LOL why would you format emmc (extsdcard) and sdcard (the internal memory where all your files are) -_-
Pull your battery, put back in and press volume down + home button + power button. It'll go into download mode, when screen pops up press volume up button. After that do odin flash. Get the PDA from sammobile.com

Or you could just use adb to push the zips from your computer to your phone then install cm10.

No need for adb, especially if you're new to this.

I think phone needs to be turned on to use kies. Either way, you don't need it.
Make sure you're in download mode, that you use a good cable/usb port and that your pc/odin recognize your phone.

If you have an external SD card you can get a card adapter for like $10 at radio shack or walmart take the SD card out and put it in your computer and download a ROM and put it on the external and put it back on the phone. Reboot the phone into CWR and install zip from external SD card. You can use any ROM to get you back up and running as long ad you're rooted. Once you get it all back up just redownload the 10.1 and flash. Fast, easy and simple instructions.

[Guide]To UnBrick (a Soft Brick) SGS GT-I9000

Hey Users
I wanted to create this guide as I'm seeing allot of SGS users bricking there phone..This guide works for SGS GT-I9000 only..
ALSO USE THIS GUIDE IF AND ONLY IF U SEE THE FOLLOWING IMAGE WHNE BOOTING YOUR PHONE(attached image:1)
Downloads:
1. Odin3_v1.00 download here
2.The PIT file here
3.USB Drivers form here(This Is Optional if it is already installed by your phone, else you need to download it and install it)
Steps:
1.Run Odin3
2.Select "pit" and add the pit file u downloaded
3.Put ur SGS to download mode
--Do so by Pressing the 3 button combo Volume Down+Home(Center) Button+Power button
--Hold it till you see the Download screen(attached image:3)
Then go back to odin and see if your phone is connected (attached image:2)
Make sure re-partition is un-checked
Hit the Start button and wait..it'll unbrick your phone and load the previous Fimrware/Rom...
Enjoy

This will not solve anything if u cant get into download mode, and usually if your phone is bricked then u cant access download mode, so your thread should be called how to fix your phone when its soft bricked
you sir, are a gentleman and a scholar!!!! Got my dad's phone back from the black-screen-of-death.
That pit file saved my life, otherwise i would of had one angry Dad, lol.
Thank you!!
Way better than flashing Darky 10.2 RE every single time like I did. Thanks I'll try it as i get a softbrick frequently.
I hate to be that guy, but this "guide" is somewhat incomplete and misleading:
first of all the very first and important step is making sure one has installed the appropriate drivers and that the OS recognizes the phone through DL mode, otherwise Odin will suck on "setting up connection" (this is the most common cause for soft brick during flashing)!
second: if there's no re-partition, there's no need for pit neither, because that's exactly it's used for: it contains the partition table structure layout for the official firmwares.

The drivers in device manager on the PC.
Are you running Odin as administrator?
So go to device manager and find the device and uninstall the drivers. Reboot computer with phone unconnected and then connect again once rebooted for windows to find device. Does the phone charge when connected ?

[Q] What means "one click flashing"?

Hi, I am studying android and custom roms...
I found the term, "one click flashing". (I am usually playing in AT&T android development forum. In particular, Ditto Note 3)
What means "one click flashing"?
Waiting for reply.
Thanks.
Have a good day.
The file is downloaded to the pc, is unzipped, and then ran in administrator mode. The phone is booted in download mode and connected to the pc. Then you click 'start' once, and the rom is installed.
What do you mean the file is ran in administrator mode? I assume you are talking about Odin? I am not familiar with Odin very much. I too am wanting to know this in reference to the DN3 rom.
Admin mode is windows 7
How is one click different than a normal flash with Odin? In one click do you still have to select the file into the PDA slot to flash a bootloader? On the Play store there is a mobile Odin. Can I use this to flash a bootloader? I don't have access to a PC so do it the traditional way through Odin is difficult for me.

You don't have to put anything into the PDA slot. The one click works, like your opening a zip file. Once it's open,, Odin would pop up on your PC... Then your phone is put into download mode,, connected to the PC. Hit start wait till it completes...
Done...
As far as MobileOdinPro...
I've heard some people used it to flash...
Just read and know what your doing\flashing using mobile Odin ok...

Okay, you make it sound so easy. I have yet to be able to get Odin to work. I have downloaded countless versions of Odin from xda and when I put the phone in download mode and flash a file in pda slot nothing happens, it says 0 ran, 0 failed. I have downloaded the file several times and still no go. When I use Odin it never shows my model number on the top of the program. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am trying to flash the bootloader to 4.3. Don't know if this matters but I used the heimdal method to root my phone on a Mac, but since no Odin on Mac, I have been using a pc for it.
