[Q] Rooting HTC One VX - HTC One VX

Can someone tell me how to root an HTC One VX. I have been all over the Internet looking and have found several sites but the issue is that the root package file does not download. When clicking on the root package it goes to a website and then it does not display anything because the page times out. Does anyone have the root package?

I cannot get it to root for anything which really sucks because i wanna install a custome rom:crying:

Check JMZ's root method in one VX development or original development can't remember which one it's in. I am full rooted running JMZ's custom rom. Not on computer so can't post link. Just look around its there

htc dev unlock, then you can do fastboot flash recovery (custom recovery) once got custom recovery you can either flash JMZ custom rom, JB rom, or Flash the SU.zip and keep it stock with root

Or a really dumbed sown guide with links to every thing I need thanks all

When you say 'new' Sense I take it you mean one of the HD ROMs? This is the only way to get Sense 2.0 at present
Yes I did mean the dhd Rom just wanted to see what it is like ,
Also if I root with unrevoked will I loose my set up or does it back that up in the process

Rooting doesn't change anything except to give you root access and flash a custom recovery. The phone will still run exactly as before. You can back up the ROM before flashing by doing a Nandroid backup. Then you can flash a custom ROM but for instructions on that either read the ROM thread or search for threads on flashing a new ROM as it's not the place to do it here

[Q] [ Help needed ]

Since I'm a noob when looking HTC devices, (dozens of Galaxy devices gone trough my clockwork) and new in this section of xda forums, can someone point me in right direction.
For Samsung galaxy s1 and s2 there is enough clockwork flashable rom images that are basically stock rom with CWM Recovery, root and busybox (In fact minor but important changes of stock rom).
Is there something like that for Desire HD?
Thank you in advance!
Hi, welcome! If you mean an improved stock ROM the best one is no doubt the Revolution HD. You can find it in the development forum.

this rom looks to me significantly altered, what I am looking for is practicaly a stock rom packed as cwm flashable with root and busybox, with as little alterations as possible.
(very demanding user is sucking my blood...stock rom is usually solution to shut them up)

if you're really looking for a "stock" rom then you'll have to search development section and grab a RUU. Once done, you can flash CWM and root it. Although i heard that latest versions of GB are having issues being rooted although the adb method is a universal one and shouldn't be a problem.
here is the guide on how to install the RUU
Or you can download this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382235
Rooted completely stock Android 2.3.5 sence 3.0, with superuser and busybox.
If you want cwm then all you need to do is to download Rom manager from android market and flash latest cmw.

How to root my one x

Ok so i got my One X as xmas present. Downloaded all updates and now staying at stock JB Rom. I dont have root but i want it because i want flash custom rom. Can any one give me detailed guide in PM or in this topic please.
Version 4.1.1
3.14.401.31
Stick with stock phone for a week or so, because you might find hardware defects. If you root you can't get those fixed for free.
Use this tutorial.
I got mine jus before Xmas I had a gs2 fully rooted and oc wishing same sort of thing....ready guides now

I mistakenly updated the Hboot firmware on my phone on the first day I got it, thinking it was an OTA update file!!
There wasn't a compatible RUU, so I was forced down the custom rom root from day one!

[Q] My wife's One V keeps freezing UP

Hi my wife has a One V with stock everything. It keeps freezing up and takes up to 1 minute just to open a new text message.
The phone has never been rooted or modified in any way.
I tried rebooting it, doesn't change anything. She does not have many apps installed at all from the market, maybe 1 or 2.
The way I fixed it last time was back up all of her sms and call log and setting and I did a factory reset.
This solved the problem but the phone was slowing getting worse and worse and now it is almost impossible to use it.
Is this a know issue? Is there an easy fix for it? Or maybe the only option is to root and install a custom rom for her.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks
I do indeed give you the advice to install a custom rom. This is a known issue with the stock rom.

Great I had a feeling it was ROM related. Since I have no experience with One V, can anyone suggest a good how to guide to unlocking boot loader, and rooting, and installing CWMR on this phone. Every device is different so it is like leaning all over again for each phone.
oh yeah any rom suggestions? Not sure if I should give her a stock based sense rom or AOSP / CM. Personally I love AOSP Jelly Bean 4.2 on my S2 because I hate Samsung bloat on my phone.
thanks alot.
Personally I would recommend 4.1 or 4.2 depends if she needs the functions that are still missing from 4.2 (biggest one being camera I think) if she wants sense I recommend suprimo. As for a guide, there are some as a sticky in one of the sub forums (I think their in general)

I suggest you look for provision or pacman 19.3 in cdma (from what I can assume your CDMA) they have 5mp camera which is what the stock camera has. Note: the difference for flashing between a Samsung s2 and our device is we have to take the boot.img from the ROM.zip we DL and flash it in fast boot (thing before you enter recovery) after we flash the .zip in recovery
I recommend twrp recovery also because i find it easier to navigate
ONE MORE THING:
Power + down vol to get to fast boot and tell us what radio you have.
IF it ends in .0928 your going to get boot loops if you flash a JB ROM simple fix I'll tell you if it does because it is a complex process.
However if our radio ends in anything else you should be fine (htc had an ota that upgraded radio and it fked things up).

If I helped you don't say thanks, click it!!
I don't understand.

I've never been very tech-y with this stuff, and now I'm having problems with mine. I don't understand the ROMs or anything. I don't want to void the warranty or anything.
Well assuming the rules here. You can't install a rom here. Because for that you have to unlock the bootloader and doing that voids the warranty.

Flashing custom ROM is the only solution...

[Q] No WiFi after flash to PACman. HTC ONE V

Unlocked bootloader, Used RUU to downgrade radio, flashed TWRP Recovery, installed superuser in recovery, flashed Pacman 4.2.2, followed by boot. The result was a working rom, but no WiFi. Phone is a VM HTC ONE V. Any suggestions? Apologies if this has been covered before.
Could it possibly be related to the radio not updating? Is there any way around that. Bootloader is s on.
R: [Q] No WiFi after flash to PACman. HTC ONE V
Try to flash the kernel again . The one mentioned by ice

I guess it is known issue on this Rom build. Just flash v19.3 if you want fairly stable rom
