What Reminder/To-Do App do you Use? - Nexus 4 Themes and Apps

I'm looking for a reminder app that can set due dates/locations. I was using evernote but I realized that it doesn't have a reminder feature. So what app do you use?

My favorite is Any.DO, very clean UI and quite a few options for reminders. And it's free! Give it a try: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.anydo&hl=en

I'll give it a try. Do you know if there is a way to make a space in between lines/paragraphs of text when making a note for a task? You know like you hit enter to skip to the next line and hit it twice to leave an empty line so you can write something with a new topic below it? For example:
Topic 1 (then hit enter)
Topic 2
It seems like a pretty basic feature but I can't figure out how to do it with Any.Do. Every time I try to hit the enter button, it just submits my note as if I am done typing when really I want to go to the next line. It's somewhat annoying now because as you are typing in the note box for a task, it only shows one long sentence/line of text. It would be much easier to read/input longer notes if you could add in blank lines and see the entire note at once instead of just 1 line.

Unfortunately I don't think there is a way to make a new line. Although I do see what you're saying, it would make it easier to write long reminders.

That's too bad but it is a great app otherwise. Hopefully they add it later. Someone had mentioned in the feedback requested feature setting that issue with chrome and Any.Do and they responded with they are working on it. Hopefully if they fix it in chrome, they will add the same feature to the app.

The best thing to do is to mail them. They are very responsive and they might add it. I've mailed them a few times and they have responded.

I just got this a week ago and it is very impressive. Great features and very clean, smooth interface. Must have.

Also check out Notif Pro. Allows you to put ongoing notifications in the notification window, including pictures (like when you take a screenshot), lists, reminders, etc. Dev just released a major update, made it even better!

Except ANY.DO doesn't seem to have any autosync feature. It will sync manually, but I want to enter a task and have it sync the task immediately without any intervention. Without autosync, it is just pretty and that is about it

I use Astrid task. I don't use it extensively but there are a lot of options.
U could give that a try and see how it is

+1 for Astrid.

I use a combination of Evernote and GTasks. The latter is an app that integrates with Google Tasks and Google Calendar so that works really well. It lets me set priority an d due date/time, not sure about location. but it does pick up the location from Google Calendar pretty well.

Also, astrid [oldest and arguably best task mgmt for android] has google task sync in beta last time I checked.

Yes it really it is
Gtask or astrid - none if them have SMS options as reminder in Google calendar service. Was looking for that options specially.

Hmmm... Honestly, I don't remember the Google tasks being that robust anyways... If you are looking for features try productiv with astrid or whassat flashy one? Oh yeah any.do is aesthetic and has more features than the Google tasks... Tasks can be added from gmail methinks... But all in all, when I look at Google's Task service compared to other services, I recognize it for what it was and is, an afterthought.
Wish it were different, but Much better off using Google Calendar for reminders.. Tasks may get there one day ::shrug::
PS you want some kind of calendar/task tie together... May have to recommend Touchdown.. but its a bit pricey.
PSS 5 seconds later... Googled: "sms reminder apk" (since that is feature you wish for). SMS reminder pro came up twice at the top ::shrug:: haven't personally tested but if I'm bored, I'd Google something like that I wished to test. (Google search tip: apk says Android application better than writing it out would)
Ok... Bad advice... Went to market and read descript... It reminds you about missed sms's...
Change that to something else I haven't tested but appears to be in the vein you are searching for...

If someone is looking for a Calendar app integrated with Google tasks, you can search for Calendar++ or Calendar++ free on Google Play, it is new, unnoticed, but I promise it is a surprise for your. Thank your for trying.

[REQ] Note taking app

Im looking for an app that I can use to take notes while i am in a call. I use my Voicmail a lot and need to write down a dozen or so calls throughout the day. Looking for something that can easily switch between the dialer and the note page as I need to write a note go back in to press delete then go to next message then write a note...on and on and on.Does anyone know of such an app?
Have you tried evernote? It's very handy and syncs with the cloud so the notes are accessible anywhere.

Have a look at Quill on the market, it's a pen taking app, use a stylus or your finger, you can save as a pdf or pic, might be something you would like. If you don't want to type of course.

Hovernote might work for you. It's actually an overlay application that will just sit on top of the dialer, or anything else, and lets you type into it and save as a text file.
Personally I like Papyrus. Works great for taking notes. Not sure if that is what you are looking for though.

I use Papyrus Ex, it's sort of like Papyrus except it doesn't request permissions to take over your whole phone and sniff all your contacts, all it asks for is read and write to SD card. You can change where it stores too, good for when you flash roms or backup, that way you don't lose your notes.
Try Colornote
S note that comes with s3... you can use your finger or stylus to write on pages

Nexus 7 Kit Kat email replacement

Ok, so ever since kit kat update, the stock email app has become completely useless. The drag and drop feature has been removed and now I cannot delete not move my emails.
My question is what alternatives are worth looking into. I'm dabbling with Aquamail, but it is so focused on multiple accounts that it's features are driving me crazy. Is there anything out there that can match the old stock email app or should I give up on managing my email on my tablet?

I'm not sure what you mean by messed up notification settings, but k9 provides the standard notification options. I get sound, vibration and led notifications without problems.

Woops, I never got notified of this post. My issue with the notification settings was that K9 would never do bulk notifications, only notifications for each and every single email, which drove me nuts.
Gahhhh, if only Google hadn't ruined the email app...

It may be good, but I'm always of the mind that if a native app does the trick without issues then why add apps that can misbehave or maybe cause battery drains. If I'm not happy with an app i look for a replacement but not if it works fine. That's just my preference.

Handcent for me. I have been using it for years. I like the customization by contact. You can have different notifications, fonts, backgrounds, sounds and vibrations for each individual. Very nice to know who texted you with customized notifications. I also like the Oops delay. You can set a lag from when you hit send until it sends.
All these features helps visually, physically and by sound who you are communicating with. Less likely to send the wrong text to the wrong person.

Sadly just using stock because at home I use WIFI calling all the time and stock is the only one that always works, all the time, with wifi calling.
But I do use SMS popup program so I get pop up notifications and a quick reply.

I won't use anything from CM these days. Not after what they did to some developers when they became Cyanogen Inc. They basically stole work of other people and left them out to dry. I used to use nothing but CM now, it's just not for me anymore.
Hangouts
I use hangouts, and love how they integrate SMS and Chats.
I had a question though, is there any way our SMSes can be integrated with Gmail Chats?
i.e. If you chat normally on Hangouts, it shows up in Chat history in my Gmail when I see in the browser.
It will be very convenient to have my SMS show up there as well, can search, copy, paste, archive and backup easily.
Anyone else with same thoughts?

.... you can change your SMS sounds in the Sounds menu in Settings... As for the e-mail notification sound, that should be somewhere in your e-mail app's settings.
Thanks, I'll look in there while I have this post pulled up

I'll put a shout out for Light Flow. It lets you customize notifications in a very detailed way. It started as an LED flash customizer, and built up from there. I've got three Gmail accounts on my phone... each has a unique sound, LED color, and vibration assigned. So, I can hear, feel, and see the different notifiers. Works great if I'm in a meeting with sound and vibrate off for discretion. a quick glance at the phone shows me if I've got an email in to my "important" GMAIL account, and a different color/flash rate if there was a text waiting.
Check it out. There's a "lite" version of the app but I'm a paid user... it's worth every penny.
