thinking of adding an insert that stows away on the back and when you pull it out and stick it back in the top of the bumper becomes a kickstand.
There's actually a pretty cool kickstand case I got for one of my users that has a kickstand, but not sure the Palm wireless charging mod would work with it. I love the wireless charger, though and that's why i used a bumper.
in case anyone missed, i added pictures of the new aluminum bumper in post #5.

Trident Aegis case review with lots of pictures!

As promised, here is my review of Trident Aegis case I just received - http://www.tridentcase.com/shop-products/aegis-case-samsung-galaxy-note-2-n7100.aspx
I usually start with a package, but in this case I want to start with a shipping box itself. Today every company is trying to distinguish themselves with some unique detail to set them apart. Typically you get your case package inside of bubble envelope, but in this case it came in a cartoon box with a really cool art That's my first picture below, I thought that detail was very unique. Package itself is very nice, typical of a premium case which sets it apart from cheap ebay stuff. In addition to the case, it also included a little guide with other Trident products and a nice screen protector/application card/cleaning cloth. I already have screen protector, so didn't bother with the one included, but it felt thicker than usual cheap stuff and also had dotted alignment lines on a cover film - a thoughtful touch. Website talks about included charm attachment - I didn't see it in my package, but the case has two small holes by micro-usb connector for something like lanyard attachment, captured in the picture as well.
The case itself is a single piece molded PC and TPE material. PC is very flexible, a lot more flexible than any of my other cases. TPE in comparison to a typical TPU is more elastic, thus last "E" stands for elastomer and feels softer and more rubbery. The plastic on the back is matte and not as slippery, kind of with lightly sandblasted finish, yet it has two shiny stripes along the sides. The case is very rounded off on the back, making it very easy to hold and giving it a nice grip. The whole combination of PC and rubber material, rounded design, and combination of two plastic finishes makes it very ergonomic to hold in your hand. I do want to mention that back is not flat so when you put it down on the flat surface there will be some wobble.if you like typing on a phone in that position. Trident symbol design in the middle also gives additional friction grip with a surface.
Inside of the case you will find elastic rubber lining all the way around with a honeycomb pattern and black "stitches" which indicate where rubber is molded to external PC shell. Definitely will serve as a good shock absorption if dropped. When you look at the picture of the case without a phone, you see its a little bent because of the flex of PC material. But once you insert the phone in the case, very nice tight fit, it straightens out and gives a phone nice slim profile. There is no doubt the case will stay on if dropped.
Headphone and micro-usb ports are covered, although I'm not too crazy about a little tab on the port cover, and also in my case I couldn't even close micro-usb port. I use my phone daily as GPS powered in the car, and usb port cover is just nuisance to constantly open/close. In this design, you can easily cut out port cover if you don't like it. I also thought mic port opening right next to micro-usb port was very small, and that could create an echo effect, but I couldn't confirm it yet since I haven't made any calls with this case one. The mic port next to headphone is a little bit wider, and I would have expected the same for the mic port at the bottom. No issues with s-pen and camera/led flash opening, also I wish there would have been a little more corner protection around lip next to s-pen. I really like the detail of dust filter mesh protecting speaker cover. That is very unique. Also, power/volume buttons are very responsive and you can feel the click - definitely a good design which I like. On the front, lip is a bit on a shallow side, but still gives a decent protection and should not be a problem when you put the phone down on the screen side. I also do have to mention that lip pulls quite easily around volume and micro-usb ports. There is also some pull of lip next to headphone, s-pen, and power button. Those are the areas where you have more elastic rubber material than PC support on the back. I don't believe it will compromise the protection offered by this case.
The case itself is offered in variety of different colors to suite both guys and girls. For my review I chose a blue one since I thought it will fit white phone the best and also offers better view of details on the back to contrast with black PC portion of it.
Ok, here comes the pictures!

Very nice!
Great pictures; I've always thought that a company should include pictures from its users to show off.

Well, you know I'm not doing this for a benefit of the company, but for the benefit of XDA-Developers forum users Company pictures usually have a few shots without much of the details. I'm the user who looks at it from a different perspective and know what we all are looking for in the case. So, I'm glad you guys can benefit from that and enjoy my write ups. I also try to be fair with my reviews, pointing both positive and negative sides. I personally don't believe there is such thing as a perfect case because we all have different expectations. I kind of hate when people just write one liners, I hate this case or it's the best without reasoning. That's why I'm trying to be as detailed as possible in my review, and whatever is missing in writing I compensate with pictures
If I get around, I might also start YT channel with short (under 5min) video reviews of every case I got. But it might take a little while.
I am kind of jealous of the speaker mesh cover... I hate dust.
Great review, thanks!
I had the chance to try this case out today at the Verizon store. It was nice and felt very sturdy. The only thing that seemed as if it could be a problem was that the flaps that covered the ports felt cheap and if I used them enough wouldn't close. Otherwise this felt like a decent case.
On a personal note however, I didn't like the design on the back.
Is there any type of holster available so I could put it on my belt?

Has yours started to blacken on the blue areas? I also have a blue version of this case and around edges where it rubs against things the blue is starting to turn black. I can't get it to clean back to blue either so im assuming it's not dirty.

Black is the best color imo
Glad someone is putting a review out there, not many ppl even mention it despite being an awesome case
I have one of these in black. I like it better then my Otterbox as it is MUCH slimmer.
I have this one along with the Commuter and the UAG. So far the Aegis is leading the pack slightly ahead of the UAG with the Commuter a distant third. I like everything about the Aegis except how the USB port cover is designed as it is too easily pulled out and sometimes awkward to get put back in properly.

I just cut it off so it would fit in the Smart Dock
I am considering getting some type of kickstand thing but not 100%, might just get a mini stand

Does the lip peel off when taking it out of jeans pocket? Does the TPE stick or rub against cloth the same way rubber does?
Thanks

Generic PU Leather flip case review w/pics!!!

When the price of the case is $5.74 shipped, you don't have high expectations for it So I figured to give it a shot. With an exception of original Samsung flip case (with battery cover back attachment), I don't have any other flip cases. This one looked different with a brown PU leather texture and a black inner casing holder. I got this case from HERE. Why from this place and not ebay? It's a similar case you can find on ebay, although I haven't seen anywhere light brown color like this, AND this one actually came straight from US warehouse (was shipped from NJ) and got here in a few days. Don't have to wait 3-4 wks for a package from HK.
So, more about the case. The package it came in says "anti-bacterial" and "99.9%". I guess just a bonus. The first surprise is that on Tmart website where it's listed it has white felt lining on the flap cover and inside of the case holder. The one I received had black felt lining, which is another bonus since it will not show dirt. This felt lining is perfect not to scratch the screen and also not to scratch the battery door of the phone once phone is inserted. It actually latches in very securely and will need some force to unlatch it. No worries about falling out of the case. And the plastic itself feels very sturdy. Yes, the flip cover attaches with a magnet but its a very thin magnet on the side of the case and it does NOT interfere with phone/s-pen. I was using s-pen, drawing right along the edge where magnet is and found no issues. I took more close up pictures of it, actually a very clever design.
All port openings are perfectly aligned, and you get access to s-pen (although thumb will not fit there, will need to use index finger for that opening), micro-usb, headphones, and also a cutout for power button. Volume buttons accessible once you flip the case open. Also, speakers, mics, and camera/flash openings all perfect. Furthermore, case opens up and props the phone in a landscape position with adjustable angles since felt lining prevents it from sliding. I would even go as far as saying that it will offer a level of drop protection since inner plastic case holds phone securely and offers corner protection, while flip cover stays attached with a magnet covering the screen if you drop it.
Can't comment on longevity and wear of material, but heck, for $5 plus change it's way more than I expected. Also, I think it comes in different covers as well.

I have the same case but with a different texture design it was called the matrix dolce, it's a decent case (it's what I'm using now) the kickstand grip is pretty good due to the build material, I just wish the plastic would cover more of the phones surface

I know what you mean, like wrapping around top and bottom more. But overall I think its pretty damn good for $5 shipped, and it actually doesn't add too much bulk. I would even go as far as saying it's kind of classy looking to carry it when you go out to eat to some fancy place. The trade off is that you don't have any card/money slots, but that's also positive since it keeps it slim.
How long have you had this case? Just wondering how well is it holding up together. Also, since I haven't used flip case before, I assume I can be talking on the phone with a flip cover closed (thus proximity sensor covered)?
When the case is flipped open, is the magnet holding it in place, or do you have to hold it back with your hand?

You have to hold it open, which is not a problem since it folds back flat. I think it's actually to an advantage because if they would have a bigger/stronger magnet to hold the flap on both sides - that would introduce interference of s-pen with a magnet, etc. And those cases with a buckle or whatever to hold the flap closed make it bulky on the top surface of the flap so when you flip it back it's bulging out.

I've been using it for almost 2 months, it is holding up pretty good, I got mines for about 7 bucks. I do outdoor farming work handling ginger in Hawaii I've dropped the phone a few times and the case holds up pretty well nothing has been tearing or degrade nor has the phone been damaged in any way (surprisingly lol)
I haven't tried talking on the phone with the cover closed I usually have it folding back and the phone on speaker every time I answer/make a call.
I do recommend if it's your daily driver to use the app Proximity Screen Off to preserve your power button and use it like a flip phone of sorts so it works pretty good; though the sensor up top kind of has a hard time detecting the case being closed sometimes so it can auto turn off the screen.
I'm still trying to find another case that provides more coverage on the top and bottom but just enough as this case so if you happen to find one with that criteria please let me know! :good:
