poor wifi connection - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

So last week my phone began having problems connecting to my Linksys e900 router. If i am more than 10 feet away from the router i lose signal completely. Before this it connected every time without a problem. Sitting at my desk 2 feet away from the router i get 0-1 bars. However i live in an apartment complex so i have a lot of access points to choose from and do not have any problem picking up a few strong signals anywhere in my apartment from my neighbors. My phone seems to be the only thing effected. My Roku, my girlfriends 4s, ipad, nexus 7, and our computers all pick up a signal perfectly anywhere in the apartment.
Things i have tried to fix the problem.
I have tried various roms, stock Blazer jb, CM10, AOKP, and, now Liquid smooth.
Reset router
Changed router channels and frequency
WPS/Non WPS connection
Unsecured router
Moving the router to various spots around the apartment
Turned on/off wifi optimization and just about every other wifi option in the settings menu.
otterbox case on/off
So now im at the point where i just want to go buy another router since i know the phone will connect to other routers. Is there something that i have completely looked over ?
tldr; Phone wont connect to my router, everything else does. Phone will connect to other routers no problem. Tried everything i can think of.

Random wifi problems

I have tried many of the ROM's here and I have noticed a
problem they have in common My network uses WPA-psk tkip usually when connected, the internet will work fine for a
few minutes, (generally 10-15 minutes), the connection will
just stop working, it will still be connected to the wifi
network but I cant load any web pages or send any pings the only way to fix it is to either try to connect to a different
network then connect back to my network, or turn the wifi
off then back on. My router is a linksys wrt54GL running tomato I also tried connecting to my actiontec router, and my
netgear router and the same problem happened on all of
them My hp ipaq rx3115 running windows mobile 2003 does not
have this problem. my signal strength is good. (generally around -20 to -30
dbm ) on some of the threads, I herd about a wifi patch but I
never see any links to it. Is anyone else having this problem?

[Q] Multiple HD7s on Wifi

Does anyone have multiple HD7s on the same wifi network? We have three devices and they all connect perfectly by themselves as long as no other one is connected. But they only sporadically connect, if at all, when one device has connected and the other tries to hop on. If you turn the connected device off, the other one trying to connect connects immediately.
The router is a Netgear 108g WGT624. Changing the router settings make no apparent difference. It doesn't matter if it's WEP, WPA, no security, no MAC address filtering, changing the password, nothing at all. The only contingency is whether or not another HD7 is connected.
Might it have anything to do with how close the MAC addresses are? All three devices have identical MAC addresses through the first 6 numbers.
If anyone has a multiple HD7s working on the same network, please post your wireless setup.
that could possibly be the issue (having close mac addresses). but if they're all unique i don't see how this should be an issue. have you tried using the HD7s on a different router (not made by netgear)? if not, i'd suggest that to see if it's your router or something else. let us know how it goes...
Unplug the router for 15-30 seconds.

if you send me your hd7's I'll be happy to test for you!!!
My household has two WP7 devices and I don't have any WiFi issues. They both sync thru WiFi as well.
My WiFi is handled by an Apple Airport Extreme. Routing is done in the basement by a Linksys router.
I've not noticed any issues with having our 2 connected to the network at home, then again, I've not checked they're both connected at the same time.
I know that I used to have issues where my TP2 and my wife's Hero couldn't connect at the same time which was mighty strange. Sounds like this could be a similar issue you're having, sadly I can't offer an explanation of why it happens though
I'm not sure what the problem was exactly but getting a new wireless router solved the issue, all 3 HD7s connect great now
The new router is a Netgear WNDR3400-100NAS.
Have 2 hd7 and 1 will connect without problems, the other one needs wifi turned off and then back on before it will connect,
Belkin router, and have played with all the settings on the router.
That sounds like the same thing that I had. A new router was the only solution I could find: $80 at Best Buy.
Unplug the router for 15-30 seconds. If that doesn't work see if there is a new firmware update for your router. If that fails you need a new one.

WiFi problems on Acer Iconia A100

I'm having WiFi problems with A100 (w/ stock Honeycomb 3.2).
I have a Netgear WNR3500L wireless router (currently working in N/G mixed mode, but have tried all other modes as well) with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10) mega firmware.
I have my router behind a wooden wall and the WiFi coverage with A100 is only about 5-6 meters! Go anywhere beyond that radius and it keeps losing the connection.
Have tried different modes and channels on my router, but nothing seems to help.
All my other (10 or so) wireless devices work flawlessly and have a very stable connection in all areas where the A100 doesn't.
Anybody knows if there's some kind of patch or workaround for this problem?
(I've already read suggestions to use static IP instead of DHCP assigned one, but that just a silly suggestion IMHO.)
Thanks!
U got toe same problem... On 2 routers
Sent from my A100 using xda premium
What is the received signal level reported by the A100 compared to the other wireless devices at the same location?
For Android devices, the best tool is WiFi Analyzer (along with its connecter libraries).
For a Linux netbook or laptop use iwconfig to get the rx level.
Any level greater than -80dBm should provide a stable connection. WiFi Analyzer will show you interfering access points and suggest the best channel.
If the A100 reports consistently lower than others, I think you have to replace it.
Thank you for your reply.
Yes, it has about 10 to 15 dB weaker signal compared to other android devices in the same spot. The signal on A100 is jumping around between -85 to -70dB.
I guess I'll take it back to the store then
I had terrible wifi problems when I first got my A100. It kept kicking on and off so I couldn't download anything. I changed the settings and this is a permanent fix for me so far.
I long pressed the wifi network I was on. I selected modify network. And then all I did was change the IP settings to static. I hope this helps others.
I took the Iconia back, got a refund and bought Sony S1 tablet instead.
And it rocks At the same spot, where Iconia kept loosing the wifi connection, the S1 has full wifi bars.
That was my first experience with Acer devices and probably the last one also.

WiFi Disconnecting Issue

Hi,
I'm on my second P2XL (Panda). Both have had issues where they constantly and apparently disconnect on Wifi.
I have a Virgin Media superhub 3 (tried turning 5ghz off), also a TP link range extender plug. Seems to happen on both devices, it disconnects when I'm right on top of the Superhub router.
Any suggestions?
Thinking it must be the router, any suggestions?
would it be worth renaming either the 2 or 5ghz ssid?
I am a wifi newb and have the hub set on factory settings.

I think you are correct on the issue being with the router, and since the repeater gets its signal from the router the repeater is likely not to blame. Changing the SSID would not help. I would first ensure your router (and repeater) is up to date with the latest firmware. My Netgear router comes out with new firmware 2-3 times per year fixing bugs. TP link offers new firmware but not very often. Another solution may be to change the channel the Wi-Fi is using. Usually set to auto, you can change both the 2.4 and 5 Ghz band channels. It could be interference from your neighbors is causing an issue. There are several Wi-Fi apps you can use to find the least congested channels in your home. WiFi Analyzer is one.
If your router is up to date and still causing problems on different channels, you should consider replacing it with a well supported model. No doubt you have used your phone on other Wi-Fi AP's and not had a problem. If you've tried the above with no success, do some research HERE to find a new router.
This is on the Android fanzine sites.

FIXED - For me, my router was pumping 2.4 & 5 ghz as same name. I renamed the 5 ghz, forgot connection on phone and connected to the "new" 5ghz.
No drops since.
Think the phone was getting confused when it was at the far reaches of the 5ghz connection.

WiFi not connecting clean?

How can I test my WiFi connection to see how clean it is? I don't mean how strong it is... it's strong as heck thanks to the app WiFi Analyzer.
Plus, I'm literally two feet from the WiFi router.
But ever since I switched from cable to fiber Internet, my cellphone has had WiFi issues. Not sure if Fiber is the reason but it was around that time.
I've configured the WiFi router for bridged-mode and am using my old WiFi router that worked great with my phone.
I've tried stock Android, Dirty Unicorns and Ressurection Remix and all three have the same issue even though I'm doing a full-format in between ROM.
Like, connecting to Messages for Web (Google Messages) on my PC, it refuses to authenticate with my phone if I'm on WiFI. But the moment I switch to Cellular, Messages for Web picks up my phone right away.
And Pandora will time out if I'm on WiFi. But if I switch to Cellular, it connects right away. And sometimes after switching back to WiFi it will keep playing.
But speed test apps are all getting me low ms ping and blazing fast download speeds on WiFi.
EDIT NEVERMIND
Hahah, I just realized there was a thin metal plate resting on top of the test WiFi router I implemented.
The metal plate was severely much of the WiFi signal. I never noticed it because the WiFi router was above eye level.
So, the AT&T Fiber WiFi router sucked but the test WiFi router is working fine after I removed the metal plate that someone left sitting on top of it.
I have similar issue, but not consistent. Wifi is connected, everything seems fine, but sometimes it stops responding as if wifi is connected but no internet. As I switch off wifi internet starts working immediately or I have to wait a few seconds and refresh whatever I was using(browser, whatsapp etc).
Like you I am using fiber and to make sure if it is router based, I switched from crappy Huawei to a bit better Xiaomi router. But issue still there.
But there is some improvement if I select a relatively empty channel on 2.4ghz or 5ghz(neighbors dose not know about 5ghz too much). 2.4Ghz there is always problem but 5Ghz seems better(range sucks yes) and I think problem is based on channels.
I switched to fiber long ago and cable was more smoother but cable modem or router was quality, here ISP's are using very bad routers based on low end Huawei or TP-Link.
