No Pit Partition & Recovery Corrupt. HELP? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys,
Phone was running on stock firmware. Not rooted. No custom recovery..
One day phone crashes, and fails to boot...when I click power button, it just shows me a grey static screen
Check video: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7380407/Note2_SWIssue.mp4
I then tried putting a custom recovery, and a stock kernel, etc, etc, But it seems my PIT partition decided to evaporate from my phone automatically.
So, what do you guys suggest? Should I try stock firmware with a pit partition file (with Re-partition checked in ODIN)??
Check ODIN screenshot in attachment.
p.S - My stock recovery is dead too. Trying to get to recovory shows the same grey static screen.
Please HELP!

Download Play Poland version.. as far I know... there are PIT file

Any hope to get the phone bring back to life?

motherboad replacement is your only solution.. u wont be able to fix it via [email protected] "no pit partition " means that your phones partition already [email protected] and there's no way to fix it excpet emmc or motherboard replacement..

Has my phone bitten the dust?

Really hope somebody can help.
I have had a galaxy note 2 for about 6 months on Vodafone UK N7100.
Today while i was at work i felt something hot in my pocket, my phone was very hot (i was not doing anything with it) The phone was stuck on the Samsung boot screen.
After a few minutes of looking at this i realised it was stuck and removed the battery. SInce then i have been unable to get past the boot screen, i can't get into download mode or reboot mode. The only things to note. When i turn my phone on a red light flashes. When i plug my charger in the charge icon appears on screen but it does not charge.
Really hoping somebody can help.
I had rooted my phone if that helps (it did not cause this problem and has been functioning rooted for months)
Update
Just managed to get to a screen which warned me about installing custom software and did i want to continue. I said yes and it is now downloading something
How did you get to that screen?

does it get recognize in odin if yes try to flash stock rom and revive your phone hopefully u are not using the 4.1.1 rom better get a 4.1.2 and bring it to life :good:
if u can get to download mode now then flashed philz recovery first. After flashing recovery wipe dalvik, cache partition & then data reset.then u can flash stock using odin. try this if the first one doesnt work

this would be your last hope http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32273406&postcount=5 follow the guide properly marked in red and remember to tick re partition in odin, if this doesnt work then your phone has been affected by sds due to 4.1.1 rom so u need to take it to service for motherboard replacement which is borne by samsung so no worries, and remember never to use a 4.1.1 rom in note 2 get the 4.1.2 rom or rather they will install that only this time and in future just go through dr.ketan thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896696 here it will guide you perfect instead following some untidy guides
for odin use 3.04 it works great though i havent tried new version as 3.04 works great you will get it in ketan thread

Thanks for the advice i am downloading the file now.
I did not manage to install the rom i suggested i was using so i don't think that could have been the issue. My phone just seemed to get hot then stop working, i hope as you suggested it is not my motherboard. Did you say that i should still be covered by the warrenty even though i had rooted my device?

well your reply is quite confusing
1.did you manage to flash the rom with pit in odin. was it successful or you get any errors
2.does your phone start now
3.if not then your phone has died and it needs to be taken to service guys ,but just check what the status of your phone in download mode is it official or custom . if its official then no worries just go ahead and take it to service guys and tell them abt your issue that the phone stopped working while in pocket dont info them that you rooted it ever just make them blv that it was a sds caused by 4.1.1 rom so they replace it free.
i mean your motherboard
Sorry if i am confusing matters.
I did not manage to flash anything it was just coming up with failed no PIT partition.
Current binary samsung official
My system status is custom
Are these ok to return my phone with?
I decided to take the advice offered and download the recovery but got confused.
Do i need all of the files from that link or just 1?
I downloaded the first one N7100XXDMB2_Factory
It contained
boot
cache
hidden
modem.bin
recovery
sboot.bin
system
tz
None of these are the md5 format
i am now thinking i should have downloaded XXDLJ2_OXA_Factory
Is that correct or was i right with the first file. If i was right downloading the first file then where do i get the md5 files required for odin to do my factory restore.
Know these are very noobish questions just doint want to do anything wrong
In answers to your questions....
1) Did i manage to flash the rom with it in odin
No
I got confused which files i should be using and did not want to do anything without being sure
2) My phone does not start
3) When i am in download mode my phone shows
Current binary Samsung official
My system status is custom
Are these ok to return my phone with?

If your phone doesn't have a partition map, then no, you can't.
You can try, as a last resort, using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43760271&postcount=22
I had a similar problem not too long ago (although it started with all apps crashing and then stuck at bootscreen) and managed to fix my phone.

EFS is a part of the system that stores your serial number, IMEI and everything related to your phone specifically. You are generally able to back it up using a custom recovery or using software on your PC while the phone is rooted and booted on the android OS. Since you cannot boot into recovery and also can't boot into android itself, I don't think you would be able to back it up.
If you ever installed a custom rom with AROMA, there is a chance you have it backed up already. But if you don't explicitly remember...

[Q] data recovery

Hello, my note II died one night. Either displays battery icon when charging or stuck on samsung logo. I can get in to odin recovery but cannot get in to bootloader mode. Device is not rooted and I did not turn on usb debugging mode earlier on. And now is the question. What do I do to recover pictures from it?. Is it possible at all?

Do you have a custom recovery? If so: make a data backup.
Otherwise: try rooting and recovering using download mode. (If it still works)
There are many tutorials on rooting (with download mode).
Question: How long is it stuck on the samsung logo? Do you have a bootloop? You are not rooted, but are you on a custom rom?

It is not rooted. I have stock ROM and dont have any backups. It shows samsung galaxy note II for ever or sometimes battery logo but it frozen and dont shows its charging. Cannot go into bootloader mode just into odin mode

And with odin mode you mean download mode? If so: Flash SU via odin, flash recovery, make a backup, flash a ROM. Most data will be in the backup, If you flash the ROM without wiping you still have all of your pictures and stuff.
Edit: I see you did not turn on USB debugging, however, as far as my knowledge goes, this is your only solution...
There is a way to push it to your device though (ADB), but I think it doesn't work without USB debugging...

finally I got PIT file for note II, cwm6 with root and stock ROM but...
odin3 stays forever on: get PIT for mapping.....
tried just PIT but same effect. Without PIT file it says: no PIT partition, flashing failed.
toolkit does not talk to the device as waiting for USB debugging mode on the device. even if I choose download via odin still the same.
Any ideas?

Is it possible that even if I can put device in the DL mode nothing can be done?
I tried kies on different PC. PC can see only USB camera and USB composite device and Kies stays forever on: connecting to device.
I tried my second device and kies recognized it straight away. Anyone have any ideas what is going on with my note II?
As I mentioned before I can put it into DL mode but it looks like its frozen just after doing that.
Any help will be appraciated.
I took note II from friend of mine to compare DL mode and I found something strange
His screen says:
ODIN MODE
Product NAME: GT-N7100
Custom binary download: NO
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
Knox warranty void: 0
AP SWAEV: A2
When mine says:
ODIN MODE
Product NAME:
Custom binary download: NO
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
I have NOT changed ROM on my device and I had it boxed
Any ideas?
still trying different things as no replies on my post.
when I leave my device connected to PC (switched on as normal but showing only samsung logo) after 5 mins PC says found USB device, device not recognized. then after 5 seconds it disconnects. and it goes in circles. same if I try in bootloader mode, but it stays on samsung logo as well. In DL mode, PC recognizes only composite device and modem.... Any ideas please? I dont want recover data anymore as I think its lost but I would like to unbrick my note2
Did you flash pit file? If not, download it from here http://d-h.st/Dlv
Using ODIN, select the PIT file, and make sure to TICK the Re-partition option.
I hope you already have a stock ROM downloaded. In the PDA tab of ODIN,select that rom and then press start. Wait and pray.

Do one thing. After loading the necessary files, tick re partition.
if it fails,
Load all the necessary files and make sure repartition is NOT tickd.Report back.

As I mensioned before, In DL mode, my device is not showing model number. Does it matter?
Before I tried all possibilities and suggestions on Win 8 PC, now trying on win 7 and I have more promising results, however I will try on newly installed system just to be sure that drivers and other stuff are ok. I tried different USB cables and different batteries. Still nothing, so hoping new system will help. except, anyone has different idea?
Ok, so I have done some research and even if I can put n7100 into DL mode but there is no product name displayed, device needs either new EMMC, or new PCB or JTAG. I will go with JTAG as my first option and will report as it might be usefull for someone in the future

Ace2 - Bricked

Hi,
My Ace 2 is bricked. When I turn on my phone it stays on the Samsung logo.:crying::crying:
I can not get into the recovery but I can get into the service mode.
I tried to flash gingeberd and jellybean with odin. But when the device reboots it stays on the Samsung logo. U8500 USB drive appears on the computer ROM.
Any help?
Any can help me?
Flash 3.Parted full FW according to your phone... Be sure that you pick 8160 or 8160P according to your phone
Use the GB Version (if you have 8160P) For 8160 we have only GB...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53921158&postcount=8
Set ODIN as mentioned here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2426437
Thank you very much for responding.
I'll try it
I have try this method and flashed the three file(Code, csc, pit) throgh Odin3 v3.07 with "Auto Reboot", "Re-Partition" "F. Reset Time" flags marked. Flashing is apparently succesfull (whith "PASS!" status shown and phone rebooting), but still stuck at initial logo.
Still no recovery mode?
No :crying:
mmmm - strange - is it an 8160 or an 8160P?
If 8160 (non-P) try the leaked JB MB4
http://getwapi.com/search/view/zip/WNlx-UxLba/I8160-EUR-I8160XXMB4-136126789.html
Klick on Download I8160-EUR-I8160XXMB4-1361267890.zip
There is no PIT file - Use the one I attached.... de-pack it first (of course)
It is a gt-i8160.
I'll download it. This afternoon I install.
Thank you very much.
Some more things to try... if MB4 does nothing...
Flash again GB 3-Parted...
Don't let the Phone boot - go directly to Download-Mode again
flash with ODIN - Kernel with CWM for your phone....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1435144&d=1351351603
Out of this thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32682067&postcount=644
Try to go direcly in CWM Recovery mode after flashing Kenel.... If you are in CWM do format SYSTEM, DATA, CACHE, INTERNAL SDCARD...
Go directly in Downloadmode and Flash 3-Parted Again.... Hopefully it will boot....
hi,
It does not work.
I have tried from odin and I've tried from heimdall.
When I flash the http://d-h.st/AZN.
I realize the steps described here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2426437
But I get the error: There is no pit partition.
I have looked with heimdall and the partition is in the system.
I've tried installing I8160XXLI2_CWM_5.0.2.6_ANT.tar.md5 in PDA section.
Setting the phone to restart and when restart the phone is locked. I can not start . To start I have to remove the battery and put it. And I can not go to recovery.
It only shows the logo of Samsung
Thanks,
Alejandro

If you are from Germany I could help further (with Riff box) but other wise I am out off ideas... sry
I'm not from germany.
But thank you very much, I will try to take it for repair.

I9192 bricked, set warranty bit: recovery

This is my relative phone (S4 Mini Duos) so I am helping him, he flashed CM ROM then flashed the stock ROM again. After flashing is complete and successful the phone only shows
Recovery booting
Set warranty bit: recovery
If force reboot it will show the splash screen then vibrate and turn off, then vibrate and turn on and show the splash screen and so on in a continuous loop
No matter what stock ROM I flashed the result is the same I found a pit file but couldn't find a stock ROM in 4 parts (Bootloader, PDA, Phone, CSC) to debrick it, all I found is the one with one tar file.
I tried to flash TWRP or CWM recovery and it is the same result. All flash processes stock ROM or any recovery is successful but nothing help.
Can I have some suggestions, useful links to help get this phone working again because he can't afford buying a new one.
let me share some of my experience, although it may not help.
My first android device is samsung i9190. and my first time flashing stuff. I flashed twrp through odin and flashed cm12.1 through twrp.
i really liked the rom except i needed best camera which stock rom offer. so here what i did is just open odin and selected my firmware.tar.md5 and click started.
I had one problem arised that my phone would vibrate from time to time on samsung logo but would not start.
So i had to go in stock recover and formatted cache and system(sorry i do not remember it might be restore system option). and after i rebooted the phone worked. And i have done it many times that way it work.
You can also try and flash through kies.
As I said When I flash stock ROM, everything is successful but I have the same result, I can't go into recovery and can't boot normally
Hey there,
Try downloading Unified Android Tool by Skipsoft. It will download all the necessary files relating to your phone and there should be stock recovery files under your model. Then try and boot the necessary files through Odin and see from there. I have a similar problem but I found booting a custom rom helped. But first try and get into recovery. Hold power, home button and volume up to switch the phone on, let go of power when it comes to the logo and see if it reboots into recovery.
Good luck

Thanks for this tip, I will try Skipsoft tool. Right now I can't go into recovery as you see in the attached photo, if I could get a working recovery then maybe I could revive the phone.
OK I tried Skipsoft Unified Android Tool and downloaded all the files, flashing any recovery is successful but I get the same result...
Recovery booting
Set warranty bit: recovery
Still have no clue how to solve this.
If someone have a link for a repair 4 files (Bootloader, PDA, Phone, CSC) to use it with a Pit file, please provide a link
Thanks

Help me. My SM-T705 Super Brick

how to fix it. now i can't boot to recovery mode and boot to download mode only. Please hele me step by step, Thanks
Same problem with my AT&T SM-T707. Help!
When you're booting into download mode, just press volume down to restart the tablet. Then you need to be quick: before the boot screen appears you need to press Power + Volume up + Home to boot into recovery. If it does not work the first time, just try again.
Best, maris
First, superbrick was only a term used during an EMMC bug for the S2 and Note.
second, you can use Odin to reflash the stock firmware. As long as you can access Download mode, it's an easy fix.

This may seem too simple, but have you tried using a different USB cable/USB port? NO USB HUBS.
Odin is VERY sensitive to ports/cables.
