Is there any way to increase in-call volume? - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

I can't listen clearly what people say when i'm in busy street. So, is there any way to increase the in-call volume?

If you already turn it at the highest, then nothing you can do.
In busy street, it is quite normal that you can not hear it properly. too bad.

Are we assuming that in call you have actually pressed the camera zoom buttons to turn the volume up?

[Q] call volume increase

I have noticed that the call volume is way too low on my t-Mobile galaxy s2. If I use google voice to call it seems a little better but still quiet. Is there any way to increase the volume? The *#*#197328640#*#* method does not work. There are no options in the sounds section. They all say "menu not exist."
Is there a way to increase call volume?
Go into settings>call and check hearing aid compatibilty. See if that helps

Ahh yes, that did help a little. Thank you!
However, it is still way too quiet to hear when there is any background noise
Will it be possible to increase the sound once the phone can be rooted?
Im sure that all things of that nature will be addressed. I do have to say though that my earpiece is plenty loud enough so maybe yours is just gonna be quiet. Idk

Weird this is one of the clearest, loudest phones I've ever had
I'd ask to test a demo unit in store and make sure your phone isn't defective.

I'd agree with the sound being loud. Its pretty loud for me and I'm thinking you should try another one.

In call volume too LOUD

Talking on the phone practically makes my ears bleed it is so LOUD. Does anyone know of an app that allows you to lower the volume beyond what the normal settings allow for? Is there any other way to accomplish this task? Voodoo sound doesnt seem to make any difference on call volume, even when I am using headphones on the call. Thanks!

I think that controls the mic gain, not the earpiece.

I have always been able to adjust the call volume via the side volume controls, when in a call
Ie: when on a call, turn the volume down the same way you would the ringer using the side buttons, and instead of seeing the media volume change, you should see incall volume adjusted

Yeah I do that but even at the lowest setting it is obnoxiously loud.

maybe your ears are just overly sensitive or something is messed up on your phone, rom, kernel, something... wipe and fresh flash see if your problem persists. I can turn the volume down below my level of hearing, but I also have slightly damaged ears from too much gun-play without hearing protection.
I would love to know why its loud.....cause i want to make mine louder....i think im going deaf

Switching to CM7 seems to have fixed the issue somewhat though the volume controls in call are a bit eratic now. I am pretty sure it was rom related as it happened to me on 2 of marcusant's roms. Maybe he likes loud calls lol.

Try the volume+ app in the market. He has free and paid versions but you can get the paid verszion for free on his website.

I believe the fix that worked for me was to disable hifi record in the voodoo control settings. Hope this helps!
Record settings in voodoo seem only to control mic gain (or mic loss, when I enable them no one can hear me! ). My earpiece is also obnoxiously loud in calls- on every GB rom I have tried. I would definitely like a fix for this.
No amount of wiping and flashing between multiple GB roms has ever fixed this.

disabling the Voodoo hi-fi play and record settings definitely fixed the loud call audio problem for me in gingerbread on the epic, sorry it's not working for you.

[Q] any way to increase volume?

Anyone know a way to increase system volume? It's too low even at full volume. I can't hear calls or text messages.

In call volume

Am I the only one with this problem? The in-call volume level is maxed out, but is barely audible. I'd go as far to say it's worse than when the X10 came out with 1.6 Donut on it. Why can't Sony ever get a good loud volume level from launch? I've got xLoud enabled, otherwise I can't hear it at all. Does any one know of any apps that may help make this issue manageable for my Ion? I'm on ICS LT28h, just biding my time until the eventual release of the Xperia T on AT&T, which has been listed to have a 30% louder volume in call max than the Xperia S, so here's to hoping.

Same problem on my Ion and Xperia S.
I don't have a problem with in all volume but the speaker volume is rather dismal.
I can confirm that volume +(volume boost) paid-(free if you sign up for developer's forum) can fix speaker volume, but not in call volume issue.
Same for me
I think that this is a software related problem
reason:
-------------------
when i use groove Ip (VOIP) i once set my caller volume to max (BAD IDEA)
and my ear almost burst open. So it could be changed through the software.

Well, I can assure you it's a software problem, as any speaker can be adjusted to the volume where it'll immediately blow when you set it that high. The software is what limits it so as not to be able to go that far.
Just found out. You can turn on the Hearing Aids in Calling Settings. Im using Rogers stock GB rom. You will see the Ear with a T icon shown on top.

Not available in my Lt28h ics
~Jaramie
From my XPERIA ION LT28at, rooted, customised & eating an Ice Cream Sandwich
Shouldn't there be a file to change the max volume output with a file/text editor? Just like the notifacation LED?
Also the hearing impaired setting in ics should be in the accessibility settings no?

Is there a specific method for increasing volume output on the lt28h? Definitely need it for my work environment. Any tips appreciated.
With the latest ics *few months old * and deodexed with cwm and rooted I have equalizer installed and use that for my sound enhancements instead of stock app. My in call volume seems louder

Is there any way to boost the headphone and speaker volume without a custom kernel?

Is it possible? I find the Stock kernel to be most stable and fast, but the low audio output on headphone especially for some formats forced me to use some custom kernels. But I ultimately came back to stock kernel today. So is there any way to boost the headphone and speaker volume without the help of a custom kernel? Any app or anything? I'd really like to have one!
I can always change the gain.dB file but it's needless to say it's a weird process in middle is something, especially while you're watching a movie or something. So that slider is needed, preferably in an app, so that it could be changed on the fly. Should've the range from 55-63 dB for speaker and 50-63 dB for headphones and all.
Thanks in advance.

How could you increase the speakerphone volume with it mate? If I enable speaker then the speaker volume increases indeed, but only when I'm playing a movie or music, but the ringtone volume is unchanged at any settings! Is that how it works?

Yeah thanks pal, but I really didn't wanna go the custom kernel way.
So this mod won't work for increased ringtone volume? I don't know, but even the lock screen sliding effect sound is boosted a lot but why not the ringtone!

For past three or so months I've disabled that thingy, actually I haven't, I think ARHD comes with it being disabled by default. That's why when I enabled it in Xposed didn't notice any difference.
