Syncing contact images with Facebook - Nexus 4 Themes and Apps

Which software do you guys use for syncing contact images to facebook? I haven't tried any yet, but I've heard the stock FB app has some problems. Last time I used it (on my ancient Optimus One), it used to sync very low res pics, and it was impossible to reassign images in case of wrong matches.
PS: Also, as a side question, which facebook app do you use?

I use HaxSync. Don't know if there is a better solution, but it worked well for both my N4 and N7.

just use Conctact-sync it is completely free and works perfect with high resolution images

I quite like Sync.Me

I've been using Haxsync, but it doesn't update properly. Have you guys noticed this at all? When a person changes their picture on facebook I have to manually go into the settings and refresh their image to update it. I've got my phone setup to sync everyday and also on mobile network not only wifi, but this hasn't made any difference. I get the same issue on my Nexus 7.

I personally use haxsync but a friend uses sync.me and both do the job

Set it always re download image. That will make it update...at least it did for me.

That only works on the next sync, then the option un-checks itself.

I use friendcast and it works well.. anyone else tried it ?

Okay, I tried HaxSync and Sync.Me
I just can't figure out HaxSync, it doesn't seem to work. It keeps crashing. Seems like a waste of my money.
And Sync.Me seemed just what I wanted, BUT it doesn't put contact pics of some of my contacts for some reason. I can't figure out why. If I remove the link and re link the contact to the same Facebook contact, then I get the pic. Weird bug.
Is there any 3rd decent app for this purpose?

You need to install the haxsync jb fix app once, then open main app bro. Then read the FAQ. I tried other apps like sync.me those are whack they don't update most of my friend's pics and has no manual update option. Haxsync worked perfectly after syncmypix stopped working. The only good alternative is haxsync.

then again.. friendcaster worked perfectly fine for me as well.

I use HaxSync. It works incredibly well.

After trying the suggestions here (and not working) i started looking for myself and found Facebook Contact Picture Sync on the play store which does everything i need and is also really simple at the same time.

Contact sync https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEsInJvLndlZWRuZXQuY29udGFjdHNzeW5jIl0. has always worked perfectly for me and of course is free.

HaxSync is AWESOME

I was reading some comments over at Rootwiz and discovered an app from the Android market called HaxSync.
It sync's your facebook contacts with the Contact list on your phone. It also provides pictures next to your contacts along with status updates like what Google+ does.
Its friggin awesome I can finally sync facebook to the phone properly.
Please dont flame me if this is common knowledge, just thought I would share it with people that didnt know. And of course, some custom Roms include FB sync but this does not require root.
Yep. can only confirm that. I do not want to use a custom rom and this app syncs my facbook contacts pretty well.
I worked great for me too but the battery usage made it impossible to keep, was using 20% of my battery a day!

They fixed that problem with an update. It now only does that the first time you sync and only periodically checks for updates. Mine doesn't even register anymore.
it also uses higher quality photos. I synced it then turned auto sync off. Just manually sync it now every now and again.

Does it come with an option that allows you set how often it checks for updates?
Paid version only, boo. I pay for plenty of things, but not facebook contact sync.

I don't know about whatever rom you are on, but AOKP syncs fairly low resolution Facebook pictures. HaxSync synced nice, high-res pictures but as with another person here, the battery draw was undesirable so I just stuck with the rom's sync. I might start using it again if it has really gotten better about eating a battery up though.
1 euro well spent. Excellent. A little contact joining where the names are widely different in Facebook, Twitter and Google Contacts and all is done, now with great pictures!
Solidly recommended.

It also allows you to sync only over WIFI, if data is a problem for you.
I'm not sure how well mine is working, because some contacts are sync'd to facebook, others are sync'd to HaxSync. Some contacts have high res images, others are extremely blurry.
HaxSync is supposed to have facial recognition to center the pic around the face.....but I don't find that that works for me.
Does it for anybody else? Overall, I really like it

Its appears to be working for me. One of my contacts has a headshot as her profile pic. The Facebook thumbnail is the one she chooses, which is centered properly. The Haxsync one is centered on her eyes, which cuts off the rest of her face.
Not much I can do about that, I guess. People should have better facebook pictures.
Agree. It's awesome.
Nice. I'll check this out.
Awesome. None of the ROMs with Facebook sync would sync the photos for me. This is working flawlessly.

Haxsync is nice, I just wonder how we could backup the manual contact link when moving to a new rom though.

some contacts missing facebook photos

All has been working fine on my EVO4G running MIKG 3.1 until tonight... I looked at the phone and it said it found some contact links. they looked like ones I had already linked but I linked them again. Now, some of the contacts (ones that need to be relinked), show a blank facebook contact photo. Just the generic silhouette of the face. I unlinked and re-linked and re-sync'd the contacts.. nothing.. some are fine and show the contact photo with the facebook symbol. I checked on my PC to see if maybe the person removed their photo, but it is there.
Any ideas????
Anyone? I just tried syncing using Facebook app. Same issue. some contracts pulled photos and others not. Ideas?

Hey,
in order to get your contact photos to sync you need to use htc sense the app wont do anything man, and if that doesnt work it might be a glitch so try wiping your cache dalvik and flashing the rom again. let me know if it works, but that just might be a bug between your evo and the rom bro,

The MUST HAVE app for Android 4.0

Since we have today our fully working ICS rom, I would like to share this app
HaxSync
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mots.haxsync
It's sync your facebook contacts (Pictures and status updates) with your phone contacts in the same way ICS sync your contacts with google plus (High res contact pictures)
The app it's only 99 cents and IMO it's totally worth it.
BTW: I hold no relationship with the developer of this app, im just a happy customer.
Try it you wont regret.

no, it's built into the official facebook app. I guess that app is included in the skyrocket port. you have to go into facebook settings and choose SYNC.
That said, it looks like my contacts (i use Go Contacts) defaults to sync with google+ before it uses facebook for photos.

Yeah man just go on to the development forums and it should be on the first page. You could also search for it. Instructions are all there. There are a couple of bugs, most notably the auto rotation doesn't work. But other than that it works perfectly for most, including me I would suggest reading the entire thread to gain a little insight into what has been going on and to be a little safer with the installation and all that.... GOOD LUCK!!
When I had my Galaxy Nexus back in December I know there was no Facebook sync available for ICS at the time, I don't know if they've updated it back then.
But you can use Friencaster to sync all your contacts and pictures.
This reminds me though, has anyone else noticed there's no People app? Is that a Nexus only app or just missing?

I have a question, Facebook from the sky rocket ICS port won't let me access the pull down notifications. What I mean is, I'll get a notification, open the pull down in the app, and it shows me what's new but I can't touch it to access it, it does absolutely nothing.
Anyone know of a better app for Facebook?

VVM, go to the apps sub forum and get the latest version. No redrawing in that version and you can scroll to your heart's content. (read posts 15 & 20 in the thread)

Sony Gallery App sucks

At least for me. I loved being able to snap a pic with my big camera, have the EyeFi upload it and sync it to Picasa, and have the picture in my JB stock gallery on the Nexus 4 automatically. The Sony Gallery will pull the Picasa images, but I have to manually tell it to refresh and it takes a LONG time.
Once the image is downloaded I can't share it from there, I have to download it and then go look for it and share it. It also downloads a small version of the image.
I was able to install the stock JB Gallery app but I was missing the components to sync Picasa. Still need to work on fixing that. Anyone use something that would make things better?
I don't know if this will help because it probably is quite obvious to you already, but have you tried using quickpic?

Oh that's not the way it's supposed to look? Haha. I had never used Quick Pic. It looks pretty good, but it doesn't have Picasa integration, so it doesn't add much value here.
I did find that I can pull the Picasa pictures more easily with Google +, but I still have to download them and then share them. It only shares to Google +. At least the resolution of the downloaded images is much better than what the Sony app gets and the pics are already synced when I open the app.
It looks like the Sony gallery does not use the Android sync service and pulls its own version of the images.

They want all of your Photos not only the ones you choose, I mean in case you want to use the sync option, which is (would be) a nice feature.
Would be very easy, I think, to add options like "Folders to sync"...."Folders to show"....and something like that, that makes the User the Owner of the Stuff
But these are Questions like, why we don't get an option to fully Access our Phones "Root" by Clickin......is all about the Money they make by Advertising "non Know Users" and so on....FTI.
We are all buying industrial Money making Machines for a lot of Bucks....because we love Tech!
