cm10 mms with theme engine and quick reply - Nexus 4 Themes and Apps

Ive been running the cm10 MMS with theme engine and quick reply where you can change almost every aspect of the MMS apk. You can change different color of text for sent/recv, different bubble style, change background, etc. The only problem is it would force close when sending a picture mms.
I extracted the CM10 mms apk from justunbean inverted final 4.1.2 package to test out on the nexus 4 and its been running very well besides the mentioned issue with sending a picture.
has anyone else tried this? just want to know if anyone know what else needs to be done to have picture send successfully.

I'm having the same issue after flashing the cm 10 mod with aroma and dont think i can receive any either
edit: it only force closes when the mms black is selected i reflashed to the mms white and it works any idea why...I would rather use the black mms

Can you guys point me to where you are getting the apk/zip for this.
EDIT: I think I found the cm10 mms themable apk, but how would I go about theming it, is there a template theme that I can use and replace the bubble image?

this is what i used it is the best way you just flash the zip and select your options in aroma then wipe cache/dalvic and reboot
however i still would like to know why mms force closes when its in the black mms if anyone has any work arounds for this that would be great

[REQ] 2.1 style messaging app for 2.2

So running the beta and all is great. However they decided to include the fascinate style mms.apk. I personally find the "bubble" messaging to be aweful.
Anyone that could port the 2.1 styled mms.apk to 2.2 ?

I 100% agree. I am not digging this new style at all.
Glad someone agrees with me. It looks so childish in my opinion.

Absolutely. You can take the mms.apk out of the froyo zip and put in the original one if you want, that works.

I didn't try putting it in the zip and flashing. But when I removed mms.apk and cleared dalvik/cache then pushed the Mms.apk from 2.1; however it force closed on tapping on any message/settings, etc. It did open though
Have you done this thomas? If so can you provide the Mms.apk you used?

I haven't actually done it myself, but I don't see why it wouldn't work to put it in the system/app folder of the .zip. pushing is bound to cause fc errors. Try flashing the attached .zip, it won't touch anything other than replacing the mms.apk with the 2.1 version.

Giving it a try now. Will edit with results.
And thank you Thomas. I really should get around to learning how to make flashables lol. Is there a tutorial somewhere?
EDIT:
As before. The Subtext on the Messages/Compose new message turns the orange color, but tapping ANY of them causes a FC. It must be a problem with the TW3 framework vs. the old 2.5 crap.

Here is one that works. I Kanged it from CM6. Flash through clockwork. And YES you can change the background to black. Change it in the MMS settings
http://www.4shared.com/file/QW0Hs2rE/AOSP_FROYO_Mms.html
For those of you who want the AOSP MMS app then push this file to /system/app and you should have stock style CM6 MMS with the MMS notification in the TW lockscreen. This MMS apk is from CM6 modified to work with TW lockscreen from this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829273

[APK] Black themed mms.apk CM7 version

Here is a black themed mms.apk! its CM7 stock version! I cant take credit for this....big thanks to Avetny over at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1047646
Just replace the mms.apk with the one in your system/app folder! Use root explorer or something, and then change permissions! for some reason it took me a couple reboots to get it to work but it works!
Especially works good with the blurry mms issues people have been having on Juggernaut!
Here is a screenshot
So this is aosp like right? Whats the sms icon for notifications

Yup...and here ya go....its essentially just a black version
I'm having trouble getting this to work. I tried changing permissions and fixing permissions in CWM recovery, but even after a handful of reboots it just FCs when I try to launch the mms app. Any ideas?
Edit: Never mind. I figured out my problem.
Thanks for this.

AOKP Market Themes not working

Anyone having issues with aokp and themes from the market? The statusbar and menues always get themed, but not the icons for mms, contacts, phone, browser, etc.
Any idea why ? The photos from the themes I try to install all show themed icons but this never seems to happen.
Thanks

I am having pretty much the same issues as the OP. However, rebooting as you suggested worked on some themes. But on most it did not. I did notice a warning popup window when applying some themes.
Perhaps some AOKP/CM9 themes are not compatible with our S2 variant?

Ill give it a shot. Didnt think to reboot.
What theme are you using where the icons also get themed? Maybe Ill DL that one to test this out.

I've noticed that some themes change the icons after a reboot and some dont. The holo series themes never change the icons for me, I end up downloading an icon back and doing them manually. All of the themes by hoolm like freehand and circles mod always change the icons.

[MMS Theme][CM9-AOKP]Mixer Transparent SMS/MMS with Animation [7/12/12]

Well one of the things I hate most is the ugly white in the MMS.apk..Of all the silly options like weather in pulldown etc thats included in CM9/AOKP I was hoping we could at least get a black background option but I guess its more important to see what temp it is outside or to toggle your swagger on/off.
So if you're tired of the ugly white MMS.apk thats clearly neglected then I have the mod for you. This is a transparent modded MMS.apk that is build off travp624's new Mms.apk which combines the best of cm9 and AOKP.
I hope you enjoy this..Just flash the zip in recovery or manually push the apk.
Thanks Section
killabyte at Rootzwiki for his guide because without it I wouldn't have been able to do it.
travp624 at rootzwiki for his new MMS base to use..He did a great job of combinging the best options of cm9 and AOKP.

technically everything works fantastic- it just looked a little odd in conjunction with my wallpaper since it has text on it, and because i'm running my own theme with your mms installed over it. I usually use @android:style/Theme.Holo for inverting MMS. Love the attention to detail- really great!

@android:style/Theme.Holo wont give me transparent though right?
It will if you go into conversation_list_item.xml and conversation_list_screen.xml and set the background to transparent at the topmost linear layout. You'll also have to edit the message_send and receive xmls in /layout to set the same transparency. Here's an example of one i made for my theme using theme.holo:

Inverted T-Mobile Deodexed MI7 TouchWiz Apks

Inverted TouchWiz Apks For T-Mobile Stock Deodexed MI7
I thought I'd make these fully inverted stock themed apks (somewhat stock themed anyway)
for those that would prefer not to use a theme, but would like to use their dark counterparts.
Warning!
These are just stock deodexed MI7 apks with no additional mods included.
If your current apks are modded in anyway, those mods will need to be re-added to these apks.
How to
Download zip to your phone
Reboot into custom recovery
Make a backup or at least back up the apks that will be replaced.
Flash zip
Reboot
SecContacts and SecPhone apks
http://sourceforge.net/projects/note3900t/files/Mods/Inverted_Stock_ContactsPhone_MI7.zip/download
SecMms apk
http://sourceforge.net/projects/note3900t/files/Mods/Inverted_Stock_Mms_MI7.zip/download
SamsungIME apk (Samsung keyboard)
http://sourceforge.net/projects/note3900t/files/Mods/Inverted_Stock_SamsungIME_MI7.zip/download
FlashBarService apk (Multi Window)
http://sourceforge.net/projects/note3900t/files/Mods/Inverted_Stock_FlashBarService_MI7.zip/download
I won't have a problem sharing these, but if you would like to include them in your rom or use them as a base for a theme, please ask first.
There were hundreds of xmls edited to achieve this and not to mention digging for the smali files that also needed to be changed. I just ask for some courtesy.
Thanks and enjoy!
Oh and don't forget to smash that thanks button
Just in case.
Thanks

Are you running a odexed rom? These were meant for deodexed stock. You're going to have delete the odex file for the mms in the system/app folder of your phone.
If you also flashed the contacts and phone zip, then you're going to have to delete the odex files for the SecContacts and SecPhone too.

A trick to get the navbar mod to look better with some of the apks is to make the size of it smaller in the dimes.xml of the framework-res.apk.

It's not that the Nav Bar is too big - But the dialer keypad & the most recent call in the logs gets cut off..

While this is not the inverted/international-ed version, just for reference this is what @foreverloco was referring to as the workaround of sorts regarding the dialer. Yes things are still cut off, but the bottom dialer buttons are there enough to be usable anyway. Darn TW non-adjusting dialer/camera...

Did you edit the build.prop to add the additional soft keys to the Nav Bar (I'm guessing Yes) - Would you mind sharing what the edit was (I'm interested in adding the Menu to the Right side of the Nav Bar.

Yeah I don't know why they didn't allow for the resizing... it's rather annoying (nice dialer btw).
The screenshot there is the result of a bit of work actually - I set it up so that you don't need to change the build.prop to get the navkeys to show at all (can turn them on/off via checkbox/powermenu), and then smali-hacked things to force all 4 buttons to show (and to eliminate the overflow menu button bit that showed in places like SecSettings and SecContacts). I also didn't really follow the navbar guide that's posted exactly - I just added in the missing images (pulled from a CM11 build) and edited the SystemUI /res/drawable xmls to point to those images... the layout xml I didn't change at all.
Sorry for the off-topic stuff
