Uneven sound output in earphones - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hello,
I bought senheizer earphones to use with my s3. However it seems that the left side gives a reduced sound. I would not have not noticed but sometimes the sound in that ear piece increases. Hence I noticed. Also I checked my earphones with other sound output devices and have confirmed that the earphone are working fine.
I read somewhere that the 3.5 mm jack is an exact fit. Which might cause a connection issue. If that is correct can someone suggest a solution. If that's not the case is there a defect with my phone?
This same problem occurs less frequently with original Samsung earphones.
Thanks in advance.

I had the same issue with my OMX adidas sennheiser headphones and I was able to resolve the issue by purchasing an external control or an apple trrs to android trrs connector. Heres an article why there are problems...
http://tech.gluga.com/2011/03/earphones-with-integrated-mics-and.html
You can double check this issue by plugging in the Factory Headphones that came with the phone(TRRS) ( do not use apple headphones, or beats headphones, because apple uses a different wiring for TRRS Jacks).
heres some options for you. If you know how to solder, you can find diagrams with this link
http://tech.gluga.com/2011/03/earphones-with-integrated-mics-and.html
heres the cables you can buy to convert it
http://www.meelec.com/MEElectronic_TRRS_Adapter_for_P_Version_Headphones_p/adptr-trrs-35.htm
http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-5mm-Earphone-Adapter-Headphone-Nokia-N-Series-9977-/170482444368?
Also, you can check Radioshack or Best Buy. They sell an extension to add controls to any headset, which will convert your TRS to TRRS, if its an android compatible headset. Good Luck!

I'm using a pair sennheiser cx 280 which has a trs connection. oddly enough ive had the left sound come and go randomly. so far it doesnt seem to be a hardware issue because i will listen to pandora and might have the issue and then when I switch to google music it will work just fine or vice versa. no amount of wiggling or replugging can reproduce the issue so it leads me to believe there might be a software issue? or im just going crazy

Messed up head phone jack

My headphone jack is starting to mess up
It sounds fine regularly but since I like my music sounding as good as I can make it I use an equalizer (the one in the stock music app) and I also use the bass boost music effect and then the music starts t crackle a lot (it didn't before) I also tried 5.1 just to check and that completely butchers the music now
I tried 2 pairs of good headphones and its like this on both so I concluded its a problem with my head phone jack.
Do I just clean the jack?
If so how?
I already tried blowing air into it
If all else doesn't work I have to take it to a sprint store right?
Since I don't have insurance how much will it cost me?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
It would cost 35 at a store. It's a pretty routine repair, the headphone jack is part of an assembly with the vibrator module, so long as they have harvested parts in stock.
I doubt cleaning will do much good, if you look in there and there's nothing there, that's all there is to clean.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Thanks
Well time to drop $35

USB Bluetooth for car?

In my car I have a USB connector for iPod an such in the glove department. Is there a USB Bluetooth device that I can pair with my phone?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
You'll probably want to list the car and stereo you are using. But I doubt there is anything that would work since the car/system probably doesn't have the intelligence to use it ie drivers or interface. If it did it would be built in already.

That is the only type of connection I could think of also. But that connects to headphone jack not USB. And if you have a headphone input you would rather use that then Bluetooth anyway cause it would sound better imo.

I just don't like that thing poking out. Then having to charge the thing. I'm already going to have a phone charging wires. I'll continue looking. I'll see how a new Bluetooth stereo would fit.

I hate the cosmetics of chords being everywhere too. I actually switch between BT and direct cable aux. depending on how long I'll be driving, what I'm listening to, GPS nav, etc. I'll say though, even with newer BT 3.0 and DSP eq apps on our phone (doesn't matter what ROM) aux cable will give you BEST quality. Trust me you'll be missing a bunch of bass that just can't be transmitted wirelessly as great as direct cable connection. If you're in the market, I'd suggest going to a few places they'll let you test their stereo models with your phone (try before you buy).

I wouldn't bother buying a bluetooth headset unless it was APT-X bluetooth codec compatible, which our GSIII is. Unless you're on CM/AOKP then it's not.
APT-X is the new high-definition quality sound codec that makes bluetooth sound MUCH better/cleaner for music.

I've just ordered an MW600. Will give feedback when I've tested it.
I have a set of mw600 but have only tried them briefly, a couple of months ago, with music. The sound quality was quite good and clear
I also remember they worked better than with my previous HTC phones as they displayed track names when paired with the S3

Ya I went on and ordered them. I got 2 day shipping so they will be here tomorrow according to amazon. I'm just pretty much expecting the clip to break I will just cleanly glue in another more sturdy one and hope it looks good. But from what I read other than the clip it is a great device. Hopefully it can withstand sweat I'm going to abuse this thing hopefully I can squeeze a year out of it.

More bass on left side

This is a really strange issue that has happened so far with 3 earphones so far. After some time, the left side has a bit of more volume and a huge lot more of bass, this never happened with the original sonyericsson earphone, but my cat broke it.
So, is it possible that my 3.5mm jack is damaging one of the sides of every earphone I connect? This is personally annoying for me beacuse I want a centered bass as always.
I use poweramp, latest version... I think it's a problem with my phone because when I buy the earphones and use them with the PC, it's okay, then I use and use a lot them on my phone until the problem occurs, then I try them again on the PC and yes, they are damaged.
Help? I won't keep spending money on earphones!
It's driving me crazy.. today I will go to the mall and take the decision of buying a new pair of earphones or not to... Anyone?
Since you use poweramp, have you tried to balance it over to the right side?

No, they're normal earphones since my cat broke the original Sony ones.
It's very difficult to know what exactly causing this hardware issue.

Bluetooth ones will more than likely have all controls (volume and answer buttons) working. I strongly recommend the Apple Earpods though if you care about the microphone. I have tried many highly praised wired/BT headsets and none of them have usable mics on the N5.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/CredDeal-X-Series-Foldable-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B00CQ2W20Q
Currently using these Bluetooth 4.0 Headphones with volume adjust buttons, mic, and a power button. Relatively simple. One piece of wire that connects the two pair of headphones and a small battery in the two earbuds that can play about 4-5 hours of music streaming over Bluetooth. I usually work out with these, so I had to get a pair of Bluetooth headphones that are light! So I can testify to their quality! Sound is solid as well, the sound is fairly close to my Klipsch S4 (II) earbuds. Headphones? Meh, I never buy bluetooth for those haha.
I couldn't find the US link to them, but I figured this should be a good lead. :victory:

These headphones are better sound quality and cheaper. They also come with 3 button controls. This is a way better buy then spending on 60 monsters. I'm an audiophile and use this for the gym and to beat up. My regular studio headphones are vmoda m100s if that helps you identify my music quality.

Yeah, I'm not an "audiophile" (I really, REALLY hate that word) but I am an audio enthusiast (been in the audio industry for 15+ years), and I gotta recommend staying away from anything Monster or Beats branded. You are paying 10% for the headphone, 90% for the brand, and they generally sound like crap.
You want good buds for a good price, go with Yuin. IEMs- Shure or Westone. Cans- Sony, Beyerdynamic, higher end Sennheiser (their low end is crap), Grado, some AKG, HiFiMan, certain V-Modas. Portable supra aurals- Ultrasone has some good ones and the Koss Porta Pro's are pretty much unparalleled for their price and I'm pretty sure that they have ones with mics and controls now.
Bottom line, if they are mainstream and all your friends say to buy them, don't. The best values can be found in brands that don't spend millions on advertising.
