[POLL] TeamSpeak 3 for Windows RT? - Windows RT General

Do you think they are going to create an RT port / app in the future?
I really could use one about now...

I hope so, but kind of feel its not going to happen. If I remember, their android app was originally 3rd party and only just now are they making their own.

Hi,
I keep meaning to make a dedicated thread for TouchRC, but never seem to have time. I'll try and create one over the weekend. If you want the direct link for it, then it's here.
Thanks,

You can't get VmcController working? What OS are you using? There are users reporting issues with 64 bit W7.
You could also try to install Windows Sideshow on your WM (Vista PCs only). Works fine, you can add gadgets like the Windows Media Center control.
My favorite gadgets are the Powerpoint Remote and Computer Health gadget.
See http://gallery.live.com/default.aspx?pl=7 for downloadable gadgets, download the CAB here.
YouTube vid here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=towQP4v5nRU
Edit: This works only when using bluetooth...

Would love to see a thread on TouchRC. This thread has just introduced me to it but the whole thing goes a little over my head.
I'm running the 7 RC and when I load up Media Centre it says it cannot run VMC Controller. Maybe it's best for me to wait until it comes out of beta but I'd love to be able to get this up and running!

User OldDog has posted instructions in this thread about how to get VmcController running in 7MC. I really hope they make a dedicated 7MC installer for it at some point soon!!
Hope this is of some help to you.

I've used this in the past. I don't remember it being Media Centre capable though. It's good for Windows Media Player.
Can't get on with the Windows Sideshow MC controller. It's a shame that MS can't produce something amazing for the Sideshow platform. Being limited to bluetooth is a major flaw. WiFi control is the way forward!

Simple Restart Application

I own a TMobile hTC HD7 and I have been waiting patiently for a "Restart/Soft Reset" Application to hit the Marketplace. I am actually quite surprised that not more people are interested in a simple app like that. There are countless times when my phone will start acting up or not loading applications properly, so I am constantly restarting my phone. A soft reset app would be a great addition to my phone app collection. This is more of a request as opposed to a rant. While I'm not as talented as some of the developers here, but I am quite sure that a simple restart application wouldn't be insanely hard to develop. Is there anyone out there that is willing to help me out? Or anyone else who thinks this would be a good idea? Or am I alone in this? Lol
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
yeah Me too.. I agree with you.. I hope someone will make a restart software or a task manager software...
Well its nice to know that I wasn't the only one who would like to see a Soft Reset Application with the Windows Phone 7 theme and feel as the UI. I hope someone amazing comes across this thread and makes this a reality.

Does it actually need a UI? Wouldn't a tile pinned to start do just fine? I mean, what would be included in the UI apart from a "reboot" button?
Well i guess it wouldn't need some crazy elaborate UI.... Just an icon nice enough to put on my home page.

Has a skilled developer heard my plea? And is willing to develop this totally useful application?

+1 on this.

I personally don't see a need for such an app but I'll knock something together over the weekend. So basically just an icon you place on your home screen that, when pressed, reboots your phone? right?
Yes something along those lines.... Obviously something that kinda fits the whole Windows Phone 7 Metro Theme... But the reason why I thought a UI would be necessary... Would be a Settings page... To have the icon that is placed on the homeacreen able to do different functions that each user could specify on their own. But definitely a way to simply Restart the phone...
Sent from Projekt hTC HD7
And yea man.. Thanks a lot for attempting this.... Like I have stated before... I am not a developer myself otherwise I would've made something like this a while ago... But I am quite sure that this wouldn't be an insanely difficult task.... But regardless your efforts are well appreciated... Looking forward to seeing this evolve.

Well, that just confused me again
Either you want a tile which will reboot your phone (for which I personally see no use - as it's easy enough to just press the power button for 2 seconds) or you want ... err, well ... something completely different
In any case, I've written an app that will do just this - clicking it will ask you if you want to reboot or shutdown the device. No bells or whistles - this is all it does. Will have to tidy up the code a bit, but I'll get it attached here later tonight or tomorrow.

You'd be surprised
There are no APIs available for this so I've had to write native code to get it working - which means it will never be available in the marketplace and will only run on developer-unlocked devices.
Yes, this will be a handy tool. Another added feature I've missed on WP7. This & a screen capture app are all I'm really missing, app-wise that is.
O man.. That kinda sucks for me... I don't have a unlocked device... Mine is Tmobile hTC HD7... but whatever then... I'm glad someone out there tried.. And allowed others to benefit from it... Thanks

Hi all have used the DLL Import work here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1006331
To create a simple restarter. Click the app and restart your phone. As it uses the native API's it can't be put on the marketplace but for anyone with a dev unlocked phone simple deploy the XAP and all is good.

[APP] FBMetro, a Mini Facebook App

Currently I am building and shortly will be done with my Facebook Metro App for Windows 8 and the idea is to have 2 UI's.
1). Full Screen w/Most Features.
2). Half-Sized w/Basic features so you can use your favorite App's while still accessing your Facebook features, feed and etc.
Question is, what would YOU want added to either UI?
Well u should post some pictures of the program so we can see what it has and hasnt so we can give you opinions When its really upload it and i will test it for sure
After or on Tuesday, I can share the design as I am scheduled with a MS Engineer to help my App have the final touches and tested as well and hopefully first Facebook App in the Store.
Also thanks for responding.

Please implement off line messages because the Messaging app won't let you send them
Looking forward to FBMetro! (Suggestion to call it MetroBook instead! )
Do half-sized mean Snapped mode?

Offline messages? As in check for personal messages and grab them and save them for no-connection viewing and respond while offline and when/if connection available automatically send?

Well FBMetro is really just the project name, Facebook already has an App registered as Facebook Metro.
The half-sized mode is in fact the snapped mode... I have included old-SS of which the actual App does not represent anymore as of my meeting with my Microsoft sponsor who wouldn't permit me to go any further with the design, even though I was nowhere near done lol.
Note: Job Discovery is my other App for Win8 and is actually currently a free WP7 App. In the photo you can see that my Facebook App can be used by other Developers to post information from their App using my pre-established Auth to the end-users Facebook Account. Yes, they can actually implement my App to be used by theirs.
nice, where can I get it?
It's coming, very soon!
and here is my idea....
as you may know in our country (iran) we can't access FACE.BOOK...we have to use v.p.n and other pro.xy apps...
it'll be gr8 if you add setting to your app so that we can add pro.xy and these kind of things...(especially pro.xy...)
thanks...

question
hy. I just want to know, when it will be available? could we download it from windows store? I'm a really big METRO UI fan, and I would be happy if I can use facebook in this way.
and of course sorry for my bed english
Cool App!!
I am actually working with someone from Microsoft to get the App Certified, I had to really redo A LOT of the UI as they have made the standards really rough.
Right when it's ready, I will immediately provide the link.
Thanks for your interest!

[Q] Anyway to use mobileconfig file from iPhone on S3?

Sonos App RT? Need Developer plz!

Ok guys this is actually my first time posting as a member of this site so before I ask for help I wanted to thank everyone on here for there hard work and devotion . You are the ones who make it easy and simple for those without the knowledge . Keep doing a great job and have mercy on the noobs! Now I would like to ask if someone can direct me or find a way to port a Windows RT app to my Lumina 2520 Tablet it is called Sonos . I just shuffled out over 800$ for this Tablet and Wireless Receiver/amp . I'm very upset as I asked if they for sure worked for my device , of course they reassured me that it was 100% universal app . I should of known better and double checked it myself . Guess I will know better next time.
Thanks everyone
Menk1313
I just checked. There is no store app for sonos. Nor is there such thing as a universal app. I think you asked the wrong question or misunderstood this answer.
Nor would a windows RT app need porting to your device seeming as those are the apps your device runs anyway.

Well obviously there are no apps that are actually "Universal " what I meant was they told me all the OS carry the software needed to run this program. So what I was asking from you guys is it possible to somehow get the Windows 8 version running on RT ? Sorry for the mistakes in my first post
By "Windows 8 version" I assume you just mean "x86 Windows version" since there's no Win8 "modern" app for it, at least not in the US store.
Even if the app was open source or written fully in .NET, the answer is still no until there's a jailbreak available for RT 8.1.
