Scott's ringtone/notification pack - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Sick of all of the pop and lame notification sounds? I was. I made these a long time ago (2008!) with fruitloops and I've used them since. I figured I'd share.
Never shared a ringtone before so... not sure how that goes here

Anyone using them?

Re: Custom notification ringtones
I commend you on the work you put into them, but it's not quite my cup of tea. But don't let my opinion stop you from creating.

Re: Custom notification ringtones
Thanks!

Created a flashable zip and added it to the OP.
Added a few other tones. I plan to add more and make it larger.

Not so much but the two sx-* notification tones are subtle.

Updated it some. Removed some and added some.

I Kind of hate the ICS emoticons in SMS

Any way to edit them?
Agreed, the :O face looks really angry which is weird.
Try sms go pro
haha I know same, I like the messaging app though.
I use Handcent. You can customize emoticons and send emoji smiles to you iPhone friends (or Android friends with Handcent, Go SMS etc.).
They're just .pngs in an apk (think it's systemui.apk). UOTKitchen also has several versions to choose from, though I haven't tried it with the galaxy nexus...so I'm not sure if it's updated for ICS.
I too hated the emoticons. Handcent has the option to use "Handcent emoticons" (not emoji) instead and they are much better.
I reccommend GO SMS simply for the various customizations, emoji plugin, and the notification pop-up.
This are the same emoticons form honeycomb... just ugly...

As someone said above - you can replace them in UOT Kitchen or pull framework-res.apk and do it manually. Really easy.

Have you experienced any issues with Handcent on ICS? I would get FC's alot when I was using it.
Instead of modifying, would it be possible to remove emoticons completely? I wonder what would happen if somebody just removed those pics. I will try when I get my nexus back from service.

That should do. Or in worst case you can replace all smileys with transparent .PNG's

[REQ] Lockscreen Shortcut Mod?

Hey everyone, hope you're all well.
I've got a quick question seeing as how I can't seem to dig it up on my own. There's a mod out that that changes the light that appears when you select a lockscreen shortcut and I can't find it.
I've already themed the actual lockscreen ring and now I'm trying to find that mod for the actual light. Any help anyone could provide would be amazing. Thanks so much.

Awesome thanks for the feedback. My goal with this is not to get too over the top with ui design, and also not take too much away from the stock layouts/elements. However i like darker elements jere and there and also a bit of color to notification icons. I have a few things on my to do list for this but requests are completely welcomed as well. Thanks again

After browsing some info about about paid themes and playstore links the op has been modified to remove my direct link. I dont want any trouble so i choose to comply. You can find it on play by searching the theme name. That is if you choose to purchase it. Never expected, always appreciated. Free version will always remain current with paid version. Thank you.

Thank you very much. Im glad there is some people using it, keeps me driven to update and improve. Speaking of, id like to get another update out in the next few days so if theres anything anyone would like to request now would be the time. Cant make any promises but all will be considered, and possibly added in future updates. After that im going to focus most of my time on my other theme ive been putting together. Id say i need about 2 weeks to get it in form for an initial release. At that point time will be divided between the two for updates. Thank you all again for the encouragement and feedback. A special thank you to those who have purchased, i have not checked the developer console stats to see who you are yet, but if you did, sincerely thank you. It really is appreciated, but never demanded.

[Themed App] Mms.apk 4.3- V2 Dark and Holo Blue & V3 Bubbles w/no Avatar

This is a stock AOKP 4.3 messaging app themed. The original version with gray panels has been discontinued. Version two has clear conversation list panels that expose the stock gradient background themed with Holo Blue. Version three adds outline bubbles that match the text color and has the avatars removed. They include Emoji, quick reply, breathing sms notification, strip unicode, enter for a new line, and custom user agent. No popup with the quick reply, quick reply is accessible thru the notification dropdown. HO versions have alternate Hangouts smileys in place of the stock droid ones. These are only tested on my Nexus 4 that is running 4.3 stock deodexed JWR66Y build. If you have success with a different rom, please post it. Don't forget to hit the thanks button if you like.
Disclaimer- As always, do a nandroid backup before flashing/installing. I take no responsibility for any issues. Flash at your own risk.
Updates
8/12 - Initial release - version 1
8/13 - Icon change, avatar placeholder change, attachment png fix, fixed gray on gray text with searching contacts when composing new message, fixed black on dark gray text when deleting conversation
8/14 - Themed smileys to holo blue, fixed black on black text when adding subject, increased max message size, changed phone number text to white when searching contacts, slightly darkened unread panel and changed date to white in conversation list for better visual appearance
8/15 - Removed white frame around mms in conversation panel, darkened active send button.
8/16 - Changed sender name/number in the quick reply box to holo blue.
9/06 - Themed widget added
9/11 - Version 2 added. Changed to clear conversation list panels that show the dark holo gradient background, a nicer visual appearance for those that like darker. Update only if you want both the conversation list and message list showing the gradient background.
9/17 - Version 1 discontinued. Version 2 updated - Changed received text color to pure white within quick reply for better visibility. Changed icons to white within dropdown when choosing attachment type. Removed the return to sleep when replying from lockscreen option in the settings menu since it is non functional with the JWR build. New and better screenshots added. Updating is recommended for anyone using this.
9/18 - Fix added for background of group participants list when receiving a group message. Picture frame added for pics received and sent within the messages panel. Theming is complete and this will be final unless someone spots a needed fix and brings it to my attention.
9/24 - Minor update. Fixed bad code by default for the Heart smiley that did not allow it to display properly when sending and receiving <3. Also took the opportunity to theme the pressed color around the recently added picture frame for a better match.
10/5 - Minor update to V2 - finalized. Lock indicator for messages changed to white for better visibility. V3 added. This is a bubble version, based off of V2, which provides matching outline bubbles and has the avatars removed.
10/9 - Fix for V3. Removed the bubble showing when viewing the group participants list for messages that are group messages.
10/14 - Minor fix for V3. Heart smiley fix added to V3.
10/26 - V2 & V3 apks with alternate Hangouts smileys uploaded. Note, these are only alternate smileys in place of the stock droid ones, not the entire set of emojis. See screenshots.
Installation
1) Flash the zip file in recovery or
2) Extract and push the Mms apk to system/app (remove and backup your current Mms.apk). Set permissions if needed.
* If using a odexed rom, you need to rename/remove the mms odex file.
Thanks to rustyjay for the apk.
Thanks to UBER for his tutorial and his bubble pngs.
Thanks a lot, it's a nice start! However, I noticed that the background in conversations looks like the dialer's and, in my opinion, that's how the main window background should look like. That grey doesn't look so good, in my opinion. Of course, I would have preferred a black background for everything, even for the top/bottom panels but it's a Holo Grey so I respect your decision
Personally I like it. Nice change, keep up the good work.
Sent from my Nexus 4
By the way, kroz the creator of the theme Hue http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2008993 uses a fiber background in a modified version of his main theme which you'll probably like
[EDIT] Could you please tell me where I can find more info about theming the messaging application? I'd like to give it a try myself.

I still want to do some changes with the top and bottom panels. They are untouched at this point. I'm liking the top panel black and thinking the bottom would look good black also. I'm working on trying to get transparency in the list screen, but otherwise I may change the shade of gray to match the panels better. Most of the theming I have done is the easier stuff. I did it all yesterday and today. Progress will be at a slower pace now.

Did you make a backup copy of your previous MMS apk, as instructed in the op? I'm not sure what is stock for you, as I don't know what rom you are running. If you didn't make a backup copy, you could always pull a copy from the rom zip and push it to system or make a flashable zip.
